Trend Micro Officescan crashes MAX Settings

Hello,
we use Trend Micro Officescan on our testmachines. With office scans last update the Measurement and Automation Explorer forgets all alias name of LXI and USB devices, when the computer is rebooted. With import the settings image in MAX everthing runs smoothly again. I know that MAX save its settings in something like a database. Are there any known problems withe MAX database and virus scanners?

For the Project Settings, choose Edit>Project Settings, and you can see them all, with the General Tab (most important), Capture (should not affect your Project), Video Rendering (again, should not have much info for you now), and Default Timeline (defines how the Timeline is set up initially, and not of any real use here).
Now, and with the Source Files and Project on your E:\, or your external HDD, how much free-space is on your C:\. That can be very important, especially as with only 2GB RAM, you WILL be using your Windows Page File (Virtual Memory) often, and heavily.
Now, though this is covered in one of the links in the PrE Crashing & Hanging article (Memory & Resources), how is your Page File managed, and is it located on your C:\?
Also, is your Project file (the PREL) located with the Source Files, on either E:\, or your external HDD? I know that you have tried several locations. Also, where are your Scratch Disks (Edit>Preferences) set to? Those can be very large, and if one has them pointed to a nearly full HDD, can crash things.
Last, at least for now, is your F:\ your external HDD? If so, it is formatted FAT-32, and that limits file sizes to ~ 4GB. This ARTICLE will tell you how to Convert a FAT-32 HDD to NTSF.

SCCM Endpoint Protection Removal of Trend Micro OfficeScan v10 assistance

Hi,
I just thought i might ask this,
i see that Endpoint Protection has the ability to uninstall "Trend Micro OfficeScan"
We have "Trend Micro OfficeScan 10", we have protected ours with a password,
i would just like to know when i deploy the Endpoint Agent if it still has the ability to uninstall it altough it has a password connected to it
or would i need to manually uninstall it,
On big issue i have is that the password is one of 25 passwords also.
any assistance will do on this.

It should be able to uninstall TrendMicro. The best thing is to test it against a collection with a few devices. You can control the SCEP installation by creating a custom client setting and deploy that to a test collection - it doesn't have to be a big

Trend Micro OfficeScan 10 - External log server

Hi All,
Has anyone ever configured TrendMicro OfficeScan to send logs to an external log server? i cannot find the settings nor any documentation anywhere!

Cisco ACS / Trend Micro Office / Cisco Trust Agent

We currently utilize Cisco ACS Server and Trend Micro OfficeScan and would like to deploy Cisco Trust Agent 2.0 on a few laptops. Has anyone been involved with such a deployment? If so, any suggestions, documentation, suggestions?

CTR uses the admin shares to connect to a windows server.
Depending on how you configured it: It will try a nmap fingerprint scan, use static OS mappings or perform a level 2 scan by using the admin shares.
If you are using it through firewalls, the fingerprinting does not work properly.
You will also notice that since version 2.0.3 there hasn't been any new agents developed for it. Also 2.0.5 started to upgrade all port scans etc whereas before it didn't.
I would look to speaking to your cisco account team about the next version of Cisco IPS instead.

Firefox 4RC will not permit Trend Micro Toolbar

Firefox 4RC will not permit the operation of the Trend Micro Toolbar add-in, this feature worked OK in Version 3.6

This happens with every major Firefox upgrade. I went through this when upgrading from 2 to 3. For some reason it breaks certain third party plugins. It breaks my password manager, too. It takes months for an update from the vendors. I cannot believe that Firefox can't warn companies before making drastic changes. The big problem is that these are major security protection measures which are disabled by the browser. It is tiresome to have to tweak settings and disable critical extensions with each new upgrade.

Does Trend Micro Web Protection add-on work with Firefox 5??

negotiating the screen changes just to ask a simple question took me through 9 screen changes already!!! why the "screen testing"? I am not trying to get a part in a movie. Simply, when I checked "help", "forum",and now prompted to ask this as a "new" question although I saw in forums 450 or so users complained that their FF4 was not compatible as the last version of 3 was. Without taking 6 hours of searching 25 more screen changes: simply does anyone know if this will crash/hang/send error pages or damage our PC's to have FF5 and this TM security add-on together? thank you for your consideration of my question, and I apologize if my fonts show up on your side and are bothersome. Mac OSX Maverics (Ver 10.9.4) Reboots after installing and removing Trend Micro Smart Surfing

Hi,
I have recently installed Trend Micro Smart surfing with serial number starting with TCEF. I am currently running my mac book pro on OSX Maverics Version 10.9.4. As soon as I installed the software, I got the error message that the software is not compatible with this version of OS. I went to applications and selected Trend Micro Smart surfing and moved it to trash and also emptied the trash. After this my laptop is rebooting frequently. I even went to safe mode and then into
system preferences ---> users and groups---> Login items and found nothing related to Trend Micro smart surfing. I have also tried to reinstall max osx and still having reboot issue. I have a lot of data and I am afraid I will loose this. Can anyone please help me out.

Uninstall the Trend Micro product by following the instructions on whichever of the pages linked below is applicable:
Removing Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security
Uninstalling Trend Micro Smart Surfing
Restart. If the program was incompletely removed, reinstall it and start over. Back up all data before making any changes.

Question about Trend Micro renewal...

My Trend Micro was just renewed this past weekend. It was all confirmed, etc. through Best Buy. When I go to my security status in Vista, it shows Firewall is on (green), Automatic Updating is on (green), but then is shows the Malware Protection in yellow, and this is what is says.
"Malware Protection" (yellow)           Check settings
Virus protection
Trend Micro Internet Security is on but is reporting its status to Windows Security Center in a format that is no longer supported. Use the program's automatic updating feature, or contact the program manufacturer for an updated version.
I update every time I start the computer, and do a quick scan. Even with the automatic scans and updates.  How do I remedy this?   Thanks for any info!

Thank you for your response. I've already done just what you said, and was referred to the Geek Squad. He walked me through the long process of uninstalling and reinstalling the Trend Micro service. He was very polite and helpful. I'm still curious about what happened, when this "automatic renewal" was done. After reinstalling Trend Micro thru Geek Squad,  it seemed to be a newer version of Trend Micro. The "automatic renewal" one was the same as before. This newest one had some different features, etc., and it was compatible with the malware security problem that I posted about.   I am wondering why this newer version wasn't installed thru the automatic renewal?

Safari and trend micro web site filter not working

IE blocks web sites as defined by my web site filter in trend micro (pcillin) however, sites such as **** are not blocked when using safari. It is as if Safari is bypassing my firewall. Should I be concerned and how do I fix this.

Trend Micro Internet Security 2009

Does anyone know how I can fix the settings on Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, so that I am able to download songs again? The song partially downloads, and then it says processing file, and never finishes. What can I do to fix this?

First, do things work correctly if you completely disable IS2009 (as a test)? If you haven't tried that yet, give that a try first just confirm that it is indeed the Trend Micro software that's causing the problem.

I have Trend Micro antivirus for Windows 7, but I am being told it is not compatible with Mozilla 9.1, how do I get an older version or adapt?

How do i uninstall this latest version? I have trend micro anti virus and it said you are incompatible at this time. you did not give me a choice of opting out so I am opting out of using firefox since my protection is now gone.

Several days ago firefox wanted to upgrade and I refused because trend micro was not supported. Today it automatically made the change. I have trend micro and your message said it would not work. I would think that an antivirus program would be one of the most important features to be able to work. Either fix it or tell me how to roll back to the other version. I've had almost every issue you've had. Finally on Friday the screen blacked out. It was obviously still charged, since I could hear the message ring, but when I tried to light up the display it didn't light so I was unable to get to it unless I removed the battery. Then, as soon as the display timed out, I couldn't get it lit up again without removing battery. I had the same slow movements throughout the display as well as slow text messaging. Every issue you had other than the alarm clock (that always worked well).
I took it in yesterday and, after over an hour spent there with a 'professional', I still had no answers. He told me to come home and copy everything from my sd card to my computer, then re-format my card. Well, my phone didn't even recognize that I had an sd card installed!! Nor did my computer!
So then I got to experimenting...I removed the card and viola!!!!!! The phone worked GREAT! It's never worked so fast! I then installed my husbands sd card to see if it was my phone's card reader or my card. Turns out that the phone still worked great with his card installed and it did recognize his card in my phone. So, my conclusion is that I need a new card. I couldn't believe the difference in speed of everything! It's like a brand new phone!
As for the hard reset...I did that over the weekend, before I could get to a verizon store. It didn't work at all.
I'd say, do the same thing I did and see if that works. Can't hurt!!! Please keep me posted. I'd like to see what you find out

When we installed Firefox 4.0, found it is not compatible with Trend Micro. How can I go back to the older version of Firefox until Trend builds a compatible version??

On add-ons manager, I see that Trend Micro NSC Firefox Extention 6.5.0.1234 is not compatible with Firefox 4.0.1. I have contacted Trend and been told that their builders have not yet created a product that is compatible. I think this means that I should revert to an older version of Firefox until my internet security is updated. How do I do this? I'm clueless. :) Or, is there a better solution?
