Travel to US from Aus

Hi everyone.
I want to purchase an Ipad here in Aus. Will I beable to use the 3g service if I get a mini sim card for it. Are all ipads unlocked.
Also does anyone know whether there is any issues with the power charger. US is 110v and Aus 240v. I assume I just need to get an aus to us plug adapter so it fits into the us power points.
My hotel has wifi so suspect its a matter of logging on to their system when in hotel, but when Im on the road we would like to use it as well.
Any tips would be great. Im leaving in 5 weeks so want to get an ipad for my son to keep him entertained but also do the email web surfing etc.

Also am I better off using an iphone 4 which I intend getting here in australia and using that as a tether for 3g access for the ipad.Can that be done..

Myself a Lenovo user from India, recently moved to Aus for Job purposes. Thought of buying the Lenovo, (I do think its a good pick among the top guys and had an excellent service from India (I miss my country!!) ). bought a B590. Had an issue with battery slot(battery is bit shaking when it is locked well in its compartment), keypad(certain keys were not working) and camera(took advice from forum and re installed camera software, but when it came after the service it is not working. I am fed up, bought a smart phone instead! extra $700) as soon as I bought it. Went back to service and came with a lovely note from service guys saying that they couldnot find any issues with working of battery(who said there was!!???) Thank some one noticed the issues with Keyboard and corrected it (feeling blessed). The head ache is that you cannot talk directly to the service personnel (I mean the guy who actually take care of ur machine, atleast some one in that environment) you have to explain all your matters to some one at Malaysia, Thailand and wait for the response which they assure (Assurance is all I got nothing further.) And wondering why the service personnel, who is from Aus can not call me directly (its easy to call some one who is residing in Aus, if you have a plan on ur phone) than calling these OUTSOURCED guys and asking them to inform me. I would like to inform or rather remind LENOVO management about a childhood play (thought provoking) where kids sit in a round and one tell a sentence in next guys ears and then it has to be passed on. When it reaches to the guy who has started it, will realize it has been entirely different or atleast the meaning might have changed due to simple changes in the wods during the mistakes during the course of its travel.
(thank God I feel relieved, because It happened in Feb-March and I unwantedly kept it in mind for last few weeks)

1) You have no chance at returning anything at Best Buy after 30 days. At any of the stores I've worked at they are super d*cks about returns. Best Buy is EXTREMELY competitive and hate margin loss (returns).
2) Each time BBY has to repair something it will take at least 30 days (and up to 2 months during the holiday season). Think about that. If you have three problems with the iPod that's going to be a third of the year you're not eve going to have the thing. Also, they don't care if you're satisfied or not with the iPod. If a Geek Squad rep. sees that it works he'll make you take it back. Only the forth time you bring an item in for service will you get a new one (lemon law).
3. Going back to the service issue -- After you bring an item in to be fixed after the manuf. warranty is up, you only have one chance to get it fixed. It takes 4 chances to get a new (service) item.
Like I stated before -- if you buy any other type of MP3 player (other than an Apple based one) at BBY you won't have to deal with that whole service issue. Stick to Apple Care my friend.

Travel booking details from Travel desk to traveller

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement wherein requester raises a travel request. Travel desk books a ticket, hotel accomodation and car for traveller.
How can we capture these details in system across trip ID?
How ticket booking, hotel booking and car booking details be sent intimated back to employee through workflow or any other SAP standard methodology?
Can you please provide T-codes as well for this purpose?

Calendar Travel Time Starting from Work when I want to Start from Home

I am having a problem with travel time in Calendar. It will autopopulate with where it thinks I should be. I don't work during the daytime, and when I schedule in an entry for work, it wants to have me leaving from work. Is there any way to change it manually to start from home instead?

To set your starting location, Calendar first looks for your location in any events that are up to three hours before this event. If Calendar doesn’t find a location, it uses your work address during work hours and your home address during other hours. (Your work hours are set in Calendar preferences using the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” menus.) If your card in Contacts doesn’t have your addresses, Calendar uses your computer’s current location.

Travelling to Europe from Canada, what kind of converter do I need?

I was told I only need a little adapter to convert the prongs, as a transformer would overheat the laptop and break it essentially. As long as it's 120-240 V, I should be fine (travelling to Ukraine, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia). I am from Canada, and was planning on purchasing a power surge protector in Europe and just using the adaptors to plug into the surge protector.

From Canada you only need plug pin adaptors for the European plug configuration. Canada uses the same plug as the US, and most European countries use the same or very is,ilar two round pin plugs. Plug adaptors are available in most international airports on the Continent.
The Apple charger is rated 100-240 volts at 50-60 Hz so conversion is not needed.
In Canada if you have a Radio Shack store you can usually find a European plug adaptor.

Traveling to UK from USA - Need 3G in London

We are travelling to the UK from the USA next month. We will have both our iPad 4th generation with Retina and iPhone5 in London and need unlimited coverage while we are there for both Data on the iPad and Voice on the iPhone. We read somewhere that there are several Internet carriers in the UK that offer services via a sim card. We are not sure how this would work, given that our devices are probably locked to AT&T. We not even sure if there is already a sim card on our devices that covers our AT&T 3G service in the USA, or if it simply means temporarily changing the sim cards. Could some please advise which is the better carrier for the home counties around London, and where and how do we obtain and install the sim. Thanks

Your iPads should not be carrier locked and all the UK carriers offer PAYG data sims available in their numerous High Street stores
I would consider 3network as they only have a 3G network ,no GPRS and often depending where you are you might only get a GPRS signal with the others
Wifi is available in Coffee shops hotels ,sometimes free sometimes chargeable (hotels)sort of all over
iPhones unless unlocked by AT&T will only work on a roaming basis along with the normal excessive roaming charges .There may be packages for deals on roaming from AT&T

Before you change country make sure you have downloaded and backed up any purchases from your previous country's store. You will not be able to redownload them again once you change countries and it won't be easy to change countries to the previous one once you lose your payment method for the former country (as well as a wait period). As long as you have them on your cmputer you will be okay.

BlackBerry Travel phantom notifications from previous user

I experience the weird issue, when a person who got my old Z30 keeps receiving BlackBerry Travel notifications about MY flights. I mean, I security wiped Z30 before giving it to my friend, I deleted it from BlackBerry Protect and BlackBerry Link. I moved to Passport, signed in on it using my BlackBerry ID. My friend signed in on his Z30 with his BlackBerry ID. We both are using BlackBerry Travel with different BlackBerry IDs, but he keeps receiving notifications about my trips. When he opens BB Travel it shows only his flights, not mine. But notifications about my flights are still coming to his Z30.
So, he kinda knows where I'm flying to and stuff like that. It's good he is my friend and not some stranger. But still, the issue is obvious.
Would really like to know how to fix it.
I'm using BB Travel v3.3.1.7 running on BlackBerry Passport (OS 10.3.1.2072). My friend is using the same OS and Travel version on his Z30.

To further clarify;
The Data plan IS required and additional cost accepted-
The Messaging was never disclosed as a requirement- additional cost unplanned and unacceptable.
Footnote... I have seen on some info blogs mention of resetting network to resolve--- it may be possible I was mis-directed, and further testament to the utter frustration.

is it possible to insert a R3 control that check the number of Travel Expenses of a certain type (f.e. "meal") that the user inserts from SAP portal linked to a single trip, f.e. an user exit I can use?
I don't need this control when you try to save the trip, but when you check the Travel Expenses insertion.

I have moved from Australia to UK and I would like to swap my details to the UK, country of residence, billing address etc. I have spent over $4,000 on iTunes including extra iCloud storage and iTunes match. I want to be able to keep app's, music, movies and my Cloud/Match exactly the same. How do I do this?
Everytime I go to do it a message says that all of my purchases will be lost?
I need help but in real somple step by step easy as I am not hugely PC literate and still working out the whole Apple iTunes product behind the scenes so please help me in the simplistic way possible.

Because of different local copyright laws and licensing you cannot keep everything exactly the same except for iCloud, which is not affected. You will have to create a new Apple ID for use on the UK iTunes Store with a form of payment drawn on a local bank and an address in the UK. As long as you have downloaded all your purchases and the computer is still authorized to play all protected video content that won't change, however Apps may give you trouble when updating because once associated with an Apple ID you can only switch between stores every 90 days.
As for iTunes Match you must contact Australian iTunes Store support to cancel the subscription and you will have to resubscribe on the UK store.

on iCal (Mavericks), how to change the traveltime mode before an event ? i only have the "time" choice with "5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours". I would like to choose "foot/walking" , "car" or "Train/bus".

I do not know what a metafile image is, but you can try creating a PDF of the page that has the image. Then open the one-page PDF in Illustrator and delete everything except the image. Then deal with the image in Illustrator however you need to do.
