Transportation Tool is broken

Hi All,
i am trying to transport Objects from Dev Server to QA and even when i m trying to transport even simple Objects from Dev Server and when i m Importing the Request in Prod Server thru STMS i m able to see the Request and when ever trying to import it ,system is saying that" TP Tool is broken", am i missing out some thing while transporting.... or do i need to take care of any thing...
please suggest.... promise to reward points.....

please forward that issue to your basis. Your system might need a restart, or the transport directories have to be remounted or something similar.

set the enviroment varible based on your database software as per the link below.

Try to connect database manually using sqlplus if it is oracle.

SAP Query: Transport tool(program: RSAQR3TR)

Does the SAP Query: Transport tool(program: RSAQR3TR) transport addtional fields and code in Extras of an InfoSet from one system to another?

Yes the ABAP query transports the whole Infoset.
Goto Transaction SQ02
Goto Environment -> Query areas -> Select teh Standard area.
Select Environment -> Transports -> Import radio Button
Check the Overwriting allowedand teh remove the check for Test Run
Select the Transport Infosets and queries radiobutton
Fill in the Infoset and teh Query with the corresponding names and the Import option with Transport Request Number

STMS -- TRANSPORT TOOL ERROR DB CONNECT : LINK TO BD FAILED ? HELP

     i have installed a new sandbox with SAP 4.7c x200 , on windows 2003 and 64 bit kernel.
I have to apply support packages to it .
After fresh installation , i configured TMS and now when i check the tp as
STMS>OVERVIEW>SYSTEMS>SAP SYSTEM>CHECK-->TRANSPORT TOOLS , there a tree structure opens and everything is fine except the tree part tp call having DB CONNECT : LINNK TO DATABASE FAILED AND
offline call having CONNECT FAILED DUOE TO DBSL LOAD FAIL
these two comes in yellow and when i follow the detail it gives a pop up message
as below:

So when i apply package it stops in CHECK_REQUIREMENT PHASE indicating that connection with db failed, also whe i reun to connect it is giving everything fine

Hi,
please try to set the env variable 'dbms_type=mss' globally - just to make sure that we don't get confused here by specific users. I think tp should run under the account SAPService<SID>. Lets see what happens then...

DB failed in transport tool test STMS

Hi all,
I have a problem. It looks simple but I tried to resolve it with known way without sucess.
I have two systems BWD (develop) and BWP (production).
I configured in stms domain and transport group for these systems. Auth on DIR_TRANS is set properly, variable SAPTRANSHOST is set in hosts file.
Tests in STMS of connection, transport tool and tsadm for BWD is ok. BWD is the domain controller.
When i'm testing BWP connection, tsadm are ok but transport tool return an error.
(dbms_type is not set. error code 0249.)
db is mssql.
I check env variables for user bwpadm and they disapear. I try to use ntenv2reg.exe but no variables are set.
I try to add from OS to user bwpadm all necessary variables but after restart they disapear.
Also I try to add these variables via regedit software-sap-bwp-enviroment and also after restart variables are missing.
I don't have any other idea how to do set these variables...
please help

1. Check to see you are running the right kernel, sometimes a 32 bit kernel will actually run in a 64 bit environment, but when cycling the service the registry won't get updated.
2. Make sure you are running the latest version of the kernel.
3. Worst case, remove then add the service back in, do both with sapstartsrv.exe. When adding the service back, make sure to check the box which says use the user environment variable and put in the user running the service there.
4. The user environment variable should contain all the necessary information.

Check Transport Tool error

We are having a problem when checking the transport tool for our PRD system from the domain controller which is DEV system. Our landscape is this:
Our DEV system/server resides in one location, the QAS and PRD server resides on another location which has different network than DEV. Is that possible to configure the transport management system with that kind of landscape? And if it is okay for a transport route to be generated for the three systems?
When we check on the transport tool for PRD system from domain controller, we are getting inconsistent output. Please see attached screenshot.

Yes i have configured it by including PS3 and QS3 in the domain system of DEV (Domain controller) and approved it their. but when i do the distribute and activate TMS configuration, QS3 and PS3 is interrupted. Please see below error:
And i again checked the RFC connections it is all working fine.
But when i check the transport tool for PS3 it says below error:

We have migrated the database from Informix(DEV old machine) to Oracle(DEV New machine) and found the system up and running fine except the DBconnect failed error when i run the STMS->system overview->select the system as DEV-->R3System->check->Transport tool.

We have tried almost every option given in the SAP notes but couldnt figure out the issue. We are now not able to support PRD now as the DEV is not available. Can any one quickly help me in resolving the issue...

So as this is not giving any error, i dont think this is a problem with sapr3 password.
Apart from that we suspect that there is some problem with the env variable ORA_NLS33... but couldnt get to the bottom of the problem...

STMS check transport tool fails on Discovery server,

I run the TMS check transport tool option and I get an error that says
failed to read table SVERS, I also tried to run it from the command line
tp connect ERP and that fails as well. I need to install some transports.
How can I fix this, the transport directory is right, D:\usr\sap\trans.

tp works ok, the only thing that doesn't is the TMS check transport tool. Same error message,
'failed to read table SVERS'
I don't quite understand why I am having this problem, the server came installed from the factory.
UPDATE: Is the Discovery Server based on MCOD or not? If it is then MSSQL_SCHEMA=erp is ok, if it is not shouldn't it be set to dbo? I read one of the notes that indicated so.

I applied note 610640 and it fixed the problem. Just be aware, the procedure ran for more than 6 hrs until I cancel it, although I think it only needs to run for a few minutes (10-15???).

i created one transport request for transporting custom appset to quality system.
while importing in quality i'm getting request in red color. checked log:

we intially transported Non BPC cubes, along with that infoarea name(/cpmb/bpc) came. But i'm able to see several /cpmb/xx infoobjects. I manually moved from infoarea(/CPMB/BPC) to other infoarea(ybpc) with new request in quality. next i'm trying to delete /cpmb/xx infoobejcts through one program(around 700 infoobjects are exists). can i use ujt_content_activate program to delete contents of appset, if i use that program what i have to mention in content version field? can anyone eloborate usage of ujs_activate_content? we are on bpc75nw sp04
any suggestions pls to import request correctly.

continution to above question. sequence of things happend in our side.
Few BW cubes(not bpc), which are getting data from bpc applications(bpc cubes) via APD are transported. Imported to quality succesfully.
Next transferred around 5 BADIs(classes & enhancement implementations) to quality system, which were written for moving data among bpc applications as well for few calculations in plng applications. Succefully imported into quality system and checked respecive BADIs.
Next trying to transport custom appset. while importing facing above problem. Followed SAP how-to guides/methods.
any suggestions pls.

New parameter for transport tool parallel=n

Hi,
I would like to know if someone already had the chance to try this new parameter for the transport tool (parallel=n) that allows to use parallel import processes for one transport request as mentioned in SAP note 1127194. Does this really works or it is just for very specific request types.
Probably it is too early to ask this because it is a relatively new feature but who knows. I can´t try it in the client where I´m working on and have to wait until I put my hands in my company test system.

From SAP note 1223360 it looks like SAP is recommending for large transports.
"b) Import with parallel processes
If you usually have large transport requests to import (with 100 or more objects, for example, client transports), you can then set the parameter "parallel=n" in the transport profile, whereby n is the maximum number of parallel processes. Since the ideal values for n depend to a large extent on the hardware and the database, we recommend that you start with small values and increase them gradually.For more information, see Note 1127194"

Query transport tool

guys,
we have a few queries, infosets and user groups created in our development system. I can see them all in the Global area. Now i want to export them to my qa system but when I open the query transport tool, I do not see options like export, import, download etc. However, I see these options when i execute report RSAQR3TR from SE38. But when i execute this report using export option, I get the message no object found !! I can see these queries, infosets from sq01, sq02 just fine.
If I go back to the transport tool from sq01, I see that there are two options: copy standard area ---> global area, executing which gives me no object found message again. But if i execute the option copy global area -
> standard area (in test mode), i get results. But why would I do that if my queries are already there in the global area and I want to transport them to another system???
please advise.

Hi Mahajan,
The reason why the radio buttons do not appear is because the queries are in the global area and hence they are cross client.
To transport them I would suggest assigning them to packages and hence it would either create a transport request right then or you can then use the option of the transport icon.
To change the package of the query .
Goto SQ02 and choose the infoset .
Then goto menu Infoset->More functions-> Change Package.
This will assign your queries to a Development class(package) and then using transport requests move them to the client that you require.

Transport Tool Check in STMS

Hello Experts,
I have problem integrating a Dev system into the production's domain controller. There is an UAT system as well. But this system can be integrated without problem. I used the exact same method to integrate Dev.
But when trying to 'accept' this into the domain, SAP system prompts me a message saying that this Dev is already in TPPARAM file.
Regardless, I continued and the Dev is shown as activated and I distributed.
When I do view this system in stms and perform 'Check Transport Tool', there Transport Profile is shown as not the domain controller's ...\sapmnt\trans but the Dev's ...\sapmnt\trans. This resulted in check failure for certain parts of this check eg. tp call could not connect to database and profile version is wrong.
What's puzzling is that the transdir parameter in the domain controller is pointing correctly to its global transport directory and dbhost,dbnames etc of the 3 systems are correct. UAT system has no problem.
So, I just like to find out how does the Check Tool get the location of the Transport Directory or Transport profile despite the tpparam and TP_DOmain_xxx.pfl already specifying correctly eg. transdir =
<domaincontrollerhost>\sapmnt\trans\
I tried overridding using Dev's instance parameter transport_exe to force point it to use <domaincontrollerhost> but to no avail.

Any idea what kind of tools are available for transporting (programs & data) from a development server to test server and then to production server ?

If it is just database objects (tables,packages etc) then you can use export/import. But if you need to transport the filesystem codes also then you need to copy those files as well .. There are lot of tools available to transport filesyetem files starting from simple ftp/sftp.
So would you please give some more details .. like what kind of programs/data you want to transport.

CS6 DPS tools have broken CS6 licensing - Now Asking for Adobe Sign In

Hoping I can get some guidance from someone or even an Adobe tech?
Currently my problem is that after I install the DPS v29 tools from here (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=182&platform=Macintosh) my previously activated InDesign CS6 now prompts with the sign in window on every launch. Rebooting or clicking cancel does not rid me of the error.
I did have to script the update as AAMEE does not recognise the update?? (http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/deployment-dps-toolkit-update-aamee.html) and before running that script I had to change the AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat file.
My CS6 design standard package was created with AAMEE 3.1 Serial added, all updates applied, EULA and the improvement program disabled, air installers disabled, ignore conflicts ticked, update manager disabled.
So far I have tried the following
Using adobe_prtk unserialized and then serialized.
Updated AAM to version 7 from 6.2.112.0 wihch was installed when the package was created with AAMEE
Created a new Trial install of CS6 standard using AAMEE, applying the DPS update and then adding serial via adobe_prtk
All of these attempts to get InDesign CS6 back to an activated working state have failed.
Our estate is OSX 10.8.5, and I'm loosing the will to live with all this over engineered garbage that causes lost hours, days or even weeks of IT admins time and money.

Oh I see,
The window looks so similar to other activation windows, I had only ever seen the DPS login for CS5 which was in the Panel.
Be good for this window to have some text that relates to DPS. Maybe Sign in to DPS or you must sign in with an Adobe ID to use the Digital Publishing Suite and the Folio Builder.
