Transporting Classification Data Source

Hi Experts,
I am trying transport the Classification data source from ECD to ECQ. But the the affects are not visible in ECQ.
Please suggest some way to solve out this problem. Is there a different method for transporting the Classification Data Sources.

Hi,
Classification data sources need to be handeled in a different way.
You need to manually maintain the client in CTBW t-code in the each R/3 system after the transport to a new system.
classification data sources are client depdendent entries in CTBW table and table entries do not change when you transport them from one system to another.you have to do it manually in CTBW t-code in each system.
Also after changing client in each system you will have to generate it again.Only after generation it will beready for use.
See the notes 588184.It will solve your problem.

Error While Transporting export Data Source

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to transport a data source from development to quality system through acceptance box.
We need to transport an export data source which contains 40 fields. But when I captured the data source in development system and transported the same to acceptance box it's displaying only 38 fields. 2 Fields are missing from the data source which are present in development system and also source system of export data source.
Please suggest how to get these 2 fields in acceptance box.

Check if your data source extract structure is having all 40 fields.
Save and generate the data source again, replicate and then transport.

DYNPRO_SENT_IN_BACKGROUND Error while transporting XI data source

Hi Experts,
We are having an issue in in transporting XI data source in BI from Dev to Test. The error is geenrated during post handling of the transport, possibly while the data source is bing activated. Teh ST22 dump gives the DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND error. Following informaiton is available in the User Information section of ST22 dump.
Call Program........."CL_RSDS_WEBSERVICE============CP"
Function Module..... "RSDS_WS_WEBS_GENERATE"
Information on where terminated
    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLSTRD" - in "SYSTEM-EXIT".
    The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
    In the source code you have the termination point in line 0
    of the (Include) program " ".
Please give us your advice on how to nail down this issue.

Transporting migrated data sources from BID to BIQ

All,
I have a 3.x data source which I have migrated to 7.x. Now I want to transport this from BI-D to BI-Q. when I replicate the data source in BI-Q this is likely to be 3.x data source. Will it be overwritten when I transport the data source from BI-D to BI-Q. Is there any thing that I will have to do before moving the transport. Please advise

If you transport the DataSource on R3/ECC from development to QA that's connected to your BW QA, and then transport the DataSource from your BW development to QA environment, there is no need to replicate the DataSource. It may, however, come into your BW QA environment in a deactivated state. If that happens, just activate it in the BW QA environment using the SAP delivered ABAP program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL.

Transporting a Data Source and Hierachie to the Quality System

Hello,
i have following problem.
I want to transport a generic data source from our development system into the quality system.
In the development system the hierachie looks like
New-Hierroot
->CO
    ->ABB
         ->Datasource ABB
When i transport the data source into the quality system the hierache looks
New Hierroot
->Nodesnotconnected
->CO
      ->ABB
           ->Datasource ABB
How can i solve this problem? Transaction rsa9? We dont have business content on our r/3 systems and iam not allowed to change such settings...??

Problem while generating classification data-sources

Hi ,
I have one classification data-source 1CL_OVEN001 which is based on vendor master data and class type 10. I tried to added one field in this data-source . while generating data-source, I got some error like " Extractor can not be generated".
Then I searched on SAP site and got one note 1946309 . When I implemented this note and tried to generated data-source. Now I am getting another error.
"EXTRACT STRUCTURE IS NOT PERMITTED"
I have tried with several note but getting same error.
Please help.

What field you have added, if it is Keyfigure then make sure that you have added its unit.

Error while generating material classification data source in R/3

Hi,
I am trying to generate the data source for material classification in R/3.
I have created the data source entry in CTBW and added the classification fields required for the data source. But while generating the data source i am getting an error, which says "BW Metadata is incomplete".
Is there any step, that i have missed? Please advise what needs to be done.

The note seems to be quite old and may not be applicable since we are on the latest support pack.
We are using two different clients, one for configuration and the other for test data.

Transport Enhanced Data source - Urgent - Please help

I have enhanced a standard data source by adding few columns and implementing BADI, how can i transport this enhanced data source/ extractor to another server. currently when i see in SE10 i could see only the append structure name, when i released the transport the enhanced extract structure is not there instead the standard structure only i there, could you please tell how can i transport.

Hi,
First try to see the enhanced fields are available or not in original system by double clicking on the above datasource, if fields are available try to uncheck Filed option.
Once enhacement is done for the particular business content extractor, the enhanced fileds should show at the end of the extract structure using Append option.
if it is not showing means, fileds are not enhanced for that extract structure..
for that go to SE11-> give your exctract structure->in top most click on Append structure-> then give you enhanced structure name->activate..

Equipment is a master data object used in Plant Maintenance (PM) module. There are different types of equipments used like electric poles, transformers, vehicles, cables, switches etc. Electric poles will have attributes like base, height while transformer will have attributes like primary voltage, secondary voltage, etc. Hence attributes differ as the type of equipment differs. To cater to storing the information of all the types of equipments with their respective attributes, data is stored in classification system. In classification system, different classes are defined for particular entity. In this example entity is equipment, so different classes will be E_POLE, E_SWITCH, E_TRANSFORMER, etc. For each class, relevant characteristics are defined.

Probelms while replicating Data Source and transport into test system

I find the following error messages whilre transporting into test system.
DataSource 0EC_PCA_1 does not exist in source system of version A.
Mapping between data source 0EC_PCA_1 and source system is inconsistent.
DataSource 0EC_PCA_1 does not exist in source system of version A.
Field AFABE will not be delivered from DataSource 0EC_PCA_1 in source system.

Enhanced the Extract structure and activated the data source in Source system
Replicate the Data source in BI and install the Infosource through BI Content activated and transport them to Test system.

Hi,
1.First transport the data source from R/3 dev to R/3 quality
2.Replicate the data source in BI Quality ( make sure you that in the data source tab, you are searching the data source below the appropriate source system ---otherwise you data source may not appear)
3.goto rsd1in BI development for activataing the info objects which you have added extra in the info source (z info objects )
activate these info objects and collect in another request
4.transport these info objects from BI dev to BI quality
5.transport entire data source to bw quality.

Issue transporting data sources in BI 7.0

Hello guyz
This question is regarding transporting data sources for BI 7.0.
1. First we transport master data sources from ECC Dev to ECC QA.
2. In BI 3.x version, we would need to first replicate these data sources form ECC QA to BI QA.
3. Then we would release our BI transports, which had the transfer and update rules.
4. Do we need to do the same thing in BI 7.0?
5. My understanding is, we do step 1. But then we skip step 2 and just move the data source along with the transformations form BI Dev to BI QA.
6. Please not that we are doing a new implementation, so we are also migrating each and every datasource to its 7.0 version.
7. I just need the step by step method of transporting, (if needed replication and migrations steps) from DEV to QA in the new BI 7.0 world.

First you need to transport master data and then transactional data sources.
After transporting go to the target system and than replicate it.

Capturing Data Source Activation in a transport

Dear Gurus,
I 'm using the 0TR_LP_1 data source for my data loading and facing the following issue.
In DEV system , this data source have been activated by one of the developer but not captured in any of the transport request.
How can i capture the activation in another transport so that this data source can be activated in QAS and PRD system via transport.

You can fix this issue by following the below steps.
1--> Go to T code RSA6
2-> Find your data source --> Click on Object Directory Entry
4--> Change the package --> It will ask you for a transport
5--> Save it >Double click on your data source> Generate data socrce
6--> Then transport your data source
On the BW side
1--> Replicate data source
2--> If required reactivate transfer and communication structure using standrad programs.
This will solve your issue.

BW 7.0 data source activation - transport?

Hi Folks,
I am a bit confused with BW 7.0 data source. I replicated from my APO system and the data source is created in BW as 7.0 -> I choose background activation.
When I want to create an infopackage for the infosource I tells me that data source is not yet active.
So I went in and activated -> asked for a transport.
Question: do I have to transport the data source / after it is replicated on the next system (TEST)?
Or should the data source be normally active right after the replication?

yes. we have to transport the data source replica in BW after it is replicated on the next system (TEST).

Classification data transportation

hello everyone,
i am facing this issue of transporting classification data in release strategy. the value range in one approval level in QAS does not match with DEV. is it possible to transport classification values to QAS without using ALE?
or are there any other options?

Error while tansporting the Data Source & Transformation

Dear Experts,
I stuck in one problem. I just tried to transport one data source & its transformation fron BWD to BWQ. After importing the request, it throws an error (mentioned below):
Start of the after-import method RS_RSDS_AFTER_IMPORT for object type(s) RSDS (Activation Mode)
Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts
Error when activating DataSource ZMAT_MAPVL RQ1CLNT400
Start of the after-import method RS_TRFN_AFTER_IMPORT for object type(s) TRFN (Activation Mode)
No rule exists
Source RSDS ZMAT_MAPVL RQ1CLNT400 does not exist
Also i check the same data source on R/3 system where it is available in activated form. I also replicate the same & tried to transport it again on BWQ but still the same.
Please help me out.

Hi,
Did you check the 'Conversion of logical system names' option?, whether your source is mapped to correct R3 system?. If not please check and map with the correct R/3 Quality system and sometimes there may be more than one R/3 system connected to quality, if so remove the wrong one.
For Password logon no longer possible, please check your RFC connection(SM59) by selecting the option Remote logon, it shd give you the error. As background user got locked it seems. Please check.
