  • Transfer of report from development server to preporoduction server

    Dear All,
I have created one report in Development Server(130) and now I want that report to be transfered from development server to pre-production server()300 for checking purpose. How i will do that. One more thing suppose my report is being transferred to pre-production. And again my reports need some changes then where and which server I will able to make changes in  my program.

    hi
any objects in SAP are transferred using the requests.
check whether your report is in some dev-class (package). if not assign a package and allot a request number for the report.
go to SE09 or SE10 t-code and you can transport to your desired server/system.
if you want to make any changes, you have to make that in development system. when you do so, it asks you again for a request number. give a request number.
once the changes are done, move the request number again to your pre-production. the changes get reflected there automatically....
    thx

  • How to set user specific Layout for executing IW38/IW39  report.

    Dear Experts,
We have 10 users seperatly, For executing IW38/39 transaction they have maintained seperate layouts for executing the reports. While saving layout they have saved the layout as 'user specific' Now some body has chage the settings.
After changing the setting all are getting same layout.
Please suggest how to set user specific layout. When user enter the IW38/39 report by default he should get his layout.
    Thanks in advance.

Create Variant using SHD0 and with Group and assign to particular user's
    Here is the steps
    Creating a Variant Group
    1. Open transaction SHD0, enter the transaction code, and press enter.
    2. Choose the Standard Variants tab page, and then the sub tab page Variant Groups, and enter a group name, such as GROUP_GEN
    3. Choose Create. Enter a short text on the Maintain Variant Group window that appears and save the variant group.
    Assigning Users
Once you have created the variant group and the relevant transaction variants with screen variants, you now need to assign users to the variant group as follows
    1. Return to the Standard Variants tab page, Variant Groups sub tab page.
    2. Enter the name of a user that you want to assign to this variant group, and choose Assign. A message that this user was successfully assigned to the variant group appears in the status bar. If you choose a where-used list for users, this user is displayed in the user list.
    3. However, for the screen variants of the variant group that you created above to be displayed for the user, you first need to select Set Proposal. The user is assigned to the group and the associated transactions are started with the corresponding variants only once you choose the Set Proposal function.
You can use this procedure of user assignment for all other users that you want to add to the variant group
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Non user-specific layout in Tx KOC4

    Hi all.
We´re trying to create a not user specific layout on tx KOC4, but the option "user-specific" is check and grayed out and can't modify it.
We´re using the standard report.... I search on the forum and on sap notes for a solution, but I can´t find it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you want to be able to create non-user-specific layout from the actual/planned cost report in  you have to flag the field "layout visibility - shared" in transaction OKN0. Then you will see that the user-specific field is no longer greyed out anymore.
I leave the solution, if anyone needs the help sometime
    Thanks any way!

  • Control User Specific button in ALV report

    Hi,
Can anybody please suggest me how to control "USER SPECIFIC" button in ALV report layout using authorization object. I mean if you can tell me which authorization object is responsible to control the "USER SPECIFIC" button.

additional info to what Lakshmi already said:-
normally the restrictions for saving layouts/display variants are done at 2 levels:
    1) The developer of an ALV list first predetermines the authorization in the 'i_save' parameter within the code.
    I_SAVE = ' '     -
    layouts cannot be saved
    I_SAVE = 'A'   -
user-specific and cross-user layouts can be saved
    I_SAVE = 'X'   --- cross-user layouts can be saved
    I_SAVE = 'U'  ---  user-specific layouts can be saved
    2) The second level comes to us restriciting the S_ALV_LAYO which gives access to users to save global layouts if I_SAVE for that particular transaction is A or X.
for example, a report has I_SAVE= 'A', which means
it will allow to save  User-specific  layouts without any restrictions.
and if user has S_ALV_LAYO then he can save both User-Specific and Global Layouts(variants).
it would be better to keep this object separate.

  • HOW TO TRANSPORT THE STANDARD TEXT FROM ONE SERVER TO ANOTHER?

After creating the standard text in SO10 transaction
it will not ask for any transport request no while saving ,
i want to transport the standard text from development to test server.
    how can we do that?

    Hi Riaz,
To transport a Standard Text through a transport request , you need to attach the standard text through the transaction RSTXTRAN.
After executing the report RSTXTRAN , you can enter first the task name then the Object as TEXT , then the name of the standard text , ID as ST, then the language as EN or something else .then execute.
you cannot attach a standard text to an unassigned task.Firat you have to either activate a smartform or a script with that task then only you have to attach a standard text.
I think your query is almost answered .
    Reward if you please.
    Thanks & regards,

  • How to export user specific layouts to another user ID's

    Dear Experts,
We saved some ALV layouts as a User Specific, now I want to export those layout to another user ID,
for example in User ID “X” I saved some ALV layouts as user specific now I want to move those ALV layouts to another user ID “Y” , but my “X” user Id is blocked how to export those layouts to another user ID, Kindly Help me out.
    Thanks & regards,
    AIM

    Hi
You have to create a NOT User specific layout. This will be available for all the users depending on your security authorization. You cannot move a user specific layout from one id to another

  • Copy user-specific layout to another user ID

Does anybody know how to copy "user layout" information
from current user ID to new user ID?
At the end of every year, my company needs to give new user ID to all users
due to security reason. For example, User ID for Y2008 is "user2008",
and provide new user ID which is "user2009" for Y2009.
The user is the same employee.
Since he is the same person, of course he wish to keep using
his user-specific layout for Y2009 continuously.
So, I copied current user ID and create new user ID from SU01.
Then, I found out that "user layout(user-specific layout)" information on FB03
was NOT copied to new user ID.

    Hello,
There is no need need to create a new user year.
You can extend the validity of the same user id year by year. For example, you have created a user "TRAINEE01", initially when you have created you give the validity period from 01.01.2008 to 31.12.2008. Once the year is being closed, extend the validity from 01.01.2009 to 31.12.2009. This way you can avoid lot of maintenance cost as there are no redundancy of user IDs.
There are many settings are user specific. In case if you create a new ID, the problem is that again he has to change all his / her settings. It would really cumbersome and they may not be knowing what changes made in the previous ID, as the system administrator might has stopped access to the old ID.

  • User specific layouts

    Hi
    I'm new to adobe forms.
Is it possible to have user specific layouts in adobe forms like we have for say ALV?
I can't see any option in the layout tab to save a particular layout.
If not then what are the other options available to achieve this?
    Thanks
    Pushpraj

    Hello,
    you have 2 options:
    1) create multiple layouts for a single interface (layout variant at design time, created by the developer, not the user)
    2) pass all the data into the form and add some information about what data does the user want to see
(note: everything must be send to the form, only part will be hidden according to the customizing)
in the form you will use scripting (to control the form behavior) to hide the fields the user does not want to see.
Extra: Maybe you could: Let the user create an ordinary ALV layout and save it
On runtime, before generating the form, you can check the layout and hide the fields in the form (through the "customizing" structure where you mark something like COL1 = 'X' for visible and COL2 = '' for invisible and make that happen through scripting).
There is no other way. There is no way user can create his own variant, it always must be a developer, who creates the variants. I am sorry I cannot help you with the user side customizing since there is no such thing.

  • Integrating Reports from SQL Server Reporting Services

    Dear Experts,
I am given the URL to a report from SQL Server Reporting Services. The URL looks like
    [http://<report_server_host>/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?/<category>/<report>&<list_of_parameter_value_pairs>]
When this URL is executed, the user will be prompted for user name and password.
And I am given the following requirements:
    - Integrate the report into SAP NetWeaver Portal
    - The report has to be passed parameters with values generated at runtime and which must be hidden (because it is sensitive data)
Initially, I have been working on two options:
    1. using Application Integrator (portal application: com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap, portal component: Generic)
    2. using URL iView
With the Application Integrator, however, I got the following error:
The operation you are attempting on item "/" is not allowed for this item type. (rsWrongItemType)
I cannot find the solution to this. It looks like the URL which contain "/" after "?" is not appropriate for the Application Integrator.
So I turn my focus away from the Application Integrator, but to using the URL iView instead. And in order to hide the parameters passed, I make the following settings in the URL iView:
    Request Method = POST
    Fetch Mode = Server-Side
But then I got the following error:
Failed to fetch the content. The response status was 401.
    Message:
(I have defined an HTTP system and used it in the URL iView.)
Does anyone know how to fix the errors (either with the Application Integrator or the URL iView)?
Your answers will be much appreciated!
    Regards
    Sakprasat Sum

    Hi
Was a solution for this found?
I am trying to achieve the same thing, create an iView that links to an existing SQL Reporting Services report.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • Transfer executable report from one server to another

    hi all,
How to transfer executable report from one server to another?
    please reply fast
    its urgent
    thnx in advance

    Kush,
To transfer a object from one server to another server it should be assigned to a package ie Dev Class so that a transport request can be created.Once the request is created we will release it using SE09 and then ask the basis consultant to move the request from Dev to Quality and then Dev to Production.
$TMP objects are called as local objects and can't  be transported.

  • Error running reports from Crystal Server XI R2 with datasets

Hi, sorry if my english is not good. I'm from Spain.
I have a problem. I'm programming with Visual Basic .NET 2008.
I'm using Crystal Reports Server and programming under Visual Basic to take reports from crystal Server, changing the tables from the report to datasets and scheduling this report.
Crystal server change connections to CrystalReports.Dataset.
Preview reports from server sends me an error "DataBase connector unknown"
If I run this report (with datasets) into my VBNET application (into a  CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer control), IT WORKS!!!
I need help because I need to schedule these reports (to send them by email, export to PDF formats, ...)

Reporting off of a dataset is reporting off of a disconnected datasource.  The reason your application works is beacuse you most likely populating a dataset in your application and passing it to the report at the same time.  When scheduling, there is no interaction with the report so unless the report is using an xml file on disk as its datasource, how can it retrieve data?
To get around this, you can build a dll (.net data provider) that returns either a dataset or datatable and point your report to this dll.  this way, when the report is executed, it loads the dll which fetches the data for you.
    - so the first step is to compile a dll that returns a dataset or datatable.
    - to design your report off of this dll open the database expert and create a new ADO.NET connection.
    - in the File Path area, click the ellipsis ("...") button to browse to your dll and make sure the selected File Type is ".Net DataSet Provider".
    - once the dll is selected, you can choose the dataset/table returned by the dll.
If your method in the dll is parameterized, it will add a parameter to the report (similar to stored procedure parameters.
note: the location of your dll must be in the same path on the CR Server as it was when you designed your report in order for it to be loaded correctly.  I usually put the dll in a folder that I know will exist on both machines.
