  • Clock problems Incredible 2

my HTC Droid Incredible 2 has developed clock problems this past week.
-when I tap the clock part of the clock and weather widget nothing happens.
-tapping on the weather part of the clock and weather widget works like it should.
-the lock screen shows that my alarm is set for my weekday alarm, but the alarm never goes off.
-when I open the app drawer there is no clock or alarm clock icon.
-when I press the search icon on the Home screen and type C the only applications shown are Calculator & Calendar.
Anybody have any idea what is going on and how I can get the clock / alarm clock function to work again?
    Thanks,

    I tried your suggestion:
-when I go to settings>applications>manage applications>clock the button to forceclose, clear data, clear cache are all grayed out and can't be pushed.
    Is this a known problem?
Is there any date when it might be fixed?
Is there any less drastic way to solve this problem besides a factory reset?
The factory reset worked, but I really don't want to continually have to do that.

  • Widget clocks, counters,   iweb

HI All ? So i have 2 I web pages going
    cjthedjmanc.om and
http://web.me.com/daycareinfo2/Site/Welcome.html/ My ? I need to add things, like counters, clocks, But I went to widgets down loaded a clock but my ?
How do i place it on my web page iweb building it on my mac? I need step by step im kinda slowwww. I get you copy the widget text then place it but place it ?

It's not easy to add widgets to pages made in iWeb '06. But if you upgrade to iWeb '08, you can easily add widgets as explained here:

  • Widget clock : missing "i"

    Hello,
since I upgraded to Mountain Lion the little "i" icon to set the clock in the dashboard has disappeared. I need to set that clock to another timezone... How can I do it? How how can I get it back?

Perhaps this is a stupid question, but did you put your mouse over the clock widget? If you don't, the 'i' button doesn't appear.

  • Traveling Abroad w/ Droid Incredible

I have heard conflicting accounts about using the HTC Incredible wifi while traveling overseas.
Some people say if you find a wifi hotspot, you can connect to the internet.  Keeping the phone in airplane mode (not making phone calls or using SMS).
Others say you will be charged for using wifi services regardless.
    Any solid advice?
    Thanks!

We went on a cruise in December and I did just what you wanted to do too.
Left the phone in airplane mode once we left Miami but on the islands that had free wifi, there's no charge by Verizon. Also used the GPS for geocaching and geotaging pictures too.

  • Default Clock/Weather widget

Questions about the huge default clock/weather widget:
    1. From what service does it get its weather info?
    2. If I were to remove it and use other clocks/alarm and/or weather services, would the default widget still be running in the background? In other words, would it be a battery drain to use a different clock/alarm/weather services because then there are two processes running?
    Thanks.

Pearson The weather widget on the incredible 2 is like the first incredible an you can change in the custom settings to what ever widget you want an to different clocks an should'nt hurt nothing at all as i've changed
mine several times. in the near year i've had my Dinc.  Give em a try but if you want to go back its easy to do just Go to Menu > Settings > Personalize > My Sceenes an look for the Verizon Scene or HTC an it will pute the
Original one back on there or you can pute one of the other Custom ones that are listed.

  • S4 Widgets Freeze after short time.

I use a couple of auto-updating widgets, including a trasparent clock/weather widget and the FlightStats travel widget.  Both were repeatedly freezing on me.  Not just update freezing, but I couldn't even raise the flightstats screen from the widget at all.  I could get them to start responding by cycling the phone, or by killing TouchWiz and letting the launcher itself restart.
After poking around on some other forums, it's obvious that the launcher is at fault.  I downloaded Nova Launcher Free, and imported my config from TouchWiz, and I haven't had a widget freeze since.  It's now a week since I changed over.  PReviously, my widgets would go braindead in a matter of hours after starting.
I am happy that I have (apparently) solved the freezing problem, but I'd much rather run the supported TouchWiz launcher.  Does anyone know if Samsung/Verizon is aware of this issue?  Might I expect addressal of the issue?

  • Droid Incredible 4G LTE - Ridiculous bloatware killing phone (Staff response requested)

Before you even read all of it, please tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree, and where I need to go to get an answer to this.
My question is: Why can't I uninstall default apps I don't want?
I was given a Droid Incredible 4G LTE for Christmas to replace my 4 year old Droid Eris, and while I really really like this phone, its battery life is an issue. So my first thought is, "keep the brightness down, install a task killer and see if that helps." Hardly. My battery life has gone from 6 to around 8 hours of minimal use, so I've done some more digging around. Looking around the advanced task killer app on my incredible 4g LTE, I am appalled at how many forced applications and services are on this phone, AND how they start up randomly and cannot be stopped. I have multiple examples prepared after only owning this phone for three days.
First off, what in the world is the deal with this forced bloatware? NFL Mobile, Amazon Kindle, TuneIn and Slacker radio, Amazon MP3, Verizon Tones, Google+, etc. These apps cannot be uninstalled, and many of them open automatically upon startup and slow the phone/eat battery life. Ex: slacker radio, google+, Amazon MP3 opens whenever I open my music. I can't even disable them without having to root my phone and use an app freezer, and I can't even do that because Verizon refuses to release an HTCDev unlocker for the 4G LTE. (but I can sort of understand that for people taking advantage of the 4g capability)
Why in the world would anyone think that this was a good idea?
I fully read the terms and conditions of my contract to ensure that this wasn't included, and after nearly an hour, Verizon does not reserve any right to manage a user's personal applications against their will, only the phone's operating system. I don't want NFL Mobile, Amazon Kindle, TuneIn and Slacker radio, Amazon MP3, Verizon Tones or Google+, and I have no way to uninstall or disable them. That is RIDICULOUS. I even have an option to defer from software/firmware updates, the fact that I can't remove these unwanted applications is insulting.
    Also, some other examples:
4 instances of Google Maps open at once for no apparent reason. I don't have anything (weather widget, clock, weather lock screen) that warrants google maps or location services needing to open. What in the world is going on there?
My bluetooth service cannot be force stopped.
My Notes (two instances of this app open) and Calender applications open randomly; although I intend to keep and use these apps, this is very annoying.
Facebook opens randomly for no apparent reason.

The DROID Incredible 4G LTE should already be running either Android 4.0+ for its operations system. Which means you can disable many of the pre-installed applications. Go to settings > Apps > slide to the All view. Disable each application individually. You might have to uninstall any updates before the disable button is available.
The DROID Eris is only three years old. It was released in November 2009. 12 minus 9 equals 3.
Also you should be aware, you posted your message on the Verizon Wireless Community. This is a peer to peer forum where customers can give suggestions and advice to other customers with their questions and issues.
If you need immediate assistance call customer service at *611 from your phone or 1-800-922-0204 from another phone. You can also use the "Contact Us" link at the top of the website. However the response from that avenue might also be delayed due to the holidays.

  • Android 2.2 Reverts to Default email settings when roaming - Droid Incredible

When traveling with my Droid Incredible and want to send an email the phone often will lose my SMTP settings. At the same time it reverts to default settings for send / receive which means it will delete messages from POP server! Is there a roaming setting somewhere on this?

  • Widget Gives Performance Stats -- But What Do They Mean?

I just downloaded a widget --iStat Pro 3.2 -- that gives performance measures on my iMac.
Now I have measures but wonder how to read them.
For example my iMac has 1.25 gb of memory -- it came with 256 and I added 1 gb.
    The widget shows memory:
    wired 137 mb
    active 230 mb
    inactive 640 mb
    free 271 271 mb
(of course these numbers change depending on what I'm doing)
Any idea what these four measures mean? I take it "wired" is what's needed to "keep the lights on" and active is what's running but what would the difference be between inactive and free?
My CPU stats often show almost 100% usage -- split between "user" and "system" with only a few % "free" or "nice" -- even as I run iTunes, Firefox, Entourage and a few widgets (clock, weather, ...). If this is 100% whaqt happend when I start to do other things?
The numbers seem weird but then again I have no idea to what I should compare.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

All the info you want on the RAM usage is found HERE in a KB article. It explains it rather nicely.
Sometimes, apps have creeping memory and CPU usage. The longer they are open, the more resources they take up. Quitting the apps resets this. I have found that Safari in particular is a hog which is why I use Camino for browsing.
In activity monitor, check the option to show all processes and there are probably a few things that you would not see right away running. Also, if there is more than one user logged in at the same time, that would take up more cycles.

  • [Solved] Icon changing with Vicious, based on widget value (AwesomeWM)

Ideally, I want to be able to use Vicious (or some other suitable library, but Vicious seems to be the best) to allow the icons I set for widgets to change colors upon certain states. I achieved this with conky + dzen2: for example, my widget icon plus text would change from blue to red when I receive a new message, battery charge went to a certain level, etc.
So, the Vicious README establishes that widgets can use functions to shape output based on the returned values. This would be sufficient, except I wish to also change the icon, either the color or if it appears at all.
For that latter point, I bring you to the problem at hand. I am trying to write an MPD vicious widget that will, if nothing is playing, output nothing (including no icon);  if it is playing, it will initialize the imagebox widget of the icon, and also output the now playing text. As one could observe, I have just followed the Vicious README when doing this, modifying it to also (ideally) create an imagebox when something is playing.
However, nothing is output to the wibox, whether something is playing or not.
I am very new to Lua, so perhaps I am making some trivial error, I would just like to find some way to make this happen.
You can find my entire rc.lua here, but here is the widgets/wibox portion:

Create an imagebox widget for mpd icon. Where you did all the others. You could then set its .image field to nothing or nil (image(nil)). In the format function of the mpd textbox widget you can then toggle that image to an actual png or back to nil.
Your widgets not showing up at all are probably connected to the mess you made in the wibox section, with the "container" stuff.

  • Widget calendar and time

I recently moved to Seoul, from Portland, and I'm trying to get this figured out. I changed the time and date on my computer to Seoul time, but I'd like to keep my widget calendar and clock to Portland time for quick reference.
However, I changed the clock date and time, and when I put in "portland" for the clock, it stays at Seoul time. Does my computer think I'm still in Portland? I'm confused. How do I get it to work like I want it to?

    Hi pdxmeghan,
I'm from Vancouver but am living near Guangzhou, China. I solved this problem by changing my computer time to Canton time and then placing 2 widget clocks on my desktop so that I have both Vancouver time and Canton time whenever I click widgets on the dashboard. You can have as many widget clocks running at the same time as you like, from what I can tell.
To change the time on them you simply click the small " i " button on the bottom right side at which point the clock turns over and you input the time and city. Hope this helps. Vee.

  • Sense Analog Clock

Been using Sense Analog Clock  for months now without a problem.  Now after update, clock does not keep time if I am on the app screen or using the browser or even after it goes to sleep.  When I awaken the device back to the home screen the widget time is not the correct time as the time in the upper right hand corner.  After the minute changes from the system clock, then the widget clock updates itself.  Has anyone else run into this problem?  Any solutions for the widget keeping accurate time all the time?

In that case, I would suggest emailing the developer and asking if they can fix/find the bug. The developer's can be found on the application's Market description page.

  • Massive power drain after Belle Refresh update on ...

    Hello
From being a minor annoyance the massive power drain from my N8 after Belle Refresh update is now a big problem!
The battery does not even last a full day now
No apps running - power save on, but to no avail.
After advice from Nokia Support I've tried to reinstall Belle Refresh again from Nokia Suite, but it didn't make a difference.
What else can be done? Is it possible to uninstall Belle Refresh completely?
Some have suggested it is because of the weather widget. Any confirmation from Nokia on that issue?

I have Belle refresh for over a month now and I keep running the weather widget permanently on first screen. Overall the power consumption is the same as before on Anna (I skipped the first Belle incarnation).
The only particular thing here is that I flashed clean the full 111.40.1511 version for my phone language. All I can tell is that in the first days after flashing the power drain was significant, merely because of intense phone usage, part of various customizations or just by curiosity. Since then the power consumption has slowly came back to "normal" for my daily usage habits.
Currently running widgets: clock, profile, weather, next coming event, BBC feed, WiFi, 3G, data usage counter, Nokia Battery Monitor, locations near me. Also Nokia Sleeping Screen is active. I gave up in using email widgets because I only use IMAP manual fetch mode and in this mode they are completely useless.
