The regression line in the diagram is displayed correct but the formular (by the way also for non linear regressions) fail.

You have done something wrong.
What I suspect you have done is put your X data into a header column. You should also see that the X axis on your chart is plotting the X values 1 through 5, not your actual X data

I'd try Dropbox (http://www.dropbox.com/), which you and your recipient both have to have. It's easy, and the free version would probably be enough. There are any number of other services available for emailing large files (google that). Of course, your recipient must have KN installed to be able to view it correctly, or can view it in PP, but with some loss, primarily transitions/animations.

Accessing trend line formula in Crystal Report

I am using Crystal Reports 8.5 and CR2008. I have a report showing a trend line (specifically the quadratic regression). I can show the formula that is being used for the report in the chart. How can I access the regression formula in Crystal Reports?

hi James,
in short you can't...the charting engine is a separate 3rd party dll so what you see there is not necessarily available in the rest of cr in summaries etc.
in order to do things like this, you either have to do the calcs on your database or using formulas. i've attached an example of linear regression that i did a while ago. change the .txt extension to .rpt after you extract the contents. sorry, there are no instructions on how to do this.
on the attached sample though it does figure out the regression formula and also extrapolate data, show residuals etc. there are a couple of other "fits" in a parameter but i never finished those as it made my head hurt

I send emial with links and anchors and when someone else forwards that, the links are converted to http addresses that go to gmail!

I send out an email with many "internal" links, that is, links that go to anchors within the email. someone else picks up the email and forwards it to others. Now, instead of looking like this:

the link looks like this:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#14c1630a55126b2f_GHNNCEP
and of course does not work as intended.

I have created a .m4v file from iPhoto and would like to share it with someone else knowing that the file is quiet large (86 Mo), i used to share file with mobileme, how Can I do that with iCloud ? or another way....

In iphoto, I have create a diaporama which I exported to itunes as a m4v file. I would like to share this file with someone but it is too big to send it via email (84 Mo). This file is now in my films in itunes. Is there a way to share it via icloud.
I used to share files using mobileme which I cannot use anymore.

How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

So you downloaded some music under your Apple ID? and your trying to move them to your PC? if so what I would sugest dont try to sync it thru iTunes under someone elses computer/Library just use your iPhone like an external Harddrive go to My Computer>Iphone> you see your camera folder just make a Temp folder for your downloaded music and transfer them to you iphone and copy to your computer when you get back home copy take it from your phone to your itunes folder. Thats what I would do.

If you are asking can you have an Apple ID and an iCloud account then the answer is, yes. With iCloud it will sync all your devices and computers. this is the correction to the article. REPLACE .itl and .xml files . itunes will not open without them. .itl especially
long story of broken Macbook Pros. new one and the external drive had the only copy of iTunes. i had music on various drives so i started a new itunes library and imported all the music i could find, including from the 'only copy'. problem: a hundred playlists in painstaking order not there.
followed the instructions from this article. except. when itunes opens, it has to have the .itl and .xml file present.
i still had a spare copy of "only copy" so i replaced the NEW iTunes composite library's .itl and .xml files with the ones from 'only copy'. opened it up and there were all my playlists. now i may have to re-import music from various and tweak the playlists. but i don't have to RE-DO THEM.

woke up today with the exact same problem... iMac locked up while playing a video podcast off my NAS
(it was happily playing the audio even though the mouse was frozen)
couldnt get permission control of my Library.itl so found your post,
turned off the iTunes Server in my Synology (dont use it like that anyway) and rebooted the NAS.
iTunes immediatley launched WITHOUT the lock, performed its repair check and up it came!

...oddly I notice that I dont have permissions to ANY of my directorys/files,
guess 'cause they are set in the Synology Shared Folder permissions?

Not sure what make/model NAS you have, but if it has an iTunes Server type service on it, turn it off. This won't delete your music folder, don't worry, but it will stop your NAS thinking it deserves exclusive access to the library files. Then reboot your NAS and voila, you can do what you like with the files.
You can turn the iTunes service back on whenever you've finished doing what you need to do.

Has anyone else discovered that their MacBookPro has been set up for 'no available users' and so cannot use any new applications?

I've had my MacBook Pro for several months. Sadly I've not been able to use it for my work (I'm a writer) as I couldn't open my software, Final Draft. I installed it several times, uninstalling it each time to avoid glitches, but every time I tried to open it I had an error message, that the permissions had to be reset. I went onto disk utilities and did everything I could to reset/repair. I spent days and weeks on the phone both to Apple and to Final Draft, but no one could help.
Apple were adamant that it was a software error and so today I bought yet another version of Final Draft (£140), this time from the net, and downloaded that. Same old same old. Once again, over and over, I followed the 'trouble shooting permissions' advice on the Apple website, still no luck. Finally, finally, tonight, a technician was able to take me through an obscure routine which ended up with the message that my laptop had been set up with 'No Available Users'.
In effect it's a useless piece of metal and has been from day one.

I'm not sure that I followed everything, but you got a replacement phone and continue to experience problems? It sounds like a logical move would be to have AT&T replace your SIM card. I would doubt that the size/fit is an issue, these things are a standard size, but replacing the SIM will have an impact on the network set-up that might be the root cause.

Someone else confirm build problems with this package [handbrakegtk]

I've tried unsuccessfully to build the handbrakegtk package in the AUR which is the only one in the AUR that gives the stable build of the GUI for this software (the official repo contains the CLI version). Can someone else confirm that it doesn't build on their system as a sanity check for me? I'm running Arch 2009.2/x86_64 and the system is up-to-date.
I posted the last few lines and resulting error as a comment on the handbrakegtk's page referenced above.

Update: I think the problem is a missing dep. I looked at some deps from the other handbrake packages here and ended-up installing the following ones which led to a successful package build:
subversion yasm iso-codes intltool gstreamer0.10-base gtkhtml cairo phonon ftjam
Since the package in question depends on: gtkhtml ftjam yasm and intltool, it must be one or more of the following that are required to successfully build:
subversion iso-codes gstreamer0.10-base cairo phonon
Anyway, just wanted to pass the info along in case someone else runs into this.

I am trying to replicate bar charts that were created in EXCEL that took advantage of the Trend Line feature. I can create the bar chart just fine, but I am not able to create the trend line. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance for your help.

You could sort-of simulate a trend line by adding a second series of bars that plots the trend data.
For example, the first series could plot your data, and the second series could plot the running average.
Analytic functions are handy for this.

Accepting meeting invite accepts as someone else

When I accept a meeting invite on my Incredible, it sends the acceptance as if I were someone else. That person is always another person invited to the meeting. The only way that I knew is that someone asked me how I was accepting as the President of my company. I then opened Outlook on my computer and can see that it lists another invitees name as the From in my meeting acceptance. How in the world does this happen and how do I fix it? I am using the standard mail app.

That could get frustrating. I'm assuming if you are using the stock mail app on the phone, this is your Corporate Email setup because it is syncing with Outlook on the computer. Something could have been corrupted with your phone syncing with the Corporate Email account, but it should be able to be fixed as this is not a known issue. I would recommend removing the email setup altogether and setting up from scratch.
Follow these steps:
1) Go to settings> applications> manage applications> change filter to all at the top> find your email application (be listed as
   mail)> select all the buttons that are lit up (Force Stop, Clear Data, and Clear Cache).
2) Go to settings> accounts & sync> and make sure that your corporate account is removed from this list. If it's still listed, touch
   and hold on the account name and choose remove account.
3) Go to settings> accounts & sync> add account> Exchange ActiveSync. Note: You may need to get your IT department involved
   if you are unsure of all of the settings.

Carriers will generally only authorize unlocking for the last person to use the phone on their network. If not you, your only choices are to either establish service yourself, then request the phone be unlocked, or get whoever used it last on the network to request the unlock.

What if someone else needed to unlock my iPhone 5s?

I am looking at the fingerprint intelligent display. Can someone else override that, and will I be notified on other devices if someone does?

Any iPhone that has Touch ID set up can ALSO be unlocked with the passcode. So if the user knows your password, they can unlock the iPhone.
I would suggest using a more complicated passcode (say, 6 numbers) if you set up Touch ID, because rarely will you have to enter it yourself.
