Trend Analysis

Hi experts,
I have 2 inspection parameters during raw material receipt- pH and viscocity and one parameter for finished good inspection- purity. How can I get a period-wise statistical trend of parameters during good receipt (vendor-wise upper/lower limit/target value vs. mean vs. standard deviation) and final inspection (customer/ Finished good batch wise upper/lower/target value vs. mean vs. standard deviation). Please suggest....

Hi Sunit,
You can use LIS for this requirement and it's quite easy also.
In SAP Menu path go to Logistics - Logistics Controlling - QM information system - Standard Analysis - you can select wether you want to see it for material, Vendor Customer etc.
If you want further details you can use flexible analysis also.
If you use either method, when you go to the analysis (ex: for Results tcode :MCXB) then inside the analysis you can see a time series button ( or click on Ctrl + Shift + F4)
after selecting a relevant column.

MIC / VENDOR Trend analysis in Graphical mode

Dear Freinds,
please explain me how top perform trend analysis in graphical mode for a material procured from a vendor over a period of time.
Report should display the charecterstics recorded for Material / Vendor combination.
I am not using SPC charecteristics.

Dear Jeevan
There are two ways in which you can do the graphical analysis for material vendor combination
1) You can do it in MCVD. Here you can get all the relevant mics in the desired combination
2) But a better graphical analysis can be done in QS28. But here you will have to specify the MIC.
Go to QS28. Input the plant and the mic and execute. You will get MIC details. Choose the MIC and click on Result history. A pop will appear Result history Limit Selection. Here you can mention the vendor . Execute you will get the entire list of lots with all values and charts. You can run chart, histogram, cp , CPk values. Run chart for mean, runchart for single values etc
You can do this through the inspection lot also. Go to QA33 > result> Select the Mic> go to Result history >enter the vendor. Execute you will get the entire list of lots with all values and charts

Below are the values from the registry key we are passing to the weblogic service.
We do not use any of the "Start(WLS)(Weblogic).cmd" scripts to start the Weblogic service, only the WSM (Windows Service Manager).

Regular snapshots of project information for trend analysis

Hi folks,
I am working with a client who wants to take regular (monthly) snapshots of Project Server data, specifically project status, estimated, actuals, resource allocations etc. I note that 2007 and 2010 doesn't have anything OOTB besides BL functionality, does
Project Server 2013 offer anything new in this area?
Example: we want to match SAP actuals with Project Server current/estimates and record monthly snapshots of this information so we can do trend analysis. Is it possible in Project Server 2013 OOTB to take monthly snapshots beyond BL 10+1 ?

Hi Gavin,
As Guillaume and Sachin have correctly stated, there is no monthly snapshotting functionality OOTB. The easiest solution is to do this via SQL. I blogged about a simple example a few years back, see below:

BPMon alert reporting not showing any data for Trend Analysis

Hi,
I have setup BPMon and performed the initial setup for BW reporting. There are alerts being generated by the BPMon setup and the data has been transferred to the 0SM_BPM cube.
But when I start the Trend Analysis report I dont get any Solution for selection to generate the trend analysis chart.
I have followed all the steps mentioned in the setup guide. Please suggest any remedy.

Hi ,
If your query is on multiprovider , then makesure to check there are no restrictions/filters on cubes.
Also inlcude any keyfigure from the cube,where other characteristics are being assigned from or where u r seeing data, in the query.
If you dont want to see the Keyfigure, u can hide it using keyfigure display properties in the query designer.

Service Level Reporting - Trend Analysis data missing in the report

Hi Experts,
I'm working with sap solution manager and Business Process Monitoring.
I can't get to know how to configure the system in order to get Service Level Reporting collecting data for "Trend analysis" related to business processes.
In fact, in my reports each trend analysis graph (last week/month six months) is empty, no matter which aggregation type (AVG, MAX or SUM) I use.
It seems like the BI within the Solution Manager doesn't collect the data, or doesn't provide them to SL reporting.
How can I check whether something is missing in my configuration?

BW Report requirement (Trend Analysis Report (Project Systems))

I need some help.
This requirement is for Trend Analysis Report (Project Systems)
I am loading data from ODS to Cube as a Delta Upload
ODS is getting data from R/3 data source as a full upload (no delta in the Datasource)
I added one custom field in the cube (0PS_C04) and that custom field (Date field) is going to pick current date (Sys date) through formula in the update rules.
When I am loading data from ODS to Cube, if the value is coming to the amount field, then the current date field is going to get the current date to the cube
If there is no record is updated in R/3, then delta is not going to update any record to the Cube.
If no record is updated to the cube to the particular project number, then Date field is not going to get any data from update rules.
But I need to see all dates in the cube even though there is no update in the R/3 for that project.
Example:
Proj---day1        2       3      4     5      6
-XYZ---     10        5      --      3     --     2
In the report now I am able to see some thing like this
Project   day1        2      4     6
XYZ        10        5     3     2
But I am expecting some thing like this
Project   day1        2       3      4     5      6
XYZ        10        15       15     18     18     20
Can anyone please help me in this..

Exception aggregation with last value and reference characteristic as calday should solve the problem.

Trend Analysis in Line Chart

Hi Experts,
I would like to display a trend line of a key figure in the line chart just like you can do it in WAD for example based on an existing data series.
As I could not find any option in the properties of the line chart, I was wondering whether there is any workaround which you might know in order to implement such a trend analysis chart?!

Hi,
if possible try to add trend Line value in another keyfigure ( Trend_Line ) in BEx Query .
And then Display it in Line Chart .
Or
if your Trend Line value is fix then add Text set top border & arrange it behind line chart .

Trend Analysis creating problems

Hi All,
I have a time hierarchy in place and I have made Day, Month and Year as Chronological Keys but when I am trying to use the trend analysis in KPI definition I am unable to see any results. I define Day as my Trend Analysis parameter in the KPI Definition but nothing shows up in the Trend Analysis Column. Also my Time Graph shows no result when I create the same.

Suppose user is entering fiscal year period as x in a variable. Then what I told is
1.Rt. Click on the Fiscal Year/Period Characteristic and select restrict
2. Select the Value Ranges option and select between.
3. Put the user entering variable x in the two text boxes
4. click on the dragging to rt arrow
5. rt click on the dragged variable range and select set offset for variable
6. then for the first popup put to -3 or 4 as required and then 0 for the next and press ok..
This will give result as (customer entered fiscl period - 4) to Customer entered fiscal period). And if you are giving fiscal year restriction in addition, it wont consider previous year.

Trend Analysis with SQL

Hi,
I have created a table with customer nos and the monthly summaries of their basket values, no of items purchased and no of visits for a period of two years.
So I have now a summary table that looks like:
Cust_no,purch_month1,..,purch_month24, items_month1,..,items_month24, Visits_month1,..,visits_month24
Total_purch, total_items, total_visits.
From this table I want to analyse the purchase and visits trends and then categorise them to, for example, loyal customers, loyalty-loosing customers etc.
This means I need a function that analyses values from a single row and then group the behaviour to get the counts.
Do you know of any function that can do this sort of activity?

Not sure what you mean by RFM analysis ?
How would you define those terms - "Bell Shaped" - "Positive/Negative Slope" - what if it has 2 bell shapes in the curve - does that count or not ? or 3 or 4 bells ? what if it has a positive and a negative slope or 2 positives and 1 negative ?
If you can define specific rules for your terms then you can implement them in code, e.g. if there are more than 2 consecutive points where the values go up then there exists a "Postive Slope" to the curve.

i have a single week column and single rank column in my db , i am trying to analyze a rank pattern over 2 weeks , for that i make two copies of same week as week1 and week2 and similarly two copies of rank as rank1 and rank2 , and i created dashboard prompt filters for week1 and week2 with different formula but having same mathematically same meaning, but when i am getting some error when iam selecting different values for week1 and week2

We have already tried these two options and found both solution did not work in our case.
1. AGO : A time series aggregation function that calculates the aggregated value from the current time back to a specified time period.
In our case we need the comparison of this year with last year.
2.Use Filter year >= @{pv}-1 and year <= @{pv}
We do try this option. But the problem is to make the filter to '@{pv}-1'. Filter always fetching the value of presentation varaible 'pv'.
If we put 'pv-1' in the filter section it is converting as '@{pv-1}' not as '@{pv}-1'

Trend analysis graph in WAD

Dear Friends,
We are using BI7.00. For one of the user report which is to be created in WAD, the requirement is that to get the equipment downtime based on equipment category.
In my bex query, apart from the key figure downtime, i have other key figures like total available hours, total number of working days etc., but the report graph is for one key figure i.e., down time.
How to achieve this functionality in WAD. That is the table should have all the keyfigures but the graph should be only for one key figure automatically when the report is executed.
Is this possible. Can experts provide solution?

You can enter the objectives using Integrated planning. You "just" have to create a real-time cube to store the objectives, an aggregation level and build an input query on top of it.
The user will then be able to enter the objectives in the input query and your graph will reflect its entry.

Trend Calculation in Web Analysis

I am creating a sales and margin trend analysis in web analysis and am having problems making the trend calc dynamic. I select period and use a sub variable to select (CMCY) and then show subset to show the previous 2 months to give a 3 months trend view. I can use the trend calc to develop a revenue trend based on the revenue measure but I have to use advanced and select the actual months ex Revenue:Oct, Revenue:Nov, Rev:Dec. The calc works correctly this way, but next month it will not. How can you grab current month, then CM-1, CM-2 into the trend calc directly so you don't have to reformat the report each month? Business Process Management - End-to-End Analysis and Performance KPI's

Hello,
I am from WB and were looking to expand our footprint with Business Process Monitoring.
For critical business processes (order to cash, release to accounting, procure to pay; create shopping cart, etc.) how can be map and determine for the business units the expected run times as well as capturing / reporting historical trend analysis; looking at from a company business process level and not an SAP transaction level.
We were disappointed that we were unable to find this detailed functionality in SolMan (dashboards, metrics, customizable reports, etc.) that could tell us how long a WB business process takes to execute form start to finish.
Does anyone have any info as to if NetWeaver BPM can capture and trend the complete A-Z run times of a Business Process?
Iu2019m I missing something here?! I would think something this basic would automatically be a part of SolMan BPM Monitoringu2026
