Transporting Content

We have a requirement to transport existing BSP applications, all relevent content and dependent objects from an ECC 6.0 system to another ECC system. I'll appreciate if someone can explain the step by step procedure to achieve this and any dependency we need to take care of..Thanks in anticipation!..

This same like moving normal ABAP objects.
Is it custom BSP Application?
Make sure your below things are clubbed into same request, since they are dependent:
1. SICF settings for BSP
2. BSP Application
3. Model Class Or Application class
4. Make sure if have any custom FM or custom DDIC element used.

  • Transporting content in KM

    Hello All,
I am new to KM and was searching for info on how to transport KM objects (documents, folders, permissions..) from DEV to QA. I think I read some documentation which states that only objects in the PCD can be transported, which means that KM files and folders cannot be transported.
But I am also seeing older threads in this forum which state that the KM content can be transported through ICE.
I would like to confirm this information - and would also like to know what exactly is the content that can be transported between systems?
    Thanks in advance.
    Sudha

    Hi Sudha,
Yes you can transport content between systems using ICE.
Please refer to the following link

  • Problem in transporting contents of a table

    Hi All,
I want to transport the contents of a table from development server to quality server.
I used transaction SE16 and clicked on display entries. It gave a menu called transport entries where it gave a prompt for a workbench request. I created the workbench request for the table entries.
When I was transporting the request, I checked the task under the request.  The request was in the modifiable task. It contained the entry for table contents namely R3TR TABU TABLENAME . After I released the task, I found that this entry for table contents namely R3TR TABU TABLENAME disappeared. Please could someone tell me why this is happening.
Please could someone tell me if we should create a workbench request or a customizing request for  transporting the contents of a table.
Apart fom SE16, which other method can we use to transport contents of a table ?
    Regards,
    Sushanth H.S.

    Hello Sushant
    >But even after doing so, when I clicked on SE16 and clicked on transport entries in the display menu of the >table, it was asking me for a workbench request and not a customizing request. Please could you tell me >the reason for the same.
Based on this description your scenario looks like this:
You have a z-table (now client-dependent) and maintain this table using a maintenance or table view.
The only explanation I have for the behaviour of the system is that your client-dependent z-table has NOT delivery class = 'C' (Customizing) but probably 'A' (Application table instead).
That's ok because I usually do define z-tables having delivery class = 'A' even if the table contents is used for some kind of customizing.
Reason: I do no want to encounter all the restrictions for C-class tables in productive system.
However, if your z-table contains very sensitive data you may explicitly choose delivery class = 'C'.

  • Transport content between two Portals (DEV - Prod)

    Hi Everybody,
how can i transport a content from one Portal to another one? I heard there is a possibility in Visual Admin for transport Content between a Development and a Productive System.
I know only the way by Federated Portal Network. Is this the only possibility and what about KM-Konfiguration is there a way for transporting?
    regards,
    Seed

you can download and upload your portal  transports.
    System administrator -> transport.
KM folders: you can just copy everything by open the KM dir as a webfolder.

  • ICE adds "xml" extension to transported content

    Hi all,
We migrate KM content from EP6 to EP7. We use standard repository "/documents".
When we transport documents the target portal identify them as xml files and doesn't open them.
    See snapshot: http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/1756/65621006tj1.jpg
    For example:
    1.doc --> 1.doc.xml
    2.xls --> 2.xls.xml
    3.tif --> 3..tif.xml
If we'll try to open a document with "save as" instead of clicking it, it will work (it the "save as" we'll save it with the correct extension) so content is not corrupted.
    Please help,
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi,
i tried to do offline transport, then I opened the 'fullupdate.zip' file and it appears that file type is wrongly set to XML:
    <ice-item item-id="/documents/Committees/10/file.TIF" name="wcm-acls" content-type="text/xml" content-transfer-encoding="base64">
How do I fix it? (it this example the mime type should be image/tiff (I would like to fix it globally for all file types).
    Thanks,

  • Transport content of Web Page Composer

    Hi,
I want to transport web page composer content from the development environment to our test environment, how can this be done? I already tried using ICE but when I test it in the test environment no content is displayed, I assume it's because of some generated GUIDs.
    Bye,
    Timo

    Hi,
In that case you might want to consider transporting through CTS+.
Anyway, transporting Web page composer content is not different than transporting any other KM content.
Please make sure you have followed [this procedure|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/47/276706548a2deae10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm] and in case you have please specify what exactly is not working in the target system. For example, if you go to /wpccontent repository can you see the content there at all?

  • Problem with transporting Content

    Hello experts,
I have problems transporting my content from BW1 to BW2.
I collected my content objects in Transport Connection of BW1 and transported them to BW2.
Everything worked fine. I could use my content in RSA1 of BW2.
But when I transported my content objects again from BW1 to BW2 after I had deleted all my content objects from BW2, the content doesn't show up anymore in RSA1. What went wrong?
    Anny suggestions?
    Thanks
    Hiza

    Hi,
I suppose the method of reimport could solve the problem.
Have you selected the option of "import transport request again" while importing it the second time.
Only once you do this the contents will get transported.

  • Two SLDs with separate XI-systems behind - transport content

    Hello,
we have two SLDs, one for dev. Xi and one for prod XI.
So per SLD only one XI is known.
On SLD dev we implemented all required R/3 systems and included the transport groups to the systems and the transport connection (dev. syst to prod. syst).
So here the prod R/3 has as connected XI the dev XI!
Now we want to move the content of the dev SLD to the prod SLD.
What will happen to the related XI system in the business systems.
Do we have only have to change them in the destination prod. SLD?
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi Shankar,
thanks for the detailed work on my question.
Unfortunately it wasn´t me who had to organize the environment.
Customer made the installation and then was asking for external consultancy.
So the situation was fixed a little bid away from simple logic.
For a go live at end of the year we will use this construction.
Next year customer plans to implement a new central SLD (including portals issues).
Then we will do another move with our SLD content.
Until then customers Xi guys can train a little bit on moving SLD content
to ensure that both SLDs have the same systems implemented.
    Only to complete that:
To use transport groups you need prod XI and dev XI both on one SLD else you cannot link the R/3 systems to dev and prod area because transport groups have to be linked to the XI systems on the SLD.
So, my question was a little bit useless!
We had no prod XI available on the dev SLD.
From this issue my question was coming up.
We will add the dev XI to the prod SLD too.
Then moving content won´t cause any problems, I think!

    Dirk

  • Transport content

after development how is content transfered from devlop sys to qual sys if we go to sys admin>transport export -->how to identify the content that we developed --

    Hello Samyuktha,
You can create the .epa file from these iViews and import this .epa file in another portal.
For converting the business objects into the .epa file please refer to this link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c6/0f6fbbee629a43aca05c38db556b5d/frameset.htm
For transporting first you have to create packages. You can do so by follow these steps:
System Administration -> Transport -> Transport Packages -> Export.
After that on the other portal Server perform these steps:
System Administration -> Transport -> Transport Packages -> Import.
Now all the content will be transported to ur new system.
However you have to create Systems and Jco connections again.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to transport content from a NWDI to a nes NWDI

    Hi
I have an old installation on a server with bad responses and have installed and configured a new NWDI on another server.
I need to export the development component from the old one to the new one.
Hov to export content from NWDI?
    Regards
    Kay-Arne

    Hi,
    I would try this way....
--> Create new track, setup new buildspace, workspace on the  CBS/DTR of the new NWDI server.
    And then for content copy..
--> Download the asembled SCAs from the old NWDI server and check it in in my new track OR
--> sync the content from old NWDI server to the local filesystem and then upload/add it to the new track with the help of NWDS as described here:

  • Transporting content BI 7.0 to BI 7.01 Ehp1

    Dear All
our exsisting system runs on BI 7.0 .. we are planing to do afreash insotalation of BI 7.01 EHP1 and we wnat to  know the technical fesibility of transporting exsiting Zdevelopments ( Cubes), Standard SAP Cubes , VC models ,Dashboards in BI 7.0 to implementing new BI 7.01 Ehp1 system?
is there any SAP recomendation/ Toll which we can used to copy all the developemnts / Cubes /modesl from older version to BI newer version?
Can we copy all the models/Roles in exsitinf BI 7.0 Portal to New BI 7.01 Portal?
when we copy/migrate/transport will the older developments work in new BI 7.01 Ehp1 envirnment? any changes / modifications need to be done? appreicate if you could send me some SAP note/ Link to get more presious information+ your Expert comemnt is highly appreciated
    Regards
    Buddhike

    Hi,
SAP does not recommend transport between systems having different releases as version of the objects, programs etc. will be different.
Why don't you upgrade your existing BI 7.0 to BI 7.1 system to avoid all these things ?
    Thanks

  • How to view the content (contained objects) of transport files without importing?

    Hi,
we do often receive transport files (DATA and CODILE) from third parties.
If is is done correctly the supplier of the transport files devliver also additional information about the detailed content of the transport, e.g object lists as plain text file, so that we are informed which objekts will be imported in advance.
But some suppliers don't. Or we want only check, if additional info and real transport content match.
So for that reason  I am looking for a possible way to view the object list of such transports without adding it to the import queue or importing it to a sandbox system or even add it to the import buffer..
Most likely this should be done by a standalone tool (on Windows) or a tool running on SAP accessing the transportfiles (preference: stored only on the client PC  and not added to the transport directory)
So my question is: Is there any tool that can extract the object list from the transport files and display it?
    Helst regards
    Helmut Fischer

    Helmut,
If you don't have access to the server console, it might be possible to 'trick' tp into working from a workstation, but I wouldn't bet on it. You'd have to fake up a profile for it. I haven't tried this.
Peering into the contents of a delivered transport file would be something that your Basis team would typically do. My suggestion is to work with them, either to use tp command-line option from the server console, or if that's not reasonable, then yes, go ahead and add it to the import queue of one of your sandbox systems. You can always delete it from the queue again later. If you don't actually import it, it isn't going to hurt anything.
To do any of these options is going to require some level of filesystem access to your transport host, as you need to copy the two files that make up the transport there. You need to put the 'K' file into \usr\sap\trans\cofiles and the 'R' file into \usr\sap\trans\data. Then, you can either use the tp command-line tool, or you can go into STMS, go into the import queue of any system in the transport domain (so a sandbox is fine), and use Extras... Other Requests... Add and type in the transport request ID. Yes, this adds some entries about the transport into a few tables, but it doesn't actually import the transport, and it doesn't change anything about your system. It just allows the transport to show up as importable in the queue, and that will make it so that you can read the object list of the transport. Then, if you decide not to import it, you can delete it from the queue, and your system is back to the way it was before. Also, doing this will not put the transport into any other system's queue. Even if you import the transport (into a sandbox system), it won't show up in any other system's queue until you forward it.
    Regards,
    Matt
