Treatement of leased computers

Hi
One of my customers has brought computers
on lease. The customer has Asset Accounting
activiated in the system. I want to know
1. Creation of asset master records for leased
assets in SAP.
2.How will the accounting flow occur for such assets in
Indian Context
3. What will be the basic config for the same in SAP
4. What will be the process for acquisition and retirement of such assets
5. The booking of depreciation for such assets in Indian context
Regards
Sanil Bhandari

Hi
If we are talking about the finance lease  then in the depreciation area we have to maintain another depreciation keys named as LEAS.
Once the depreciation keys is maintained we can create the assets . In the lease tab you have to maintain the necessary information with rgds the lease amount the period of the lease interest rate and the starting date of the lease  once if you put all the informtion and save  then display the assets you can get the calculate lese amount . once you click the botton it automatically calculate the proposed value of the installment and get posted.
the interest portion of the lease gets calculated when you periodically run the depreciation .

The high level requirement is at Corporate Level( U.S GAAP Depreciation area 01)client want to treat Leased asset as Normal asset and Depreciate it. This is required as per the law over there.
At Local GAAP ( Depreciation area 11) client want to treate these leased asset as an expense ( normal expense like purchases) monthly fee paid to the vendors.
These expense should be posted to Accounts payable against the purchase order through the Project system i.e WBS element.
How to show as an expense in depreciation area 11 local?
The client is in R/3 ECC 4.6 C environment.

I purchased Elements 13.  When I tried to install it I get the error message that it is not supported by Vista.  What do I do now?

If you can't install Windows 7 or higher or get a new computer with Windows 7 or higher, you won't be able to run Photoshop Elements 13.
There are many inexpensive refurbished or "off lease" computers available at very reasonable cost.  Here is one example (scroll down):

  • Can you have multiple users working off the same Mac pro at the same time with multiple monitors but doing different things?

I'm buying desktops for a start up company and was wondering if I could purchase a single Mac Pro and run multiple monitors to allow multiple users to work on the computer at the same time. These users would be doing different tasks but I would hope to accomplish that on a single desktop. I know that screen sharing is possible but with only one user controlling both of the screens. Thanks in advance, sorry for my apple ignorance!

A lot of companies are buying or leasing laptops to be used at the office by day, and carried home at night.
Some companies are doing "Bring your own device". Bring a device to receive email -- computer/smartphone/tablet you already have, or have an allowance to buy one for your use.
If Capital is short (and when is it not) leasing computers, to be turned in a few years, can be a huge savings because the cost is expensed as incurred. The alternative is laying out cash today, but not being able to expense the cost this year. Instead, the computer expense must be recovered over their useful life (often five years) through depreciation.

  • Using older G5 as a future server

To preface, we have 2 Intel Machines in our office and one PPC G5 (the one listed in my Model info). Going forward we plan on upgrading to Snow Leopard and thus replacing our PPC with a newer Intel PowerMac.
My question is how easy or plausible will it be to repurpose our G5 as a server and will there be any connectivity issues between it and the newer machines running Snow Leopard? Can anyone point me to any online resources for making such a transition?
EDIT: I wanted to further clarify. We are a small (very small) production studio. We have 3 people with the possibility of a 4th who would access the server and we'd want to use it both as storage and as a render station for either shared (multiple computer) rendering or just rendering on the G5.

If you mean this thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9936850&#9936850) then I've looked it over, but my question is the same as the last one he posed. I guess I just don't understand enough how a render farm would work with shared processing through Qmaster or in Compressor or even command line rendering, but my understanding is that it would treat the two computers as one.
I suppose I could just link it as well via a KVM switch like you suggest and just render from that machine by itself but I'd like to understand how the shared processing works and why it would be worthless/useless in this case.

  • I bought a fully specked, 2012 retina mac book pro today. Will it still be powerful in 4 years? In other words, will it still be able to handle high powered engineering programs in 4 years?

In other words, will it still be able to handle high powered engineering programs in 4 years? It's i7, quad core, 2.7GHZ boost up to 3.7GHZ,16 GB RAM, and 768 flash SSD.
Will it be considered a lower powered or mid powered machine in 4 years relative to the new laptops around it?
I feel like fully specking it helps me be a little future proof.
Is 6 years too ambitious to hope for that this machine will still be able to handle powerful programs?
I spent $3000 so in 4 years I hope it will still be relativley fast.

Nobody can predict what programs might need in the future.  And, nobody can predict where computers will head 3-4 years from now.  Power (meaning energy consumption) is becoming as important as speed (if not more so).  Purchase what you need now with a bit of headroom and expect that you might need to replace in 3 years (that's the reason large companies lease computers instead of purchasing them).
It also depends on what you mean by "high powered engineering programs".  It could mean that  you don't have enough memory for newer applications and will constantly be swapping to disk.  This could either prevent you from using the SW or will significantly slow things down.
It could also mean that the computations become more complex and need a faster cpu (this is a lower risk and simply means that your computer won't be quite as fast as your buddy's).
It could mean that the OS you have today is obsolete and no longer supported for these applications.
Don't worry about 4 years down the road.  Nobody (and I mean nobody) can predict even 1 year out.  Look at how many times companies delay product introductions, or provide "guidance" to analysts.

  • Mercedes-Benz Financial Payments w/ Credit Card

So sorry if this has been asked before. I've just done an exhaustive search and the topics only seem to either cover down payments, talk about the American Express MB cards or they're so out-dated, I'm not certain the information is still accurate. I have a car lease through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services for about ~$650/month. I've been paying direct from my bank account monthly, but heard from a friend a few weeks ago that they were able to pay with their credit card for a $15 fee. They put it on an AMEX and apparently got the points and it was treated a purchase. Though I love my AMEX, I personally fly American Airlines and Oneworld and so want to earn AA miles for this transaction. This leaves me with Barclay Aviator and Citi AAdvantage as my options. I called MBFS, Barclay's and Citi - all state it will be treated as a cash advance with the associated fees and no rewards. My curiosity, though, is why they would all say it'll be handled as a cash advance, but American Express in this example handled it as a purchase that just comes through with the description "MB FIN SERV". I'm wondering if it's one of those "It should be this way", but their system is perhaps not seeing it as such? Does anyone here have any experience specifically with MBFS and paying with credit cards for this purpose? Did it work out for you? EDIT: MBFS did say the payment would be processed through Western Union.

  • Is my holiday let router safer than a hotspot?

on holiday with internet access.  Is this safer than using a hotspot?

If you go into the Network and Sharing Centre as I outlined earlier you should see something like this picture. You need to check what is showing in the part I have circled. If it is showing as a Home Network, I would change it to a Public Network by clicking on it.
This sounds more insecure but it is actually telling your computer that you are connected to a public network and because of this it won't allow folders etc to be shared on that network and treats it as an untrusted network. If you have it as a Home network folder etc can be shared and it will treat any other computers on that network as trusted which unless you know who owns them is not a good idea.
You have also done the correct thing by not sharing anything on your computer. If you do share folders normally remember to change it back when you get home.

  • Powerbook and desktop same address

This is probably silly but bear with me please ... I have a desktop G4 and a powerbook ... I can now make my camera work on my pbook .. I have an aol address. What if I go away and take the Pbook and want to connect to my home desktop to speak to and let my son see me ... he is on the desktop I am on the powerbook ... do I have to create a second account for the base computer in order that the remote (PB) can communicate ie ... are they treated as 2 computers ... I'm sure the answer is yes but comments please ... do I set up a second address ... many thanks for your time ... Roger

    Hi Roger,
Whichever way you go you will need to do Defcom's bit.
Either a @mac name (the trial will work afterthe sixty days is up ) or an AIM one.
    Your choices then are:
    1) Set up the screen name in iChat and use the same Mac User Account.
    WARNING, Will Robinson !!
This will allow your son complete access to all the stuff in your home folder and control of your settings.
    2) Create a new Mac User Account and set him up for iChat there.
Note He is supposed to be thirteen to use the AIM service.
You could of course invoke Parental Controls for iChat on his Mac User Account and restrict the Buddies names in the Configure section.

  • Can the leased, student version of CC be installed on two computers, like the retail version?

    Good morning!
I am considering the $20/month student lease of the Creative Cloud, but I was wondering if I would still be able to install it on two computers? Let me preface this by saying I have a laptop and a desktop - the laptop is taken to class with me while the desktop is where all my work is mainly done. I saw on the FAQs that you are able to install the Creative Cloud on two computers, but it didn't specify if the student version was permitted the same rights.
Does anyone know for certain if I would be allowed to install the leased, student version of Creative Cloud on both my PCs?
    Thanks!

Cpaulson117 you can install and activate the software on up to two computers.  You can find more details at Activation & deactivation help - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html.

  • I have just upgraded my 2 apple computers to OX Lion and my macbook pro is having ip address issues. I have manually changed the ip address, renewed lease which works but everytime I switch on it does not connect to wi fi until I edit the ip address.

I recently upgraded to OX Lion and have an ipod, ipad, iphone and other apple mac computer on the network besides my macbook pro.
Since the upgrade I am having issues with my ip address. I have edited this number under renew lease, taken it to a manual edit and on any of these occassions found an address which allows the computer to go on wi fi.
However everytime I use my computer it starts off without wi fi and I have to manually go back to ip address and either adjust to manual or renew lease.
    Any ideas?

While we all have MacBooks in this forum most of us don’t have Lion. There's a Lion Support Community where everybody has Lion. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.  https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.7_lion

  • HT204053 Can I back up two computers to iCloud with the same Apple ID and not lose any data?

Hi.  I have a macbook air which is all set to back up on iCloud.
My iMac has much more data and I wish to set it up as well.
Will iCloud know these are two different computers or will it overwrite one with the other's data?
I guess the main question is, do I need two Apple IDs and should I treat them as two separate accounts.
    Many thanks.

    Hi...
If you delete the backups it will not delete any content from their device, however the data will be removed from iCloud.
It will also prevent the devices from backing up to iCloud in future, unless this is re-enabled.

  • Weird issue when trying to use two computers on the same network.

Hi all...i just just moved house and i'm using a different connection with my time capsule.
basically i've just plugged the modem into the ethernet port on the timecapsule as usual, and now for some reason me and my partner cannot use the computers to access the net at the same time
my access will halt as soon as he starts, and the only way to gain access again is to renew the DHCP lease, which subsequently boots him off....
anyone know how to fix this?

it's a wireless modem. not like a usb stick with a 3g connection. it's called unwired here in australia....its crap, but im using it for the next few days until my cable connection is installed at the new house.
it's pretty much the same as a regular modem and has an ethernet port on it which you can either use to connect directly into your system, or plug into a router or wifi (or in my case, time capsule which i'm using as the wireless base station)
i've just done the usual thing of plugging the ethernet cable from the modem into my time capsule, and it seems to work fine as long as it's only one user on the network. but as soon as someone else jumps in, their system gets access and mine stops. the only way to get mine working again is to renew the DHCP lease in networking preferences, but that ends up booting the other person off.
i havent changed any settings at all and we never had this issue at the old house...so i'm not sure if its some configuration with the time capsule, or if it's something weird about the dodgy modem i'm using...

  • Sharing Files Amongst Two Computers With DIFFERENT Versions Of Windows (XP & Vista)

I just bought a WRT54G4 Wireless-G broadbad router & am a n00bie to this whole networking thng.  As things stand now, I have got everything whereas both my desktop PC (Windows XP Home Edition) & my wireless laptop PC (Windows Vista Home Premium) are online (Both local & Internet) HOWEVER I cannot seem to get things whereas my desktop PC shares files which can then be viewed & otherwise accessed by the laptop.
Here's what I'm trying to do....
    * Have BOTH computers access the Internet via private network (This I have already managed to do)
    * Have the desktop share files which can be accessed (Wirelessly or not) by my laptop
Essentially, I want to be able to make use of BOTH HDs as needed.
My desktop is an old AMD Duron 1 Ghz. computer with 512MB of RAM & can handle SOME small tasks however the big gun is my laptop (A 1.86 Ghz. Intel Pentium with 3 GB of RAM). Because of it's speed & memory, I'd like to have the laptop handle the larger & more intensive tasks.
Although my laptop has a smaller HD compared my desktop (A 136 GB HD in the desktop (Out of 200 GB) compared to a 141 GB (I'm guessing this HD is around that size but since it came pre-installed & I'm currently leasing-to-own, I don't know), I'd like to be able to make use of BOTH HDs if at all possible.  All I need is for the two computers to see the two HDs & all the files on it.
I have tried the setting up of file sharing as instructed elsewhere on the Linksys site, but lost it when I restarted both of my computers since that's what the page told me to do (I followed the Windows XP as the desktop has all the files I want to be shared & Windows XP is the OS of the desktop).  Should I have not done this?
Also, my ultimate goal is to GET RID of the big bulky monitor which I have plugged into the back end of my desktop PC & just simply use the laptop instead since it doesn't take up so much room on the desk.  Is there a software-based "Virtual Monitor" or monitor emulator of some kind which I can download (FREE please ) that will allow me to see the desktops of all the computers on my network just as if I
had REAL monitors?  If so, where might I find one?
In short, whle I have accomplished a great deal in these last few days since I bought the router & linked the two computers together, as you can see, I still need some help & I've got some learning to do.
Any help I can get wouldbe MOST appreciated.
    Cheers

File & Printer Sharing IS enabled on the desktop (Which has all the files I wish to share) HOWEVER.....
    Ricewind wrote:
Make sure File and Printer Sharing is Enabled...
Also make sure both the computer's are in the same workgroup...
The default workgroup name in Windows Vista has been changed to WORKGROUP. In WindowsXP, the default workgroup name is MSHOME...
Also go into the computer software firewall on each computer, and set it to "trust" the other computers on your network.
If your firewall or PC security program keeps a list of trusted applications (also known as a "trusted zone"), then make sure that your router is in the trusted zone on your firewall...
As indicated before, both computers have DIFFERENT operating systems.  The laptop has Windows Vista HP installed while the desktop has Windows XP HE installed.  As such, are you suggesting that I stick with the default workgroup names just to keep things simple?
As for the firewall & other security software, I have Windows Defender plus SpyBot (Desktop only), ThreatFire & AdAware (The latter I rarely use since ThreatFire fills this need rather nicely).  Would I have to go into Defender on both computers & tell it to trust the other computer?  Network Magic already does this with both computers (Yes, I have Network Magic installed on both computers).

  • My laptop is not a phone. Don't treat it like one.

My laptop is not a mobile phone the last time I checked.  Unless mobile phones started weighing 15 pounds and play Crysis 2 Maxed, Star Citizen Maxed, and any other game you can think of, maxed, with 18" screens.
So, don't treat it like a mobile phone with your crappy chat bubbles that liturally everyone who isn't on a mobile phone hates, even some people on phones hate it.
Why is it so hard for Microsoft to add options to the app?  Seriously?  Liturally every other chat program in the world has the ability to be skinned to the user's liking.  What does MS do?  They force you to use their choice only.  Then people came up with MSN Plus when MSN used to exist and they kept trying to take that out cause like, god forbid users have some choices when using a messenger.  God forbid we actually like the look of our messenger!
I've posted this elsewhere, but this used to be my messenger before you canceled skypekit.exe for no reason whatsoever other than to force people to use mobile ugly skype.
Now here is what I'm stuck with,
Isn't it wonderful?  Look at all that space I totally saved in my tiny small sentences of messages.  By having 4 inches of white on either side of my messages.  Cause that's how real messengers look now days.
However I did notice you can expand the thing a bit, but the chat bubbles are still confusing and useless.  you have tons of angry people posting that they want them gone and your responce, is to ignore them?  I thought Microsoft was all about listening to the customer.  Is that not really true?  No one wants bland Windows 8 paint.exe type graphics.  That's why I'm still on Windows 7, cause liturally there is zero advantage to downgrading to Windows 8 or 10.  All you get is a loss in graphics and the world's ugliest apps.  :/  Skype being an examle of this, being forced on people who still have a real operating system like me.
The world isn't full of tiny pitiful tablets that have a processor as powerful as a SNES.  Stop treating us like all our computers suck and couldn't process a simple gradient or rounded corner or Windows Aero.  If people don't want Aero, they will disable it.  Don't automatically disable it for them and give them something you drew up in paint.exe.  Seriously.  Skype is the ugliest thing on my laptop now.  :/
Thank you, this has been another angry rant by me, Vas.

You are not alone in wanting options! There's a very long thread on the 7.0 UI currently running at 850 messages, of which about 2 have been positive. You may want to take a look there too.
