Transpose a column to a row in Numbers for IOS

I want to transpose a column to a row in Numbers for IOS, and none of the usual formulas are working. Any thought?

In Numbers '09 (the current Mac OS X version) the formula below will transpose rows and columns. The transposition is to a second table, and transposes entered data and the results of formulas.
=OFFSET(Table 1::$A$1,COLUMN()-1,ROW()-1)
If this solution does not work in Numbers for iOS, I'd suggest reposting in the iWork for iOS community. This area is for Numbers for Mac OS X topics.

Barry

  • Anyone know how to go to the last active row in Numbers for iOS ? There is no Home or End key on iPad.

Anyone know how to navigate through a spreadsheet in Numbers for iOS on an iPad. Specifically to go to the end of an active file since there is no End key.

see if any of this works for you
On a smaller keyboard, such as the wireless, or on portables, you can use fn- left arrow for home and fn- right arrow for end.
On a Mac, 'home and 'end' take you to the beginning and the end of document, respectively. Getting to the beginning or end of a line is done with cmd- leftarrow and cmd- rightarrow. Emacs shortcuts, such a ctrl-a and ctrl- e also work in most places, where the app is done right.

  • Hiding rows in Numbers for iPad - any update?

Several months ago, I asked the question 'how do I hide rows in Numbers for iPad' and the answer was that it's not possible,
    Has there been any change?
Also, is it possible yet to show the row/column grid numbers/letters?

  • How do I add multiple rows in Numbers for iPad?

how do I add multiple rows in Numbers for iPad?

    Hi James,
On the iPod I can only insert what is on the clipboard but I can insert however many rows I have there. Is it working differently for you? Benjoon seemed to think that he could not do this in Numbers. He was ruling Numbers out because of it. He doesn't need to do that because of this issue.
If I was needing to insert multiple blank rows often I might keep a table of blank rows or just some blank rows at the end of the working table that I could copy/paste. This is no different than Numbers on the Mac.

  • Is it possible to search for a specific term or data in Numbers for iOS?

I looked for similar questions, but all of the similar questions did not specify if they were talking about the Mac version or the iOS.  So I apologize if the question has been asked.
Is there a way to search for a specific term or criteria in Numbers for iOS?
My father owns a small business and has a large inventory of parts.  He wants a simple way to search his inventory for a particular part number and see how many of a the specific part number he has in his inventory, while not in the shop or having to call in.  He wants to take an iPad along with him.
My first thought was to create an spreadsheet.  I have a basic knowledge of how spreadsheets work, and I don't think my father would like anything more complicated.
I was thinking about making the 1st column list the part number, 2nd column list the quantity in the shop, 3rd column list the quantity in the truck.
If Numbers for iOS is not able to do this, suggestions for alternatives are welcome.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi j4nitor
Would the "Find" option in the "Tools" menu do the job?
If you search for the part number, it will be highlightet, and with your outline for a setup, I guess that would give you the overview you are talking about.
    Hope it helps.
    Best regards
    Ole

  • Content size when creating a PDF in Numbers for iOS

I want to create a PDF document from Numbers for iOS, but it will not allow me to center content on the page or resize it to take the whole page. I can do it if I try to print a document, I can adjust the size of my content, but if I just want to create a PDF, it makes my content small and all bunched up in the top left corner and the document does not look good.

I suspect that even if you could find the mapping information (pass as to where) it would simply tell you that Style A in Fm was mapped to Style B in Rh but not give you any information about how Style A was defined in Fm.
I think your only options are to create a CSS as you suggest or, as I would, create redefine the Word Style Mapping Template to suit. By going to Word first, you can edit the output for better page breaks and other tweaking you might want.

  • How do you create forms in numbers the same as in numbers for ios

I have a Macbook Running Maveriks 10.92 and Ipad running IOS7. I have numbers on both machines. On the Ipad there is a function that allows you to add a form to enter data from a sheet using Popups.
I can not find this function on the Macbook Pro.
    All versions are the latest.

    Numbers for iOS supports forms.
Numbers for OS X does not support forms (yet).
Make a request for this feature using the Provide Numbers Feedback item in the Numbers menu.

  • Frozen Numbers for iOS on my iPhone

I recently purchased the Numbers for iOS for my iPhone. Everything was working fine until I made a spreadsheet change on my MacBook Pro. The iCloud began to update itself and I could see it happening on my iPhone but the pinwheel kept spinning for hours and hours. I was finally able to force it to stop but now the entire Numbers for iOS on my iPhone is frozen. I have attempted to perform other steps to resolve this issue but the app remains frozen. iCloud has been updated with renamed files and asks me if I want to use iCloud to update my data but nothing happens when I select the "Use iCloud" button. This lack of touch interaction with this app is now the norm and I am unable to use the Numbers program on my iPhone. How do I go about correcting this problem so I can resume using Numbers on my iPhone?

I did reset my device but did not redownload the app as I was not sure if the problem was within iCloud or with the app itself. I have since reverified that iCloud was not the problem via checking it's interaction with other iCloud dependent apps. I have since redownloaded the Numbers app and everything is now working fine.
Sorry to have bothered you on this problem but this is my first rodeo with the iOS apps so it is a learning process. Now I should have a better feel for what could be causing some problems and should be able to problem solve them without needing this forum.

  • Numbers for IOS -- How to paste formulas and/or change formatting

I'm a brand new user of Numbers for IOS (version 5.0.1) on my iPhone...  It was suggested in the iWork > Numbers forum that I check in one of the IOS forums for help with this version of Numbers, and the iPhone forum has a comment to the effect that there are more IOS Numbers users in the iPad forum....  So here's my question:
I received an email with a cute countdown formula for the new year, =10*9*8+7+6-5+4*321 so I copied it from my email, and pasted it into a cell in Numbers for IOS.  I found that it won't paste at all (the black "Paste" symbol doesn't appear) unless I hit the "T" for text mode, so that's what I did, and I pasted it into the cell of a table.  But it shows up simply as =10*9*8+7+6-5+4*321, not the value of that expression, which is supposed to be 2012.  So I double-clicked a different cell, and selected the = symbol, and then tried to paste the formula into the green bar at the top, but like I said, the only thing that pops up in that mode is the magnifying glass.  So I typed the formula in, using the x in place of the asterisks, and it worked just fine.  So I can use formulas, and I can paste text into cells, but I just can't paste text into cells and have Numbers interpret the text as a formula.  Any hints?  Thanks!

This isn't a pro answer but I found if you use the + cursor and select all cells and the set font, color or whatever you want, when you then go to specific cells, it will be the way you want.

  • Merging two columns with muliple rows in Numbers '09

I am trying to merge two columns each with 100 rows and related data. Column one is the street address and column two have office numbers. The final result would be one column with 100 rows with address and office numbers.

    Hi Ed,
    Use the CONCATENATE() function.
Street address in column D, Office number in Column E
    100 Smith ST            212
    Formula: =CONCATENATE(E," ",D)
    Result:
    212 100 Smith ST
Note the formula has three arguments, the reference to column E, a text literal (" ") containing a single space, and a reference to column D.

  • Sort a row in Numbers for iPad

I have a list of names along the header row of a table in Numbers for iPad. I'd like to put them in alphabetical order from left to right. Bearing in mind that I'm a newby to apple, could anyone help? (If I were using MS excel I'd use sort data and set it row)
I have considered transposing the row to a column and I can sort a column, but the transpose command is proving tricky (Again if I were using MS Excel I would use paste special transpose.)

Generally, you are more likely to get an answer if you post in the iWork for iOS forum at
