Transport planning and shipping condition

What is the meaning of transport planning and shipping condition,
Please explani

<b>Shipping Conditions (VSBED):</b>
General shipping strategy for the delivery of goods from the vendor to the customer.
You can define shipping conditions in your system which corresponds to the requirements of your company. You can specify a shipping condition in the customer master and in the vendor master.
The loading group, the plant and the shipping condition determine the shipping point that will be proposed by the system.
Apart from the country and the geographical region of the shipping point, the ship-to party and the transportation group, the shipping condition determines the route that the system proposes in the order for the delivery of the goods. In the delivery, the route proposal also takes the weight group into account.
<b>Transportation Planning:</b>
Transportation Planning is part of the Transportation Planning/Vehicle Scheduling (TP/VS) application and is used for medium to long-term planning. It enables the transportation planner to optimally distribute the available capacities for trucks, trains, ships, and planes. The aim of Transportation Planning is to load capacities in the most efficient way and reduce costs. Most customers currently rely entirely on external shipping companies to carry out an optimal transportation of goods, which means that punctual and cost-effective deliveries are a high priority.

  • Transportation Group and Shipping condition fields in Route determination

    Hello Guys,
Please, I heard that if I leave Transportation Group and Shipping conditions field empty Route determination would consider whatever value I put in Material/Custumer Master.
But the determination just happen if I put the exact value in either the determination and the Material Master for Transportation Group field for example.
Have you ever determined Routes leaving the fields empty?
    Thank you,
    Regards,

    Hi,
Those fields Transportation Group and Shipping conditions available in Route Determination are essential to trigger the correct route in Sales Order level.
If blank the available routes need to be picked manually at Sales Order level.
    Kindly check .

  • Shipping Point VS transportation planning point

    Hello Gurus,
Could you please the answer the following questions?
What is the different between shipping point and transportation planning point?
Where is the transportation planning point assigned to?
Why exactly we require the shipping documents in the business perspective?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pavan P.

    Hi Pavan,
The transportation planning point consists of a group of employees responsible for organizing transportation activities. Each shipment is assigned to a specific transportation planning point for transportation planning and shipment completion. You must define the various transportation planning points used in your organization in Customizing for Corporate Structure before they can be used to perform transportation functions. You can define this organizational unit according to your company’s needs, for example, according to geographical location or mode of transport.
The transportation planning point is assigned to a company code, but is otherwise independent of other organizational units.
The shipping point can be proposed automatically during order processing depending on the plant, loading group and shipping condition.
A shipping point has an address.
The shipping point is used as a selection criterion for lists of deliveries and the work list deliveries.
The shipping point is used as a selection criterion for processing deliveries like printing, picking or goods issue.

  • Reg Copying of Shito Shipping Condition in a Sale Order

In the cusomer master for a Sold to there will be different Ship To say "A" Sold To has c,d,e Ship to and also A itself is the sold to as well and sipping condition maintained for Sold To is "1" when you create a slae order with Sold to and Ship to being "A" the shipping condition will be picked as "1" fine.
But for 'B,C&E" different Condtions willbe maintained as "1,2 &3" respectivel as a seperate customer master with Ship To Account Group as Ship To account so now when you create a Sale Order with Sold to as "A" and Ship To as "B" the shipping condition is selected as "1" from Sold To Customer Master this is as per SAP standard but when we want to make in such away that Shipping Condition need to be selected from the Ship To of "B" (ie) "2" how do we handle this.

As you said, Shipping conditions will pick form Sold party only in standard, But if you want to pick form Ship to party then you have to try with User Exit only there is no standard for this., and Shipping conditions from sales document is the first priority than the sold to customer so remove from Sales Document and check with User Exit with the help of ABAPer (Include - MV45AFZZ)
Check the below notes and in forum to get more details
Note 208009 - Shipping condition from sold-to party
Note 7670 - Which fields come from which partners (order)

  • Transportation planning pt. and loading points

    Hi Experts,
How many Transportation planning pt. and loading points is to be maintained?
Is it to be maintained according to plants?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    shabnum

    Dear Shabnum
The transportation planning point is an organizational unit in Logistics, responsible for planning and processing transportation activities.
It organizes the responsibilities in a company, e.g. according to shipment type, mode of transport or regional departments.
Loading Point is nothing but Shipping points which are independent organizational entities within which processing and monitoring of the deliveries as well as goods issue is carried out. A delivery is processed by one shipping point only.
A shipping point can be determined for each order item. How the shipping point is determined depends on three factors:
<b>=></b> The shipping conditions from the customer master record (Shipping screen)
For example, it might have been agreed with the customer that the goods are to be delivered as soon as possible.
<b>=></b> The loading group from the material master record (Sales/Plant Data screen)
You could, for example, specify a loading group that defines that the goods must always be loaded with a crane or a forklift.
      <b>=></b> The delivering plant
This plant is determined per order item either from the customer master record or from the material master record. However, you can also enter it manually for each order item.
    Thanks

  • Shippment and transportation planning point

    Hi sd gurus,
Plz kindly send me the configuration screen shots for the above documents

    Thanks & regards,
    srinivas.T

Hi Srinu - I don't think, there's much to look into shipping and transportation planning points. Here's a quick overview and you should be able to see it yourself in the test system:
Shipping point : A logical point in SAP in a plant, that will regulate shipping activities for a particular business opertaion. Say shipping point for Full truck customers, or Small parcel goods etc.... is Defined in Enterprise structure and assigned always to a plant. A plant can have many shipping points based on the needs of the business operations of the plant. A shipping points is determined in a sales order in the following way:
Combination of Shipping condition (as derived from sales document or customer master) + Loading group (assigned to the material master) + Plant (as derived from customer info rec or Customer master or material master). You do the assignment of shipping point to these combinations at SPRO->Logistics Execution->Shipping->Basic Shipping functions->Shipping point and goods receiving determination.
Transportation planning point : Is a logical definition, which in business terms relates to the team of transportation folks who are responsible for transportation activities in a plant. However, Trans Pl. Point is not assigned to a plant, but assignment is done to a plant in a way such that the external transportation processing determines which TPP to use for a particular plant, but only for external processing. A tansportation planning group is burdened to create shipments and manage other transp. activies. They will use this transportation planning point always to create and manage transportation documents.
Transportation planning point is assigned to a company code when you do shipment cost set up to report transportation charges etc.
    Thanks

  • Shipping condition determination (OVL2) not open and system close

    Dear Guys,
as per attached, i used ECC 6 VM and when use t.code OVL2 to open Shipping condition determination system appear this error and terminated.
IS there another choice to link Ship condition+Plan+LoadingGroup.

    Hi Nagi,
Is a plant determined in the document in ERP after downloading from CRM? If not then this is probably the reason so you will need to map a vendor partner in CRM to a plant in ERP at item level so that the determination of the shipping point takes place.
    Kind regards,
    Vanessa

  • Stock Transport Scheduling Agreement - PO - created but Shipping Conditions

    Hello Gurus,
Our client has a process of STSA (stock transport scheduling agreement - instead of PO) where they want to transfer the materials from US to Europe, being Europe customer. Europe creates STSA and requests out of 100 qty first 25 by Air Shipping Conditions and the rest 75 by Ocean Shipping Conditions.
Once we create STSA Shipping conditions we can not change in STSA in Item data ->morefunctions->shipping data. Where as same can be played around in Sales order. So currently no workaround so they are changing the customer master from Air to Ship and creating multiple STSA.
I would like to know whether a good solution is available already and I am not aware of yet. Please let me know.
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
We have the same issue - just wondering if you ever found a solution?

  • The loading date, transportation date and planned date on the STO are the same as Delivery dates.

    Hi,
We have created a Intra plant STO (plant to plant in the same company code). The planned delivery date is 4 days. So if I create a STO today (27th march), the delivery date is 31st march (excl Saturday and Sunday).
During delivery creation, the loading date, transportation date and planned date are also coming as 31st march. The route determination for the given shipping point and route shows 2 days for transit and 4 hours for pick pack. There is no loading time maintained for the given combination.
Can you please advice why are the dates coming the same as delivery date during delivery creation without considering the duration maintained in route determination ?
    Thanks!!!
    Anuja

    Hi,
This is a standard behavior of SAP in case of Stock Transfer PO.
If you want that the delivery date of receiving plant be transferred to supplying plant, please use BADI MD_STOCK_TRANSFER.
    Hope this helps.

  • Shipping Point and Excise Condition

    Hi,
This is my old issue for which I need solution.
When we change shiping point in sales order Excise condition become statistical for one plant.
But now with similar pricing with same sales organisation above setting are not working for other plant mean there is no change in condition when we are changing shipping point for that plant.
So please help me to solve this issue
    Lalit

There is no direct link between Shipping Point and Excise Condition but CIN related settings are mainly dependent on Plant settings.
So check whether any user exit is applied.

  • Shipping Conditions and Route

    Hi All,
Did any one of you ever had a scenario where you need to :
Change the Shipping Condition based on the Route.
I mean there are some restrictive routes which should alter the Shipping Conditions.
Any sorts of hints/solution/logic in changing the Shipping Conditions based on the route shall be very helpful.
    Thanks and Regards

    The MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE might work.. Interesting.
Oh! Sorry to confuse you. I'll try to explain in a simpler way.
Delivery gets created in R3 (delivery creation always happens in R3 only) -> SAVE_REPLICA idoc goes out from R3 to DWMS -> Delivery replicated in DWMS.
When delivery is modifited in R3 (using VL02N) -> CSL locks the delivery replica in DWMS
When delivery is saved after modification in R3 -> SHP_OBDLV_CHANGE idoc goes out from R3 to DWMS -> Delivery replica will be updated in DWMS.
When delivery is modified in DWMS (using VL02N) -> CSL locks the original delivery in R3
When delivery is saved after modification in DWMS -> SHP_OBDLV_CHANGE idoc goes out from DWMS to R3 -> Original delivery will be updated in R3.
Next section only happens in the DWMS system...
When shipment is created in DWMS, deliveries should be updated in DWMS and R3. The deliveries are being updated in the background using BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE in DWMS.
SHP_OBDLV_CHANGE idoc should be generated in DWMS to update the original delivery in R3. However, this step is not working (this is my big problem).
And as per documentations that I've read (even the bapi documentation), BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE should be able to generate the SHP_OBDLV_CHANGE idoc.
I hope that clears things up more.
The thing is though, documentation seems to say that BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE should be able to generate the SHP_OBDLV_CHANGE idoc but I'm currently using it and it's not doing it. I'm assuming maybe I missed something on the import section of the bapi..
    Inputs, help, etc, appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Carlo

  • Stock transport orders and demand planning

I have 2 plants 1000 and 2000. 1000 sells Finished goods(FG) to customers and also does a inter plant transfer of FG from from 1000 to 2000. We use a STO to do the transfer. Plant 2000 also sells to customers. We are doing a consumption based planning and creating a forecast for FG at 1000. We enter the forecast as a PIR in demand management in Plant 1000. The forecast is based on consumption ( sales + transfer via STO). Is it possible for the STO from 2000 TO 1000 to consume the demand in Plant 1000?
    thanks a lot

    Praveen
I am not using DRP but running MRP in both plants. Does'nt DRP use the same MRP funtionality? Is there something in configuration that I can do to have the STO consume the PIR?
Also if I do forecast based planning with VV MRP type in 1000 is there a way the STO will consume the forecast?
    thanks a lot
