TRASHED DATA MYSTERIOUSLY REAPPEARED AFTER OS X REINSTALLATION.....

Hello everyone. Briefly my doubt regards the following situation: I had some os x programs on a usb pendrive and I moved them onto my external hdd BEFORE a complete reinstallation of os x; then I've deleted these programs from the pendrive (note: unfortunately I really don't remember if I've emptied the trash BEFORE the reinstallation). The reinstallation has been made without any security option at the time of the reinitialization of the hdd of my mbp (so no writing 0s or writing random data 7 or 35 times options were selected; just the fast initialization option). When, after my mbp was again in perfect shape, I've plugged-in again the usb pendrive that previously contained the programs I've noticed that the trash icon changed like if the trash had some objects inside and once I've opened the trash I found the same programs that should has been deleted BEFORE the reinstallation of os x How can it be possible?? Maybe, supposing that I forgot to empty the trash BEFORE the reinstallation, the deleted files are remained hidden into a folder of my usb pendrive which the os identifies as a temporary trash folder of the device and consequently shows them also in the system trash?
Thanks a lot to everyone/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png

Every drive has its own trash. The Finder doesn't differentiate between them when it decides how to depict the trash icon in the dock.

  • User_jobs: Job reappears after bouncing the db

    Hi All,
This week, I've come across a strange thing. One of the developer has submitted a job using dbms_job pkg. But for some unknown reason, he wanted to stop it from running. So, from TOAD-- Schema Browser, he dropped that job and queried user_jobs to find "no rows".
But after few minutes, the job reappeared in USER_JOBS with its Next run date/time already passed by. He removed the job again. But it reappeared after sometime.
    On which we tried this:
    1) Shutdown db
    2) set job_queue_process=0 (Earlier it was 4)
    3) Start db
    4) Shutdown db
    5) set job_queue_process=4 (again)
    6) Start db.
    This solution worked for us.
    My question is:
Why did it reappeared in USER_JOBS even after dropping the job?
Where can we see the status of a job (other than DBA_JOBS, DBA_JOBS_RUNNING)?
Why did it take the above 6 steps to resolve the issue?

    > Why did it reappeared in USER_JOBS even after
    dropping the job?
As David indicated - no commit. Changing the jobs table requires a commit.
One may want to add a job as part of a business transaction. The job must only be scheduled when that business transaction is committed. One does not want the job to be auto added to the job queue without an explicit commit.
Thus the DBMS_JOB package does not perform any implicit commits or autonomous transactions. As documented.
    > Where can we see the status of a job (other than
    DBA_JOBS, DBA_JOBS_RUNNING)?
In V$SESSION. That will list the actual Job Queue Session that is executing the DBMS_JOB. The actual o/s process details for that session will in turn be listed in V$PROCESS.
    > Why did it take the above 6 steps to resolve the
    issue?
    Ignorance, sadly.

  • Cannot Reset Safari - History reappears after Quit

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and I'm seeing some strange behavior with Safari
Every time I Quit and reopen Safari is opens a random page - not my home page
I attempted to "Reset Safari" and all of the book marks reappear after I quit and re-open
I have 2 accounts on my iMac.
This is only happening for 1 of the accounts - If I clear the history on this account it goes away.
    Thanks

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist  (preferences)
Quit Safari. Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go the move the  com.apple.Safari.plist    file to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.
If that didn't help, type this:   ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

  • Mailbox keeps reappearing after I delete it.

This isn't a major problem, but I have a subfolder in my trash mailbox that keeps reappearing after I delete it (it shows up as "on my mac"). I didn't create that mailbox and I really don't want it. How do I delete it for good?

These are "On My Mac" mailboxes.
When creating a mailbox in Mail, the default location is "On My Mac" which is stored locally on the hard drive.
If you have a .Mac or IMAP type account, you can also choose the account name as the location to create a mailbox stored on the server.

    Hi,
    Syntax
    ASSIGN mem_area TO <fs> casting_spec range_spec.
    Effect
This statement assigns the memory area specified using mem_area to the field symbol <fs>. You can assign a data object or a memory area calculated from the address of a data object. After the assignment, the field symbol refers to the assigned memory area and can be used in operand positions. When used in a statement, it behaves like a dereferenced data reference, meaning that the statement works with the content of the memory area.
The data type with which the assgigned memory area is treated, depends on the specifications in casting_spec. You can either execute an explicit casting or the field symbol takes on the data type of the data object specified in the assignment. A field symbol to which a memory area is assigned, has this data type after the assignment and behaves like a data object of this type.
The assigned memory area mem_area must be at least as long as the data type specified in casting_spec and must have the same alignment. If the data type determined in casting_spec is deep, the deep components with their type and position must appear in the assigned memory area exactly like this.
Use the specifications in range_spec to restrict the memory area that can be assigned to the field symbol.
You have to assign it back to internal table to modify the content.
Check in debug mode if you have still doubt.
    regards,
    Raju

I can´t delete files in trash . It stops after a short time undone.
What can I do? There are 52 files in trash, but if I click the button "sure empty" it shows 11.313 files to delete .
I would be very greatful for your help!

Stronger medicine may be needed, but try this first
Force the Trash to empty using the Option key
This technique uses a hidden feature of Mac OS X to force the Trash to empty. Perform the following steps in the order specified:
Press and hold the mouse button on the Trash icon in the Dock. The context menu for Trash will display.
Press and hold the Option key or the Shift-Option keyboard combination,
Select Empty Trash from the context menu for Trash.
Release the keys pressed and held in step 2.

Getting the message "your mail could not be moved to trash", and keeps reappearing as not read or deleted.

Did you have Hotmail set-up with Android prior?  I did, and if you did too, you have the same problem, and this is how to solve it.
From your desktop computer, the Hotmail (or Outlook) website uses the folder "Deleted" for your deleted messages as default.  On your iPhone, the deleted folder's name by default is "Trash".
When I had my Hotmail with Android, it created a folder Trash for deleted messages, and it's creation was amongst all my folders.  So when you go back and look at Hotmail from your desktop, you will see a folder Trash, in addition to the default Deleted.  My Trash folder had all the emails I deleted from my Android.
That said, with the manual folder Trash that was created, when trying to set-up Hotmail now on iPhone, because I already had a folder Trash, it conflicted with the default "Trash" folder it wanted to created, so it didn't create it, being the reason why you can't delete emails, because it doesn't have the defaulted "Trash" folder to go to.
The solution is to delete the folder "Trash" from your desktop, uninstall Hotmail from your iPhone, and re-install, and it worked, the defaulted "Trash" was then created, alongside the "Sent" and "Junk".

  • Missing data in ap_check_stocks after R12 upgrade

    Hello,
We are currently in version R12.1.2 and I have an existing query from R11 which gets data from ap_check_stocks table. I am however not able to find any data on ap_check_stocks after R12 upgrade. Has this table been discontinued? I do not find any link in metalink which says that as well...
The join used in the query is between ap_check_stocks and ap_checks is ap_checks.check_stock_id = ap_check_stocks.check_stock_id... Has something changed in R12?

  • Text messages and phone calls from March 2012 to date are missing after activating iphone5

text messages and phone calls from March 2012 to date are missing after activating iphone5. I backed up my 4 before activating my 5. Can i retrieve them somehow?

i would not want to bet on nokia ever releasing a patch or update in the software to allow this function on this particular phone.
if you look at nokia phones over the years, they have added functionality like this across a wide range all at once, take for example timed profiles on symbian phones. these have only just been phased in.
i do not think it is a development cop out, more along the lines that nokia is a huge company and as such would have a huge effor in market research. if they didnt pick this out through their market researc, why spend the money adding it?
the comment on annoyance is entirely personal to me, as it is important to you - you may want to consider moving to a symbian (series 60) based handset as these give you a lot of expansion for this sort of need.

DW CS6 doesn’t open in OS 10.9.5, even after deinstallation and reinstallation (multiple time).
I tried deleting all prefs with the name Dreamweaver in the Library/preferences and in Apllication Support/adobe. Doesn’t change anything.
Is there a conflict with something else? Is there something else I can do ?

    Hello Claude,
in this case I would download a really new trial version of your program in question (DW) and change it into a "real" version later, BUT because you said, that you "re-installed" already, so it will become a little bit more complicated. It would be necessary that you have to use "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool".
Here an advice for that (The order varies depending on your individual needs. Please read all my proposals first, so you can better choose the first step:)
    1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
    2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
    3. You did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing". Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.
Please use: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and follow the prescribed sequence of operations
    4. If necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and if "open" please use the chat, I for my part had the best experiences. I quote from Adobe's employee Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.

Application "FINDER"not responding,Desktop files disappeared & " also "Trash" not working svn after relaunching several times.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process (Finder) in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Start date should be after the dd.mm.yyyy or later error message.

We have recently applied HR support packs 46 to 51 and now when updating Personal Data (IT0002), Bank Details (IT0009) or Addresses (IT0006), the following error message is displayed 'Start date should be after the 07.02.2010 or later'. Where the screens allow for a future date to be entered we have done so, but the same error message appears.
Has anyone encountered this problem after apply support packs?
