  • Selecting Tray1 or tray2 for printing

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A with the additional tray connected underneath the main printer. I would like to keep 1 tray loaded with A4 paper and the other with photo paper so I can remotely print on either A4 or photo paper (from my iPhone or Macbook: MacOSX 10.5.8) without having to change the paper in the tray every time I change from printing a photo to printing a document. Can anyone help?
    Cheers..

    Hello jumbaro,
To the best of my knowledge, Officejet printers that have two trays will not automaticly switch between the two trays, the user has to switch between the trays manually.  The only lines of printers that I know of that will do this are the Lazerjet and Photosmart lines.

  • Tray Minimize and Maximize!

    Hello,
On my WDA View i have got two trays(TRAY1 and TRAY2) under ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER. On TRAY1 i have a button, which when clicked should minimize TRAY1 and maximize TRAY2. How to do this?
I did some examples by accessing CONTEXT elements and modifying them but for UI Elements i didn't see many examples. I know the Property of TRAY for which the value needs to be changed is EXPANDED, but don't know how to change it in the action method.
    Thanks.

Thanks Bhaskar for the helpful reply, though your second step was confusing to me. What i have done now is created two context attributes and assigned each one to its corresponding tray EXPANDED property.
Then in the WDDOINIT method i code and set the minimize and maximize of each tray using the two created context attributes by setting abap_true and abap_false booleans. And then on my button action click method, i code and minimize my search tray and also expand the results tray. Is this what you wanted to suggest me from your steps?
If not then i would still be curious to know if there is any other way also to do it. Thanks.
    Regards,

  • Printing REPORT1 to Tray1, REPORT2 to Tray2

I am trying to automate two different reports so that
one Reports Paper Source is TRAY1 and the Other Reports
Paper Source is TRAY2. I have tryed using printer definition
files with escape sequences, but they only seem to work when
DESTYPE=file. I need DESTYPE=PRINTER to work for this.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated,
    Ken

    how about the built-in srw.set_printer_tray
from the 6i online help :
Description This procedure specifies the name of a valid
printer tray and can be used to switch to different printer
    trays as your report formats.
    Syntax
    SRW.SET_PRINTER_TRAY('tray');
    Parameters
tray     Is the name of a valid printer tray and can be used to
switch to different printer trays as your report formats.
    Usage Notes
n     If you use SRW.SET_PRINTER_TRAY in the Format Trigger of
an object, the printer tray will be changed on the page where
the object is printed. The printer tray you specify remains in
effect until you change it in a subsequent trigger.

  • HP Laserjet P4014 tray 1 printing problems

We have three HP Laserjet P4014 printers.  All of them are having intermittent issues with printing from Tray1 especially if the printer has been left for a time. Sometimes if paper is in tray 1 it will not take the paper from this tray only tray2.  I have checked the paper size and type which is Any Size/Any Type for Tray1 and A4/Plain for tray2.  I have read that in this model of printer, the fuser can be faulty.

Hi LHOTSE Hope you a having a great day,
I am reaching out to probe if you still experience this issue. If you are, bear in mind your HP LAserJet P4014 is a commercial product. I will suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support  as well for a better chance at finding a solution.
You may find the commercial Laserjet board here.

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I understand that you have two types of paper loaded in your Officejet 8630 and are wondering how to switch between the two trays. I can help you with that, however I'm going to need to know what operating system is on your computer first. If you are not sure what your operating system is you can click here to find it. If you can reply with your system then I'll know which directions to provide you.

  • Duplex Printing SapScript: Invoice - Printer tries but fails backside?

    Hi experts!
    I have the following problem:
I want to print invoices with duplex mode (using both sides of the paper to save money). I read the forum here and found out several things.
    1. Printer Admin (SPAD) -> Set the printer to Duplex mode
Q: Is this general setting needed at all? I just want to print the backsides for invoices
    2. SapScript Form Development (SE71) -> Set Duplex Mode for Page First and Next
Q: Do I have to set both to duplex? I have the standard setup so First -> Next -> Next ...
    The Problem:
I tried to print out a 4 page long invoice and I observed the Printer doing it. The Printer tries to duplex by holding the page back at the half and pulling it in again. But then it prints "Nothing" on the backside; also it does this for all 4 pages. Result is: I have 4 pages instead of 2 but the printer needs double the time compared with default printing.
    Printer ok?
Facing this I tried the text with transaction SO10: SAPSCRIPT-PRINTMODETEST to ensure, the printer can duplex at all.. and it worked perfect. So I can duplex within the text by using the command NEW-PAGE DUPLEX... but that does not help me with my invoice problem at all!. I could use the command in SapScript but the mechanism determing when a page is full would not work anymore. I would not know when a page is full and I dont want to mess with that arround at all.
    So where is my mistake?
Do I have to adjust the print-report?
Is it needed to set First as well as Next to duplex?
Do I have to set in SPAD to duplex in addition?
    Thanks a ton!
    Manfred

    Hi Aidan,
The tray problem seems to be like the following:
Page First shall be printed from tray 1 because we have special paper for that with the company logo in color on it. All other pages shall be printed on regular white paper from tray 2 (its cheaper of course).
I checked it out: it is cheaper to print all pages of the invoice on the expensive paper with duplex then using simplex with the two different types of paper... but thats just for the interest
As the page FIRST shall be from tray1 and NEXT should have been from tray2 the printer did not try to print the first NEXT (so the second page) page on the backside of the FIRST page because the paper came from the wrong tray.
The trick with PAGE2 that comes as well from tray1 enabled the printer to print the second page on the backside of page FIRST.
My current problem is the following (and most likely not SAP-solvable):
Its best to explain like the following. Take a normal DINA4 empty sheet of paper and mark it with a cross on the upper right corner. Thats where our log is.
It is in Tray 1 of our printer are the sides with the logo facing down and towards you. If we print in simplex, then the invoice is printed properly on the side with the logo.
If we print Duplex then we would have to insert the paper with the logo facing upwards and away from you to have the first page printed on the side with the logo correctly.
the Problem with that is that I would have to change any form to duplex otherwise all other printmessages are printed wrong. And if someone prints on the "good" paper in simplex mode (for example from MSOffice) then they will print on the wrong side of the doc.
    Summary:
I can print Duplex now with the hints you gave me but I have strategic problems. Another problem is that some customers dont want duplex invoices as they scan the invoices automatically and would miss out every second page.
    Thanks Mr. Black

  • Dynpro Layout Issue?

    Hi, All:
I created 2 trays,  within Tray 1, I created table 1 and wihin Tray 2, I create TextEdit field. I set colspan = 1 for tray 1 and set colspan = 2 for tray 2.
but the result looks like Tray 1 colspan =2, Tray 2 colspan = 1 as the following.
I want to tray 1 narrow and tray 2 wide. how to setup properties for tray 1/tray2/table1/TextEdit.
    -t-r-a-y-1-------
    tray2
    -table-1----
    -Textedit
    Thanks in advance
    Victor

    Hi Victor,
Make the rootuielement container's layout as Grid Layout with colcount = 2, for having the two trays.
For tray1, make the width as 40% or something like that. For Tray 2, make the width as 60%. So you have Tray1 as narrow and Tray2 as the wider tray. Inside the trays, the elements can have 100% width. If you set the rootuielement container's width as 100%, it will span across the whole screen.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Nithya

  • Pulling multiple paper stocks in metacode - Not working

    Hi,
I referenced multiple trays in my formset and its is getting reflected correctly in metacode as I gave the options below under < PrtType:XER > ini option.
    Tray1     = MAIN
    Tray2     = AUX
    Tray3     = TRAY03
    Tray4     = TRAY04
Although my print operators came back reporting an issue since the metacode is erroring out and proper trays are not getting pulled. Here is what they said:
""They are not calling a stockset. The JDE's they are referencing in the Dfault JSL do not reference a stockset but the job is calling out TRA02, 03, 04. You will need to reference a stockset within the job containing the TRA02, TRA03, TRA04 values."
Is there something else which need to be changed in inis or in JDE/JDL for stocks to get pulled correctly?
    Thanks!!

Yes, the JSL needs to specify a stockset and the TRAY INI settings (Tray1, Tray2, Tray3, etc.) need to match the stockset names. It's probably easiest for your print operators to modify the JSL to include the stockset names and then tell you what stockset names to use. Then you would set the TRAY INI settings to the names of the stocksets specified by the print operators.

  • Page wise tray selection

    Hi Experts,
Anybody having any idea how to do setting so that when I am printing letter through ssap script the first page should come from tray1 and second page and onwards from tray2.
    Regards.
    Kusum.

    Hi,
In page elements of script, at the bottom, you have a parameter called "Resource Name".  There you define for PAGE 1, as TRY01 and other pages as TRY02.

  • Print from shell to HP wireless printer

I've been having trouble printing to my HP wireless (P1102W) printer from either of my 2 Macs. As a developer I spend a lot of time in the shell (bash) and have been quite happy with the command-line tools available. One of things I would like to do is print from the shell - either interactively or from a shell script.
The only ways I know how to do this involve using 'lp' or 'lpr' and I'm sure they work the way they are supposed to. Except apparently if you try to print to an HP printer like mine. It DOES print fine from any other applications.
When I send a print job to the printer from my Macbook Air shell or the iMac shell, a window pops up on my iMac telling me to load paper in the manual feed tray and press 'Enter'. When I press 'Enter'  it prints the job. I'm trying to avoid this if possible.
    Example:
    grep '006.' music.trxt | lp
Email to HP Support came back with this:
"We are sorry to let you know that HP Printers are designed to print from Graphical User Interface applications. For example, the applications from which you can select File-> Print to open a print window for further options. So you are able to print from the other applications. Regarding printing from the shell, we do not have the required expertise since this directly deals with the MAC operating system. Hence, I would request you to contact the Apple support team for more information."
    Hence my posting here.
Does anyone have any similar problems?
    Have you found a work-around?
Is there a way to insert a form-feed or carriage-return on the command line as part of the print command? I've tried using the Ctrl-V - insert_a_command trick but no joy.
I love my iMac but this is driving me crazy. Thanks for any suggestions / help.

    Good news and bad news:
With this as one option for my printer
    ColorModel/Color Model: *RGB RGBW
    This command
    lpoptions -d HP_Deskjet_F4200_series -o ColorModel=RGBW
does change the lpotion output to
    ColorModel/Color Model: RGB *RGBW
Notice the asterisk switched from RGB to RGBW
The bad news is if the option as reported by lpoption only has one setting it can;t be changed (at least I wasn;t able to). So in my case the  paperfeed is
    HPPaperSource/Source: *Tray1
and no matter what I tried I could not switch it to anything else.
So even if this is the source of your printers behavior there may not be anything you can do about it, at least from this point.
It is odd that the printer would only have a manual feed option as reported by CUPS. The printer does work normally from the GUI, correct? And there are no switches/settings on the printer for this?
Something else to try, as a test, is to connect the printer directly to the system and see if anything changes. I know with my printer hooked up through the Airport I cannot get to the ink levels and such or run any maintenance commands. I have to directly connect it to do that.
    Sorry I don;t have more,
    regards
