Trash Folder gets emptied every few days
Every few days the Deleted folder gets emptied and I can't find any way to stop it. It makes it very difficult when I'm expecting a delivery or need to remember log in info etc.
I used to use Window Live Mail and the Google Inbox app on my phone and have it set up to access my mail as IMAP so I could check my mail where ever I was and that worked but when I noticed my mail vanishing I stopped using one then the other to try and figure out if one or the other was causing the problem. I'm currently only accessing my mail via the web page and it still vanishes. Sometimes after a few days and sometimes after a few hours. I've checked the options and there's no "Empty deleted folder" option that I can find.
I'm still on BT Yahgoo mail even though I was swapped once then that got reverted.
If you want to keep it, why put it in the trash folder? Would it not be better to either leave it in the incoming folder or move it to another folder that you could make for the purpose of keeping emails.

I have a new I phone 5c and every few days the screen icons get bigger , almost like the don't fit the screen anymore. I have to shut phone down , why is this
probably your zoom is on. try double tapping with three fingers on your screen, it should go back to normal and then goto
settings>general>accesibility>zoom and disable it -
My new (2 months old) 5s fingerprint recognition sensor does not work. It worked well when I first got it but now to get it to work I have to redo my fingerprints every few days, which completely negates the convenience and cost of the phone. I have tried all the tips and they help a little but it always stops working and I have to redo my fingerprints. Does Apple read these comments? Is there an app that might help?
Apple does not read here.
If you want Apple to know send feedback
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I also have iPhone 5s on day one and it's working since. When it's not registering, I just clean the Home button and it works straight away.
Did you try when registering fingerprint using all angles? It should learn the more you use it.
Did you clean the sensor with a soft cloth?

Tired of getting plugin disables every few days when there's an update
Not a question... A comment.
I, for one, am getting tired of having plugins that I use A LOT and depend on, suddenly disabled every few days when Firefox updates itself. Maybe YOU think that's "progress"...When I keep adding substitute add-ons to replace ones that suddenly don't work, and then a few days later those get disabled too, it makes me wonder if Firefox is a good long-term browser choice. If I were a plugin developer I would be ticked-off beyond belief, and after awhile I'd probably stop developing for Firefox.
Congratulations on a path that will surely make you obsolete sooner rather than later. The list of plugins (which is rather long) was submitted with the crash report.
My attitude is based on the reality of the frustration of the plugins I use the most being continually disabled by the never-ending parade of upgrades. It is what it is. -
Late 2012 iMac Freezes every few days
My iMac has been in the Apple Store for a week with the Geniuses and they came back saying they couldn't find anything so putting this out to this community in the hope someone else can help. Here are the details.
Model: 21.5 inch Late-2012 iMac
RAM: 8Gb
Processor: 2.9Ghz Intel Core i5
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
Hard Drive: 1.12 Tb Fusion (653Gb free)
OS: 10.8.4
Software: Fairly vanilla with no MS or Adobe Apps. No system extensions or hacks installed.
Symptom: Every few days or so the iMac locks up. Certain running applications will still work but many common ones such as Pages, Aperture, App Store & TextEdit will hang when trying to open. Force Quitting them doesn't affect them. When I try to shut down the computer it goes to the grey screen and stays there. Eventually the power needs to be turned off to reboot it. This has been doing this for the last several months.
Solutions Tried:
- Fixed permissions
- Reset PRAM
- Re-install OS X
I can't replicate the crash but today it happened again. At around 3:50pm I went to the iMac and noticed that Pages wouldn't load. Force quitting the App didn't do anything. Aperture was not responding so force quit that. Still wouldn't re-open. Mail was working fine and I was able to send a test message. Safari worked fine. Launched System Preferences ok but could not launch TextEdit or App Store. Calendar opened and closed fine. Attempted to restart the Mac but got the grey screen and after 5 minutes of waiting turned the computer off & relaunched it.

Notice that the last Console entry was at 2:47pm (in red) and then nothing. I went to use the computer at 3:50pm and did several actions on it. Plugged in iPad, opened iTunes. Copied a file from the iPad to the desktop. Prior to that it hadn't been used for several hours. The shutdown that I selected does not appear in the log (although it only managed to go to the grey screen rather than complete a full shut down).
Appreciate any clues at all here. This is very frustrating and has been going on for far too long.
TIA. JordanBack up all data immediately as your boot drive may be failing.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. If the command produced no output, the window will be empty. Post the contents of the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window), if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. -
IChat AV 3.1.9 Keeps Wanting Setup at startup every few days--Why?
I have three Macs and all are setup using mobile accounts so that my data on each machine is pretty much identical; however, my office machine does not have an iSight for video chat, whereas, my home and laptop both do. My User/Library does not sync, but everything else does. Any ideas why iChat AV wants me to run setup every few days?
What does happen when you try to synch the Library ?
The Library has a Sub folder for Preferences.
It hold amoungst other things the iChat .plists Removing all of these will get iChat to Redo the Start Up Screens.

Pages from App Store needs reinstalling every few days???
I purchased Pages 09 through the Mac App Store a few weeks ago. Every few days I discover that I cannot save work in Pages, the app thinks I have an unlicensed version and need to purchase a key to use it. I start the Mac App Store and it shows Pages as needing to be installed, although it already is. Why does this process keep repeating itself, and how can I resolve the issue once and for all?
FYI, I have deleted the app twice and then reinstalled it via the MAS, and still the issue persists. Thank you for any suggestions you may have. Here is what happens:
I purchased Pages 09 on my MacBook Air shortly after the Mac App Store opened. I have also installed a second instance of it, via the MAS on my desktop machine. The desktop instance runs without problems, but the MacBook Air copy does not. Every few days, when I open the Pages application and attempt to save work I am doing, a prompt pops up to say that I need to PURCHASE a key to be able to save work, suggesting that I am just using a demo, when in fact I did buy this copy. I do not remember whether or not the MacBook had a DEMO of Pages installed on it prior to buying it through the MAS, but that may have been. If so, this is likely causing some confusion. Surely there is a way to remedy this problem? I can't keep reinstalling Pages twice a week in order to use it on the MacBook Air!
And yes, I have deleted the Pages application (dragged into the Trash and emptied Trash) before reinstalling via the MAS, and that did not fix the problem. -
I need to download an updated version of a file every few days to use. My secretary works on the file all the time. I thought i could use my old airport extreme and attach an external HD and set up a network to do just this. At work we alll use pc's. How can i make this work? At the moment we use usb stick to transfer which is getting to be a bit of a pain as the file grows every week. Presently 5GB.
I thought i could use my old airport extreme and attach an external HD and set up a network to do just this.
Yes, you can use either the 802.11g or 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) to attach an external USB HDD for file sharing. Either AEBS model would allow you to share out this HDD to either Macs or PCs. From the PC, the shared HDD would appear as a network drive which you can map via Windows Explorer. -
IPhone loses WiFi every few days
Hi. My iPhone 4S has been acting strange recently. Every few days or so my WiFi will stop working. It shows In the corner that it's connected but nothing that uses the Internet works. I go into Settings and turn WiFi off and on and it tries to connect but the wheel just spins next to the network name. Other devices in my house work fine during that time but the iPhone won't connect. Usually the only way I can get it working again is to reset my network settings on the phone.
I'm wondering if it's my router possibly? It's a Linksys WRT54G that we've had for a long time. I'm using WPA Personal. Could my router be getting too old? Ive also noticed lately that my WiFi strength goes from two to three bars quite a bit on the iPhone. I always had full bars in the past. My channel is on 11 but I tried to change it the other day which caused my Xbox to not connect so that's another reason I'm leaning toward the router being too old. But the fact that my phone can lose signal while everything else in my house is unaffected makes me feel like it could be the phone.

I recently purchased CC and I'm being constantly nagged about licensing my product. It's been licensed for the better part of a month, but every few days I get a pop-up that says that I have 0 days left and I need to buy or license. I click license and it checks with momma and says I'm OK. In a day or two we'll go thru this drill again. After a month of this it's getting really irritating ... REALLY irritating! Anybody know what's up?

Cookies every few days makes a *.bak file and starts anew (win7-64 with FF33)
Upgraded from FF5.1 to FF33. Only problem was black screen, fixed with hardware switch. Cookies are somehow storing a backup file every few days, and starting new file. Checked cookie settings and same as used in FF5.1
Last night hand purged about 2/3 of cookie file using FF33. File size didn't change (about 1534K)
Manually restored cookie BAK file twice, without problem.Do you have security software or cleanup software that might be causing this and is cleaning out the cookies?
It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.
*Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

my host name changes every few days, since Xmas adding a macbook its changed 6 times. Do I need to stop this? Does it cause problems with sharing between the iMac and macbook?
There are several possible causes for this problem.
1. Two (or more) computers on the local network have the same Bonjour name, such as "X's-MacBook-Pro.local".
2. You have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. If applicable, disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
3. A Mac wakes from sleep due to network traffic. This is due to a bug in OS X that may only affect some models.
4. A device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
5. A third-party wireless router has incompatible settings or firmware. In that case, refer to the manufacturer or ISP for support. Restarting the router may help, temporarily.
6. See also this support article.
Rename the computer in the Sharing preference pane. -
Linksys E900 Locking up every few days
Ok, I just got done talking to tech support and really got no where. What happens is every few days, some reason I can't connect any wireless devices to the wireless in the house. They just spin and says can't connect. My desktop that's wired in cannot browse the web, but has a good 192.168.1.x IP address.
On my desktop, I'm able to ping the gateway 192.168.1.1. I cannot pull up the Linksys local router page (192.168.1.1) in a web browser. I cannot browse the web or ping an outside IP address such as 8.8.8.8.
If I unplug my router and plug it in, it will work again for a few days and the same thing will happen.
Linksys support insists there's nothing wrong with the router and this is a modem issue. They want me to take the router out of the equation and just run off the modem for a few days. Yes, if I did that, I would prove it isn't that. But our house phone wouldn't work and everything we run off the Internet would be dead to just prove that's not the problem. I told the tech that my PC's next "hop" is the router's LAN port. It then routes to the Internet port, out that to the modem. If it was the modem that was the issue, wouldn't it make sense I should be able to pull up 192.168.1.1 in a web browser seeing it's before the modem? I should be able to pull up 192.168.1.1 and get to the status tab but I'd then expect to see all 0s for the IP for the WAN or something weird there. He said, no... that makes no sense. Seeing I can't pull up the router in the web browser, it must be the modem and contact them.
I was hoping when I called they would say there was some firmware they haven't released yet but it's a known issue and they could give me a pre-release copy of it to fix it... no luck. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it?I solved it by throwing it away and buying a netgear cheapo $30 router.

Pace.app is a known troublemaker. It is used to ensure that you don't steal some expensive software package, but it thinks it is an Anti-Virus program as well. It's not helpful.
The panic occurred in Managed Client. It is very unusual to be running that unless you have a Server or have enabled Parental Controls. The NTFS driver was in the backtrace as well.
Your Mac Pro 3,1 has Error Correcting Code Memory. Memory problems are detected in Hardware. This report is not a memory problem report.
