Transport to Quality

We have the following Landscape. Dev, QA, prod and Training
The transport route needs to be defined between Dev to QA . & QA to Prod, QA to Training.
Would any one explain me , What is a Transport layer and what are all the transport layers required for the above scenario?

This is the job of BASIS... check with BASIS people for more information..

'Screen does not exist' error after transported to Quality server.

I have a report program which is working fine in development server. It is transported to quality server and when executed it throws dump. There is a CALL SCREEN statement in the program and the dump shows screen 1001 does not exists. I checked the program on quality server and when i double clicked on the screen number, it tells screen 1001 does not exist and do you want to create??. I rechecked the program in Development server and confirmed everything is active and have been catched in the transport request. When I checked with the basis guy, he said there was a component conflict error with the request while transporting and he overrided it.
Please tel me what should I do to solve this issue. Its very urgent. Please help.

You seem to have run into some trouble with transports. Did someone perhaps develop this report in the QA server?
I would suggest this:
In SE80. display your report. Then in the hierarchy on the left, right click on your report and select 'write transport entry' . This option will ask you to create a new transport for your report and all objects inside it. Take that transport to the QA server. It should include the entire report, including screens.
If you have trouble importing into the QA server, please provide the transport logs here.

Source system assignment while transporting to quality

Hi Guys,
I have the following landscape.
I have created 2 source system ECCDEV and CRMDEV for my BIDEV.
Now I wish to do transport to Quality box and i want to know what should be the source system assignment , I should maintain in rsa1->transport connection -> conversion of logical system name.
When I maintain ECCDEV -
> ECCQUA
I get the error : ECCQUA entry does not exist in TBDLS.
Do I have to maintain source system ECCQUA(Quality) in BIDEV(Development) itself?

Hi Rakesh,
Let me know if my understanding is correct.
In DEV BI, I create a connection to DEV ECC.
Also, I create source system ID's for source system.
In the QUA BI, I create a connection with QUA ECC.
and assign source system connection (source and target) i.e. DEVECC and QUAECC.
Then I transport requests(activated datasources) from DEVECC to QUAECC and replicate the datasource in QUABI.

Extremely Urgent (BPS - STS Transport to Quality)

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to transport *Status and Tracking System* (Transport Request includes Sub Plan and Planning Session).
The objects get attached to the Transport Request (TR) in the Development System. We release the request to Quality System.
However, the STS objects do not show up in BPS_TC in Quality System. We checked the log in STMS in Quality, it shows that the objects have been transported to Quality.
Please could some one among you give a possible reason or solution to it as we have been given limited time for its completion

Issue on transport to quality server

Hi all,
my basis guy has released all the transport requests to the quality server. But i cld not see any condition tables or access sequence copied in my quality server.
in SE10 there is only request on Pricing Procedure, there fore the pricing is been copied in quality but with descriptions of condtion types, access sequence and condition types .
plz suggest me what shld i do now in this case.

Hi Anil,
The transports pertaining to pricing procedure are client dependent ones whereas the ones related to condition table are client independent(Table creation)
So first check the objects of the transport which is now in Quality server in the previous server itself. Mostly it will not have any Atables (Atables are the condition tables).
First pls check whether the transport mechanism for client dependent and client independent tports are same or different.
If same, and if the objects are there in the transport in the first server, then check its log while transporting to quality server.
If different, please follow the procedure for client independent tports and move the condition tables .
I think access seq is again client dependent. So take care of condition tables and access sequences in different transports to take care of the scenario.
In our project the tport mechanisms are different for client dependent and client independent tports and hence we follow separate procedure for condition table and access seq(in 2 different transports)

No function module has been generated , when transported to quality ?

I created a zsmartform and transported to quality, but when i checked the function module of smartform in quality its saying ' No function module has been generated yet ' but the smartform is in active status . when i tried to activate it again the program jus running and not getting activated ?

Ok.
I am not sure, If this would work . But, would like you to try the below solution can get back:
1. IN the Development Server, take the FM name...from SMARTFORMS tcode for a particular smartform...by entering the smartfom..then Environment-->Function Module Name.
2.Now, give the name in SE37 tcode and then in the Menu> Function Module> Release--> Release..
Now, after releasing it..check If the smartform is able to get activated in Quality Server.
Revert Back with the result.

Reg: Error while transporting from Quality to Production

Hi ,
I am facing a problem while transporting ODS from quality to production.. The same works perfectly when i transport from Dev to quality.
The Error Displayed while transporting is
Start of the after-import method RS_ODSO_AFTER_IMPORT for object type
The creation of the export DataSource failed
Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts
Error when creating the export DataSource and dependent Objects
Error when activating DataStore Object
The creation of the export DataSource failed
Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts

Error when resetting DataStore Object to the active version
Kindly give me some suggestion ..

go to the source system RFC connection in SM59 and do a remote login - if you get the login page there then there is an issue with the RFC connection. also check if any other system is using the same RFC.. we had a situation where th R/3 connection was being used by 3 BI instances and everytime we reset the password , another system would lock the sme , ultimately we identified the systems and did a password reset in all the systems and then the issue got resolved.
but then we also faced the same issue you faced and it was related to login issues - check the remote login and that will tell you.

Cannot transport from quality to production due to syntax error

Hi all,
I have modified the program in Development system in which i have added on field to the internal table structure. Internal table is declared in the top include of the program. Now the program is transported to the Quality server which ends with the error for top include as"Original object cannot be replaced". But when i check the top include in quality server, the field which i have added is available. Now for transporting to production server, it ends by syntax error saying "The data object ITAB does not have a component called <field>".
Please guide me for the above error.

If there are no syntax errors in quality, then where is that syntax error showing? It must be in production. It will be an inactive version in production that has the syntax error. Go into production, try to activate the program. Activation will fail because of the syntax error.
You get the syntax error because the defintion has not made it into P. If you transport the whole program, as R3TR PROG zprog, and have the correct flags set on import to overcome the message "Original object cannot be replaced", then your problem will be solved.

Changes are not reflected when objects transported from Quality to Productn

Hi
In case of moving some Transport requests from Quality to Production, some times the changes made to the selection screen of a report program doesn't reflect in Production. Also we don't see any Transport error while transporting. Moreover, we can see the changes by regenerating the Program in production.
Would any one help me out in this with the reason for this.
Pls suggest what needs to be done.

- I have checked the respective transport too, and every thing seems to be fine.
- Recently we went to go live, for the next release, so earlier before go live, we didnt faced any proble.. Only now we are facing this problem, that we find the changes relating to selection screen are not reflected when the object / prog is moved from qty to Prd.
- Only problem is with the selection screen.(not getting reflected in PRD. In Qty we are able to see those changes.
- Then in order to reflect these changes in PRD, we have to re generate the object, then only it get s updated..

Pricing Routine is not getting called after transport to quality

Hello,
We have created a new routine under Condition base value formulas. We have done all the required settings so that it is called while creating / changing sales order. Our routine is working fine in Development server but after transporting it to quality it is not getting called. We can see the routine in VOFM but in debugging mode the system is not able to find the routine.
Can anybody please tell me what setting is missing in quality?

Can we edit the transported objects quality systems?

when i tried to do so the change icon was disabled.

Yes ..you can change it in SWCV...Check box ..objects are modifiable.
After this ...you can edit your QA objects...
But..After manual changes done in QA objects..it will create a conflict while transporting the same object from DEV to QA..
In Conflict tab..you have select the latest object as an active object.

Getting DC-broken error while transporting to QUALITY server

hii all,
I have a DC which have been built and deployed fine and giving the perfect output when running on portal. This has been deployed on local server.But while tranporting it to QUALITY server for testing,itz cannot be imported there and giving an error "DC Broken".....!

What i believe that the related objects for the BADI are not captured in the Transport.
Pls check the BADi definitions and implementation class included in the Transport.

Replicate your datasources...and activate the transfer structure...now go to the transfer rules and bring the field for mapping.

Program to Auto Import transports to quality and production systems

Hi Experts
Do anyone have a program that imports transport requests automatically into quality and production systems from development? I know there is a procedure to import all into QA that can be set in TMS.
But I am looking for a program instead that could auto import into quality and subsequently to production.

You need to set the autoimport job in Q whichh will bring all the transport from Dev when they are released. For autoimport go to STMS --> import queue of your Q system -->Start import with the small truck sign and it will ask you to select the time (run it every 15 mins or so) --> start the job
Production you never setup an autoimport, there might be some transports which you may not want to send to prod, only the approved transport will go to prod. Hope this helps

Transport on Quality need to be forced after a system copy

Hello Experts
I have an issue with some transport order on Quality (QUA) after a
database refresh from Production (PRD).
- Some transport Order on Quality need to be forced in the TMS (u126)
to be imported succesfully. An alarm 'original object cannot be
replaced' is shown if the import is performed normaly and tp end with
code 8 .
- QUA is a Copy of PRD , but this problem does not occurs on PRD .
Here is the log on QUA for OT T2DK954538
Start import LIMUREPSZ47_RFUSVS14 ...
R3TRPROGZ47_RFUSVS14 original object cannot be replaced
LIMUREPSZ47_RFUSVS14 was not imported in this step

- For information these TO were not released in QUA or DEV but were
issued on T2T ( when QUA was not integrated in the TMS ) . Apparently this
problem affect only the TO issued on this former system .

Thanks for you help . I will try to explain the multiple change which occured in the landscape during the upgrade ( 4.7 -> 6.2 ), a bit cumbersome ..
Before the upgrade the former landscape was T4D -> T4C -> T4P
The development T4D system was the last to be upgraded .
The system T4T was a standalone system ( Not in TMS ) used as development on the upgraded version .
T4D was removed from TMS to be upgraded and the Consolidation T4C took the place of the Development ( T4D ) . T4T was integrated as Quality in the landscape .
T4C -> T4T -> T4P
after the upgrade T4D took back his place as Development . Meanwhile T4C was refreshed by T4P .
T4D -> T4T -> T4P
Finally T4C was reintegrated in the landscape as Quality .
T4C -> T4C -> T4P
After the refresh we run the se06 in T4C . T4C is now configured the same way than T4P in the SCC4 .and in se06 his status is set to modifiable . A first sight the Development created under T4T (When it was the standalone DEV server ) can be imported without problem in the productive T4P but need to be forced in Quality T4C .
I was wondering if this problem can be linked with the original system or if some change need to be done in se06 .

Launchpad - ESS MENU - Descriptions not transporting to Quality client

I have made some changes to the Launchpad role ESS, instance MENU. Our customization included some changes to the Link Text and Descriptions. I was able to translate the Link texts using APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS and transport them, however I am unable to get the Description (Customer Long Text) texts to transport. I'm not sure what step(s) I'm missing so could someone provide me with details on how to get this done?

I've even attempted to force them into a transport using Program ID = LANG, Object type = DOCT, DOCV, using the keys seen in report APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS.

I'm a bit fuzzy on what your suggesting I do since I am unfamiliar with those transactions. I will cover it with our development team to see if it makes sense to them on what steps to do before I confirm.
Just as reference, I can see the text in the DOKTL in our Dev environment. If I pull up report APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS for ESS MENU I can see the Texts Keys and Text.
In our Q client, if I pull up the report, for ESS MENU, the Text keys are there, but the Text is not. Were the Text Key already there or did my transport put them there?
When you mention "activate the document *** in English in SE61" What do I put into the Name field? The Text key only gives me an error.
