Transport tools for (program & data)

Dear forumers,
Any idea what kind of tools are available for transporting (programs & data) from a development server to test server and then to production server ?
Would appreciate you could list a few and comment on which likely better tools.
Regards

If it is just database objects (tables, packages etc) then you can use export/import. But if you need to transport the filesystem codes also then you need to copy those files as well .. There are lot of tools available to transport filesyetem files starting from simple ftp/sftp.
So would you please give some more details .. like what kind of programs/data you want to transport.

I suppose the various sources will have various optimal solutions.
Like in case you want to import from excel I would suggest to save your data to a csv and use import. (imp)
For access files the best solution is the Oracle Migration Workbench.

    Hi Sitaram,
If you happend to be one of those who forgot the transport request number of your abap program.
You can easily find it via the Versions Management.

Filled in your ABAP program name.
Then click Utilities -> Versions -> Version Management
SAP system will display this sample list :-

  • I want to upload om data through lsmw. how can i create transport request for lsmw data.

    can anyone help me?

    Hi Anand,
There are 2 ways for transporting LSMW data from a system to another.
    1) Export/import this method gives you the opportunity to select the subprojects or objects you want to transfer. Hence you don't transfer the object a colleague might have created and that should stay in development system. LSMW -> Extras -> Export project
2)Transport request with this method, you can transport a LSMW project in full (you cannot select the objects you want). With this method, the project will be transported as any other SAP object in a transport order.
LSMW -> Extras -> Create change request
For more information, refer below link Steps to copy LSMW from one client to another

  • Tools for Web data entry to Essbase&Relational

I am looking for tools that will allow to write back data into Essbase as well as to Relational database.

The offerings from Hyperion in terms of Hyperion Analzyer and Hyperion Reports both offer reporting capabilities for relational and can write back to Essbase however they can't write back to relational. My best guess would be to look at a third party tool.A first start maybe Alphablox (www.alphablox.com). This offers relational and OLAP functionality although I am unaware of its relational write back - beware this product is also not 'out of the box'.A second product to check out might be Arcplan (www.arcplan.com). Again do not know about its ability to write back to relational but worth checking out.Hope this helps.Paul ArmitageAnalitica Ltd.www.analitica.co.uk

  • Tools for migrating data (documents) from MS SQL to Oracle

    Hi,
Please let me know if there any tools available for migrating documents from one database like MS SQL to Oracle. Currently our documents are stored in MS SQL and we are planning to implement KM for document management with Oracle as the database.
    Regards,
    Suresh

The old manual style still works - create the scripts for the migration objects, then use search & replace to rename the schema for all affected objects and finally run the SQL script to create them in the Oracle database.

  • Tools for migrating data from SAP DB2 to Oracle

HI, someone please help regarding the topic mentioned above. Is there any tools that I can use to migrate the DB2 to Oracle
    Please help me

This is a very specialized area you are looking at. My recommendation is that you look at SAP sites on Oracle.com for assistance. There is also a SAP Migration white paper you can read and the Oracle/SAP site.

  • Are there any CD/DVD recovery tools for Mac?

In the good old days (??) of windows I had a plethora of handy recovery tools for rescuing data of scratched or damaged CD/DVD.
Recovery utilities is one area where the Mac community seems to fall flat - I've spent an hour looking and can't find anything remotely like IsoBuster or the other tools I used to enjoy...
If I ran those Windows tools under Parallels, do you think they would be able to diagnose a CD in the iMac's superdrive?
    Any thoughts?
    Steve

    Yes (I second that motion...)
Isobuster will work in windows on a virtual machine or in windows booted from a boot camp partition.

  • Looking for a Web Interface for Editing Data in an Oracle 10g Database

    Greetings all!
My organization is implementing Oracle 10g Release 2 Enterprise version. We have an employee who will need to edit data in the database which will hold staff phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information. This employee will never need to administer the database or develop tables, queries, etc. They will only need to add and remove rows of data and edit text values stored in a database table.
Does Oracle 10g have a built-in, browser-based tool that can be used to edit data in a table via a friendly user interface? If no, can you please recommend an easy to use tool for editing data in an Oracle database?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
    Rachel

    Justin,
Thanks very much for the tip!
Do you know if Oracle 10g has any kind of built-in tool for editing data? I have heard of "The Vault", but that appears to be a tool for administering database users, reports, etc. I am looking for some kind of tool that shows the data in a grid layout (like Microsoft Excel) and allows someone to edit and save data in that grid. A web-based tool would be best, but a desktop tool (especially if it's already part of Oracle 10g) would also be good.
    Thanks again,
    Rachel

    Hi,
BO Integrator connects with other system (Database) and you will be creating your reports on the top of that DB or system. It never saw it being used to pull data from legacy to BW.

  • Check Transport Tool error

    Hi,
We are having a problem when checking the transport tool for our PRD system from the domain controller which is DEV system. Our landscape is this:
Our DEV system/server resides in one location, the QAS and PRD server resides on another location which has different network than DEV. Is that possible to configure the transport management system with that kind of landscape? And if it is okay for a transport route to be generated for the three systems?
When we check on the transport tool for PRD system from domain controller, we are getting inconsistent output. Please see attached screenshot.
    Hoping for a prompt response.
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    AJ

    Hi Deepanshu,
Yes i have configured it by including PS3 and QS3 in the domain system of DEV (Domain controller) and approved it their. but when i do the distribute and activate TMS configuration, QS3 and PS3 is interrupted. Please see below error:
And i again checked the RFC connections it is all working fine.
But when i check the transport tool for PS3 it says below error:
    Thank you!

  • Third parties tools for MaxDB

    Hi forum,
SQL Studio and Database Manager are great tools in most of cases. I would need better tools for managing datas and databases.
My main aim would be a database upgrading tool. I mean a MaxDB complient tool to add/remove/update tables, stored proc, cursors and so on between an A and a B MaxDB database.
Well a MaxDB database versionning tool.
    King regards

    Hello Vincent,
    1)  The Installation Manager for the MaxDB software is a graphical interface tool enabling
you to install the entire MaxDB software package or individual software components and
also create, upgrade and uninstall a database instance.
    Please see more information at
"Using the Installation Manager" < SDBSETUP > at
    http://maxdb.sap.com/currentdoc/74/df234239f75733e10000000a155106/content.htm
< And all MAXDB users could review the documentations to install the MAXDB
    at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/maxdb
< -> "Installation on MS Windows and Linux" >
<-> The Complete MaxDB Documentation Set -> Installation >>
    2)  You could use the dbmcli & sqlcli tools. Documentation available at
             http://maxdb.sap.com/currentdoc/default.htm ->
"Database Manager CLI" &  SQLCLI     < Database tools >
    3) Please also review documentation on the database tools "Loader" & "Synchronization Manager"
        at http://maxdb.sap.com/currentdoc/default.htm ->Tools
And Loader Tutorial shows examples for commands of the Loader tool for exporting and importing data.

  • Where can i get transport file for bc400's template programs to import

    hi
where can i get transport file for bc400's template programs to import to miniwas
would like to do the exercises for tw10 and tw12
    regards
    jan

    Thanks Spencer.
I downloaded it, etc. and that didn't work.
It actually seems to work the same way as before I downloaded that driver, meaning, it prints but leaves it in the "# Document Pending" status.
Since the wireless HP print server isn't working (No connectMgr.exe file) there's no connection and therefore the doc won't print.
RE: Print/Server software out of date.  The software was working for many months after originally installing it on this laptop.  Then it just stopped.  Now it can't find the .exe file and that's odd.
If I could find that file I could just save it where it needed to be and I'd be good to go.
    Thanks for the help.
Going to uninstall and reinstall again, just for fun.  I'll report back.
