Trashed Mail by mistake

My Cousin's iMac somehow had multiple Mail icons of on her desktop. After I removed all the icons, I went back to the Mail icon on the dock and tried to relaunch Mail. Clicking on the Mail icon in the dock produced a question Mark. I went back to the Applications Folder and found no Mail application. I can not find he Mail program on the Apple website. Can someone tell me where it is at? Also is the future Mail program going to change to the Post Box application described on the Apple website?

I think I've just trashed iPhoto by mistake and all my photos with it - help! It's not appearing in the trash.

Both the app and the library? And emptied the trash? Probably no backup. What series of "mistakes" is that?

Restoring Trashed mails from time machine

Hi chaps, in a panic (I don't seem to be able to send to some email addresses but that's probably a question for my ISP when they decide to answer their phone) I deleted my account and set it up again, I saved the messages in my "Inbox" but there are probably some in my old trash that I might like to keep - is it possible to get the trashed mails out of time machine in some form please ? Thanks again Barrry ... I managed to find an oldish folder of trashed mail in TM (isn't it clever) and have now happily put it somewhere safe (I know that one day I'll want that mail from the car hire company offering me six months hire for 2/6d ... ) !
I now have further mail problems which I'll speak to my ISP about tomorrow ... eg there are more mails on my PC (Outlook) than on my Mac (Macmail) and when I go to my web mail account there's nothing there at all ... I'm guessing this is down to the isp ?

There is a setting that controls how long deleted emails remain in the Trash.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Tap on your Email Account > Scroll way down to Advanced > Deleted Messages > Remove
Then select the option you want.

I have moved all of my movies from "Search for - All Movies" folder thinking they were shortcuts to the trash folder by mistake. Is there any way I can restore them to the right place on my system Note most are on an external hard drive. :(

You can drag them out of the trash folder to wherever you wish. There is no automatic way to restore them.
If you have a recent backup of your computer (at the risk of preaching, everyone should have one), restore them from there.

If the email is marked as Unread when it is deleted it will appear in the trash as Unread.

I have two trash folders with different icons. The trash folder with a garbage bin as an icon has a Delete All function but the other trash folder does not. When I delete messages they go into the second trash folder. I then have to delete them one at a time. Then they pear in the trash folder with the garbage icon. Then I can use the Delete All button to remove. But it is a long complicated process.

Try to do it with ethernet.. do not use wireless.. turn wireless off.
And make sure the TC is either in router or bridge mode to the main modem/router in the network.
If possible do not use Mavericks.. it has more bugs than your normal insect zoo.
The files are stored in the computer before the update even begins.

You can apparently do it from the iOS version of the airport utility.. which might work better than Mavericks.. well anything would wouldn't it!!

Did you delete the send emails and now want them back?
Maybe (from manual):
Recover a deleted message. Go to the account’s Trash mailbox, open the message, then tap and move the message. Or, if you just deleted it, shake iPod touch to undo. To see deleted messages across all your accounts, add the Trash mailbox. To add it, tap Edit in the mailboxes list and select it from the list.
Stash your trash. You can set how long deleted messages stay in the Trash mailbox. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > account name > Account > Advanced.

Mostly the same way you always have. Swipe the email left. If you have Archive rather than Trash enabled, you will see two options: More & Archive. Tap Archive to - well - archive the email, or tap More to see the Trash option.

My trashed emails are only showing for the month of October. My settings are to never delete trashed emails, so I should have a significant number of emails in there. I do see a few random emails before October. How do I get them all to show, I need to search them for a particular email. This is a .mac email account

If secureserver.net is IMAP then all emails will by definition come back unless you dragged emails into folders residing only "On My Mac" in Apple Mail on your previous machine. If secureserver.net is POP and your mail is not coming back, the only thing that could be from is the messages being deleted from the server, esp. if they aren't showing up in web mail. It's even possible that the thieves deleted all of your messages. Check you webmail's trash bin.
Do you have a backup? Can you contact your email provider about possible data recovery? Sorry, this sounds terrible!

HELP! My Inbox, Sent, Junk & trash mail folders are completely empty.

Please can someone help me with this ... all my mail messages have vanished - apart from the archive mailboxes where I store messages from 2009.. 08.. 07 etc. So that's my Inbox, Sent & Trash all empty. Is there a way I can get these back please?

this keeps on happening.....every handful of weeks my computers will all need Enable This Account re-checked in Mail's preferences because I'll suddenly see that the entire Mail program is empty
