Transport Web Templates BW 3.5

Hi Expert,
I am trying to transport a Web Template in 3.5. I would like to know if it is also necessary to transport web items included in the web template or it is done automatically?
In transport connection, selecting the web template to be transported, and selecting option "In Data Flow before and aftw", i don't see any web item displayed...After the transport, checking in Object List of Request i can find:
"BW: LOIO Class Web Templates"
"BW: PHIO Class Web Templates"
Are these maybe related to Web item?

Hi, BEx web items of version BW 3.x are to be separately transportable via object type ITEM.
So if system didn't add it into your transport request during collection in Transport Connection; I would say that there was no any change done on web items and therefore it is not needed to be transported.
Regarding your 2nd question: Transport objects types: PHIO and LOIO are just technical links used for generated ID of your template into the physical storage of web templates. Do not remove those entries form your transport. They are needed in case of BW 3.x

Missing LOIO & PHIO objects for Web template

Hi,
I have transported web template to QA from Dev. system and I am getting error message " Object not consistent obiviously because I have not transpoted LOIO & PHIO objects alongwith Web template.
I am trying to find these LOIO and PHIO object in transport connection(RSA1), <b>AS BHANU and others have suggested in this forum</b>, under web Template and where not, but I couldn't find it. My question is -where to find these objects or do I have to install any paches or something?
we have not created any role or workbook for any reports.

Web template SCROLLBARS into Left

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement into which we need scrollbar into web template into left hand side instead of usual right hand side.
Using USE_SCROLLBARS value="ENABLED" option helps to enable scrollbar but it appears into right hand side.
Do anybody have some way/code to bring it towards left hand side. Please suggest.

Error when collecting web template to transport

Hi All ,
I am gettingthe following error
"No authorization for transporting role SAP_BWC_PATTERN_OBJECTS "
when I collect a standard custom web template which was create by copying 0analysis_pattern template and adding some customizations.
Please guide me.

check tcode - SU53 for authorization error immediately after you get the error ,if you find some fwd it to ur basis to assign proper auth to your user id.

Web template not capturing in Transport

Hi experts,
I am Saving as an existing web template and inserting my query in the new template. When I try to transport that Web Report, the new web template is not getting captured. What can be the problem?

Just included the template manually in the transport.

Web template with HTML framset not working after transport

Hi,
I've built a frameset which consists of two web-templates (role-menu and content area) those two are combined together using plain HTML which does not acontain any web items (uploaded via WAD). This works fine in development. After transporting to our QA environment all the templates have been transported with concode 0, but the frameset does not get loaded. I always get an "Error loading template ...". The two templates which contain web items work fine when used stand-alone.
When looking in transport connection I see the following message:
"Object ZWF_WEB_FRAMESET (Web Template Name) could not be collected for object ()"
I also see the same behavior on another transport of a template. Nine out of ten ar fine, but one, all are exact copies - only the query used is different, does not work either. The query that is used has been transported and is working.
Has anybody an idea what could cause this?
Is there a way to regenerate templates (like RSRT for queries) ?

Web Template Changes not visible after transport from Development to Test

Weu2019ve run into a problem doing web development in BI 7.0 that I suspect someone has seen before and may quickly be able to point us in the correct direction. Changes that are made to web templates in the Web Application Designer are correctly transported from development to the test environment, but we are still seeing the old version of the template when the report is executed. We are able to see the web template changes in the Web Application Designer in the test environment. We believe this is a caching issue and have cleared the query cache and the HTTP cache in SMICM. Unfortunately, this has not resolved the issue. Can you suggest another approach to resolve this issue?

Not sure what you mean by browser cache. We have deleted history, cookies, and all temporary Internet files. The issue isn't limited to a single user, but exists for all users. Through extensive testing we have established that you are able to see the web template changes in test in the WAD(Web Application Designer) after they have been transported from development, but can only view the changes when the web template is run for the first time. Changes to existing templates can be seen in the WAD in test, but are not seen when the report is run. The old version of the template appears to held in cache somewhere, but we haven't been able to find it and clear it.

Web template transport - Urgent

We are unable to save a web template (after making changes)and getting the following errors.
" THE OBJECT CANNOT BE PROCESSED DUE TO A TRANSPORT PROBLEM"
When we click Ok, then the following message is appearing:
"COULD NOT SAVE TEMPLATE"
There is no any other error messages and we are unable to find the solution. Please help urgently.

hi,
welcome to SDN ...
you need to create a bex reqeust, rsa1->transport connection-> icon truck with 'bex', assign with package as the web template when you transport.
(it seems you have ever transported the web template).
all your changes may be gone since you need to close WAD and open/login again. to save the changes you have done,
in WAD go to tab 'html' something ('design') and ctrl + A (to copy all the line) html to notepad or somewhere.
when open again the web template, paste back the codes/html.

Business Content --> Choose & Install the standard web template & then collect the object for transport...Assign a Package & when prompted for Transport Request --> Opt for a new transport request.

How to transport a web template?

Can anyone please explain to me how to transport a web template which contains many web items (include 10 queries)?
After I collected this web template, I got error message when I execute it in Q.

That's what I did. I transported two web templates before (contain 1 query only) and they all worked. But just not this new one. Here is the error message:

Transport a web template

Does anybody know if it is possible to transport a web template for example from a test system into a production system? Or do I have to do it manually? With "export to file"?

yes, it's possible to transport webtemplate from dev to test/prod.
rsa1->transport connection->left panel choose 'object type', middle panel, you will see 'webtemplate' (under 'query element'?) -> expand it and choose 'select object', you will get a list of webtemplates, you can use binocular icon to locate your webtemplate, then click 'transfer'. will go to right panel, with grouping 'only necessary objects' system will collect queries/query views related. click 'transport'.

How Web Templates are transported

In order to show BW Query at portal we need to create a template and need to create a Web Query in that template. I have done both.
When we create query it ask for package and request I have saved in package RS_BCT_MM_EN with request and released that request also.
Now since query is assigned with request when I release request it is transported to test system.
But when we are creating template it doesnt ask any package or request.
Since no request is asked we cant release/transport template.
As templated is not transported at test system i am getting error
template "XYZ" not found.
Now question is: how templates are transported.

Go into RSA1, go into the Transport Connection, select objects by type, choose Web Templates, and select the one you'd like to transport.
When you click the transport button, you'll be asked for a package if needed, and then for the transport to include it in. Then you can release and import the transport as you apparently already did with the query.

Web Template not impacted after query changed and Transported

Hi. All.
                    We have modified the query and transported to production But query changes not been
impacted on Standard web teplate. But it works fine in Bex Analyzer.
                   Issue is there was a description was truncated earlier we used initially as short description.
Later we mapped to Medium description and modified the entire flow and loaded. It works fine.
                  Only in production we are not seeing correct description in web report and it works fine with Analyzer. So we need to ask the user as after executing the report he needs to change characterstic property from Standard to Medium.
But it would be bit inconvenience to users.
            So how can we solve this problem and why the query changes are not impacting on Web template.
Please provide your views on this issue.

Hi Vijay,
one reason might be if you use the option "personalization" within the web template. If users can personalize the templates changes will not be visible and have to be deleted at the time a new version of the query is provided. There are background tables for the personalization as well where you can delete all objects for this template at once if necessary.

Web Template Not Captured in Transport

Hello Gurus,
I created a web template and am trying to transport from Dev to Test and the web template is not getting captured in the transport. Instead its capturing a web template called 0ADHOC_CHART_LIB.Please let me know.

Hi,
If you created the template new and are not editing a pre-transported template, you will need to manually add the template to the transport. It will not automatically capture it.
