Treo 700 Frozen

My Treo 700 (700 P, I think) is frozen. I can’t do a soft or a hard reset and I can’t turn the power off. Calls to the phone do not ring and go into phone mail. The screen displays 8 solid rectangles, 4 rows by 2 columns. The colors of the rectangles are as follows:

I removed the battery and the screen goes dark. Reinserting the battery causes the screen to flash for a fraction of a second and the rectangles reappear. I haven’t installed any new software or ringtones in more than 6 months. Since I can’t turn it off, I’m waiting for the battery to completely drain, but I expect when I plug it in to recharge the rectangles will reappear.
Is it time for the trash can????

The Treo 700wx has been out for a few years now, and if you are still using the original battery 18+ months after getting the Treo, it probably is time to get a new battery. You can get them at TreoCentral.com for about $25 for the stock battery, or $42 for an extended life battery. The Treo 700wx uses the same battery as the Treo 700w, 700p, and the Treo 650.

Treo 700 wx battery

My Treo 700 wx will show a low battery warning & shut down, at various states of charge, even when charging. If I unplug it, then remove the battery for a few seconds, then replace the battery, it will show full, half, or whatever charge it should be at. I have cleaned the battery & charger contacts, & tried both 12v & AC chargers with similar results.
Should I buy a new battery, reprogram, or is the Treo toasted?

ICal and Treo 700 sync? Is it possible?

I really could use some help hear so someone please step up. I have a new Macbook Pro (which I'm confused sometimes on its ability to run windows type programs or what not...but thats a different story). The treo 700 is not a Palm product per say but is made by palm. It basically has the windows operating system. Can I use this and sync ok with ical? Has anybody else done it? Please help.

As indicated above, Mark/Space is developing a version of the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile which will support Windows Mobile 5 devices like the Treo 700w. I have tremendous faith in the engineering team at Mark/Space, but not much in the WM5 platform itself, no matter which device it is installed on.
They are offering an early alpha release of the Windows Mobile 5 compatible package, currently at release 2.5a10. There are a couple of caveats: as early release software, it's clearly only for the adventurous, and you must purchase or already own a license for the current release version which does not support Windows Mobile 5 devices. The good news: you get to have some input into the design and testing process, you get to place your data at reasonably serious risk, and you get a FREE copy of the release package when it eventually ships.
As a committed Palm OS user and equally committed anti-Microsoft zealot, I'm not likely to take the plunge, but I'm pretty sure that I would sign on just for the adventure if it weren't for those factors. It is possible to meticulously protect both you Mac OS and Palm OS data from disaster, and if you're willing to take some risk, you might find the experience rewarding.

Outlook and Treo 700 wx are missing most, but not all, of my calendar entries

I am running Windows XP and Outlook 2003 (SP3). I have a Treo 700 wx with service from Verizon. I normally sync via USB using ActiveSync. A few days ago I noticed that most, but not all of my calendar entries were missing. I am missing 99% of my future appointments, which of course is my big concern. I am not missing too many historical appointments (at least starting 1 month ago). I have synced the same way for years without a problem. I did try to set up Wireless Sync via Verison about a week ago. I called Verizon support to see if I somehow screwed up my calendar in the process of trying to set up Wireless Sync, and they said I never succeeded in setting it up (which I suspected), so they don't think that was the problem. Do you have any idea what I could have done wrong and how I get my future appointments back?

Absolutely not.
You must synchronize your Treo contact records using a product like iSync—or, transfer your Treo contact records into the Address Book as vCards—then synchronize the iPhone using iTunes via USB to transfer them from the Address Book to the iPhone.

TREO 700 NOT BEING ABLE TO SYNC ... EVEN WITH MISSING SYNC

Nothing. It does nothing. I press the former "hot sync" button and it plays a funny sound. Then, nothing. There is no reacting, nothing seem to happens.

Treo 700 / mercedes benz

please advise-I have a treo 700 and a new benz-my salesman said they were compatible-the treo worked for about 2 weeks and like a rejected heart - it died.
I went to the MB service team and was told that only the Palm Centro was compatible.
I like the treo 700 with all it faults - any suggestions -
would the treo be able to transfer all my info if I switch to heaven forbid a blackberry which is compatible.

Try a 10 second soft reset by taking out the battery for at least 10 seconds. This allows the device to power off completely, like a shutdown on a PC.
Try to pair up again and see if it will work.
You can transfer the data from the 700 to the Blackberry by sync'ing to Outlook.

Treo 700 with paralles windows XP

I cannot get my HotSync to work on Windows Parallels. It keep telling me that COM1 is already in use. Is there a way to change the COM port. It synced fine when I was running windows in Boot Camp but hasnt synced since Parallels has been running.

I have never seen a file like that in My Documents. If my doucments are lost how do I set up a file on my PC where the documents are stored when I perform a hotsync?

Treo 700 freezes or locks up; can't get incoming calls

It just locks up all the time and it doesn't ring when it is locked up so I am missing most of my calls.

I checked for similar problem reported and found one that was posted on Jan 18, 2006.(I tried it and it worked) It stated the following:

Treo 700, I want to move from MissingSync back to iSync HELP

Long story short: got a replacement Palm Treo700 phone. Missing Sync doesn't like that---replacement Treo crashes all the time now. I want to go back to using my iSync. I've uninstalled MissingSync but now I can't sync with iSync, it errors out. So my Treo is relatively useless except as a phone and whatever calendar, phone book data is still in it. Any advice I will appreciate!

I agree that it's a step backward.
Yes, it's a Verizon Wireless phone, however it is clearly documented on the MarkSpace site if you sync a new phone with your "old" software without making the necessary adjustments, it will crash. I, of course, did not think that the new phone would cause this problem so I just synced it. whoops.
Now I just want to fix the problem and once I do so I will move back to MissingSync.

Palm treo pro; frozen touch screen.

hey, just bought this phone. been using a plam for many years and i find that this plam has issues with the touch screen as sometimes it is unresponsive. just wondering if its happening to anyone else? let me know! thanks!

I'm having a similar problem. Brand new phone. Everything works well. Touchscreen responds to finger touch but the stylus will not cause a responce. Did a soft reset. Is a hard reset in order or is there a setting somewhere I haven't found yet?

Treo 700WX DUN: Does NOT work in Leopard! Anyone have luck?

I have a Treo 700WX with Sprint. I can't connect with Bluetooth or USB. When I used Tiger I was able to make it work just fine.
Now with Leopard...It does NOT work. The modem disconnects during connection. I just can't get online plain and simple.
At first I was blaming my Treo. But I tested it out on my Vista Partition and it worked! So the problem lies within Leopard.
Apple did a lowsy job on the Networking features in Leopard thus far.
*Has anyone gotten Leopard to use DUN (Dialup Networking) with a cellular Device?*
Again I'm using a Treo 700 WX (Windows Mobile 5) with the 1.15 software installed. I've also tried to install USB Modem (by Mobile-Stream) which enables USB connectivity. It still does not work. Same errors.
I was camping in the middle of nowhere for 5 WHOLE DAYS with no Internet!!!!!!! hehe jk I was actually happy about that. Excuse not to work! :P But there may be a day when I need DUN.
I don't have the "Phone as Modem" through Sprint. However you don't need it on your plan for this phone.

Sprint DUN is working just dandy for me, but I am using phone-as-modem, and with an A900M, not a Treo. You probably know more about the differences than I, but I would expect they both use the same protocols to connect (on both ends).
For me, it was a snap to set things up in Leopard. Actually easier than Tiger. Do you use a standard DUN connection, or must you use some other method for the Treo, running Windows Mobile?
Assuming it is standard DUN, let's go through the steps. First, is there any indication that the Treo is recognizing the connection as a request for DUN service (for example, my A900M clearly states that it is being used as a Data Modem)? Do you have the modem script set to dial #777? OK, here's the "Duh!!!" question: Do you have the modem script set to ignore the dial tone? If you do not have it set to "ignore," it will immediately fail every time.

Treo phone wont ActiveSync with Parrellels and Windows NT with sp II

Treo 700 with Windows OS/ActiveSync 4.5
I've tried all the recommended 'fixes' and even went to MS and downloaded the new version of ActiveSync 4.5. However, the system has never been able to access or recognize the USB port. Anyone had this problem? Thanks.

Versa Mail sync for Treo 650

The company I work for recently changed the email server to an exchange server with Outlook as the front end application. Before we had an Oracle conduit to interface our Outlook applicaton with the prior email server and I was able to sync my Treo 650 with the server using a company-supplied interface and Chapura PocketMirror. Now with the exchange server, my company provides the Versa Mail application 3.5.4 but it only supports Treo 700 with 1.10 VZW software version. Can I use this software setup with my Treo 650? If not, is there a Versa Mail version that will allow my Treo 650 to sync? I only want my Treo to sync with the system, I'm not interested in receiving emails directly to my smartphone. Please help.

What is the Exchange Server version? Is it 2007 or 2003? You should be able to sync with server 2003 with the version on the phone.
