Transport of package
hi
i need to transport package also from bi dev to bi quality?
i am trying delete some thing from quality, getting ZBI package is not exist?
in BI 7.0 if i transport dtp, its not overwriting?
what can i do?
Hi,
What are you trying to delete??
In most cases you will have only creation or change authorization for the objects like DTP or infopackage but not for delete and thats why it will be giving you an error.
I think instead of deleting it...let it be there and create a new one.
Regarding package...everty object should go inside a package and its not mandatory to transport the package first before the objects...
If you transport the object...packages will move automatically....
Thanks

How to transport a package(dev class) to another system?
dear gurus,
is it possible to transport a package (development class) from one system to anther system mannully? there is no transport path between the two systems.
best regards.
JunHello Jun
The "correct" way would be to create a transport request of type Relocation of Complete Package (SE10):
DE ORDER_MVE
Short Text
Select relocation of a complete package
Definition
Relocations of complete packages are transports with which you
simultaneously
o move the original location of all objects in a package to the target
system and
o simultaneously assign the package to another transport layer.
Use
Changing the transport layer means that you can edit and transport the
objects consistently in their new original location without delay.
However, I assume that this is not possible in your system landscape. In this case you can download the transport files using transaction CG3Y (if available => download as BIN not ASC) yourself. A transport request E01K900100 consists of two files (data and log file), e.g.:
/usr/sap/trans/data/R900100.E01
/usr/sap/trans/cofiles/K900100.E01
Please note that the transport directory is likely to be different on your SAP system (check for directory DIR_TRANS in AL11 or ask your basis colleagues).
Now on your target system you either upload the files into the corresponding transport directories using CG3Z (if available) or ask your basis people to put the files into the directories. Either your basis is importing the request or you can use transaction STMS (Import queue <target system>, menu Extras -> Other Requests -> Add).
Add the request to the import queue and import it.
Finally you need to change the original system of the transported object and the transport layer of the package:
1) SE03 -> Change Object Directory Entries of Objects in Request
2) SE80 -> Package in Change Modus: maintain transport layer

How to transport the package back
How do I transport my package back after I have already transported it to the higher level. I mean to ask that if I hv to do some modification to my package den how do I get it back from the testing department. and wt procedures I have to follow in order to get it back.
Hi
What do you mean by getting back the package to DEV
Is it request or packagae
if you define a packagae in DEV under some request, though you transport that packagae will be there in DEV
I think it is the Request Once you release and transport the request you can't get back the contenets of it back
You have to create a new request with objects and to transport again.

can any one tell me how to transport a package , also how to identify the request no for a particular package
<b>1)</b> You can transport a package by going to <i>SE80</i>.
In the first dropdown select 'Package' and enter the package name in the input field below this. Select 'Display'. Now right click on the root of the tree structure, this should be your package name, and select 'Write transport entry' from the context menu.
<b>2)</b> To see the transport number to which the package has been written go to transaction <i>SE03</i> Select a check box for object selection and enter 'DEVC' in the object type input field (the second field in the selected row). Now enter the package name in the 3rd input field in selected row. Make sure that the Status 'Modifiable' and/or 'Released' is ticked (dependent of status of transport).
Now select execute. -
Transport-changing package owner
Hi Gurus,
I am facing an issue in BW system. After changing transport layer for particular package , Request is going into corrections and repairs. Since this is not the original system for the object, also it was prompting for local workbench request only.
To eliminate this problem i used TRANSPORT OF COPIES through which you can transport the objects belonging to some other system.
But after changing the transport layer, i am getting the following problem. It will be of great help if anyone can tell me the reason behind the below issue.
ABCK904251 XYZ PACKAGE TRANSPORT LAYER CHANGE ( 12.02.2011 )
ABCK904252 123 Development/Correction
ABCK904253 123 Repair
Also how we can change the owner of a package.?? it seems that somehow they all are interelated.
Please reply,
Thanks N regards,
AlokHi,
Suppose your having 2 system landscapes
One Landscape -> SD1 ST2 SP3 , Here your having RD3 as Transport Layer name
Another Landscape -> SYD1 SYT2 SYP3, Here your having RD2 as Transport Layer name.
Now you have moved some objects from SD1 and SYD1.
Now when you check the package of those objects in SYD1, the Transport Layer name will show as RD3 in SYD1.
Here in SYD1 actual Transport Layer name is RD2. So you have to chage the Tranpsort Layer name for that package which you have imported from SD1 to SYD1.
Once you import to the SYD1 from SD1, In SYD1 change the Transport Layer in SE80 t-code.
You can't change the Owner of the name, but when you chage that object latest modified by will be your name.

Transport of package links in BPC NW 10.0
Hello Experts,
I have observed something strange that not all package links seem to be transporting to target system.
Though i have collected 6 package links through RSA1 granular transport methodology ... i see only 2 have been imported into Q.
I could see the elements in the transport request, howver when imported only two package links were imported and others were missing.
did any one notice such behavior? or am i missing something?
Thanks.any thoughts folks?
has any one seen this before? -

Import GP Local Transport Request Package
Hi, SDN Expert.
I am trying to move my GP Process from one system to another system.
I have create the transport package in sda format in to my local drive through "GP Transport" --> "Create transport request". When I tried to import the transport package through "GP Transport" --> "Import transport request". The only option for me to import the package is through End Point Alias. I do not have the End Point Alias setup, as I plan to import the transport package locally.
My question is what is the right channel to import the sda package that I have exported? Is that through "GP Transport" --> "Import transport request" (but I don't see that option to import sda). Or I can use SDM tool to do so?
Thanks,
KCHello,
if you are using netweaver 7.0 :
After exporting there is an option "download sca file", click there , download it to your pc and then you will have to use SDM to upload it in the destination system.
Then you have to release the transported objects:
After uploading it, log in into the destination system , go to guided procedures -> administration -> Import transport requests --> go to the process you transported and select it so you can release it for use.

Marco. -
Hi
I'm trying to add info package into transport request but I'm not finding the way how to add this. If we transport cube/info- object we can go to extra and click Object Directory entry and change local package into our package . Other way is Go to directly Transport and then select what we want to transport and find object and then we can collect in transport request.
In info-object as I couldn't see Object directory entry under extra and I couldn't find this info-package in TRANSPORT Tab.
Please can you suggest what I'm missing as I've tried these steps 3-4 times but doesn't seem anything is missing.

Impact of the Transport Layer changes in the package
Dear Experts,
We are in the process of the Upgrade. As a part of the upgrade from 3.1to BI7. We have two Dev systems one is with the 3.1 - BWD and the other one is with the BI7- CBD now. We have transported all the objects with the Package : ZBWD (Where the transport Layer of this Package ZBWD).
And we have introduced the new Integration system(CBQ) in the landscape now and we have changed the Package ZBWD properties(We have changed the Transport Layer of this Package from ZBWD to ZCBD).
Can anyone please tell me the consequencies of this change in the package. We are planning to move this changed package, once the upgrade is finished.
Can any one tell me the consequencies of this change and also if we dont transport this package change in the other systems, then what wil be the consequences.?
Thanks
Raman
Edited by: Raman R on Aug 12, 2008 5:42 PMHi,
We have the package exists in the production which is with the earlier Transport layer called ZBWD.
As we have the new development system now, we need to change the Transport layer in that same package: to ZCBD.
Can anyone tell me will there be any impact of this change on the objects in the further landscapes? and also please explain me what are all the steps which needs to be carriedout if the transport layer got changed in the package?
Thanks

Problem with Transporting packages
Friends
I am just trying to learn the basic export and import of packages from one server to another.
I have created a very simple package with a simple program (SE38 Program). I noted down the request number. I then went to transaction code SE09 and released this.
Even though all the objects are activated properly, I still got an error message
'Error in pre-export methods for request EC1K900079'
Also I don't find any files in the cofiles and data directories.
I tried the same for simple SE38 Program, SE37 function, SE11 table (all seperately) to see if anything works. I get the same error message in all the cases and don't see any file in COFILES & DATA directories.
What am I doing wrong?
I would appreciate any feedback.
Also, what transaction code should I be using to import this on another server.
Thanks
RamHi,
STMS is the Tcode for importing the TR to a particular server.
Packages are used to create requests.
what is the need to transport the packages, i did not get it. -
Transport request organizing report based on package
Can anyone suggest me from which tables i will get all the transport requests, package to which it belongs to, which date it has been created, in which date it has been trasported and modified and to which user id it belongs to.
Hi Sneha.Gupta25,
You can ask the same in Basics forum to get More answers.
Anyway you can check the Table E071.
Also Have a look at tables start with E0*
