Transports in detail?
Hi All,
<b>Can anyone explain the way of Transporting the objects from Development to Production?</b>
If we are doing any changes to the existing objects & after activation, a request is created & with the help of transport icon available which takes us the screen similar to Business content in which we have the collection mode option for selecting the objects manually & automatically.
<b>I would like to know the step by step procedure & scenarios for working on transports.</b>
Kindly help.
Thanks & Regards

Transport Connection: Transporting Objects
1. Call up the Administrator Workbench. To do this, choose Modeling ® Administrator Workbench: Modeling from the SAP Easy Access screen.
2. Choose the function area Transport Connection using the pushbutton in the left-hand navigation window or from the main menu of the Administrator Workbench by using Goto ® Transport Connection.
You can display or hide the left navigation window of the Administrator Workbench using Navigation Window On/ Off.
The procedure for steps 3 to 6 is very much the same as the procedure for installing Business Content (steps 3 6). You can find additional information under Installing Business Content .
3. If you want to assign source systems, select Source system assignment The dialog box Choose Source system by Default? appears.
Source systems only to be assigned for transfer rules, file DataSources and InfoPackages.
4. Choose a setting via Grouping
There is the additional option Save For System Copy in the Transport Connection function area. We recommend you make this setting when a source system needs to be copied and renamed.
You can avoid having to re-create objects for both SAP systems and BW systems in the following way:
Collect objects dependent on the source system in BW.
· Save these to a request.
· Export the request.
· Delete the objects and rename the source system. Maintain the mapping table so that the old system name Original Source System is changed to the new system as Target Source System. You can find further information about the use of mapping tables under Transport System.
· Import the request, to which you saved the objects dependent on the source system.
5. Choose a setting via Collection Mode
6. Select how you want to display the objects in the left-hand navigation window.
You can find additional information about Object Types under Transport-Relevant Metadata Object Types.
In the middle of the screen, choose the object(s) you want to transfer and move it/them using Drag&Drop, or via Insert Objects For Collection in the context menu of the respective object, into the Collected Objects area on the right hand side.
7. Check the Transport column in the Collected Objects screen area. The following objects are indicated automatically;
Those that have not been displayed, that is objects that still have the $TMP package.
· Those that must be transported according to your selection in Groupings.
Requests for which collected objects are locked, must be released before transporting the current request. In the log display, the system uses warnings to show for which objects there are still requests that must be released. These requests are also displayed in the Transport Request column.
You can add other objects manually.
Objects being Transported for the First Time (Package $TMP)
8. Select Transport Objects in order to transport the selected objects. The Change Object Directory Entry dialog box appears.
9. Under Attributes, in the Package field, enter a transportable customer package (beginning with Y or Z).
This box only pops up once for all collected objects. If you want to transport objects in different packages, you must collect the objects more than once.
You can subsequently change the assignment for a package. You can find additional information under Subsequently Changing Package Assignment.
10. Save your entry. A dialog box appears asking for a transport request.
11. In the Request field, create a transportable request, or first create a new request.
12. Choose Continue.
13. Select CTO Transport Organizer: Overview. The Workbench Organizer: Requests screen appears.
14. First of all, release the individual tasks and then the complete request.
Note: You need to previously release requests for which objects are blocked, as described in step 7.
The system displays the corresponding information for individual objects in the Collected Objects screen area, in the following columns:
· Last changed on
· Last changed by
· Transport Request
· Transport Request Holder
· Package(Development Class)
15. In the log display in the lower screen area of Collected Objects, check the status of the transport.

Table that stores Transport Request Details
Hi SDN Gurus,
Is there any table that stores all the details of all the transports in Import Queue (STMS). I am mainly interested in import time and method execution time of the transport. I need to write an ABAP program that for calculating the time for mass migrating all the transports in the queue.
i looked at the tables E070, E071 and some others but din't get the required info.
Any help will be rewarded with points.
ThanksHere is some correction to what i said. i got some information like the transport number, owner of the transport, target system and the IMPORT time of the request from the table E070. i guess all i need now is to find the time at which the transport is completed (Method Execution time) so i can calculate the time it took for transport.

For the sales order, create a delivery using VL01N and pick the goods. Now create a shipment using VT01N and assign the delivery to the shipment document. Make sure to enter the carrier and other details before performing the transportation planning and execution. Save the shipment document and PGI for the delivery would be done automatically.
A shipment represents a physical goods movement between two or more locations.
For the system to create a shipment, shipping-relevant deliveries must exist.
You use Transportation Planning to group pending deliveries into shipments and then to perform the shipments.
The outbound delivery documents contain routes that the system calculates in route determination, and a transportation planning date for the delivery.
Dynamic transportation planning is responsible for grouping together outbound deliveries into shipments that have at least the same route, visit plan type and the same transportation planning date.
The following restrictions can be taken into account for a shipment in Dynamic Transportation Planning:
u2022 Weight
u2022 Volume
u2022 Variable capacity
u2022 Number of stops
u2022 Maximum duration
u2022 Loading units

You cannot carry out transportation planning or creation of shipment after the goods issue has been executed. Once goods issue is done it means that the material has left your premises so there is no need for a transportation planning after it.

Hi,
I want to know if there is any report or function module that would let us see if all the objects in a transport request are assigned to which package?
Thanks in advance.Hi Kalyan,
Thanks for your response. I have found the solution. I actually wanted all the objects in a transport request to be assigned to a package ZBW.
The solution is, go to SE09 and give your request number, then do the following from the Menu Bar:
Request Task->Object List->Object Directory Entries. This would show all the objects in the request and their packages.

Transport Request details in SAP
Hello all,
When a transport request is saved, all objects in it might or might not be included in the object list attached to it.
Now the components in the object list are retrieved from E070, but I am not able to find the source for compnonents that are not a part of the object list of a TR.
Can someone please let me know some table or API for the same?
Thanks a ton!!

Transport request prompt details
Whenever there is a modification to existing reports or new reports being created, SAP prompts for a request number to be captured. Apart from capturing the request number, I want to capture other details like technical person name, functional person name, plant, transaction code, etc. as such details will be very useful in drafting the charts like how many modifications / new reports made per plant, how many modifications / new reports done by a technical person, etc.
Is there any userexit that is called when transport request pop-up screen comes up ? Any other ideas ?
Please clarify.
Regards,
Tom Jerry. For the transport details, please check the tables E070 and E071.
Just pass the <Program name >in the field E071-OBJ_NAME and get all the transport order details.
and also check the table TRDIR for all reports and pass the TRDIR-UNAME is username where you can get the Reports done by the person.
TRDIR for all reports and pass the TRDIR-CNAME is username where you can get the Reports changed by the person.
TFDIR where all the function module are stored
DD03l where all tables are stored.

How to get the details of Transports which are yet to be imported
Hi Experts,
Kindly let me know how to get the Transport request details which were not yet imported.
For example:
We have two client in development system 300 and 400, The transports which are created in 300 and imported to 400 (in SCC1).
I need to know the details of transport requests related to 300 which are yet be to moved to 400.
Where can i get these details.
Thanks,
Narasimhan KrishnaNarasimhan,
Take a closer look at Yves KERVADEC's approach. The issue here is that typically SCC1 is used to move transports which have not yet been closed. You can see the details of any transport via se01/se09/se10, whether open or closed, but my interpretation of your question is that the customer wants to know which transports have been imported into the unit test client (400) via SCC1, which transports have been brought in by the transport system (after they were closed), and which transports have not yet been sent to either the unit test or QA system (i.e. are still open).
My guess is that you are trying to track down why things work in the unit test client and not in the QA client. That is actually a different question with a different approach, but if that's what you really want to answer, go ahead and ask that question in a separate thread and you'll get a ton of techniques.
Back to the question you actually asked: By writing a query, you can get a list of transports which have been brought in to the unit test client via SCC1. You can also get this information from SCC1 --> Goto --> Log Display. Then click All Transport Requests and doubleclick on the client. This will give you the import log of your unit test client with date/time stamp. Analysis of that data indicates to me that perhaps you may want to look at CC0_RSCCPROT03_ALV, but I'm not an ABAPer so the previously mentioned tables are probably better.
Anyway, once you have a list of transports which have been imported, you can subtract out the ones that have been closed and transported downstream (and back into the unit test client.. your transport path does re-import the final version of the transports into the unit test client... right?). You can get that information from another query or you can get the list from STMS as suggested by Aparajit Banik. Then you'll have a list of transports which have been imported into the unit test client via SCC1 but have not yet been released and made it downstream. This will give you a "hit list" of transports which might be causing a mismatch between your unit test and QAS clients. You would then inspect them more closely with SE09/SE10/SE01 (I prefer se01, but different folks prefer different version of the transaction).
Again, there are better ways to deal with client mismatches, but I'm answering the question you asked in case I misunderstood the underlying subtext.
I hope this helps!
Best regards,

Transport of Charasteristics & Class
Dear Gurus,
I have created Characteristics usting TCode CT04 & Class using TCode AL05.(Navigation path is , SAP menu-Logistics-Central Functions -Document Management System -Classification -Master Data)
But I am not able to transport to the same. Can you let me know How Can I transport these details?
Regards
Damodar PaiHi Damodar,
characteristics and classes use internal keys which are valid only in the system and client where they were created. So transporting characteristics and classes may create conflicts with these internal keys in the target, as the same internal key may already have been used there for a different characteristic or class. So I generally would not recommend to use transports here.
The intended way is to use distribution via ALE. The relevant message types are CHRMAS (characteristics), CLSMAS (classes) and CLFMAS (if you want to distribute classifications too). You may need to distribute additional objects like change numbers, if they are used. Distributions can be started manually with transaction BD91, BD92 and BD93 or automatically triggered by change pointers created during update processing of characteristics, classes (and classifications). Take care to distribute in sequence CHRMAS, CLSMAS (and CLSMAS). Don't forget to distribut additional objects if necessary.

Incorrect Workflow version after transport
Hi,
A modification was made to the standard Booking Approval workflow (WS01200151). The changes were successful and a new runtime version was generated on the development system.
There seems to be a problem with the activation of Workflows transported to the QA system. After the transport no new version were activated on the QA system although the active version was included in the transport. (landscape: Development > QA > Production). I created a new version and also transported this, but the new version were not active. The status on QA was still "Runtime version, Saved".
I checked the transport log and there were no errors and all objects were moved to the QA system. However, when I check the workflow versions on QA, there are multiple inactive versions now QA. There are only 7 on development but there are about 60 on the QA system. The 2 workflows are not in-sync.
The QA system is not open for changes and it is not ideal to open it either because then we will have to open the Production system as well. Does anyone know why the active version were not transported and how to fix this besides opening the QA system for changes?
I am quite new to workflow and your help will be much appreciated.
Regards
Liza-MarieThanks for the feedback, I learnt something new.
The version in table HRS1205 on Development is 0007 and on QA it is 0006 and I executed function module SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 but nothing is updated. I debugged the FM and found that it exits (without any exception) as the transport version details (date & time) is the same as the 9999 version (code line 91).
SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 reads table SWDSHEADER and in this table the last version is 0182! I don't know how all the versions from 0007 and 0182 was created but this seems to be causing problems. I don't want to write a program to delete those redundant entries as I'm not sure what the impact would be. Do you know if there is a FM to delete the entries from table SWDSHEADER or any other table that would get rid of these versions?
To answer your question, I can view the WF in PFTC, there are no messages.
I will check OSS if I can find something.
Thanks for you help, it's much appreciated.

Tables in ChaRM- Transport Request & Tasks
Hi,
Need the table name which contains the Transport Request details & Tasks( In Transport Request) with statuses in solution manager and not in R/3.
In which table we get the details.
Regards
PKHi PK,
as you have E071, E07a... in satellite systems you have the same in Solman for transport requests of ChaRM.
All of them start with /TMWFLOW/REPExxx
For example E071 become /TMWFLOW/REPE71O or /TMWFLOW/REPE71R
I dont remember exactely whats the differeence between both. Does it refer to Open and Release. I ll let you confirm that cause i don t have ChaRM on my Solman here.
One more thing; if it s for reporting matters; be aware that they are not always as up to date as the ones in satellite
Threre is a job on your Solman that must be planned that updates them regularly. This job is something like cmssyscol2 if i remember well
Hope this helps
