Trend Micro Dual WAN Issue

Question from a partner:
Has Trend fixed the hosted issue with two WAN connections? It used to be that even though your device had dual WANs, Trend would only forward the emails to one of the connections. If it went down, you had to submit an email request to move it to the other connection and it could be 12-24 hours before it went into effect and 99 times out of 100, the original WAN port would be back online. It does slightly defeat the purpose of having Dual WANs if you cannot receive email in this day and age.

I got with Trend on this because I thought it was something very interesting....
here is what they said...
I think you’re talking about the same setup as a customer having 2 mail servers, right? If so we have had a solution for this for a while.
They want us to send email to 1.1.1.1, but if that is down, send it to 2.2.2.2.
They would use the MX record method.
A customer would need to create a hostname that points to two MX records.
Give the primary site IN MX 10 and the backup IN MX 20.
Then we change the IMHS configuration to use the hostname they created.

Our postfix servers will only allow us to configure 1 IP address or 1 hostname in our transport file to deliver email back to the customer. If the customer has 2 or more mail servers they want us to use, they will need to create a new hostname DNS entry and point it to their multiple servers.
If they want our servers to try to deliver the email to their mail servers in a specific order, say mailserver1 and if that server is not available then try to deliver the email to the mailserver2, then they would need to setup the following DNS entries as an example:
mailserver1.customerdomain.com.    IN A 1.2.3.4
mailserver2.customerdomain.com.    IN A 2.3.4.5
imhs.customerdomain.com.   IN MX 10 mailserver1.customerdomain.com.
imhs.customerdomain.com.   IN MX 20 mailserver2.customerdomain.com.
Then we setup our server to deliver to imhs.customerdomain.com.
customerdomain.com     smtp:imhs.customerdomain.com:25
If a specific order is not important then they can just make imhs.customerdomain.com point to multiple IP addresses:
imhs.customerdomain.com.   IN A 1.2.3.4
imhs.customerdomain.com.   IN A 1.2.3.5
This will make our server send an email to 1.2.3.4 and the next email to 1.2.3.5, then to 1.2.3.4, etc.
Then we setup our server to deliver to imhs.customerdomain.com.
customerdomain.com     smtp:[imhs.customerdomain.com]:25
Our servers will only deliver the email to the first server that will accept the email. They will not deliver the same email to both mail servers.

Did you do a restart after uninstalling trend? The AV probably cut all traffic. Did you setup the exclusions on the AV that is required for exchange to work correctly?

How do i uninstall this latest version? I have trend micro anti virus and it said you are incompatible at this time. you did not give me a choice of opting out so I am opting out of using firefox since my protection is now gone.

Several days ago firefox wanted to upgrade and I refused because trend micro was not supported. Today it automatically made the change. I have trend micro and your message said it would not work. I would think that an antivirus program would be one of the most important features to be able to work. Either fix it or tell me how to roll back to the other version. If you cannot I am dumping firefox and going back to internet explorer. So for now I am closing this window and using IE untill I hear from you

I've had almost every issue you've had. Finally on Friday the screen blacked out. It was obviously still charged, since I could hear the message ring, but when I tried to light up the display it didn't light so I was unable to get to it unless I removed the battery. Then, as soon as the display timed out, I couldn't get it lit up again without removing battery. I had the same slow movements throughout the display as well as slow text messaging. Every issue you had other than the alarm clock (that always worked well).
I took it in yesterday and, after over an hour spent there with a 'professional', I still had no answers. He told me to come home and copy everything from my sd card to my computer, then re-format my card. Well, my phone didn't even recognize that I had an sd card installed!! Nor did my computer!
So then I got to experimenting...I removed the card and viola!!!!!! The phone worked GREAT! It's never worked so fast! I then installed my husbands sd card to see if it was my phone's card reader or my card. Turns out that the phone still worked great with his card installed and it did recognize his card in my phone. So, my conclusion is that I need a new card. I couldn't believe the difference in speed of everything! It's like a brand new phone!
As for the hard reset...I did that over the weekend, before I could get to a verizon store. It didn't work at all.
I'd say, do the same thing I did and see if that works. Can't hurt!!! Please keep me posted. I'd like to see what you find out

Trend Micro Login error on System reports

I'm getting a login failed screeen from Trend Micro when the system report tries to load What password is the system looking for ?

You go into task then Setup & review computer reports, uncheck and clear out the e-mail address, then hit ok
then you exit network magic and go through and open windows task manager end services on NM services end task on nmctxth
then restart Network Magic and redo the first part I discribed only now enable by clicking on the box and entering an e-mail address
don't forget to confirm by checking your e-mail for the confirmation letter
then in 24hrs it'll be back up.
If that all don't work it's a current server issue and will be resolved by Monday

SCCM Endpoint Protection Removal of Trend Micro OfficeScan v10 assistance

Hi,
I just thought i might ask this,
i see that Endpoint Protection has the ability to uninstall "Trend Micro OfficeScan"
We have "Trend Micro OfficeScan 10", we have protected ours with a password,
i would just like to know when i deploy the Endpoint Agent if it still has the ability to uninstall it altough it has a password connected to it
or would i need to manually uninstall it,
On big issue i have is that the password is one of 25 passwords also.
any assistance will do on this.

It should be able to uninstall TrendMicro. The best thing is to test it against a collection with a few devices. You can control the SCEP installation by creating a custom client setting and deploy that to a test collection - it doesn't have to be a big

Mac OSX Maverics (Ver 10.9.4) Reboots after installing and removing Trend Micro Smart Surfing

Hi,
I have recently installed Trend Micro Smart surfing with serial number starting with TCEF. I am currently running my mac book pro on OSX Maverics Version 10.9.4. As soon as I installed the software, I got the error message that the software is not compatible with this version of OS. I went to applications and selected Trend Micro Smart surfing and moved it to trash and also emptied the trash. After this my laptop is rebooting frequently. I even went to safe mode and then into
system preferences ---> users and groups---> Login items and found nothing related to Trend Micro smart surfing. I have also tried to reinstall max osx and still having reboot issue. I have a lot of data and I am afraid I will loose this. Can anyone please help me out.

Uninstall the Trend Micro product by following the instructions on whichever of the pages linked below is applicable:
Removing Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security
Uninstalling Trend Micro Smart Surfing
Restart. If the program was incompletely removed, reinstall it and start over. Back up all data before making any changes.

Why does firefox v 29 not enable the Trend Micro extension

Since the upgrade to v29 I am also getting plagued with advertising pop ups that I cannot disable.

Do the following:
* Update to Firefox 30 [[Update Firefox to the latest version]]
* Scan for malware, [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]
* Reset Firefox, [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]
* Install Adblock plus, www.adblockplus.org/
The trend micro extensions are a waste of resources, so don't even bother with them ;)

VPN and a Dual Wan router confusion

I am running a Border Manager 3.9 server with a Dual Wan router supplying the 2 ISPs load balancing to a single NIC on the Border Manager Server. I want to try setting up a VPN.
Whats the easiest most pain free way of doing this?

Hah! Well, inbound traffic in general can be problematical on a
dual-wan system.
Here you have two issues, if the router is like ones I've worked on.
First, load balancing. You can't (probably - this is based on my
experience) set up a static NAT of one of the public IP addresses to
the BM 'public' address and still load balance. My experience is that
as soon as you do that, it forces both inbound and outbound traffic
onto that particular WAN link, so it kills load balancing/failover.
Which means you need to do port forwarding on the router for all the
VPN ports. You will need TCP and UPD 353, and UPD 500 and 4500 inbound
(and replies outbound). If using a site-site VPN, you also need TCP
213 inbound.
You will have to configure the VPN address in BMgr to use one of the
WAN public IP's. The VPN will only work on that one WAN link.

Cisco RV042 - Dual Wan Load Balancing - Secure Site (HTTPS) Trouble

Ever since I setup my RV042 with load balancing using the Dual Wan system I have had trouble staying connected to some secure sites. After doing some searching I found that the potential issue is the IP change mid session.

Although my interface is significantly different I was able to find the same area in my RV042 admin area however, it doesn't seem to work.

In Wan 1 & Wan 2 I have HTTPS and HTTPS Secondary all forwarded to use Wan 2 under Protocol Binding
This however has not managed to do anything at all for my network and every computer conneceted experiences the same HTTPS irregularities at some websites.
I'm sure I must be doing something wrong, but I don't know what it is.
Both incoming connections are from the same service provider although the plans are different.
Any help with this would greatly help me stop losing my mind trying to fight with my website control panel for 10 minutes to just login and get something done.

Safari and trend micro web site filter not working

IE blocks web sites as defined by my web site filter in trend micro (pcillin) however, sites such as **** are not blocked when using safari. It is as if Safari is bypassing my firewall. Should I be concerned and how do I fix this.

Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus + Renewal

When I first got my computer early this year Best Buy installed the Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus + on the computer. A window is now popping up on my screen saying I have 17 days left to renew my subscription. When I click on "renew now" it starts to load the subscription login screen, but never loads. I have no way of going ahead and renewing it. Any suggestions on why I might not be able to get that page to load? It just stays as a white screen and loads for only a few seconds before coming to a stop.

I would make sure that your browser is at the most up to date version. If that does not work, as NoNoBadDog stated, try a different web browser. For example: Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE7.
Other things worth trying may be:
-Make sure your computer has the most up to date flash player drivers.
-If using Windows XP make sure you have Service Pack 3 installed.
-Make sure you have a PDF file viewer.
If none of this works, I would go to the Trend Micro forums or have Geek Squad take a look at it. If you purchased Geek Squad Tech Support with your computer and your service is still active Geek Squad will fix your issue for free.

Trend Micro Blocking worldsecuresystems

I have a computer that came with Trend Micro Software (anti-virus) installed. Today I manually typed in an address as http://site.worldsecuresystems.com but I forgot the "s" in https. To my surprise I was told this site was blocked due to malicious content and was dangerous. I was curious at this point and tried other BC sites using the worldsecuresystems domain without the "s". Every BC site I have tried without the s it blocks. If I put the s in it works.
I filed a request with Trend Micro asking them to reclassify my domain. I wanted to let BC and others know that this is an issue.

Rule one of Virus protection software - be overly strict and forceful.
That is how they work and most are way to bloated and I hate them. I buy a modem router with filtering and controls built into them so you never have to install anything on your computer, and of course I use mac

Trend micro smart keeps requesting changes...why?

I have Trend Micro Smart Surfing on my Macbook Pro, and its been active since I bought it with the laptop in Fall 2011. Recently, it started asking me to type in my password to allow changes. It will occur randomly without a set time or specific website. For example...
I was just wondering is this normal/common? It may be a coincidence becasue I recenlty renewed my subscription, but I know I have been having troubles with Finder, so I don't know if these are related or if there is a different reason. The bounce back said the issue was “Your email messages have been blocked by the recipient OR by Trend Micro Email Reputation Service”
Is anyone have this the same issue?

You need to check with the support to get more details and maybe they can provide you more details about the sent e-mails.
It might be that the mails were not sent by one of messaging systems but it can be a virus or a malware program that was sending e--mails from your IP to spam others. I would recommend filtering SMTP traffic to allow only authorized servers and systems to
send mails and to run virus and malware programs identification and removal on your managed systems.
