Transporting general hierarchy's (MCK1)

Hi all, I have created a general hierarchy on our dev system using MCK1, but it did not go into a transport. Does anyone know if it is possible to transport this or do i need to create it directly in the QAS system.

Question : How can we extract this product hierarchy into BI ?
Following Extractors required a Hierarchies: Name of the hierarchy to extractor the hierarchy.

Using general hierarchy of sales information system

Hi,
The sales manager uses oftenly the general hierarchy in order to sort the information that could extract from sales information system.
So, firstly he uses the tranasction MCK1 to create a hierarchy and after that he executes the transaction MCSI in order to extract sales information.
So my question is, how can use the hierarchy in a abap program? I want to offer the hierarchy as selection parameter.

Thank you for your answer but my question has not been answered.
The hierarchies i am talking are in table MCSHIERK. When i use program RGSEX000 i can not use the hierarchies of table MCSHIERK.

Hello Anne,
we are facing the same issue. We have a customer hierarchy in ECC that has been structured as a general hierarchy, rather than the normal KNVH. We want to map that somehow to CRM.
Initial solution outlines:
1) create a custom program that converts the general hierarchy to a normal customer hierarchy in KNVH, then use the standard program to download that to CRM account hierarchies
2) create a custom program to map the general hierarchy to CRM (to some structure)
Can you please tell how you covered your need?

Use the Message type GLCORE / GLMAST to upload
you can transport the GL master data - - - this is through the ALE set up. ABAPer has to set up the ALE set up
As a testing part before setting up the client you just try this in the sending server you will get created with IDoc for the above Messge type

Hello Jair,
Hierarchies cannot be transported. You have to create it in Prod and upload the data again. Have a look at this thread.

Hierarchies are not transported in BW , barring BCS hierarchies which can be transported with nodes,leaves along with data.
Many ways doing it ,if you search on forum term "Transport Hierarchy".
Best practise is to download a hierarchy in the Flat File and then upload it .There is How to document on service market place to download hierarchy in to flat file as below-

You can also generate export datasource for the hierarchy and use it to upload the same.

Transport DataSouorce Hierarchy (RSA6)

Hello gurus,
I am finding a difficulty to transport the datasource (RSA6)list from R3 system.
I created a custom node (say XXX) under SAP (main Node) in Tcode rsa6. And I assigned all the custom datasources to that node. When I transport the datasource to QA, node XXX is under NODESNOTCONNECTED Node.
In QA system when I open the datasource and say display then there is an error message "There is no Component by name XXX"
Can you please help me out onthis.

or run transaction se03 >> change object directory entry, in next screen, last blank line, entry object type DSAA, object APCO (or APCO_MERGED) then change object directory entry / package from $TMP to your package.
after replicate datasource in bw, you need to click 'reload tree', rsa1->source system->source system overview. also check note 534894

Solution
Create a transport request in the OLTP System and manually insert the following transport object:
R3TR DSAA APCO
As a result, the active version of the application component hierarchy is transported. The active version is the one you call from transaction RSA8 or from the IMG (transaction SBIW) -> 'Postprocessing DataSources'-> 'Changing application component hierarchy'.
If you want to transport the inactive version (version "D"), the transport object is:

Transport general question

Hi eveyone,
I have a module pool program which has undergone quite a few changes. It has been moved to QAS quite a few no of times.
now they lost the sequence of transport to move in to PRD.
I have couple of questions.
First i have a transport lets say devk1 which includes a module pool program i.e screen 1,screen2, io1,o01,top,f01 i.e incudes everything.
This has been released to QAS.
Now i created a new transport LETS SAY DEVK2 which includes modification to ALL I.E SCREEN 1, SCREEN2,I01,O01,F01,TOP and moved into qas.
Now QAS has devk1 initial and devk2 latest.
DO WE NEED TO MOVE DEVK1 FOLLOWED BY DEVK2 or i should be ok only if we move devk2 in to prd.
Let me know,iam new to this field and all sort of questions keep poping out to me.

Yes you can move only dev2 transport to PRD if you are sure that there are no other objects related to zprgm in dev1 transport.
If there are no dependent objects in dev1 transport for zprgm then I dont see any issues with that in PRD. It will not end up with transport errors.
If you miss some objects then you will get some errors, and you have to move all those dependent objects in another transport which will up fix those errors occured during moving the transport dev2 to PRD and will activate the zprgm program.

XI Transports general question (SLD / CTS+)

Hi all, I ve the both following question : (it is not clear for me)
1) Does CTS+ transport management use SLD transport and target data linked with business system to adapt XI configuration (ID) regarding Business sender and receiver systems ?????
2) One of my customer want to install only 2 XI system.
- 1 linked with Dev & Quality R/3 environment
- 1 linked with production R/3 system
Is it possible regarding SLD content ?
How must the transports be managed in this case using CTS ?

Can you please let me know how can we build this activity?
1. Create a general hierarchy (transaction MCK1): do not add data to this hierarchy as it is only used as a container to pass data to BW.
2. Generate a DataSource hierarchy (transaction BW10) for your data element
3. Add abap coding to user exit EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004: Get the data from the tables where the hierarchy is stored (in my case it was LFMH) and load it into the standard table from the user exit (ROSHIENODE,...)

I dont want to create in BW, must be created in ECC.

There is no standard ECC transaction/program for copying a general hierarchy.
You need to develop custom program copying data from following tables:
MCSHIERB Tree for general hierarchy
MCSHIERBT Texts for general hierarchy tree
MCSHIERK Header of general hierarchy

Transporting Hierarchy Variables

In the Report I have a free Characteristcs Cost Center.In the selection Screen for this Cost Center we have Provided Selection from Hierachy view and range for Cost Center.We transported this hierarchy variables to target system.The transport is succefully completed .But the New variable change is not reflecting in the Target System query.Can anybody please help.

We have one more similar issue while transporting our requests.We have added two info obiects in the free characterisitics pane.We have collected query in a transport request .and transported it from Development to Quality.The query exists in active as well as modified version in both dev and Quality.But the query elements which we have added exist only in modified version in Quality.Our changes are not getting reflected in Quality.Do we have to collect the active entry for that query element and transport it in order to make it active in Quality?Could someone pls help me out with this?
