Tray selection with HP P2015 printer

We have recently bought a new P2015 with installed the optional 2nd tray.
while this printer works very good with normal Windows functions, it seems impossible to make this printer working correctly with ABAP programs.
I tried SAP device types POST2, HPLJ4000 but paper is taken always from 3rd tray ignoring the 2nd.
I did my tests using our program which work efficiently with old HP4050, and using SAP text SAPSCRIPT-TRAYTEST (in SO10).
Is there someone who experienced the same problem ?

I have same issue like this..same page I would like to print with Tray1, Tray1. when I give check printing, It should print with both the Tray, it has different kind of papers.can you suggest me?

  • Tray selection with LOCL in sapscript

    I want to print the document from Tray 2 always and so I set the resource name in the sapscript to TRY02. When I put the printer name in, it works fine and prints from tray 2. But when I put LOCL as the output device, it always prints from the default tray. Does anyone have a solution to this?

    I think this is because of your local printer configuration
    Please find the documentation related to this-> this documentation i found in start> printer and faxes>select your default printer> right click> properties> help> index --> find tab > type tray> Selecting paper by type or source
    If your application supports printing by paper type or source, make the selections from your application. Application settings override printer driver settings.
    You can configure the printer to select paper by Type (such as Plain or Letterhead) or Source (such as Tray 1 or Tray 2). If you frequently use several different kinds of paper, once trays are set up correctly from the printer control panel, you do not have to check which paper is loaded in each tray before you print.
    Your paper trays must be configured from the printer control panel before you can print by type. To configure your paper trays, see the printer user guide.

  • Tray selection of printer doesn't work with printing order confirmation

    Hello,
    When we try to print output for the order confirmation document (BA00 and custom ZBA0) on a different paper tray (e.g. tray 2 for printer avbekyo-01_tray2 in SAP R/3) then the ouput is printed to tray 1 in stead. We have defined two different printers in SAP for the tray selection. We tested the ouput on different printers, besides the avbekyo-01 and went wrong on the others also. When we print out an invoice (ZRD0) to the printer on the second tray, the invoice is printed correctly from the second tray. With an ABAP developer we debugged the print process, but no code leads to the fact that the output for the order confirmation should be printed to the first tray, while the second tray was selected in the output record. In the code still the second tray is processed, but printed on the first. The only difference we can find is that the order confirmation is SAPScript and the invoice is a Smartform. Does anyone know a solution?.
    Kind regards

    Unfortunately the setting doesn't resolve the problem. We also have activated the settings of Tray2 in the option Tray Info.

  • PRINTER TRAY CONTROL/SELECTION WITH SAPSCRIPT USING ZTROYMIC DEVICE TYPE

    We are printing checks using SAPscript in which we specify TRY02 for the overflow/invoice detail pages of  a check and TRY03 for the check itself, this is in order to use check stock only for actual checks and plain paper for the invoice detail pages.  As indicated above the device type to which we are printing is ZTROYMIC.  The device type was downloaded from note 94233, and is printing the MICR characters successfully however there was no Control Character Sequence provided for TRY03 in SPAD print controls.  The tray selection is not working correctly, I was given the following escape sequence, escape character & l 5 H, for TRY03 by TROY but not sure how to implement this in SPAD.  Should we pose this question directly to SAP?  Is tray selection supported for this device type?  If not how can we direct pages to correct tray otherwise?
    Your help is much appreciated,
    Doug

    1) In SPAD under the device types tab, enter your device type and hit display.
    2) click on Print Controls and scroll down you will see TRY01, TRY02, TRY03 and TRYMN.
    3) click on the edit icon and change the control character sequence that was provide for you. we

  • HP LaserJet P2015 Tray selection and Macs

    Hi
    We have a HP LaserJet P2015x. I've had trouble with it from Day 1 as it doesn't have a US Letter / A4 override option and we use A4 paper, but the odd user prints US docs without knowing it. I made some Print Presets for the users which applies the A4 scaling at the Mac end which works when the users remember to select the Preset.
    In the last few weeks the printer stopped acknowlodging Tray / Media selections made in the Printer settings tabs (Mac 10.5.7 and Mac 10.5.8) I am not sure what was updated, reset, changed but after many hours re-installing drivers, changing driver, using other drivers, resetting the print system, cold reseting the printer etc... I still couldn't get it to print to our Letterhead Tray. Tray 2, set as A4, Letterhead. Regardless of the Paper Feed or Finishing > Media Type settings I made in the Driver it just kept printing from Tray 3, A4 Plain. (or would prompt for "Please load, Tray 2, A4 Plain if both Tray 2 and 3 were set as A4)
    Somehow during all of this I noticed the *"Fit to Page"* option in the Driver tab for the Printer. I had it set to "Nearest Size and Scale" I changed it to *"Prompt User"* and magically it would now actually print from Tray 2, Letterhead when I made the Media Type change to "Letterhead". I have no idea why this fixed it but I made the change on 4 other Mac's and they can all now print to both trays normally again.
    Hopefully this helps someone else out!!

    So, I cranked up my old PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.11) which has the older driver for the P2015dn and the problem remains.
    I have made some progress: If I want to print with paper feed from Tray 1, I pull Tray 2 out a few inches, load the paper in Tray 1, start the print job, and the yellow Attention LED flashes indicating an error. Note that the Paper Out light does NOT come on. So I press the Go button, the Attention LED goes out, and the print job completes using the forms in Tray 1 as desired.
    So I'm thinking now, What Error condition? and why does clearing it make it print?
    Certainly seems like a hardware problem to me as this is NOT the way the printer is supposed to work as documenetd in the User Guide.

  • Does the Officejet 8600 Pro Premium N911n printer perform auto tray selection?

    I have an Officejet 8600 Pro Pemium N911n printer,  CN577A with two trays. My Operating Sysem is Win8,64bit,there are no error messages, no system changes.
    The HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in One series User Guide states that By default, the printer draws media from Tray1.If Tray1 is empty, the printer draws media from Tray2(if it is installed and loaded with media. I have Tray lock disabled ,Tay1 the default Tray and Automatic Tray Selection enabled.Prior to making these selections,I contacted HP support via email to report that this option was not working. I received a response that there is no method that will automatically select a tray when one tray is empty. The User 's manual states otherwise..This option might not work but it is part of this series of printers. I have both trays loaded and I will determine if it works after Tray1 is empty. Does anyone have one of these printers and the auto Tray function works? Thanks.

  • Automatic tray selection for printing

    When the print out is issued from the SMARTFORM, it should automatically determine the tray for the paper (based on a pre-defined logic):
    The trays can be:
    Tray 1
    Tray 2
    Manual Feed
    Is this possible in SAP? (version 4.6c)
    Is there a dependency on the printer/model
    Thanks,
    Lakshmi.

    Hi,
    Do you want to define the tray statically?.
    Then you can mention the tray at the page level.
    Select the page and select 'output options' tab.
    There you can mention the tray name with the resource field.
    if you want to select the tray dynamically then ,refer the OSS note <b>367128</b> and apply the OSS note which is applicable for release 4.6 C.
    <b>Implement the program correction. Afterwards, you can also enter a field (for example, ) in field 'Resource'. This field must be defined in a global manner (the type must be RSPORESNAM). You must set the value of this field before you call up the page. That is, you must either supply the value on the first page via the interface or you must set it during the initialization. If you call a page via an explicit page break, you must have set the value before the page break.</b>
    <b></b>
    I hope this should resolve your issue.
    Thank you.

  • Only printing from tray 1 with Matlab

    Hello,
    I have recently purchased a HP officejet pro x451, and have set all its default preferences to printing from tray 2 (which holds A4 paper). However, the printer only seems to print from tray 1 and will not continue until I have filled tray1 with paper.
    I must specify that I am trying to print via Matlab (printing from Word is fine).
    I hope someone can help!
    Thanks very much.

    Hi BerthB,
    When you print from Matlab, have you checked what is the tray source setting in the print dialog? It is a dialog when you click "print" button. Some application softwares might set it to "Tray 1" by default. This will override the setting on your printer, where you set "Tray 2".
    You can set tray source setting to "Tray 2" or "auto select" in your case.

  • 7515 keeps trying to print from photo tray when main tray selected (Mac)?

    Just started uing a iMac with the 7515.  It's driving me nuts that it keeps trying to print from the photo tray when I have main tray clearly selected in the print dialog box.
    I'm trying to insert the picture of the print dialog box, but doesn't seem to be working.  In presets (the second selection box from the top) I've got "Print from Main Tray" selected pretty plainly.
    Turning the printer on and off does not help.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hey Chriscic,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    Always the best recommend steps to start off with when troubleshooting with a Mac, is to reset the printing system. Then verify, and repair the disk permissions.
    So to start with the reset of the printing system, I have included the document 'Macintosh: Resetting the Printing System in Mac OS X'. Please select your version of Mac, and follow through the steps. If you have Mavericks, you can follow the steps for OS X v10.8. Also, please do not re-add the printer just yet.
    After the reset of the printing system, you will need to complete the verify, and repair of the disk permissions. I have included the document 'Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions'. For step three when it asks you to select a disk, please select your hard drive. Once the repair has completed, please restart the Mac.
    After the Mac has restarted, you can now add the printer back into the print queue. The try to print. Are you still experiencing the same issue? Or are you able to print from the main tray?
    If you do require further assistance, please let me know the version of Mac OS X you are running. If you need it, I have included the document 'Finding your OS X version and build information'.
    Looking forward to your reply.

  • How do I select which tray I would like to print from on my company printer?

    I am using a Mac and attempting to print a file from illustrator to the bypass tray of our company printer.  I am personally trying to print labels and I don't want to risk putting the labels in the main tray and have someone else print their document before I can push print on mine. I have done the due diligence of searching the internet for this issue but with no helpful results found just yet. Any advice?

    Larry G. Schneider wrote:
    And Preview still doesn't render the PDF correctly. Install the free Reader app.
    No, Preview renders and prints just fine for me.  And Preview doesn't have any problem printing to the Manual Feed tray.
    I do own Acrobat via CC and can install the full version for no additional cost.  However, in my opinion, Acrobat is so horribly bloated that I won't install it even though it's free (and again, I'm generally an Adobe fan).
    I do appreciate your suggestions, but the real issue here is that Illustrator should really have a functioning tray selection option.  I'm guessing that Adobe would argue that it's a printer-driver issue, but again, literally every other graphics application on OSX can print to the Manual Feed tray seamlessly, except for Adobe products.  Even Photoshop lets you actually select Manual Feed instead of Tray 1, however, the printer will still print from Tray 1 instead of the MF tray regardless of what I set.  Again, no other application exhibits this odd/errant behavior, so it's got to be something messed up with the way Adobe is doing it.
    Thanks for the feedback though, I appreciate it.

  • Printer tray selection VS2010

    We have the following questions regarding windows printer default tray determining tray to print from:
    <br><br>
    1. When we set m_reportClass.PrintOptions.PaperSource = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSource.FormSource, it defaults back to Auto (we can see that when we debug, it simply ignores the command) - why is that, and which option should we use to get the printer to use PrinterDefaultTray?
    <br><br>
    2. Default Printer impacts rpt. file even though "No Printer" is checked in the Page Setup dialog - so the default printer set on the developer PC opening the Page Setup of a .rpt file (not making a change, just opening) will change the file. Why is that and what change is made?
    <br><br>
    3. We have made a default 'dummy' printer on the developer pc which is used when opening the .rpt file. If a similar printer with the same name does not exist on the PC printing the report, we cannot control the tray that is prints from.
    <br><br>
    Is there a viewer that can show what has been changed inside an .rpt file to better understand what is happening to the file when it is opened in VS2010?
    <br><br>
    We are experiencing an issue with Crystal Reports VS2010 when trying to print reports to a specific tray. We have recently upgraded from .net 1.1 to .net 4.0 and in relation to this we also upgraded the CR version.
    <br><br>
    In the previous version we were able to setup windows printers with a specific default tray and when printing to this windows printer, the default tray of this windows printer was used. We have a range of printers being used in a client windows forms application, so we need to be able to continue letting the windows printer definition determine which tray to use. Preferable we would like to set PaperSource to UsePrinterDefaultTray, but that option does not seem to exist (or we have not found it yet). We have found another solution, but would like to understand why it works so we know that it is a viable solution.
    <br><br>
    The application is based on creating a report using the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportClass. The example below has been shortened for readability:
    <br><br>
    CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportClass m_reportClass = new new EKRB007A();<br>
    // create/get data for report<br>
    // u2026<br>
    m_reportClass.PrintOptions.PaperSize = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize.PaperA4;<br>
    m_reportClass.FormatEngine.PrintOptions.PaperSize = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize.PaperA4;<br>
    <br><br>
    m_reportClass.SetDataSource(this.dataSet);<br><br>
    <br><br>
    CrystalDecisions.Shared.PageMargins pm = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.PageMargins(<br>
                                    this.getA4InvoicePrinterOriginalHorizontalAlignment(), <br>
                                    this.getA4InvoicePrinterOriginalVerticalAlignment(),   <br>
                                    m_reportClass.PrintOptions.PageMargins.rightMargin,    <br>
                                    this.getA4InvoicePrinterOriginalVerticalAlignment()     );<br>
    <br>
    m_reportClass.PrintOptions.ApplyPageMargins( pm );<br>
    <br>
    // The name of the windows printer to use is read from parameters.<br>
    m_reportClass.PrintOptions.PrinterName = this.getA4InvoicePrinterCopy(); // here it will return 'InvoicePrinter'<br>
    <br>
    m_reportClass.PrintToPrinter(<br>
            1,<br>
            true,<br>
            1,<br>
            m_reportClass.FormatEngine.GetLastPageNumber( new CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportPageRequestContext()));<br><br>
    The printer has the 'No Printer' set in the Page Setup dialog as we have different printers with different number of trays, so we need to be able to specify the printer at runtime (according to the VS2010 CR documentation, there should be two dialogs - Print Setup and Page Setup, but in VS2010, we can only find the Page Setup, and it includes some of the options from the old Print Setup dialog).
    <br><br>
    Developer A, has two printers: printer 'Generic Text' set to default and printer 'InvoicePrinter' (the one to print from as read from the paramter in the above code). The 'Generic Text' is a generic text printer with no trays and the 'InvoicePrinter' is an OKI printer with two trays.<br><br>
    Developer B, has printer 'InvoicePrinter' set as default.<br><br>
    Developer C, has two printers: printer 'SalesList' set to default and printer 'InvoicePrinter'<br><br>
    Developer A sets up printer 'InvoicePrinter' to print in tray 1 (and 'Generic Text' is default printer). Then opens the .rpt file and compiles. If a print is made on the developer PC, it prints to the correct tray. We can change 'InvoicePrinter' to tray 2 and again it prints correctly. However, if the same .dll is deployed on Developer B's PC, and a print is made, it always uses the same tray even though the windows printer is changed (it actually uses the 'InvoicePrinter', but it ignores the tray it is configured to use). The same is the case for Developer C's PC.
    <br><br>
    We have tried to set m_reportClass.PrintOptions.PaperSource = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSource.FormSource and m_reportClass.PrintOptions.PaperSource = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSource.Auto, but it has no impact.
    <br><br>
    If Developer B adds a printer called 'Generic Text' (even though it is not to be used) AND sets this printer to be the default printer, then it works exactly as on Developer A's PC - meaning that the windows printer tray definition of 'InvoicePrinter' is used correctly.
    <br><br>
    Our solution rigth now is to install a 'dummy' printer on all developer PCs and on all client PCs. This printer must be set as default printer on developer PCs so when the Page Setup of any .rpt file is opened (yes, just opening it changes the file), the new file generated will be based on the 'Generic Text' printer. We will then change the default printer on client PCs just before printing to the 'Generic Text' printer and set it back to their 'normal' default afterwards.
    <br><br>
    In my dev team we all agree that this is not the optimal solutions, so any suggestions will be well received.

    I have a printer (this one http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06b/18972-18972-3328064-12004-3328083-2512333-2512337-3435... ) shared in Active Directory by several users (running Windows XP machines). The thing is that no matter how many times I try to set the source paper tray to a specific one, it seems it doesnt apply/store the changes, and it comes back to Auto tray selection  (and it always selects tray #1, which is the one im trying to avoid), causing an issue which needs to be solved by hand.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    1. Go into your SETUP MENU on your printer.

  • Smart form dynamic tray selection on printing

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement in smart form that need to output the a particular invoice to a particular tray a printer. For e.g. tray 2.
    I have added TRY02 to the resource name of the pages in the smartform, but still the invoice is being printed to the default tray of the printer.
    I have done a test to that printer by printing the SAPCRIPT-TRAYTEST from SO10, and the output is being printed correctly i.e. to the different trays. So I guess the printer has been configured correctly.
