Travel adapter needs for iPod

Hi all:
I'm loaning my G4 20GB iPod to a friend who will be traveling to Ireland, England, Italy and the Ukraine and I want to be sure that the iPod isn't fried when he tries to charge it.
I'm giving him one of my Firewire AC Wall Chargers and a Firewire cable. Will he need a voltage converter in addition to the appropriate AC plugs for each country? Or will just the appropriate AC plugs do? Is buying Apple's own travel adapter kit necessary, or will any other particular brand of plugs do just as well?
All advice and recommendations are appreciated!

If yours are the Apple iPod power adapter, then it should be ok, as which is i.e. 110-240V, please take a look of it, it shows the specification. However, your friend may need the AC univeral plug, e.g. 2 pins or 3 pins

I have a World Travel Adapter Kit for use with my iPad when traveling abroad. I know this charger can be used on an iPhone, can the plug adapters also be used with the charger of a Mac Book Pro or is a special converter required?

Is there any concern about the type of travel adapter kit? For instance, some instructions indicate they are for heat creating appliances (hairdryers, curling irons, etc.). I bought such a set, but do they present any issues if used with more delicate electronic circuitry (for iPads, iPods, or with camera battery chargers). I am leaving for the UK on Monday and need to get it right - are they too strong for the Apple products if they are not to be used with computers? What other options are out there?

  • Apple Travel Adapter suitable for MBA?

In the Apple Store website, the products listed as suitable for the Apple Travel Adapter Kit includes the MacBook but does not mention the MacBook Air. (The MBA's MagSafe Power Adapter is 45W; the Mac Book's is 60W) Has anyone used any of the Apple adapters with an MBA? I'm going to be in Argentina next February and would like to use mine while there.
    Hope someone can help me!

The travel adapter kit is only the detachable plugs that you can swap out on your brick. I have used the travel adapter kit appropriate attachments in Europe and UK and it works perfectly. The brick itself is the "converter" for your MBA. The travel adapter kit is just the interchangeable plugheads.

  • Space needed for IPod Touch App

My ipod touch says there is not enough available storage to download an app. The app requires 1.57 GB and I have 3.6 GB available storage. What do I do?

    Apparently so.

  • Drivers needed for iPod to work?

A couple of days ago, I received a free iPod Nano (2GB) from a promotional offer with my bank. There was no installation software disk included. From reading on the site, this is normal because everything you "need" is supposed to be in the latest version of iTunes.
When I first plug my iPod into my computer, Windows recoginizes it as an iPod and prompts me to go through the new hardware installation. The installation then fails because no driver software is found/available for the iPod.
I have the latest version of iTunes. ITunes will open and all my music is there and playable. My iPod just will not show. My iPod is fully charged. I have gone through all of the 5 R's multiple times including the 6th R, which is REALLY FRUSTRATED!!!
Basically, I need a software driver so that Windows will recognize my iPod. I have read here that iTunes has them or something? However, iTunes will not recognize my iPod because it's simply just not there. Device Manager in Windows has the yellow exclamation point on the iPod.
I have tried multiple USB ports. I have tried upgrading all of my Windows utilities up to date. I've never really had any problems with anything installing/connecting to my computer until now. I'm really starting to disbelieve all of the iPod hype and am getting extremely frustrated with it because it's not seeming very intuitive or user friendly.
Any help getting Windows to recognize/install the software for the iPod will be extremely appreciated. I'm getting ready to eBay the thing because it's really becoming a headache. Maybe you could help me realize that iPods are where it's at and help me solve this dilema! Thanks!
Don't know if this helps, but my computer specs are:
    Windows XP
    AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ (1.83 GHz)
    1 GB RAM
    80 GB hard drive
    Self-built   Windows XP

Do you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2, or just Windows XP?
I believe SP2 is a requirement, as it contains the needed USB drivers for Windows.

  • T23 - What are the plastic side rails & adapter needed for drives to fit in the Ultrabay?

Does anyone know the part numbers for the plastic side rails and adapter required to be attached to a bare CD or DVD drive in order for it to fit in the Ultrabay and connect?  I have a bare Sony DVD RW replacement drive with the correct "notched" bezel.  I know most people just strip off the adapter and plastic side rails from an existing IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad CD drive and put them on the new drive.  But I was wanting a second set to I could keep both the T23's (a 2647)  DVD CDR original drive and the new DVD RW drive.

I've never run into part numbers (i.e., FRU) for the Ultrabay rails and I've changed out my fair share of them.  What I basically do is buy "dead" or "parts" optical drives off of eBay and then scavenge the rails and IDE connector.  I believe that there are at least two very slightly different designs; the thickness of the side rails is what changes.  It's never gotten to the point where the re-fitted drive doesn't fit into the Ultrabay but, depending on the drive and rails in question, there may be too much or too little space inside the bay.  Also, you should be careful when transferring screws from one drive to another.  I've found that on some drives, if the rear screws (the ones which hold the connector on the back of the drive) are slightly too long, then that can prevent the tray from closing.

  • Adapter needed for projector?

I purchased an Epson EX71 projector last night and cannot figure out how to connect it to my Mac Pro. Do I need a special mac adaptor? I want to display photos and dvds from my computer on it. Also, the cord is too short, are extensions available?
    TIA!!

It also has a VGA input, so a DVI to VGA cable should also work, depending on which video card you have in your Mac (some may not output VGA via the DVI port, though most should).

  • Help Needed for iPod Version 2.1

I have an old iPod version 2.1 and I'm trying to make it work with a new computer. I downloaded both the iPod software updater and iTunes 5. When I open my iTunes, instead of the iPod icon on the left with my name, it reads "Podcast." This is not the usual podcast file on the left toolbar, as that exists as well. As the iPod goes to sync, it shows all the songs I had on the old iPod in the "podcast" file (with the iPod icon next to it) and no files in my library. What have I done wrong? Is there any way to alleviate this problem? Any help would be appreciated?

When I tried to download new songs, they download into the correct library file, but don't appear in the "podcast" file. I tried renaming the "podcast" file with my name (as it was before) but it defaults to "podcast" when I close and reopen my iTunes.

  • Travel adapter for IPod touch 32 GB 3rd generation

    Dear All,
I do have a brand new IPod touch 32 GB, 3rd generation. As I will be travelling to the US I need a travel adapter. The travel adapter offered by Apple is per description only compatible with the 1st and 2nd generation.
Are you experienced? Does the original equipment also fit to the 3rd generation?
Thanks for your help in advance

There was a time when my iPod earphones bonked out. The volume/remote control did not work and the same things that you all said happened (i.e.: voice control turns on and off by itself, songs shuffle on their own, the song turns chipmunky, etc.) but these stopped when I took out the earphones. I replaced them with a new pari and all these did not recur.
My guess is that when the speakers/earphones you use have a problem with the plug thingy (the one where you plug into the unit), this may cause these erratic behaviors. Try replacing the speakers/earphones and see what happens.
I have since brought my earphones to the shop since my unit was still under warranty, and they have replaced it with a new pair. It's working perfectly now.

  • What adapter do I need for my ipod Nano 7th Generation to connect to a Sony home docking station (30 pin). I purchased the one recommended (Lightning to 30 pin adapter), but it says 'this accessory is not supported by this device)?

Could someone please tell me the correct lead I need for an Applie Ipod 7th Generation 16GB for a Sony docking station. I bought a Lightning to 30 pin adaptor that fits the dock but not the ipod (this was recommended to me by someone from the Apple shop believe it or not). I need one that will fit the ipod and then slot into the 30 pin dock. The dock pulls out and my old ipod (5th Generation) just slotted straight in, but this slot obviously doesn't fit. It would really help if someone can recommend what I need to use or even if there is one that just slots in or whether I need some sort of cable and can't use the docking station. I've had a lock at the Apple store but just keep getting confused about what does what and can't seem to see anything unless I need an additional cable to slot into the 30 pin adapter I already have?
    HELP - CONFUSED.COM!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.
