Transport of XI content

Hi!
We want to transport our XI solution by file system to our customers.
I know that I have to use Integration Builder to export the integration repository content.
But what about SLD stuff? Do I have to export my product from SLD? Software component versions (2)? Both?
Do customers have to import these into their SLD before they can import integration repository content?
I only have one XI system so I cannot test it by myself.

If you're having one SLD if not then you should also copy sld so that all sld's data will be consistent
I think in SLD Administration , Content and then do an Export ALL in DEV SLD and then in Production do an Import.
This is only the case if you have many SLDs as SAP suggests it's better to have only one, central SLD ...if you do then there's not much you have to do. just the configuration for the directory

Extremely Urgent : Transport of KM Content through ICE Protocol

Hello Friends,
This is really urgent.
I have been transporting XML content in KM folders through ICE protocol.
But of late the problem is that I am able to download the KM foledrs in .zip format in my Desktop but of late when I am trying to upload it in the TEST Server through Content Exchange it gives me a Page cannot be dispalyed error in the Content Exchange Window.
Please help me out. Initially I had problems in downloading contents but now there is problem with uploading.
I need to transport the KM contents to TEST and PRODUCTION servers immediately. If there are any other methods of doing the same do tell me.

we are facing a few problems while transporting the Business Content from the Development systems to the Quality System.
it says Method Execution - Action Cancelled.

How to transport web xml content in portal

Hi Everyone,
I have created web xml content in my dev portal which has user messages.Now i wanr to transport all these to QA portal.i have transported all the content using KM content transport procedure. i even transported /etc/xmlforms.
now if i check in QA portal i can see all the message links but when i click these links,a window pops up with XML code of that particular form instead of that message.
Is there anything which i have forgotten or which needs to be done.

My problem has been solved and now i can see all the web xml forom content in my QA Portal.
But now my problem is that when i edit or create new message in my QA Portal it doesnt reflect in my User message area or in the messages list.
Could you please help me out with that

Transport of Portal Content

Experts,
I need to transport the portal content (only the IViews, pages, systems etc and not the background WD application!) from the dev box to the QA and later Production.
Do i use the transport functionality provided in the portal for this??
Can the portal content be extracted into a DC so that I can get the content into NWDI and tranport it through the landscape.
Whats the default approach(could also be the only approach)???

Hi Vineeth,
For Transport you should have System Administration Role..
Go to
System Administration -> Transport -> Export
Select the folder or content.. Right click.. Click Transport Package in context menu. And Follow..
Save that package in ur system.
Then import in ur degination system

Transport of portal content objects from EP 6 SP 15 to NW 2004s portal

Hello All,
     My question is regarding the transportation of portal content from a EP 6 SP 15 portal to the NW 2004s portal. We had developed a lot of content in the EP 6 portal. We had installed and configured business packages in the SP 15 portal.
    Now, we installed a new NW 2004s portal and we want to transport all the developed content from the SP 15 to the new NW 2004s portal.
    I exported all the developed content to a transport package on the SP 15 portal and the export resulted in the .epa file. I then imported it into the new NW 2004s portal. But the issue now is I am unable to see the system aliases which were created for all the systems. The systems do exist in the new portal but the aliases do not exist.
Is there anything that needs to be done to get the system aliases?
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

I think while exporting you have to select the option include dependant objects also to get the system alias also.

Create Workbench request only.
Because when u will transport the table from development server to quality that time table records won't transport.
We don't have any TR type to transport table with records.

Is it possible to sign the transport and its content?

Hey Everyone,
Is it possible to sign the transport and its content when I release transport? So that when a particular transport is imported into destination system we can say with certainty that transport is not tempered with?
I am more worried when we give data and cofile to be imported into some System it may be tempered with so that it may look like the same transport but its contents are modified. (I am not sure even if its possible for somone to modify these files and hence the actual ABAP Object in it are changed.)
Of course, it is possible to sign the file content itself and send it over, but I am trying to minimize the risk even more so that when we release transport or when someone is importing it signing is automatically done or checked.

There is no way of sense water and CO2 by a single sensor.You could be able to measure CO2 and water seperately but before that i need to know much details and chemical specifications about your liquid.

Transportation of portal content

Hi,
I was just wandering if there is any way to export all of my existing content from one portal to another
I already saw that it is possible to transport iviews, pages, worksets, and roles via system administration --> transport
That is not enough for me, I also want that other content such as properties, xmlforms, layoutsets, repositories,... are transported
Mainly I want to create a backup of my entire portal environment and copy it to a new (production) portal
Is this possible? Is there some kind of tool to do this?
Is there a way to create a transport route from one portal to another, so that if I change something in my development portal, the change will be automatically made in the production portal?
I'm using EP7.0 stack 10

Can we transport InfoProviders along with their contents?
Our requirement is: We have few InfoProviders in QA which have been loaded with actual data, but unfortunately we lost the data files.
Now we want to move these objects to Production, is there any way we achieve this?

or you can use data mart scenario,
create source system bw qa in prod, replicate datasource,
create new infosource in prod and assign with ods generated datasource 8[odsname] from bw qa.
create update rules for ods and assign with this new infosource. create infopackage with 'full upload'.
hope this helps.
technically i think it's possible to transport ods active table entries, but not recommended, we can change ods active table (se11) to 'maintainance allowed', then se16, display all records, and choose menu 'table entry'->'transport entries'. create request and import to prod.

Transports of Business Content

I am having problems transporting Business Content and have decided to take a new approach. I will transport bottom up. How can I delete/rollback all the previous transports which have failed. I have only transported from Development to QA? Thanks

Hi Niten,
Sometimes working with the transport connection and business content is wierd. I generally follow the development cycle. 1. What are the info-objects in the cube. If some are not activated then activate them.
2. Are we loading master data for them then activate the associated objects like transfer structures, treanfer rules, infosourcs, etc.
3. Is ODS loaded before the cube then activate the ODS and the associated datamart.
4. Finally activate the cube.
Follow the same cycle for transports. As when you activate/create some objects add them to your trans port request. This way you do not transport any unncessary objects to the Target system.

-Permissions
-Service Permissions, etc...

To transport you have to create a package and then import:
From dev system logon in portal:
System Administrator-Transport-Portal Content-Choose your folders and using context menu select new->Transport Package
Then you choose your objects and by mean context menu you press "Add object to transport package".
Once you save all your objects in your transport package, you import this package in producction system.
Related permissions, you have to set again, it is not transportable.
If you create forms using form builder you can find them in this directory
D:/usr/sap/dev/sys/global/config/cm/
you can see a directory by form, copy each one of these directories in your produccion system.

Compare the transport request which imported in QA & PRD from dev then you can find .
If you transported the same request from DEV to QA & DEV to PRD then this might be possible.
because of mapping of source system.
if you have transported same req from DEV to QA & DEV to PRD then plz import that request from QA to PRD.
Please check mapping of source systems in TX: RSA13 in DEV & QA systems.

While installing have you given any package and created request for this activation? If yes go to SE 09 and release your task and then request. And receive this in STMS in BWQ.
If you do not have created request and saved it in $tmp while activation then you have to go to RSA1 > transport connections> select your cube > grouping> only necessary objects> collect automatically> and press transport button this will give you request no > and then release this request> then go to BWQ> stms> select source system> select your request> and press import request button(white truck sign)> do necessary settings > and say OK. Once your request status is green then its successfully received in BWQ.
