Transporting SolMan Project

Hi Gurus,
Does anybody have the success story of transporting SolMan projects from one SolMan system to the other?
I have read that it is possible. Also have heared that lot of people are facing lot of issues while transporting. So, looking forward for some expert advise.

But as I told you, I have heared people saying that it is possible. But I also have heared people saying that they are facing one or the other problem like:
Structure got transported, but not documents
(ii) Only released docs can be transported, etc.
In the link specified by you, again the issue has not got resolved. The user has got the error of "specify transport target". But as said in the forum it looks more like a Basis issue.
Thats why, I am looking for somebody to confirm me, "Yes it is possible. And these are all the prerequisites for successful transport".

Transporting SolMan project with Aris integration to new SolMan system

We have a sandbox SolMan that was installed for temporary use, and some people on the team have done some process modeling with Aris. We need to move this to a new SolMan development system that we're about to install. I haven't really found good documentation on doing this, but in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, I do have the option to transport a complete project. Can I do this, and then manually import that transport request into the new Dev system? What has to be done on the Aris side to insure consistency?

There is not a lot of information about this topic. Just finished a project migration at the customer site. I used the solar_migration transaction, worked very good. But has some downsites, test plans are not migrated anc change documents. Be carefully with content repository this really painful. Even the Aris synchronisation worked because the SAP ids are not replaced.

Solman project transport from one server to another

Hi All,
i have a small query , regarding project management . I have a Template project with some manually designed tamplate inside that. and test case created.
Now i want to move this project with all config. , selected template and test case from one server my another solman server.
I am hoping transport icon given below in solar_project_admin will work for me . please confirm me and let me know if other options too available . can i use solar_migration for this activity ??
please suggest all possible way for export (transport) this project from one server to another.

Unfortunately, transaction SOLAR_MIGRATION is not released to be used in the Solution Manager 4.0/7.0 and therefore is not supported.

Besides the "Transport Project" functionality in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN for projects and the transport of testpalns from transaction STWB_2 there is no other function available/supported at the moment.
you have to make sure that you have in the source system the corrections from the notes:
for Projects:
1147186 Unreleased documents are not transported
1119462 Problems transporting projects
1134578 Document types missing when transporting projects
For Testplans/testpackages:
1224283 Test plan incomplete after transport
1246383 Transport connection for test documents in test plan

Problem in Transporting LSMW project

Hi,
We created LSMW project in development environment. Then we created Transport request through menue Extras -> Create Change Request
We successfully transported this request to test environment. When status is checked through STMS_IMPORT everything was fine. However when we tried to open project through LSMW, it didn't exist.
Can anyone suggest, what could have gone wrong ?

if your problem is not allready solved.
You can not transport LSMW-Project - I do not know what this icon is for.
You have to export the project and than import on the new system.

Solar_project_admin to transport whole project

We have some documentation in Solution Manager (in transaction "solar02"). It is version 3.1 we are using.
We have to transport Documentation of project "smart" to a newer Solution Manager(version 3.2). However project "smart" exists aso on newer Solution Manager system but can be overwritten.
I am pritty new in Solution Manager.
I wander if transport function (track icon) can be used in transaction "solar_project_admin" to transport whole project to transport files and then import them to newer Solution Manager

as per above link u can try with option
1.
use Tcode - SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN
1. Select the project in the project overview.
2. Choose the Transport Project pushbutton or Project ® Transport.
3. Specify the transport scope in the following dialog box. To transport the project without project documentation, reset the With Notes flag. The project documentation is transported by default.
4. Specify a transport request or create a new one.
5. Save your entries.

How to offline transport ESS project?

Hello experts,
I had configurated NWDI , created track, download develop configuration into NWDS , created ESS project, then modify some ESS project .Of course , I had created some activities for my modify of ESS project.
I had deployed my changes by "Development Componnent -> Build/Deploy " to development system .
But our product system was in another LAN , and the message server port was forbidden by firewall.So I can't deploy the modified ESS project by NWDI transport or NWDS directly deploy.
Is there any offline solution to transport my modified ESS project to production system ?
I had builded the ESS project by "Development Componnet -> Build ", then got the .ear file . Then deploy the ear file with SDM, deploy was succeded , but the ESS project was not updated in production system.
I also deployed ear file with visual admin deploy service , it occured error "Can't conver file ..... " , can't deploy.
Then I used "create archive" to create ear file of ESS project, and deployed with SDM and visuam admin deploy service.
Deploy with SDM was also succssed ,but project was not updated; deploy with visual admin deploy service ,also got error "Can't convert file ....".
Could you please give a suggestion about offline transport ESS project ? Thanks.

Do you have CTS configured in your landscape?
You can also achieve your Java transports using CTS.
If it is configured, then you can choose the option.
"Connect to CTS" option inside General Track Data of your Track, in Landscape Configurator from CMS Web UI.

Export of SOLMAN-project

Does some one know how to export the SOLMAN project with existing documents and structure on OS-Level?
The transaction solman_migration gives the opportunity to export only few files...

Hi Thom,
if I get it right, you are only interested in the documents, not the structures, Business blueprint etc.
I have recently used the SAP Knowledge Workbench. It is an MS-Windows base program the can be found under:
Programs -> SAP Front End -> SAP Knowledge Warehouse -> Knowledge Workbench
You can download all ducuments that are assigned to a project to your local disk or network drive. Using it for the first time is a bit cryptic so I recommend reading the SAP Notes 336968 , 196078 and 817529.

Assign CS-Project to SolMan Project

Hello together,
i'm looking for a way to assign a SAP CS - project to an Solution Manager project in order to provide detailed task and ressource planning and cost collection. I was not able to find any settinga in SOLUTION_PROJECT_ADMIN, RMMAIN, SOLAR01 or SOLAR02.
Is there an extension to the current SolMan project reporting tool to include actual costs and service charges from the corresponding CS-Project.
I'm using Solution manager 7.01 EHP1 and ERP 6.0 EHP3

Hope There is no direct link to assign SAP CS Project to Solman Project.
Both are different activities.
Through the RFC SAP can be linked to Solution Manager. In Solution Manager, Creation of Project ( SOLUTION_PROJECT_ADMIN) is the first step. for which the project can be furhter useful for Project Documentation ( Business Process Repository), Creation and Assign of Road Maps ( Upgrade Projects) etc.,
But once your Logical System is assigned to Solution Manager.Based on your Roles and Authorizations you can directly go to the Satelite System ( SAP R/3).

I development 100 wdj component and deployed them to development server(A_development_server).
I have download sca file of my WDJ project from A_development_server.
I have config the SLD and Track in the other development server(B_development_server).
I don't know how to transport the project code from A_development_server to B_development_server for download the project code ?

You can directly deploy project from A_development_server to B_development_server. For that you need to Define Runtime details under RUNTIME tab in landscape configurator for B_development_server in CMS. To access CMS, go through http://host:port/devinf

How to transport Implementation project template changes?

Hello All,
I have made changes to the project template (added doc types, assigned status schemas) for Implementation projects in my dev system by going to SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN > Goto > Project Template > Implementation projects. I want these values to be the standard values whenever I start a new Implementation project.
When I save my changes, I am not prompted for a transport request, nor can I find any transport option in the menu. Do these project templates need to be manually configured in my test and production systems, or is there another way of assigning the changes to a transport that I cannot figure out?

Just enable the GLOBAL field for the values which you want to be available for all the implementation projects.
e.g
You created a documentation type which is having global field tick so it will be available for all

Error when transport LSMW project

Error description:
When set up LSMW project in develop system, it is all right. But when transport to production system, its file path shows wrong. It looks the same as in Develop system. Now We delete the file path in P-System and re-create new file path the same as before, it can work. How could we solve this problem?

Hi,
LSMW is a transaction, which will let you mass upload almost any other transaction (FB01, FD01, AS91, etc.). You do it in the following way:
1. Enter into transaction LSMW (no menu path), possibly in a development / test system
2. First, define a project, subproject and object (relatively formal task).
3. On the horizontal menu, go to Goto -> Recordings. Click on "Create recording".
4. Enter the name and description of recording (freely definable).
5. I cannot simulate this now in my system, but SAP will ask you about transaction code (AS02) and will take you into the AS02 transaction. In this step, do the change manually. Make sure you "touch" (change / write something) in all fields which you want to update.
6. Once you are done, save the recording and return on the start page of LSMW. Click "Execute".
7. You will see a list of tasks. Do them one by one. They should be relatively simple (and I cannot help you with them). Important is step 3 (maintain source fields) - here you define the columns of your excel (csv) file in the particular order. In step 5 (field mapping and conversion rule), you assign file columns to SAP fields (note that you will see only those fields which you "touched" during recording). You need to go through all the steps. In the end, you get (and run) a batch session.
8. If you did this in a development system, transport the LSMW object (menu Extras - Export project, Extras - Import project). You have to do it via file, not via standard transports of configuration (it is perhaps more simple). 
Make sure you test it first in development or quality system!

RFC_NO_AUTHORITY during ChaRM Activation for SolMan project

We are trying to create a solution manager project and activating ChaRM for the project. Upon project creation, this error occurs:
Landscape being used is: SCM Dev > SCM Test > Virtual System PRD (based in the solman system where this project is created). RFC_NO_AUTHORITY issue is being faced under the SCM Dev System. (*DD)

How to transport LSMW project

Can LSMW project be transported? If the answer is yes, how ?

Step 2 Export from client where LSMW is recorded
Step 3 Import in the client where LSMW is to be transported to.

Newly created task does NOT show up at SOLMAN project

We have CHARM configured.
However, the newly created task cannot be seen at SOLAMN's project. The existing tasks showed without issues.
What could be the reason? Thanks!!

Transporting Projects in SolMan

Hi,
I have a simple question regarding the transporting of project templates between SolMan systems.
I understand that it is a best practice to have the source and target system at the same patch level when performing this task.
Does anyone know if it is this process is backwards compatibile? In other words, is there a risk if I am transporting to a target system that is at a high patch level? (NW70 EHP1 SP20 --> NW7- EHP1 SP22).
Is there an OSS note that addresses this issue for NW70? I haven't found a note newer than 603336.

Hi William,
Please refer Note Note 1090842 - Composite note: Transport across several releases . Ideally target system should be equal patch level . If it is lower , then it would be complex and probably you cannot . If it is higher, we can have a try I guess . But you may need manual modification , some times.
