Transports: BEx Objects

While trying to transport some bex objects, I had to attach them to an existing Request. Is there a way I can create my own request for Bex Objects ??

Farhan,
go to RSA1->Transport Connection->BEX (button with truck)...here you can see if you already have an available BEx request...if not create from this screen and then use it when the system gives you the option to choose a request...if yes, you can use this request to put your BEx objects ! (but in this last case, I would suggest to you to delete it from SE10 since you can run the risk to transport undesired object in your production environment!)
Hope it helps!
Bye,
Roberto

  • Correct order for transporting BEx objects

    Hello-
I have to transport following objects. They are all in separate transports. Can you tell me the correct order?
    Variables.
    User exit variables

    Calculate key figures
    Structures
    Queries
    Query views
    Workbooks
    Web templates
    Thanks in advance.

can i start with cross questioning..
hw did u collect all these objects seperately in different requests.
as far as i know if u know u r transporting workbook and webtemplate, in same request collect all the objects
so all variables used within, all CKF,RKF formulaes, variables, user exits etc within the workbook or webtemplate
u can transport within same request
so u dnt hv to worry about elements used within and u jst hv to transport all together within same request
    if tht doesnt solve
try to remove objects from request
    login to se10
    go to ur request
    delet it and unlock it
and try to create new reqest and cllect all elements within 1 request and transport it.

  • Transporting BEx objects: objects not showing in request

I created a new request for Bex. but when i display the request in se10, i dont see the objects that I assigned to it. why is that

First you need to make sure you have written all your objects in one request and assigned to a transportable development class/package. If the request you have created is a local change request (you can see this in SE10), then delete this request or if it's a transportable request (when you click on the request, properties, you see a target client) then you have already assigned your objects to a transportable package, you can release this and then have it imported into your target system.
Alternatively you can delete your request(s), and then goto transport connector, accumulate the objects you need, when you scroll to the right you see a column by name "package", make sure you have the right package for all the objects (you can change the package name by right clicking and change the package) for all the objects and click on transport icon which will prompt you for a transport request or you can transport by using BEx transport (shiftctrl0). Hope it helps,

  • Transporting BeX requests into Quality from Dev

    Hi All,
I want to know while transporting the BeX requests, is there any special procedure ?
I have created the BeX transport request and now my changes are recorded successfully in this request.
What are the next steps ? In my organisation the Basis team takes care of transporting the requests. So what is my task before I ask the Basis team to transport?
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    hi,
once changes were captured, and if all the infoproviders and infoobjects and other related objects were active in the other system do release the request.
if transport is taken care by basis, simply give them the request number.

  • Transportation of objects.

    Hi All,
when we use  the  Transport connection  from RSA1 to transport the objects? But normally we go to SE09 or  SE10 Tr code to  release the task and then release the request to transport the objects from Dev system to QA system. which is most preferable and when?
If request ID assign to saved object then we go to SE09 to release it.
If you object saved in $TMP or local object then we to Tra connection in RSA1 to assign request ID and release.
    please correct me.
    Regards.
    hari

    hi Hari,
we use rsa1 - transport connection - to collect objects in transport request.
then go to SE09/SE10 to release the request.
-- > so we need both, no preference (though we can also add/include object in SE09/SE10)
and STMS in production to import the reqeust.

  • Can we lock down the system for BW object and not bex objects

    Hello,
I have a question about object changeability. We want to lock down the BW production system but leave it open for adhoc query. Can we lock down the BW system only for few objects like Cubes, ODS, Infoobjects, Infosets, Multiproviders, and keep the system open for Bex objects like Query, varaibles and also for Infopackges and DTP's.
Which tcode can we use for this ?

hi, usaully production system will be non changeable for all objects.. but as far as SAP BW is concerned we can make certain objects changeable by setting as follows..
in production go to RSA1 - Transport Connection, select Object changeability button from tool bar, here you will find a list of objects which can be made changeable in a closed system.. just click on required objects and set it to Everything Changeable..

  • [Transport transformation]: Object not found in Transport Connection.

    Dear All,,
Would you like kindly help me please .. ???
I have transformation in development that's going to be trasnported to Production.
But somehow, when i go to transport connection, i couldn't find the object there.
The tranformation that i can't see, the transformation that link between datasource and info source. But transformation linking Info source to info provider can be found.
    I've already done:
    1. Reactivate the object ( i edit, and i activate it).
    2. Logging off the system, and log on again.
But for those techniques, i'm still unable to find the object in transport connection .
Could you help me please ??
Is it caused authorization ?? If yes, what authorization made me unable to see it .. ??
    Best regards,
    Daniel N.

    HI
Recheck your Collection of Object at Transport Request , Make sure that you have selected before / after DS because you can only see After Info Source ..
Recollect the objects at Source system and transport them to Target System again Properly.

  • Transporting an Object from Development to quality and then to Production

    Hello SAP Friends
I want to know the step by step navigation for Transporting an Object from Development to Quality and from there to production..
    Please give some detailed Navigation...

    Hi Kiran,
use transport connection to collect the objects to request, rsa1->transprot connection.
use infocube as starting point to collect objects, left side choose 'object type', middle frame choose 'infocube' expand 'select objects', locate/search your infocube' and 'transfer', it will go to right side.
in right up, there are buttons, click 'mode' and choose manual, and grouping 'only necessary objects', and execute, this will collect infocube and required objects like infoobjects, infoarea, etc.
after that change grouping 'in dataflow before' and execute, this will collect update rules, ods, infosource, transfer rules, datasource assigned etc.
remember to assign source system, click yellow box with X icon and mark the source system.
after that use grouping 'in dataflow afterwards' to collect query, web template, role etc.

  • Error while Transporting ID objects

    Hi,
I have transported IR objects correctly from dev to QA environment, but when Im trying to transport ID objects, its giving me error saying that the Business System is not available.
I am using File Based Transport.
    Regards
    Sudhir.

    HI Sudhir
    As said above
You need to create the Business system if its not there in SLD. If it exist then it require a cache refresh as XI is not identifying the business system.
You need to set SLD source and target system so that in future it works automatic to identify the target system.
    Thanks

  • OBJECT SKIPPED while transporting the objects from DEV to QA.

    Hi All,
While transporting the objects to Quality, I'm getting a warning saying Objects are skipped.
Can anyone please explain how to get rid of this error? We are facing this issue almost for all the transports which we are moving and the objects do not get transported to the next environment. We have to ask BASIS to use overwrite functionality while transporting to fix this each and every time we face an error.
If any SAP notes are available then please share it to me.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Srikanth,
Objects of the selected object types exist in your system as changeable even if this system is globally set to not changeable. As a result, these objects are no longer connected to the transport system.

  • How to transport the object in XI?

    Hi friends,
Anybody can give me the idea or any document for transporting the objects in XI from Development system to Quality system. As per my knowledge we can transport using File and CMS, but i don't have clear idea. Anybody explain me clearly or provide me any document?

    Hi,
There are two ways to Transport XI objects-
    1) File Import/Export
    2) CMS
CMS is somewhat standard way to do. Becuase you can track the objects. But for this you need to install the CMS separately.
just go thru these quick links-

  • Problem in transporting authorization object

    Hi,
I am facing a problem in transporting the authorization object. We have an existing cube in development and production. In production the object has 3 authorization objects checked. Now I want to change the authorization object assignment in my cube. So I changed the assignment in the development, but when I tried to transport the authorization object it collected all the cubes where the authorization object is used.
I want to transport only the authorization object associated with that cube, not all. I understand that logically if we are transporting the authorization object from RSSM, it takes all the assignments. But I don't want to do that because there may be some inconsistencies between the system.
Can you tell me weather we have any other way, so that the authorization object is transported only for one particular cube assignment not all.
    Thanks in advance
    Prashant

    Hi,
I tried that but not getting anything.
Can you please tell me the steps.
Steps I have done are as follows.
    1. Go to RSSM and select the authorization object.
    2. We have a button which says transport authorization object. I clicked on that.
    3. I got a list of all the authorization objects there. I selected my authorization objects and clicked on Transfer Object button.
    4. Then I get the hierarchy authorization objects.
    5. After that I selected a request and everything is included in that request. I didn't got your above mentioned option.
Do you want me to go to the table RSSTOBJDIR and delete all the other entries??
It would be great if you can tell me the steps to do that.
    Thanks in advance
    prashant
