Does anyone know if we can expect a portable docking station, similar to the TravelDock Zen Micro, for the Vision:M anytime soon? I just got a Vision:M, but now I'd like to have a portable docking station (or even a non-portable) speaker system combination. Anyone know if they exist or will exist soon? Thanks.

No, I don't think they do have one in the shop. They have a TravelDock for the Zen Micro/Micro Photo and several universal "docks", but nothing specific to the Vision:M. On the M, it is a really great player. I've very impressed with the sound quality and especially the quality of the screen. I haven't had any problems with it so far and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a harddrive player.

I can't track my order number (except for vision)

I Placed an order to move my phone line, broadband, broadband talk and Vision earlier this week.
For the phone line my reference was beginning with the letter "x" and It won't let me track it online as it says it needs to start with "bt" or "vol".
I waqs at the same time given a different reference number for vision which does indeed begin with vol and I
can track that part fine.
Please could you possibly look into it for me and email me if you have any success?
I would really appreciate it as I then have something to link to the all aspects of the order if I have any problems!

LabVIEW version for Vision Builder AI 2012 plugins

Hi all,
Ii was a bit of a challenge to find out which version of LabVIEW was necessary to develop custom plugins for Vision Builder AI 2012, I found it by starting the installler, it is LabVIEW 2011 (but I wish I could find this information in Vision Builder AI 2012 readme file).
Now my question is : is it possible to use LabVIEW 2011 SP1 to develop custom plugins for Vision Builder AI 2012?

Right... I tried, I installed all the VBAI and LabVIEW versions I could.
I turns out LV 2011 sp1 is just an upgrade of 2011 and as such LV2011 SP1 can be used to develop custom plugins for Vision Builder AI 2012.

Looking for Vision 7.1.1 runtime engine

Hi,
I have a vision application that has always been used on the development machine. Now I need to deploy it.
It's written in LabVIEW 7.1.1 maintainence release, with Vision development 7.1.1. I can't go newer on the development environment as the target machine is Win NT.
The application supports a linescan camera - allows adjustment, captures image, saves to disk.
I have a deployment license and deployment engine CD , version 7.0, so I need an update to 7.1.1.
I can't find it anywhere. Downloads available on NI.com jump from 7.0.1 to 8.0
I have searched the forumes for the answer without luck. Does anyone have any pointers?

just to tidy this up for others on the forum,
The Vision Run Time Engine for 7.1.1 was part of the Vision Deployment Engine and was a purchasable part, so not available for download.
If you require this, then we need to check with your internal sales engineer with regards to entitlement etc, and then we can burn the cd.
For each deployment of your Vision applications that uses this Run Time Engine you need to purchase a license, as the Run Time Engine for Vision is not freely distributable in the same was as the LabVIEW one is.
We've already spoken to "Bandit" and resolved this so a CD is on the way.

DAC for Vision M or how to connect to Amp

) What is the best DAC for the Zen Vision M? Are there any docking stations the Creative MP3 players available? Or do I just find a DAC that will take a USB input? I'm sure there is a way to get the best sound to my music system but I haven't been able to find this...

- DAC = Digital to Analog Converter.
I'm no geek - but the way I understand this is that the quality of the converter is a huge impact to the quality of sound. Now the MP3 player (Zen or Ipod) has it's own internal DAC which is how you get the sound in the headphones. But there are docking stations or external DACs which essentially bypass the MP3 player's internal DAC and do the conversion from the mp3 directly, resulting in much better sound.

Standing out is the Wadia DAC which bypasses the Ipod internal DAC. http://www.wadia.com/products/transports/70i/
But there is nothing I've been able to find for the Zen. Right now I'm just taking a cable from the headphone jack to the amplifier.

Video driver for Vision

Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to display an image on a Real-Time Desktop using Vision. To do this, I am using the RT Video Out with Overlay example. The VI appears to run, however there is no new image displayed on the monitor and when I stop te VI, Labview returns error
-174396016. It also states there is no video driver installed (IMAQ Vision 0xBFF60490).
How can I resolve this error?

The IMAQ RT Video Out feature is available only on systems that feature the i815 chipset or the i845 chipset. The currently the following devices are supported by this function:
Device
Functionality
NI 8195, and NI 8196
Does Not Support RT Video Out
NI 8184, NI 8185, NI 8186, and NI 8187
Supports full functionality
NI 8175, and NI 8176
Supports full functionality
NI 8170, NI 8156B, and NI 8140 RT Series
Does Not Support RT Video Out
If you are using a PXI Controller that does support the RT Video Out functionality and you still can't see your images, you should try using the IMAQ Video Out Display Mode VI to configure the video mode before you attempt to display the images. This VI allows you to set the refresh frequency, screen area, and color depth. Note that if you are using a monitor that does not support high refresh frequencies, the images do not display correctly. Refer to the monitor documentation for information about supported refresh frequencies.

Run-time License for Vision builder

I have created a VBAI file for my inspection in, but now I want to transfer the inspection LabVIEW and build an exe to run the application.
Now for running that application do I require a NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection Run-Time License or a NI Vision Development Module Run-Time License.

Instead of migrating to LabVIEW, you might want to consider automating Vision Builder from LabVIEW and running your inspection by using the VBAI API.
Check out the examples located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 2013\API Examples\LabVIEW Examples.
The VBAI API allows to start a VBAI engine, open and run an inspection and retrieve images and results for each step.
When using this method, if you're running the LabVIEW program on the same machine VBAI is installed, you do not need to purchase the VBAI runtime, neither the Vision Development Module Runtime (unless you wish to process further the image returned by VBAI.
If you need to deploy that LabVIEW application on a different machine, then you'll need to purchase a VBAI Runtime license.
If you choose instead to migrate the inspection to LabVIEW, then you will need to purchase a full license of Vision Development module for your development machine (the code generated uses Vision Development Module VIs).
If you choose to build the resulting code into a LabVIEW application and deploy it on a different machine, you will need a Vision Development Module Runtime License for the deployment machine (but not a VBAI license).
Migrating the code to LabVIEW is recommended only in cases where you need to modify the code generated by VBAI. The code generated is indeed a lot more complex than using the VBAI API that I described in the first option.

Elements 12 manual for vision impaired

I am wondering if there is another manual available for Photoshop Elements 12 with a larger font type? I am unable to print pages with larger font and when trying to read on my ipad I am unable to increase the font size. Is there assistance with the manual for the vision impaired?

You might be better off downloading the PDF version of the manuals from https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements.html and using the ipad in-built reader to view them. Lossless for Vision W availab

I haven't been able to do WMA lossless on my Zen Vision W and I've been looking everywhere for an answer. I saw the petition on these forums for lossless audio support but it didn't list the Vision W on the petition to add lossless. Is there a lossless codec supported on the Vision W and if so which one is it's
If not, can we add it to the petition for lossless audio support?

IMAQ WindDisplayMapping...for Vision Image Display Control?

The IMAQ WindDisplayMapping operates on an IMAQ window display. Is there an equivalent fx that will operate on the Vision Image Display Indicator that can be placed on LabVIEW front panel? (Or do I need to code up the equivalent fx?)

Use a property node and select 16 bit image mapping. You can create a control for this or whatever you need. If you select the individual elements, you can get enumerated controls.

Specs on AC adapter for Vision M pla

Could someone who has a Vision M AC adapter please look at the fine print on the plug and tell me what the voltage/wattage is on it's?I have a wall AC adapter suitable for USB connectors and would like to know if it is compatible. The specs on it are Output: ?5.V / 20mA?ThanksDBW

Unless the adapter says input 120v/220v you will need to use a voltage converter or purchase a 220v adapter from Sony directly.

Is Euro firmware for Vision:M 30GB volume limitin

I read somewhere that the shipped firmware for the Vision:M 30GB is "volume limited" - is this correct ?
If so, is there an alternati've firmware to correct this ?

I hope your music is backed up elsewhere.Depending on what firmware you have installed you may lose ALL of your music files since part of the process may be to format the dri've. What firmware do you have installed if you know?They don't make it easy to find these things. but when you go to the Support Page & click Products.(in this case MP3 players)If you scroll down to the bottom you will see click here for products not listed above & then choose your player.
