Travelling from Australia to Japan

Can I use my Australian 3G iphone in japan?

You should be able to especially since the iPhone is sold in Japan.
Via AT&T's website in the U.S. when checking countries that are compatible with the iPhone, Japan is shown as being compatible for voice and data with my 3G.
If you have a carrier locked iPhone with an Australian carrier, you should check with your carrier regarding their international roaming rates in Japan and which carrier or carriers in Japan is an international roaming partner with your carrier in Australia. If you have an unlocked iPhone, even better.

  • Travel from US to Japan; Want to forward US Skype ...

I am currently traveling to Japan for a year. I canceled my US cell phone before moving to Japan.
I want to obtain US skype ID to communicate with my friends in US, and would like to forward incoming calls to my JP prepaid cell phone number. Is it possible to foward US skype# to JP phone?
    Thank you,

This is what I do when I travel overseas. I travel about once a month. I use this service www. Kall8.com. I can be reached anywhere in the world with a toll free number for $2 a month. I have a US subscription with skype so I can call home to landlines and cell phones.  For you to have a skype number you can only answer on skype as you would need credit if you were not on wifi. Kall 8  looks expensive to call Japan it looks like .80 a minute. There is another price for special service at 2.80/min do not know if that is for cell phone or some special number they have in  Japan.  There are other services out there do some research and you can find a solution that is right for you.
If you found a post useful, please give Kudos. If it helped to fix your issue, mark it as a solution to help others.
    Thank You!

  • Traveling to Australia and I want a complete commu...

I will be traveling in Australia for a month from the USA and I would like the most economical way to communicate back to the US with customers, employees, and family.
I will have a laptop and an iPhone 5S with me.
I would like for customers to be able to call my USA cell number and leave voice messages that I can retrieve while in Australia.  It seems that this can be done if I buy a skype number and forward my cell number to the Skype number.
I would also like to be able to make calls from my cell phone or laptop to cell numbers and landlines in the USA.  It seems that this can be done with a subscription.
And, since one of my crew leaders is deaf, I would like to be able to send and receive text messages.  I'm not sure what I need for this.
Also, I can't find if there are any additional costs for phone calls.  Is there a cost per minute for calls made to my cell phone from the USA while I'm in Australia if I forward my current cell number to a Skype number?
Is there a cost per minute for cell calls made from Australia back to the USA?
Or, are these 'per minute' costs covered by a subscription.

I posted this question 3 weeks ago, and have not gotten any replies.  Does anyone know if a phone number I could call to speak to someone at Skype who could answer my questions?

  • I am traveling to Australia and want to know what I need, in the form of converters/adapters to be able to safely recharge.

I am traveling to Australia and need to know what I need, converter, adapter, etc. to safely charge?

Apple power supplies (bricks) work on all voltages and frequencies in the world, so it doesn't matter where you come from or where you go to ......
You will need an adaptor to make the wall plug provided fit in the Australian sockets, buy that at the airport when you get there.
    That's it

  • Traveling to Australia

I will be traveling to Australia next month... wanting to call skype to skype back to United States.  Does skype work in Australia and will there be a fee for these calls?

I will be traveling to Australia and would like to call various United States landline and mobile numbers from Skype. My question is which service plan would I need to purchase: Unlimited U.S. and Canada or Unlimited Australia? The site doesn't clearly specify which plan calls which country.

  • I want to take my Mac to the US (from Australia) with me, do I need to do anything special and will it work over there? Thanks

I want to take my Mac desktop to the US, from Australia. Do I need to do anything special to be able to do this? Will it work?
    thanks

It will work fine - all you need is a travel adaptor to convert the power connector. You don't need a transformer or anything like that.

I can't send email from my iPad. I am from Australia but on holidays in Greece. Does anyone know what is the smtp outserver for Greece that I should use?

As you haven't told us who your email provider is, no.
There isn't an SMTP server for Greece - it is either provided by your email provider, or the Internet provider you are connected through.

  • When travelling from US to UK and France what do I need to charge macbook and iPhone?

When travelling from US to UK and France what do I need to charge macbook and iPhone?

Just a pin converter and your Apple US Power adapters (100-240v 50/60Hz)
The European sockets take 2 x round pins, adapter available from  in most drug stores carrying travel aids as is the UK pin converter.
UK is heavier 3 x rectangular pins

  • I am traveling from the US to France and have a Macbook Pro. Can I just use a plug adaptor or do I need a power converter to plug in?

I am traveling from the US to France and have a Macbook Pro. Can I just use a plug adaptor or do I need a power converter to plug in?

Just an adapter to change the US plug style to the one in the country you are going to. The AC charger will do the rest. It is rated for 120-240 volts and will adjust on  its own.

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
    Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.
Policy is policy. Get over it.

  • I bought my iphone from australia and i cant use it here in philippines

My husband bought a 2nd hand iphone from Australia for a present. but doesnt work here in philippines.
I try to connect to itunes but looks like is lock. we already call the telstra as what my husband say its working properly there,
but until now, dont have responce.. so what i need to do??

Get the phone unlocked from the carrier in Australia - they are the only ones who can do this and you will then be able to use the phone.
If it is the activation lock, then you may never be able to use this phone unless you get the details from the previous owner of the phone.
