Transport of Update Rules

Hi ...
I have created an update rule for a cube and would like to transport it to testing in BW ver 2.0 can anyone give me the exact steps to do this ....

Hi
Go to the transport connector in rsa1 and chose the updat rules in your left pane.
Double click on the select icon...you will get a window with list of update rules
Chose your update rule..
Double click on this..it will come to the right hand side......
Click on the truck icon in the top of all......assign a request number...
and transport
Now go to se09 and release the request

Hi,
The following options can be tried:
1)Try to transport the cube once again with option "before data Target" and manually collectinng all the objects.
2)Transport the Update Rules once again
3)Activate directly once again in Test system.

Transport of update rules from one BW system to another

Hello all,
SAP BW 7.0. Two systems: acceptance, development.
We adjusted 4 old update rules between DSOs and InfoCubes in development system. Trying to transport it to acceptance system (transactions se01, STMS).
Two update rules were transferred succesfully as executable. Other two were transferred as inactive. Overall transfer error code 8.
Strange that when I select some of these update rule and push "check" button it says no errors. But in transport log errors exactly in checking and activating of these rules. Please if someone faced with such strange things suggest a solution.
Want to add that rules are consistent, they are transported fully to acceptance. Proble just two are inective. In development they are active, of course.
Activate after transport not an option. They must be transported as active, all 4.

My friend , kindly follow the steps
Step1
Analyze the transfer rules in development , check for any start routines if any , and also field routines , and also some Tables which are associated with the start routines.
Step2
In case if you find those , first transport those and collect it in a separate request and transport it
Step3
later collect a transfer rule request and go with Over write option ( please tell your BASIS guys )

RSAU 466 during transport of update rules

Hello,
I wonder if someone has encountered this error in BW 3.50 (or other 3.X versions) in the Method Execution log of a transport request between two BW systems. The log file is the <SID>R9XXXXX.<SID> file in the /sapmnt/trans/log directory.
We have been encountering it with several update rules from content Attribute InfoSources to content MD InfoProviders. This message basically states that there were errors found, but at the exporting system, the update rules work perfectly.
Please inform me of any insight into the true reason of receiving this message, as it is not nearly informative enough.

Error while Transporting Update Rules.

hi xperts,
   I am getting Error while Transporting the Update rules,i already transported the INFOCUBE,INFOPACKAGE EVERYTHING.
    Start of the after-import method for object type R3TR ROUT (Delete Mode)
Errors occurred during post-handling RS_AFTER_IMPORT for ROUT L
The errors affect the following components:
    BW-WHM (Warehouse Management)
Is the error,I didn't change any thing in the Cube or changes to Update rules.
Can anybody Help me?.

Hi,
Are you still facuing the issue ?
No need to worry about the routines, once you save the update rules if there is any routines in it it will be saved in the same request. If you want to check the routines you can check in the transport connections. Transfer the update rule to the right hand side of the screen and you can see all the routines that belong to the UR.
If you know the technical names of the routines you can check in the TADIR table.
Have you transported the info-sources for this update rules ? why not you again capture the info-source and the update rule in a single request and transport again.

Error while transporting update rule.

I am trying to transport one update rule to production..
But it is ending with error code 8 n it is giving me following error :
      Errors when activating update rule XXX
      IC=0PP_DS03 IS=0CO_OM_OPA_6 error when checking update rules

Hi Swati,
Before transporting the update rule, in the present scenario, you have to transport the infosource which contains the corresponding "0recordmode".
Whenever you transport anything into the quality or production, the list should be as followed in the given manner :
Seq No     Objects in Request
1     Package(DEVC), InfoArea(AREA), Application Component(APCO)
2     Function Modules
3     Keyfigure Catalog(IOBC), Keyfigures(IOBJ), Units(IOBJ)
4     Characteristic Catalog(IOBC), Characteristic Infoobjects(IOBJ)
5     Infosources (ISCS, ISTD, ISMP, ISTS, ISFS, ROUT) and
                Generic Data Sources(DataSrce Active Version(OSOA), ISMP, ISTS,DataSourceReplica (ISFS)
                and Tables (TABL)
6     Infoproviders(ODS(ODSO), Cube(CUBE), Infoset(ISET))
7     Update Rules(UPDR, ROUT)
8     Infopackages(ISIP)
9     Queries(ELEM)
10     Webtemplates(TMPL, BLTM, BPTM)
Just transport all your things in the above sequence, and it will be done successfully.
Also, remember there should not be any data in the corresponding infoprovider while you transfer the update rule, else it will fail.

Urgent....Transported Update rules active version but still not active....

Hi Gurus,
i have changed a datasource and an ODSA
and this ODSA which also acts as a datamart to ODSB
so i have transported, transfer rules, transfer structure, infosource, update rules of ODSA and also the
update rules of ODSB as well
And before realsing the request into quality i have replicated the datasource from R/3 as well and then realsed this request to Quality everything is active like transfer rules, infosource, transfer structure
ODSA update rules
But the ODSB update rules are not active kindly tell how to make them active.
so again i have regenerated the export datasource and then again i transported only update rules of
ODSB.
but still the update rules are inactive, kindly someone guide me how to make them active
as i have to send this to production which is having 4 years of historical data so please kindly
help me.

A.H.P i have manually activated the update rules its working fine, so i am praying that everything should be fine in production as i have requested to have permissions to activate in prd as well

Transport routine in update rule

Dear All,
I have new routine in update rule, after development test is ok,
I transported to quality environment, but return with error code: 8.
The new routine and changed update rule are in same request number.
I think maybe I must separate and transport the routine first,
before I transport the update rule.
Now, how transport this routine?
I also confused to find the routine generated number because there are a lot of routine
in this update rule.
I already triggered by update the routine again (to prompt request window),
transported the request and I have the same result.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Error when transpotring Update Rules

Dear colleagues.
When transporting an update Rules into our Quality enviroment the system pops up the following error:
IC=ZWEPP_C02 IS=ZWE_BOM_RMX_IS syntax error: rows 0.
I've verified the Update Rules on the Quality System and everything is correct but it remains inactive due to the transport fails.
I would appreciate your feedback.

Update rules Activation Problem

Iam getting the error while transporting the update rules to production,saying error mesage,

from Dev to QA successfully transported and data hasbeen loaded with out any issues,
I didnot changed any thing in ODS,I Just created the new infosource with only two characteristics and created the update rules direct updating,with out any routines.
I activated the update rules in Dev couple of times and transported to PD,but every time it is giving same error,there was no issues upto QA,
Please suggest anybody how to resolve this issue.

Iam checking from transport request error log,iam getting error message as I mentioned in my question,
iam not getting detail information on error log,Update rules are available in PD system but in inactive state,
I did the Update rules check it is giving message 'no erreors found in update rules'.
I collected all dependent objects from transport collecter,still same error,I tried from Program
RSAU_UPDR_REACTIVATE_ALL,but my PD system is in not modifiable state.

Update Rule in Q not active

Hi SDNers,
when i transported a update rule from D to Q, the update rule still remains inactive. I repeated the transport again and again still it wont change although in D it is active. Even other objects are fine. I did only necessary objects first time and in the repeats i did dataflow b4..Any help??

Hi Dave,
You need to ask your BASIS Team help in this regard.
First you have to identify which trnsports are to be reversed. For Example, The update rules were active until 17 jun 06. On 18 june 06 you transported some new changes to the cube or IS and the update rules were deactivated. Then you created several transports to activate the update rules and they are all failed.
So you have to back the changes upto 17 jun 06.
Once all the transports are reversed you can see the update rules active in QA.
Then you create a fresh transport and apply the changes. Make sure,If you change a cube ot IS, you also have to include UR in your transport.

Updates rules inactive after add KF

Hi experts,
we have to add aditional key figures to a infocube that is already in Q and P systems (with data).
Now we are not being able to transport the update rules to those systems.
Correct me if i'm wrong but if you add aditional characteristic's or key figures you don't need to delete data in the infoproviders in the ohter systems.
we have already try to transport:
cube and then update rules;
all together cube and update rules
in both cases it fails.

Varadarajan, our database is in SQL the spaces requirements that you refer are the same for this scenario? The fact table for this infop is 43G in Q system and our database have enough space.
am i making this analysis ok including the Db space?
Praveen the update rules are not datamart's.
The transport ends with a 8 code and for each update rule inlcude gives the message:

Sadeesh, all necessary objects are in the destiny system and no modifications were made at infosource/data source level.

Procedure
Check the proposal for the update rules: Newly added key figures or characteristics are updated directly using the source-InfoObject from the InfoSource if the InfoSource contains these InfoObjects. Otherwise, the calculation type is set to 'Routine'. Newly added key figures, data fields, or attributes are set to 'No Update'.
The rules for key figures and for characteristics must be checked and adjusted appropriately.

If you collect your transport in a big lump of a single transport, the tranport connection may not organize it in the order of the proper dependency, so it is best to split it to separate transports as stated above to ensure the proper dependencies.
To fix the issue right now, you can either
1) take another transport through of only the updated / activated update rule or
2) if you know what you are doing and if the client is okay with it, open the system, activate the update rule and when prompted for a transport, create a new one and go to SE10 to clean up that repair transport by deleting the subtasks.
I would probably recommend option 1 for you. I only do option 2 if it is an emergency and there is no transport window for another week or longer or it just simply cannot wait.

Error when activating update rule after transporting to QA

Hi,
When we transport Info cubes and update rules along with Process chains. There are the following errors in Transport request(XXXXXXXX).
1. Error when activating update rule 22HSFD3ZMALU46LS0R8PRF2MW
IC=ZSDPCXY2 IS=2LIS_11_VAITM error when checking the update rules
2. Error when activating update rule 7NT4WIDPDCN2ERFDRXIGH95PM
IC=ZSDPCXY2 IS=2LIS_12_VCHDR error when checking the update rules
and etc.
Then we activated and saved all the erroneous update rules in another tranport request(YYYYYYYY) and again we transported alongwith the previous transport request(XXXXXXXX).
The last request(YYYYYYYY)was successfully tranported and still there are same errors in TR(XXXXXXXX).

Hi Vijay,
Next time you would have transport only (YYYYYYYY). Transport Request (XXXXXXX) was not required to be moved.
Normally Update Rule gets deactivated in QA when any changes to the CUbe/ODS are moved.
Thus either you can transport transport request for only active update rule to QA or activate your UR directly in QA system in case you have authorization to do that.

Im trying to transport the transformation between the infocube 0FIGL_C10 and the ODS 0FIGL_010 from BI Dev into BI QAS. I kept getting a return code 12.
Transport message:
   Program terminated (job: RDDEXECL, no.: 18141700)
   See job log
   Execution of programs after import (XPRA)
   End date and time: 20070620181432
I go to the log and I got the following message:
Job started
Step 001 started (program RDDEXECL, variant, user ID DDIC)
All DB buffers of application server vrxsapq1 were synchronized
ABAP/4 processor: ASSERTION_FAILED
Job cancelled
Im using BI 7.0
I dont know what it is. Can someone tell what should I do or what Im missing?
