Treo 650 Bluetooth syncing
I just got a new treo 650 (Telus) and I have been able to sync it to my Powerbook G4. but only by cable. I want to do it with the bluetooth.
1) when pairing with the BT Setup Wizard I get: "There were no supported services found on your device"
- I think this is a problem.
2) When I click on the "bluetooth-pda-syn" in the Hotsync manager, (conection settings) I have to set some modem script settings.
Please if anyone has any clue about this... let me know...
Thanks a lot!
Rob
Typically, the required Bluetooth profiles—including SYNC—are present and enabled on a Treo 650. This document, a User Guide for Telus-provided Treo 650 smartphones, explains Bluetooth pairing beginning on page 61:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/treo/treo650telusUGEN.pdf
The only synchronization information, however, refers to USB synchronization, and—by implication—seems to indicate that Telus does not allow Bluetooth synchronization to any platform, either Windows or Mac OS X.

MacBook does not recognize Treo 650 Bluetooth DUN!
Hey gang-
We got our new MacBook today. For some reason, it does not recognize the Bluetooth Dialup Networking (DUN) capability of my Palm Treo 650. I have no problem creating the trusted pair, and the MacBook and Treo discover each other no problem. But when I finish setting up the trusted pair, the Bluetooth Setup Assistant reports "There were no supported services found on your device"
Now here's why I'm worried- In the exact same setup, my 1-year old iBook G4 recognizes and offers the choice of Bluetooth Dialup Networking from my Treo! Something is definitely different in Bluetooth support in the MacBook.
Any got a MacBook to recognize Treo 650 DUN?
Thanks!
DaveI am having the same problem with both a brand-new Macbook and intel iMac. After going through setup identically to several other Macs around, I only get "There were no supported services found on your device." Bluetooth syncing works fine, but neither of the Intel machines will find the DUN. Powerbook G4 12in and iBook G4 12in both work fine with identical setup procedures. There is definitely something buggy here.

Hi, I can iSync my Treo 650 to my Powerbook using a USB cable, but haven't been able to get this to work over Bluetooth. I have followed the instructions on the following page: http://www.palm.com/us/macintosh/wireless.html. I notice that my Bluetooth-PDA-Sync port is perpetually in use though. Any ideas?
Take a look at these instructions from Palm about interconnecting a Bluetooth wireless Palm device - in this example, a Zire 72:
Once you've paired your device, this somewhat outdated page provides instructions for configuring iSync for use with a Palm device:
Although the instructions apply to Mac OS X 10.3.9 and iSync 1.5, you can use them as a general guideline to connect your Treo under Mac OS X 10.4 and iSync 2 or later. -
Goldmine- Outlook-Treo 650 calander sync errors
I've been getting continuous errors on syncing my data from Goldmine to Outlook to Palm Treo 650.

I've searched thru the kb, and am wondering if I should download and installOutlook Conduits Update 1.02 for Palm OS Article ID: 11134
even though I'm running palm desktop by access V 6.2.2??? Please advise if this is a step to try.
Also, is there a good direct sync to treo from/to Goldmine? I used to sync directly to a handspring device, then a visor, and now the treo. At some point I used a 3rd party software to sync, but abandoned that method a while ago. Any advise as to how to sync in the cleansest way possible?
Thanks

Post relates to: Treo 650 (Sprint)For anyone looking for a one-time method of migrating from Palm Desktop to Outlook, this website offers a free conversion utility. It uses the exported DBA file to create an iCal file, which can then be imported into Outlook. It worked with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and Outlook 2010 (64-bit) as of 4/5/12.
The procedure requires uploading the exported DBA file to the conversion utility on their website, which could raise security and/or privacy issues related to information in your calendar. The whole process (upload, convert and download) can be completed in a matter of seconds. The process indicates that all files are immediately deleted from their servers, so it's a matter of trust. YMMV. -
Treo 650, Bluetooth, Internet access, and 10.4.6
I have a Treo 650 on Cingular's network and would like to use it to connect to the internet using the Treo as a modem via bluetooth. I called Cingular and obtained the following information:
User name: [email protected],
password: CINGULAR1,
connection string:7**#.
(BTW this information is public.)
I haven't spent a whole lot of time attempting to connect to the internet however I was able to pair the device with my computer and enter in the information that Cingular supplied. Of course they don't support this so I was unable to get a modem script which a few other providers seem to supply via their websites.
I was curious if anyone else has a similar set up and has been able to connect successfully with reasonable speeds and up time. If so can you please provide the information that was used for the set up?
Thanks a bunch!
Oh also I am aware of the latest update version 10.4.6 of Mac OS and was wondering if this update adds better support for the Treo 650?
G3, G4, G5, iMac G5, Xserve G5, XRaid, PowerBook, iBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini Mac OS X (10.4.6) Have used every Mac OS since version 8 to date.I do this with a Treo 650 and the MBP on T-Mobile and it works fine.
I don't know about password so I can't comment. On T-Mobile you don't really need it.
For connection string I'm sure it must be wrong. Every GSM phone in the world uses something like 99*1# (or similar with 1 substitute with something else). That is what I use.
The other issue is the modem script. I've had mixed success until I used the shareware program called GPRS script generator ( http://www.macronsoft.com/pages/en/gsg.html ). It's costs to get it generate a script, but I use the one it made for T-Mobile and it's worked flawlessly with several devices including the Treo 650. -
Thoroughly messed up my isync in trying to get a treo 650 to sync
Hello there,
well it's been quite a night...
basically right now i need to figure out how to reinstall isync properly and fully, which might require uninstalling somehow, i'm not really sure.
after many hangs with hotsync/isync combo i had a hunch that isync was corrupted somehow, it probably wasn't but i did the moron thing and trashed it, and all the isync stuff i could find then planning on reinstalling it.
so i downloaded the combo 10.4.9 PPC updater. updated, no sweat, but still isync, won't start and the icon is now missing as well.
i'm a moron for doing all that i know, but i am where i am, and i'd be grateful for any help. thanks so much.
markHey, i followed the info in a previous post and am back on top. thanks.

The company I work for recently changed the email server to an exchange server with Outlook as the front end application. Before we had an Oracle conduit to interface our Outlook applicaton with the prior email server and I was able to sync my Treo 650 with the server using a company-supplied interface and Chapura PocketMirror. Now with the exchange server, my company provides the Versa Mail application 3.5.4 but it only supports Treo 700 with 1.10 VZW software version. Can I use this software setup with my Treo 650? If not, is there a Versa Mail version that will allow my Treo 650 to sync? I only want my Treo to sync with the system, I'm not interested in receiving emails directly to my smartphone. Please help.
Post relates to: Treo 650 (Verizon)What is the Exchange Server version? Is it 2007 or 2003? You should be able to sync with server 2003 with the version on the phone.

I am trying to get my Treo 650 to sync with the Oracle Calendar Sync. The error on the handheld looks something like:
"Out of storage space during update of database CTimeSetupPrefsDB - aborting sync."
The log on the laptop (Mac G4 10.3.7) only says that the sync ended successfully.
I am using the USB cable. Has anyone gotten this to work?Did you look at the available patches?

Treo 650 won't sync PIMs after HD crash
Treo 650
Cingular
Syncing with Outlook
Media and VersaMail sync without errors. PIM syncs just don't. All syncing works with Palm Desktop.
My suspicion is that the installed conduits, e.g. Calendar & Contacts, don't correspond to the handheld databases, DatebookDB & AddressbookDB.
If I am right, how do I get those conduits back? If not, what else could solve the problem?
Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)There are no errors. It just doesn't attempt to sync the PIMs.
I had a similar problem with a Centro. The solution there was two-fold: EAS disabled cradle syncing of the PIMs by design, and DatebookDB had syncing enabled, while Calendar did not. After disabling EAS and enabling the correct conduits, the sync completed successfully.

How do i restore synching between Treo 650 and iCal & Address Book
prior to installing 10.4.7, i was able to sync my treo 650 with iCal and Address Book; iCal and Address Book syncs with .Mac and Entourage; Entourage syncs with Outlook on my office pc; and Outlook syncs with my Blackberry 8700. therefore, all i needed to do was enter an appointment or a contact in one device, and all the three other devices would be in sync.
i recently upgraded to 10.4.7 and now, i have problems synching: (1) iCal and Address Book can no longer sync with my treo 650, and (2) iCal and Address Book can't sync with Entourage either.
after installing 10.4.7, i noticed that my treo 650 cant sync with iCal and Address Book. i always get the error "isync conduit synchronization failed. ( the first time it happened, i checked isync, and i noticed that "enable palm os synching" was unchecked, so i enabled palm os synching. after that, i was able to sync my palm, but for one time only. after that, i couldnt sync anymore.)
at the same time, i noticed that iCal and Address Book wouldnt sync with Entourage anymore.
i also noticed that iCal starts-up even if i dont activate it. when iCal starts-up, the beach ball spins for around two minutes before it responds; if i click an entry to edit it, the beach ball would likewise spin for a minute or two before i can edit it. i went through all the entries and noticed that some have multiple alarm entries: i deleted these and iCal no longer slows down.
however, whenever i launch Entourage or iSync, iCal also launches. unfortunately, no synchronization takes place.
can somebody help? how do i restore synching between my treo 650 and iCal & Address Book? how do i restore synching with Entourage? thanks.Bon asis,
I have the exact same situation. Sorry this doesn't help, but wanted you to know that someone else is in the same exact boat.

Transfering information from a Treo 650 to a 800W.
I was told by Palm tech support that I would be able to transfer the OS information on my Treo 650 to Outlook and then downloaded into my 800W. After hours of trying to do this, I am turning to you for help. Is this in fact possible and if so how is it done?
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)Hello BINKS and welcome to the Palm forums.
The Palm tech support agent that you spoke with is correct; you need to use Outlook as the bridge to load PIM data from the Treo 650 on your new Treo 800w. This Palm KB article might shed some more light on what needs to be done.
If the problem is getting the Treo 650 to sync with Outlook, you might want to just spend some money and purchase a copy of Chapura Pocket Copy which is used to push your Palm Desktop data into Outlook.

Macbook pro won't sync with Treo 650 via bluetooth.
I can only do one sync with Windows XP before the comm ports fail and I have to reboot the computer to be able to do a sync with my Treo 650 via bluetooth. It works well but only once then the ports all shut down of something. Any suggestions would be apprectiated.
Your signature says you have 10.3.x but presumably this can't be correct - could you please make sure it's correct to prevent confusion. 10.7.2 is required for iCloud - your Mac won't be able to sync with pre-Lion systems.
The fact that you have iCloud accounts showing does suggest you have Lion: are they showing in System Preferences>iCloud, or where? You can only enter one there.
Are the two different or the same? You could try deleting both and then starting the setup again from scratch. -
Bluetooth Treo 650 Sync now works
I tried syncing my Palm Treo 650 with MBP 17" via Bluetooth since May with no success until the 10.4.7 update.
I configured everything last month but connection failed due to " Port is already in use". So, after this update I tried connection vis Bluetooth with all settings the same a it work fine.I edited my rush post that had several spelling errors.

Bluetooth sync with Windows 7 for Treo 650
When I hotsync the connection bar shows up on both my Treo 650 and on the PC; both report "successful sync". But the information is not flowing between the two. I've tried a test Contact and test Calendar event going from Treo to PC and then PC to Treo and neither direction works despite the "successful sync" report. What tweaking do I need to do for a fix?

I suggest you head over to the Windows hotsync section of this Forum, where you'll find your question has been asked and answered many times.
