Can you advise me the procedure for showing a pop-up message, when an employee enters the distance traveled as more than 500miles while creating an expenses report. We want to limit the travel distance by 500miles. Thanks a lot for your help

My problem is when dragging point starts near the borderline between two cells(one source, one target) in a table, because mouse travel a long distance before it is recognized as a drag, so when mouse travels into the target, drag is recognized and dragNdrop takes target as source. Does Siebel license limits the Max task of Object Manager?

We installed a Siebel environment on a Linux VM (Linux version el6.x86_64, Read Hat 4.4.6-4, the VM has 64g ram). The database (Oracle 11.2.0.0.1) and Oracle Http Server (ofm_webtier_linux_11.1.1.6.0_32) were also installed in the same VM. We used HP loadrunner to do a performance testing, finding out the maximum concurrent user of Siebel Marketing OM. We've set the MT Server=1 and MaxTask=500. Every time the task of Marketing OM reaches 43, the OM just went "offline". No more task will be created. We check SWSE log, there were errors like "SBL-SMI-00216: Internal: Not an error, all the threads are busy". We don't know what was wrong with this. Does Siebel license limits the Max task of OM ? We used temporary Siebel license because the test was for a trial customer.

I don't think it's the license that is blocking, but technical resources.
You could try to set the MaxTask to 40 and the Max MT Server to something like 13.
But you have to check if your environment can handle 13 MT servers.

Custom Line Manager Data Role is limiting the Line Manager Actions

I have Created Custom Data Role on Seeded Line manager role and it is limiting the Line Manager actions (I see only Promotion and Manage Directs actions)
since i cant create a New data Role on Line Manager Abstract role. I followed these steps to do the same:
1. I have Created the 'SPS Plant Rep New' job role which inheritance the seeded 'Line Manager (HCM)'
2. i have Create the 'SPS Tulsa Plant Rep' data role with custom person Criteria (Include some locations and Exclude some Department)
3. i have assigned the 'SPS Tulsa Plant Rep' data role with person
4. ran the Retrieve process
5. Login as person who has the 'SPS Tulsa Plant Rep' data role and pick employee who meets the criteria and click on Actions, we are seeing only Promote and Manage Directs actions
but seed line Manager will have all actions like transfer, terminate, Change location, change manager.. ets but i am not seeing any of them.
my Custom Data role Suppose to restrict only people search not actions.
please refer the doc for all screenshots.

Is this "On Site" or on Cloud ? The actions that you mention are they secured by function security (that is with OPSS permissions) or data security restricting access on the actions on specific data ? If this is data security and you have access to the database you potentially use the Data Security PLSQL APIs to triage what the issue is.

Data manager-limited authorization

Hello experts,
I would like to define a user with limited access to the data manager. The user can view all records but can only upload images (JPG, TIF, GIF) to the Images table.
I created new role as set all access rights to NONE execpt from the following:
Tables - Image Variant - Read\Write
Function Tab - Images - Execute
When I assign this role to a user they can access the Data Manager, access the Images table but when they select add image they get the following error:
"Importing (file name) Failed...
Insufficient rights for operation"
What are the rights i need to assign to a user in order for them to only upkoad images but not to create other records?

Try by doing the following things:
Functions Tab: Assign all the records related function to execute like add, delete, mdify etc
Tables & fields Tab: Asign Read/Write access only to Images and Datagroups

Manager of the org.unit in HRMD_A

Hi All
I would like to send manager of the org.unit by using HRMD_A.
As I have setup HRMD_A with filter on Infotypes 0000, 0001, 0002, 0006, 1000 & 1001.
I thought the manager relationship will be send in IT 1001. But I don't see that information include in HRMD_A.
Any information or experience on this matter will be highly appreciated. Any other suggestions to how this problems can be solved are also welcome.

Yes as part of transaction BD64 you can create a filter for this. In fact I think you can limit it even further so that it filters just the managers. You can do this by not only selecting the infotype and object, but you can also limit is by 'related object' and subtype. So you can put the B12 as the subtype ( I think this is the chief subtype).
You could also use the evaluation path, but if your evaluation path generates too much data then you can limited using the filters in BD64.
As for using the change pointers programs versus PFAL I am not sure, I am currently having the same delima on which one to use.

In the process of creating Breacrumbs for our website
redesign, the Graphics Designer would like to use a special fonts.
We already know that this font will not be installed on most of
user client-side. She though about creating graphics to represents
the navigation (breadcrumbs) but I ask myself if we can use the
Font Management from the Coldfusion Administrator. I have no
experience with this feature and have not find interesting
information about it from the web.
Is it possible to use a font installed on the server-side
through CSS so the client/web-user will see the text with that

ECM - roll up functionality in ECM when a manager left the company

Hi Experts,
When a Manager B reports to Manager A. Manager B leaves the company and has 5 employees reporting to him; his position is now vacant in SAP. Should Manager A now see the 5 employees that reported to Manager B in Manager Au2019s list of direct reports in the initial planning screens? I meant automatically roll up to the one-up manager.
Currently, this is not happening in my system, the manger A need to go search from the Org Unit dropdown to find manager Bu2019s employees. Is there a configuration setting for this?

Hi Susan,
The recently released EhP4 constitutes "Multilevel Approval Process" centered upon the organizational structure of the enterprise, rather than the employees assigned to the units within it. Because the Multilevel Approval Process is based on the organizational structure, it is designed with the intent of simplifying, for each successively higher-level manager within that structure, the administration and execution of the entire compensation planning cycle.
Within the Multilevel Approval Process, the planning manager of an organizational unit is understood to be the manager who is responsible for submitting compensation planning data for employees of that unit who are not managers themselves.
Under normal circumstances, the planning manager of an organizational unit is synonymous with the manager of that unit u2013 provided that a corresponding user is assigned to that manager in the system. However, if an organizational unit has no manager, or if the manager of that organizational unit has no user in the system, then the next higher-level manager who has a user in the system becomes the planning manager for that organizational unit.
This is a completely new functionality. I don't think we have any option uptil EhP4.

I am a veteran user of your ColdFusion support forums. Over the last decade or so I have been visiting the site daily (indeed several times a day: I get notified when any post is made on any of your ColdFusion-centric forums), and answering as many of people's questions as I can. For the last few years it's been via the web UI so you can go check my participation, but prior to that I was using the forums via NNTP, and my participation during that period is less easy to quantify, but it's to the tune of a few thousand posts / answers to people's questions. I consider myself an asset to the forums, and the ColdFusion community. I mean this just as "for the record", rather than any attempt to inflate any sense of my worth.
However as of today - unless you take remedial action as I will go on to detail - I will be surrendering my membership of your forums, and ceasing all attempts to assist people there.
Why am I considering doing this? Well firstly I will reproduce a thread from your forums, then I will discuss it. Where possibly the quoted material below is as it was initially posted, and if it's not exactly as originally presented, this is an accident on my part. I have highlighted some points I wish to discuss with you, simply for ease of cross-reference.

First, ColdFusion is one word.
Second, what is a WIndows 8 server?
Third, and most important, you have provided ZERO detail. We can't help you if you don't provide something other than "none of our cfm web pages work". ColdFusion has logs (<coldfusionDir>/logs) JRun has logs (<coldfusionDir>/runtime/logs). Even if the Windows event viewer shows nothing, there should be info in those log files about what is going on.

Clearly I wish to speak to you about this censorship your moderator is choosing to undertake.
Firstly, let me say that I understand the perception that forums require moderation. Personally I think this position is of dubious merit, but so be it: it's a common practice. And I generally understand when I see things that have been moderated, or when a moderator step in and advises that they consider someone's wording contravenes forum guideline. I understand all this.
However.
I think the behaviour of your moderator in this situation is unacceptable. Let me elaborate.
Firstly, The highlighted comment of Jason's was removed. This comment stated - correctly - that the correct spelling of ColdFusion is as one word, as per his guidance. This comment was censored/redacted by your moderator. For the life of me, applying my most "socially modest" mindset, I cannot see what was wrong with Jason's comment, and why it needed any follow-up on any description. It was accurate advice.
The original poster's response to Jason was indeed a bit gratuitous, but - really - so what? No-one is taking offence here, and there's nothing anyone reasonable could take offence at. The person is just being a bit childish in their response. And, I hasten to add, at their own expense, I think. I see not reason to have redacted what they said.
We now come to my responses. One entire response I made was redacted (I've only just noticed this, whilst proofreading this letter). A number of tracts was redacted from my own initial post on the thread. Here I was simply explaining why Jason said what he did, and why it's good advice. And it was good advice. Your moderator here has removed both good advice, and an explanation as to why it was good advice. Again, I cannot fathom why your moderator has done this.
Following on from this I back-up Jason's assertion that the original post was inadequate on detail for us to help. This too is accurate. I reiterated this to try to make the origial poster see that Jason wasn't simply being unhelpful - to the contrary - pointing out we need more information before we can help is very good initial advice here. Advice that has now been deleted.
Next is some slightly contentious wording on my part, I suppose... at least if one doesn't actually read what I say, instead simply zooming in on one word and assessing it out of context. I pointed out that being abusive and writing in all-caps is unnecessary, and makes the person look like a dick. Note I didn't say the person was a dick (that would be abuse... very mild though), I was saying that given the behaviour the person was engaging in, they could be perceived that way. Which is... accurate. And saying someone is a dick and suggesting they could be perceived as a dick are two different things. One is ad hominem attack (bad), one is simply an observation / guidance (not bad).
At this point Jason drew my attention to this censorship going on. And this is another thing that I think is inappropriate on the part of the moderator. I have little problem with them thinking that content on this thread needs censorship (whilst they are wrong, they are entitled to their opinion), to silently and anonymously redact people's posts is an inappropriate - and to be frank cowardly - handling of this situation. If the moderator has an issue with something written on the forums, the courteous and professional thing to do would be to advise the participants that they have overstepped. This would give us a chance to remediate the situation, or to simply disagree. Simply excising someone's work - because this is volunteer work we are engaging in here - is unacceptable.
If anything ought to have been censored from the thread it was my last comment. Whilst it was accurate, I did use harsh sentiment, I accept this. However in the given situation, I don't think I have been the most out-of-line participant in proceedings.
I would like you to remediate this situation, and here is how I would like you to do it.
Restore Jason's original post. There was no reason to censor it.
Restore grazan's all-caps post. It was doing no harm.
Restore my second post (not the one laughing at Jason's joke, the longer one I discuss above). Again, useful and accurate information was removed from this post, and there was simply no reason to have had done so.
You can leave my last comment redacted. Fair enough. Whilst I stand by what I said, it is unhelpful in the context of the thread.
I also want the moderator to be censured, and I would like them to apologise for their behaviour, by posting on that thread explaining that they understand their behaviour was inappropriate and unacceptable.
If they are a community volunteer, they should be dismissed from their position. They are clearly not capable of fulfilling this role in a professional, well-balanced manner.
If they are an Adobe staff person, then the censure will have to be sufficient, although I think they should be relieved from their duties as a forum moderator, as they are not up to the task at hand.
Talk to your other moderators and advise them they need to act with a sense of balance and professionalism when moderating the forums.
In return, I will continue my participation on the forums, and continue to help the ColdFusion community members where I can, in the spirit of goodwill and co-operation. I will also try to convince Jason to do the same.
If you cannot see right to resolve this situation appropriate, I will surrender my membership of the forums and cease helping your community.

I suggest you take a breather and go do something else for a few days or weeks. Don't stomp your feet and say "I'm done for good, I won't be back", because like it or not, some of the reason you're here is to benefit YOU, and if you do go cold turkey you'll miss that benefit.
In other words, "never say never".
Like you, I have been extremely frustrated by the running of the forum from time to time as well. Sometimes it's the quality of the forum software, sometimes it's the mix of other immature people who comment, sometimes it's just me. Usually it's not the moderation or actual running of the forum, but I do understand where you're coming from.
I have benefited greatly on several occasions just by taking a vacation from forum participation.
We all have to understand two things:
1. We're able to communicate here by the good graces of Adobe, who are first and foremost a business, trying to achieve their business goals. They'd rather not upset all the idiots, because unfortunately idiots have money to spend too.
2. Nobody's perfect.
I'm not sure about the specifics, but the moderators are generally also volunteers. See item 2 above.
Hope you don't choose to stop contributing to the community, as no matter what, your contribution is good for the world.

Creative Cloud : Flash did not install but Application Manager says the program is "Up to Date"

I tried to instal Flash via the Application Manager the other day, my laptop went to sleep during install and when I woke it back up again the installation had frozen. I closed the manager and rebooted my laptop. The application manager now says that Flash installed and is "Up to Date"
But the application is not on my laptop... I looked in the adobe folder and there is nothing for flash. Searching comes up with no results.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app manager but the same thing appears, I have no way to reinstall Flash. If you have any ideas please let me know!

I am having a similar issue. Application manager says these programs are installed: Ps, Ae, Dw, Sg, Pl, Creative Cloud, but only Air and Premiere show in the Programs and Features panel as having been installed. The directories are all there, too, under Programs, but the programs won't run (nothing on start menu or in the programs list from that).
In addition, you say to uninstall the Application Manager, but it's not listed on the installed programs either. If I click on the downloaded file for it's intallation, it simply runs the program, as if it's already installed. Shouldn't it be under Progams and Features as an uninstallable program?
So, first, how do I uninstall the Application Manager? I like the idea of using this simple interface, so would like to continue to use it again after re-install.
Second, I would try manually installing the programs that are missing, but I don't know if that's safe considering the targeted directories are already full of files and data, as if they were installed, but didn't register properly with Windows to be able to be run.
I am not blaming Adobe on this, by the way, but I suspect that, because it was taking so long to install all the listed programs, I left the computer on and went to sleep, and possibly some power-saving feature interrupted the installation progress. It's a brand-new, very fast laptop, a Lenovo Y500 with Windows 8, and I just don't know how to control everything on it yet.
What to do?

I can no longer save images from websites. It starts the download. It stays in my Download manager however the image doesn't save. How can I fix this?

When I attempt to to save an item with right click "save as" I select my directory and then click save. This brings up the download manager. However once the image has "downloaded" I cannot find the file. The file name remains in my Download manager but the file is physically not on my computer. Both the Open and Open Containing file are greyed out. I can still save Images with other browsers.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting or removing the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

How to turn off color management in the print dialogue

Canon Pixma MG 8250
Profile MG series 8200 GL3/SG3 for Glossy paper.
It is stated that "remember to turn off color managment in the print dialog" when using custom profile (I assume the Profile MG...) is regarded as a custom profile...
I have been lookoing in the print dialogue and I can not find any way to turn off colour managment...
Is this only valid for Microsoft Windows of Is there something I do not understand ?
