Transporting Hierachies created directly in BW

Hi,
Can anyone confirm whether we are able to transport hierarchies that have been created directly into BW? There are a couple that I would like to move forward from development.
If not I assume the only way is to export them as a flat file and re-load (have seen the 'how to' guide).
any help appreciated,

Hi, You can transport Hierarchies from dev. system to qa/prod system. There will be document 'how to transport hierarchies?' available in the site- compendit.com.

My customer has created a new entry in LS10 u2013 Create Storage Bin Automatically in the development system with a transport order.
He forgot to do Environment u2013 Create bins. I did it with my user in the development system and SAP has created the bins automatically (the system creates and launch a batch-input). The system did not ask me for a transport order (I think because this created data is master data).
The user has transported the transport order from development to quality system but the Storage Bins are not in QAS. I told to the user that the Storage Bin are master data and we has to do Environment u2013 Create bins in each new environment but LS10 transaction has status 'not modifiable' in quality and production system.
There is a way to transport the created Storage Bin Automatically from development to quality and production? Now the user is asking me to have the Storage Bins in quality and production with access LS10 in status 'not modifiable'.

I could not transport them but I have created the storage bin directly in QAS with LS05 because LS10 is not available.

I don't think PNPCE does anything with HRP infotypes. PNPCE is all about PA data since PERNR is the main key. Logical DB PCH is the one that deals with HRP Infotypes.

Import stops with 'Transport set created, exported, and submitted...'

Hi,
I'm using Oracle Portal 10.1.4, and I've successfully imported page groups into this portal before, but now when I try to do an import, I only see the following message in the 'Browse Transport Sets' page:
Import: Transport set created, exported, and submitted to background process for import.
This is true for new page groups and for page groups that should be replaced. Any ideas?
What is the background process? How do I get it started, if it has failed? How can I remove the transport set that is in this 'Import' status. Any help appreciated.

Hi J,
For me if this is happening is cause problably something hang on your side while doing the Portal Export / Import. Not sure how it happened but I've seen this happening for other persons. The easiest way is to clean up the Portal Transport Set tables. Upload the DMP to the Portal again and attempt to merge it again.
There is an out dated Note in the Metalink for this, but I'd basically submit a Service Request as Oracle Support may better help you on this matter and eventually update the old Note -- Note:177597.1 - How to clean up the Oracle Portal Transport Tables.

my understanding is that if an order has a negative value then we can say it is an "order in waiting " and has not translated into reality. hope my guess is rite ! in rrps under receipts i could see many negative receipts .....which roughly translates into "waiting planned orders " ie waiting to be translated into actual planned order. .?? hope i got my point rite

Transport Request is generated in following scenarios:
1. Customizing Request - When doing or changing some customization.
2. WorkBench Request - When configuration is cross-client. Eg Generating new Table, making changes in access sequence, Abap development, etc.
Transport Request is released through SE10, to be transported to Quality & production server.
Configuration of Transport Request System is configured by Basis consultant. Basis Consultant is also responsible for transporting the Transport request from Development server to Quality & Production.
Transport request is not generated for Master Data. For eg: Customer Master, Material Master, price master, etc.
Benefit of Transport Request:
SAP Landscape normally has 3- Tier system:
Development Server - Where customization takes place. Transport request is generated at this level & then first transported to Quality server for testing whether it meets the requirement or not. Once the requirement is met in Quality server then Request is transported from Development Server to Production Server (Actual / Live System)
Quality Server - Mainly useful for testing.
Production Server Actual / Live server, where the real transactions are created & posted.

When I using the Create Direct Database Request, how can I specify a variable which can used to receive multiple input value?
My SQL like this:
select... from table t1 where t1.c1 in('@{v_c1}{001})
where, v_c1 is the variabe name, 001 is the defaut value of the variable.
But, it doesn' work.
If it's the systax error, then how can I correct it?

Second thing is go to Administration/Manage privileages/Direct database privileage is there.

It can be transferred from one server to another server or else you can upload the structure in production directly in the sequece order
in order to transfer from server to server check RHMOVE00 Report Read the documentation
in order to upload directly in prd upload objects first , later relationships for that objects

Need a way to get the datasources in R/3 DEV which are created directly in R/3 Prod

Hi Experts,
We have done cloud migration recently. The exact scenario is as follow :
We have tacken system copy of original BI PROD to BI DEV, QA and PROD on cloud.
But for R/3 we have tacken system copy of original R/3 DEV to Cloud R/3 DEV.
But the problem is, before migration we had created some datasources directly in original R/3 PROD. Hence those datasources are not present in R/3 DEV on cloud because its a system copy of original R/3 DEV. (But BI DEV is system copy of original BI Prod ).
We can not take system copy of R/3 Prod to R/3 DEV because we have done large developements in R/3 DEV after migration which we dont want miss.
Now our concern is how we can get those missing datasources back to cloud R/3 DEV.
Please let us know if there is any way in which we can get them from R/3 Prod or any other solution ??

Hi,
In SAP you cannot do any postings either to customer or vendor. Customer postings happen only while creating billing documents in VF01.
As far as vendor postings are concerned, The postings happen in MIRO transaction.
The scenario you have mantioned is not possible the way you want it.
But if you use transportation in Logistics execution, then actual freight charges can be posted to vendor account after shipping cost document T.Code: VI01 is posted.

S_RFCACL - RFC_SYSID values transport or maintain directly in each system?

I have a sort of Best Practice question about the S_RFCACL object.
As all our authorisation roles are created in Development and then transported across Quality to Production, the object S_RFCACL, which is needed for our users, is maintained also with the relevant Development, Quality and Production system IDs in the field RFC_SYSID.
This field contains the source Development, Quality and Production system IDs to enable the trusted RFC for our users in each of these systems.
I would like to have the source Production system ID in S_RFCACL ONLY in the target Production system, similarly for the source Quality and source Development system. So that trusted RFC connections are definitely only possible from source Production system to target Production system.
This would mean that S_RFCACL would have to maintained directly in each of the target systems, instead of transporting it.
How do you handle this object, this field RFC_SYSID in particular?

Yes you do have to manage the users separately sometimes in your differing systems, but if the only difference is the RFC connectivity then you only need to create a single role with that required attribute.
Remember role security is cumulative and a composite role is only a container. You could just as easily assign the 20 single roles in that composite and get the same affect to a user...you do not have to create a composite role for every single role you maintain.
From a realistic prospective, your main end user population will only require access to your QAS environment for testing and validation purposes and that population should be small since only a few designated users will be doing validation and testing in QAS. The DEV environment is just that, for development. The user base in there should be even smaller then QAS as very few "end users" will be working on development projects in there...this is were your support personnel will be mainly working.
If you find yourself loading all of your PRD users into QAS and DEV then I would really question what the purpose is for.
I would also say that since these systems will most likely not contain any sensitive data then you may only need one role that contains S_RFCACL with both the QAS and DEV systems identified so that you know those users when assigned this single role will get that access.

Transport table entries directly from table with field added from append S

Guys, I have changes one standard table , I mean I use append structure and add a new field in to that . As this is T* ( text table ) , it also V ( view ) but as I change the field in T* table . I went in to table and maintain entries directly into table . After that I go to menu and select all the entries and as I want to push it to my test client . I create the entries and then I transport it to test . When I saw the table that entries were missing. Then I saw my existing transport in SE10 & SE09 and I notice it just transport the Keys fields content and its not transporting the new field content which I add as append structure .
Do you guys have any idea .how to transport those entries?

Itll behave in the same way , even you give "*" in your transport . Do one thing go to table, double click on your structure and once youre in structure <b>Go to->Extras->Enhancement category
And select radio button 1 or 2 and try again </b>

Transport indexes created on a table?

Hi All,
I have created indexes on one of the database tables (/bic/azmm_o0200 active table of ODS), is it transportable? or is it something we create in production?
if it is transportable, please explain how to transport this to QA?

It depends on whether you created the indices on the application side (in ODS change screen) or directly at the database level (SE14).
If created through application, these changes need to be transported. On other hand if you have created indices directly on the table in the database, they are created in manually in each system. Hope this helps!
