With regards

Hi Narendra,
ROUTE DETERMINATION
Route can be determined in sales order with the help of 5 parameters: depart country, shipping conditions in customer master record, transportation group in material master, destination country, and weight group.
Weight group plays a vital role. The purpose of route determination is like in scenario's where company will ship goods to the customer in various ways not only that it has optional of having n number of routes select the best one & based on his customer priority (time & money.) for sending samples company will go for air, for delivering ordered goods it can go for different mode of transportation & routes.
Route Determination:
Departure country zone (Shipping Point) +destination country zone (Ship to Party) +shipping condition (CMR or Sales Doc Header – Partners + Transportation Group (Material Master) +Weight Group (Optional) = Route. (0VRF)
Plant determination in the sales order: System will search first for Customer material Info Record, if it is not maintained there it will check for customer master record, if it is not maintained here also system will search for material master record...
Configuration part:
SPRO > Routes Basic shipping functions  Shipping -LE -
Define Routes:
Define mode of transportation
Define shipping types.
Assign shipping types to mode of transportation.
Define Routes and Stages
Maintain Stages For All Routes
Route Determination:
Define Transportation Zones
Maintain Country And Transportation Zone For Shipping Point
Define Transportation Groups
Define Weight Groups
Maintain Route Determination in the combination of
a) Departure country/Departure Zone - maintained in shipping point configuration
b) Shipping condition from the sales order
c) Transportation planning group maintained in General/Plant view of material master.
d) Destination country/Transportation zone maintained in General view -Address of Customer master of Ship to Party.

  • Transport shipping point address change

    Hi All,
    I have to change shipping point address in production. I have tried changing shipping point address in Dev system but it could not generate transport request. Please guide me the way to transport shipping point address change from Dev to Production.
    Thanks & Regards

    Usually TR are created by Basis team, if you don't know the process who is suppose to create TR, ask your manager to get the same.
    Once after you are given the TR then save the changes in the TR.
    Once done the changes in development system, you need to test it in test system( Quality client) then you need to request for User to test(UAT). After confirming the changes by User then you need to move these changes to Production.
    But some times  for some clients will do testing both in Development as well as Quality client.depends on client process. But testing is mandatory.
    The above process usually followed by most of the clients.Check your client process exactly how it is followed then proceed further.
    Please let me know if you need any further help.

  • Another question in transportation

    hi,
    we will be having pricing procedure in the combination of condition technique.
    in pricing procedure you will copy from std ie kf00 to frit. if you want frieght then and there you will create condition record and you can see the same in sales order.
    up to this every body knows........
    while configuring transportation/shipping in spro we will find another shipping/transportation pricing procedure which deals with only calculation of frieght.
    as i said earlier sd pricing procedure condition types and this frieght condition types are entirely different.
    then how it will capture the total frieght using transportation module in to sales order pricing procedure or delivery documents or billing document.
    if you find any material related to this plz forward this is [email protected]
    plz help me on this

  • Free Goods Regarding u0096 Sales and Distribution

    <b><u>Scenario</u> :</b>
    I. To represent free goods explicitly in Billing & Delivery & to represent the same in the Invoices & Transport & Shipping.
    II. To make account for the free goods in the accounting and Material documents.
    a. Here the free goods may belong to free goods item category.
                 (or)
    b. The same material may be given as a extra free item for n Quantity Sale of a material.
                 (or)
    c. There may be any Free Goods for certain amount of Purchase.
    How can we identify items as free goods or there are any compliments for a sale and how do we account for it?

    Hi Peterson
    You can identify the free goods by the item category.
    For Accounting purpose in Material documents, create a new schedule line category and a new Movement type.
    Assign the G/L accounts to the new Movement type.
    Assign the movement type to the Schdule line category and then assign the schedule line category to the item category.this will take care of accounting in Material documents.
    If you want different G/L account postings at the time of invoice creation then perform the account determination using the item category.
    Please award points if this helps
    Thanks

  • Need special encoded characters in an Email subject with java 1.3.1_02

    I need to find a way to construct an Email through java with Subject lines built using characters from various Asian encodings. Such as Shift-JIS, Chinese Big5, etc.
    These encodings cannot be in UTF-8 format and must remain in the native character set.
    For testing I have an HTML file constructed using a single line of text with Shift-JIS characters. This file shows properly in web browsers under the Shift-JIS encoding view, and when used to create the body of an email it works perfectly through the DataHandler. However, I cannot get any java Reader to pull the same stream of characters into the Subject of the email. The Subject is always garbage no matter what I do.
    Here is a small code sample with the relevant lines:
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(System.getProperties(), null);
    MimeMessage reSend = new MimeMessage(session);
    Transport ship = session.getTransport();
    BufferedReader s = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream("C:\\JavaPrograms\\Converted\\JISConv.html"), "SJIS"));
    String resub = s.readLine();
    s.close();
    reSend.setSubject(resub);
    DataHandler collect = new DataHandler(new FileDataSource("C:\\JavaPrograms\\Converted\\JISConv.html"));
    reSend.setDataHandler(collect);
    ship.send(reSend);If I use the "SJIS" encoding in the InputStreamReader above, all characters are shown as "?". If I delete it entirely and use the system default, I get half of the characters and the rest are garbage. I can generate either of those results using various other Japanese and Western encoding definitions.
    I have tried using the above code, also DataHandlers for the Subject, FileReader directly to a String, ByteArrayInputStreams, and StringBuffers. So far everything I try ends up at the same result.
    Can anyone help me out? I really need this to work. If I can get this one encoding to work, then I should be able to program case switches for the other encodings.
    Thanks kindly!
    Kurt Jackson

    First this is an issue with javamail and not with java.
    What makes you think that the mime standard allows what you want to do?
    Both of your 'tests' have been done using alternatives which do support alternative encodings.
    These encodings cannot be in UTF-8 format and must remain in the native character set.That seems rather unlikely to me. Email is transported using one encoding. Certainly SMTP uses only ascii. So what ever you put in there is going to be ASCII no matter what you do to it. I suppose something at the end might try to read it using an alternative encoding but then what happens when someone really wants to send those ASCII characters?
    Mime, I believe, is built on SMTP. And the subject line is still SMTP and thus ASCII.
    Here is one link that covers mime (you might want to check the backing references though.)
    http://www.mindspring.com/~mgrand/mime.html
    I believe there is some sort of official or unofficial standard for doing what you want. I would suggest that you start by getting that first. I would suspect JavaMail doesn't support it.
    Once you have a standard to follow you have the following choices..
    - Modify JavaMail directly to support this (this then becomes a non-distributable solution.)
    - Extend JavaMail do support this. This might or might not be possible.
    - Write your own implementation (don't use JavaMail.)
    - Find another solution from another source that already implements this.

  • Release strategy for GR?

    Hi,
    My company has requirement that GR should be subject to approval process before it can be posted. As far as I know there is no standard functionality in SAP for this (at least in ECC, as in SRM there is one).
    Has anyone encounter this before? And how you deal with this? I have tried to persuade the user to drop this, but the problem is they already have this functionality in their legacy (which is custom made web based application), so it is pretty hard to argue with them in this area.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best regard

    Hi Yosea,
    Yes you said is right that there is no Release strategy. And can't imagine the situation in the legacy as well for this approval process thru Release strategy while doing the GR. But there is another way of accepting the goods either partial or full using movement types, you can do so.
    My question is why do you (i.e., your client or company) want to control (through the approval process) at Goods receipt level. That makes complex and un logical as well, thats why there is an approval process comes into picture at PO (Purchase order is an external purchase document and is going out to an external party /vendor /supplier) against that they can supply the material /provide the services to the Organization/company and is required to control before issuing this perticular document called PO (i.e., work order and is required to be controlled thru Electronic release strategy in SAP) instead of manual before in legacy since there is money matter involved and needs to control over investment on Inventory /services purchases.
    But where as GR, this is an incoming document, what the meaning in controlling it through approval process. That is the way you have to conveincene the client or company.
    Ok fine. If still they want this functionality to be implemented (that is to controlling at the GR level for the goods coming in. Then there is another way to control it through receiving the stocks into different stock types using the respective movement types, but not through Release strategy such as Blocking (GR blocking), Quality stock (for checking the quanlity standards thru Quality Inspection) and then later you can move these stocks to Unrestricted use stock, so that this can be allowed to use further.
    I dont think there is a functionality in the SRM as well. As I know that you can receive the Goods in SRM through Online Desktop confirmation that too partial or full quantity, that is nothing accepting/approval for the Partial or full quantity that is received against the PO which is created wrto to respective Shopping cart. And that is how you can control the goods that are coming inside / received at Stores/WH inorder to maintain the good quality of Inventory.
    Note: Controll always suggested at the time of making agreement  (i.e., Release strategy for the PO) but not at the time of receiving the goods. Here while receiving the goods only thing that a Stores person can see tmainly is needs to check for the Quantity, Quality of the goods that are ordered, Delivery time, Mode of transport, Shipping instructions, etc. This will help them further in evaluating the vendor.
    Hence there is no logic is going for that option
    Hope it clarifies,
    Regards,
    Sapsrin

  • Brenthaven carry case secret

    Lots of post all the time about the best carry case fot the powerbook, but lots of you are put off by the high prices of the brenthaven.
    so here is the secret, although not advertised you can call brenthaven or email them and tell them you want the replacement sleeve that comes with the backpak and shoulder case. it is custom fit for the powerbook and is only 29.95,
    it is very nice and if you have an old backpak laying around it is all you will ever need. it even has a handle if you just wanted to use it as a breifcase style transport. shipping is high so your total price is closer to 38 but it is still a bargain for this.
    hope this helps everyone, you'll be happy with it, I love mine. Scott
    ps...it is padded and has some kind of hard material for ultra protection and it weighs practically nothing.

    Scott,
    I recently bought a Brenthaven Pro 17 from my local Apple Store (when I got my new PowerBook 17"). I didn't receive a "sleeve" with my case. Was I supposed to get the "sleeve" as part of the whole case or is it only for the smaller laptops? I can't imagine that my laptop could be any more safe than it is when it's in my case, but if I was supposed to get something more for the same price I would certainly want to have it.
    Thanks for any thoughts you might have on this,
    GeNomeZ

  • The necessary shipping materials and the means of transport

    The answer of the question below is "d. Shipping point". On the other hand, shipping type (shipment type determines how the goods will be transported - tuck, train, ship etc....) is entered in the "shipment type" at the customization.
    Taking into consideration this fact, why is the answer of this question is given as "shipping point"?
    What part of the company is responsible for the type of shipping, the necessary shipping materials and the means of transport?
    Only one answer is correct.
    a. Sales Organization
    b. Transportation planning point
    c. Shipping condition
    d. Shipping point
    e. Warehouse

    hi
    As per my knowledge, normally goods are transported from Plant through shipping point, So ultimately shipping point is the responsible for that.

  • Need Clarification  required for Shipping Type Fields in Transportation

    HI
    I am New to transportation module , i come to know that shipping document is controlled by shipping Type if i am wrong correct me ?
    when i click the shipping Type i have seen so many fields in that few fields i didn't understand few field which i mentioned below
    Service Level , Process control , Leg Indicator, adopt route , Determine Leg , Shipping Type Preliminary leg and sub.leg Shipping point
    I know may be it is a basic question please don't lock the thread and also i searched in the Google
    Difference between stage and leg in shipping & transportation?
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPLO/Transportation354
    I tried to understand by using F1 functionality but  i couldn't able to understand clearly .Can anyone  guide me how it is useful in a real time scenarios and where and how it is impact
    Regards,
    Prasanna

    Service Level - You can differentiate the type of shipment like Load, General Cargo, Express Cargo etc.,
    Process Control - Just press F1 and read "Examples"
    Leg Indicator - If the cargo goes directly from origin to destination with one shipment document, then you can assign Direct Leg.  If multiple transportation is involved and in each and every stage, if you want to generate shipment document, then you have to assign Preliminary Leg, Main Leg and Subsequent leg
    Adopt route -  Press F1
    Determine legs - Press F1 and go through Explanation of Leg Determination Procedure  as it is very difficult to explain
    Long time back, I have handled this and hence, not able to give examples against each.  Will think of and update in case anything comes to my mind.

  • Transport planning and shipping condition

    What is the meaning of transport planning and shipping condition,
    Please explani

    <b>Shipping Conditions (VSBED):</b>
    General shipping strategy for the delivery of goods from the vendor to the customer.
    You can define shipping conditions in your system which corresponds to the requirements of your company. You can specify a shipping condition in the customer master and in the vendor master.
    The loading group, the plant and the shipping condition determine the shipping point that will be proposed by the system.
    Apart from the country and the geographical region of the shipping point, the ship-to party and the transportation group, the shipping condition determines the route that the system proposes in the order for the delivery of the goods. In the delivery, the route proposal also takes the weight group into account.
    <b>Transportation Planning:</b>
    Transportation Planning is part of the Transportation Planning/Vehicle Scheduling (TP/VS) application and is used for medium to long-term planning. It enables the transportation planner to optimally distribute the available capacities for trucks, trains, ships, and planes. The aim of Transportation Planning is to load capacities in the most efficient way and reduce costs. Most customers currently rely entirely on external shipping companies to carry out an optimal transportation of goods, which means that punctual and cost-effective deliveries are a high priority.

  • Stock Transport Scheduling Agreement - PO - created but Shipping Conditions

    Hello Gurus,
    Our client has a process of STSA (stock transport scheduling agreement - instead of PO) where they want to transfer the materials from US to Europe, being Europe customer. Europe creates STSA and requests out of 100 qty first 25 by Air Shipping Conditions and the rest 75 by Ocean Shipping Conditions.
    Once we create STSA Shipping conditions we can not change in STSA in Item data ->morefunctions->shipping data. Where as same can be played around in Sales order. So currently no workaround so they are changing the customer master from Air to Ship and creating multiple STSA.
    I would like to know whether a good solution is available already and I am not aware of yet. Please let me know.

    Hi Mahesh,
    We have the same issue - just wondering if you ever found a solution?
