Treo 700 with paralles windows XP

I cannot get my HotSync to work on Windows Parallels. It keep telling me that COM1 is already in use. Is there a way to change the COM port. It synced fine when I was running windows in Boot Camp but hasnt synced since Parallels has been running.

I have never seen a file like that in My Documents. If my doucments are lost how do I set up a file on my PC where the documents are stored when I perform a hotsync?

please advise-I have a treo 700 and a new benz-my salesman said they were compatible-the treo worked for about 2 weeks and like a rejected heart - it died.
I went to the MB service team and was told that only the Palm Centro was compatible.

Try a 10 second soft reset by taking out the battery for at least 10 seconds. This allows the device to power off completely, like a shutdown on a PC.
Try to pair up again and see if it will work.
You can transfer the data from the 700 to the Blackberry by sync'ing to Outlook.

Hello everyone. I apologize for reusing this very old post but I got my hands on an old Palm Treo 750 with Windows Mobile 6 working properly but I could by no way get it synchronized via usb with my Windows 7 laptop. I tried the suggested solution but still I get the Device not recognized from the windows installer- Colud you please somehow help me? Many thanks
P.S. I downloaded the program from the link but when launching it as admin nothing happen...

Sprite backup downloaded from Palm site won't run on my Treo 750 with Windows XP on laptop

I have a Treo 750 with WMD 5.0 and Windows XP on my laptop. I have a 2G mini storage card. I downloaded the free Sprite software from Palm support and installed it on laptop and the storage card. When I run the set-up wizard on the PC, I get an error on the mobile device stating the program does not run with my device. I have carefully checked to make sure I downloaded the program for the Treo 750 and have verified the installation - it just doesn't work.
Do I have to get the new software ($29.95) from Sprite? Any ideas why I can't use the free software from Palm site?
Has anyone had better success with the new version?

A. PROBLEM: Each time I try to use this reputable program (version 5.2 (7534.52.7), I encountered the following problem:
Program (1) loads instantly, (2) presents the browser space, (3) agrees to open new tabs, (4) but when I try to direct it to ANY URL at all, the hour-glass appears, but the wait is fruitness. I cannot reach any site at all.
I've tried to access the program, both as "administrator" and regular "user." No joy.
All I ever get showing is the interesting interface (and an hour-glass on an URL-call) and nothing else.

Need to Deploy Distribution Points for 700 Offices on Windows 7 Systems with 128kbps of Bandwidth

Need to deploy Distribution Points for 700 sites on windows 7 with 128kbps of link.During Office hours DP fails as entire 128 kbps of link is utilized.During non business hours it gets succeeded.
Setup for SCCM 2012-
1 Primary Server at DC
Secondary Server @ HO
100 DP's already created on link of 128 Kbps
Is there any option of creating Offline DP's in 2012......
How can I fastern the Process of DP Creation??????
Any help would be highly appreciated.......

Just to inform you that I need to Create fresh Distribution Point on Windows 7 systems as above technet link is used once you have setup distribution points if you need not have to utilized your 128kbps bandwidth in that scenario I can prestage the content
and copy that content on remote DP.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I am new in Mac world. I understand Parallels software will let you install windows on a HD partition.
Any suggestions to make this process as expedite as possible?
How big is the partition required?
Is it possible install windows based aplications on that partition? software?

I have a core 2 Duo (3.33) iMac with 8GB and run Parallels 7 with a Windows 7 operating system. I use it for surfing the web and Microsoft business applications. I find no problem with heat and speed. For everything else, I use OSX.
I was using the same product/operating system on a MacBook Pro (2005) Core 2 Duo with 8GB of RAM and had no difficuties either.
THe problem with Bootcamp is you have to reboot your machine to switch between OSX and Windows. That was a killer for me. In addtion, with Parallels, you can drag files accross platforms if necessary.
I haven't tried Fusion. You can download a trail of Parallels and see how you like it before you commit to a purchase. There are online sales from time to time and you can buy the product for less than $40.00.

TREO 700 NOT BEING ABLE TO SYNC ... EVEN WITH MISSING SYNC

Nothing. It does nothing. I press the former "hot sync" button and it plays a funny sound. Then, nothing. There is no reacting, nothing seem to happens.

ICal and Treo 700 sync? Is it possible?

I really could use some help hear so someone please step up. I have a new Macbook Pro (which I'm confused sometimes on its ability to run windows type programs or what not...but thats a different story). The treo 700 is not a Palm product per say but is made by palm. It basically has the windows operating system. Can I use this and sync ok with ical? Has anybody else done it? Please help.

As indicated above, Mark/Space is developing a version of the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile which will support Windows Mobile 5 devices like the Treo 700w. I have tremendous faith in the engineering team at Mark/Space, but not much in the WM5 platform itself, no matter which device it is installed on.
They are offering an early alpha release of the Windows Mobile 5 compatible package, currently at release 2.5a10. There are a couple of caveats: as early release software, it's clearly only for the adventurous, and you must purchase or already own a license for the current release version which does not support Windows Mobile 5 devices. The good news: you get to have some input into the design and testing process, you get to place your data at reasonably serious risk, and you get a FREE copy of the release package when it eventually ships.
As a committed Palm OS user and equally committed anti-Microsoft zealot, I'm not likely to take the plunge, but I'm pretty sure that I would sign on just for the adventure if it weren't for those factors. It is possible to meticulously protect both you Mac OS and Palm OS data from disaster, and if you're willing to take some risk, you might find the experience rewarding.

Treo 700 wx battery

My Treo 700 wx will show a low battery warning & shut down, at various states of charge, even when charging. If I unplug it, then remove the battery for a few seconds, then replace the battery, it will show full, half, or whatever charge it should be at. I have cleaned the battery & charger contacts, & tried both 12v & AC chargers with similar results.
Should I buy a new battery, reprogram, or is the Treo toasted?

Hello Paul and welcome to the Palm forums.
The Treo 700wx has been out for a few years now, and if you are still using the original battery 18+ months after getting the Treo, it probably is time to get a new battery. You can get them at TreoCentral.com for about $25 for the stock battery, or $42 for an extended life battery. The Treo 700wx uses the same battery as the Treo 700w, 700p, and the Treo 650.

Where are "documents to go" files stored when I perform a Hotsync with my windows xp system?

I just upgraded my palm OS to the latest version on my Treo 755p. Prior to upgrading I did a verizon wireless sync and a hotsync with my windows XP based PC. I list all my "documents to go" files that were stored on my phone. They did not reappear when I did Hotsync after the update. They were all supposed to be Hotsynced.
Where are these files stored on my computer? How do I avoid this from happening again?

Pairing Treo 750 with Toyota

Anyone successful pairing the Treo 750 with a 2008 Toyota? I was unable even after contacting Palm support (no help except telling me about the Palm web info). I have read of an occassional partial success but I am unable to duplicate. I have upgradeed to the new Windows 6.0 hoping that would help for AT&T but still no pairing. Although Palm support says it should be compatible on Toyotas equipped with the Denso 5, Toyota support said that they do not consider the Treo devices compatible with their Bluetooth car kit as it performs inconsistently at best. Any ideas??? Or do I have a $400 paper weight, a new car, and a different phone from another manufacture from now on?

Pairing FIX for all Toyota Bluetooths with Nav System
The phone would finish pairing with the Toyota and was happy but theCar still said "CONNECTING".
I figured out that placing a call from the phone would actually force the connection and complete the pairing.
Amazing that this was only discovered after Palm sent me 2 new Palms and Toyota gave me a new Nav...and still no FIX.Found the answer in this forum...How does Palm Tech Support not know this simple resolution ?????

Using Treo 700p with Palm Desktop 4.1.4e

Does anyone know if it is possible to sync a Treo 700p with Palm Desktop 4.1.4e on Windows XP via USB?
I have a client that upgraded from a 600 to a 700p but prefers PD 4.1.4e over PD 6.2 due to the lack of colour categories and the increased sync time experienced in 6.2.

iTunes setup on a NAS with multiple windows users?
I am very confused on what is the best way to handle this setup for my friends family. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry in advance as I know this is a long winded post - I have a feeling this will help others faced with the same issues or questions.
CURRENT SETUP
I have three new Windows 7 machines networked (two desktops and one laptop) that have four users on each - as busy family with children who need the computers for homework, projects, games, etc... The goal of this setup is that any user can log onto any computer and have there documents available to them no matter computer was free to use. I set this up using the library function in Windows 7 and seems to work pretty well.
I have put a Buffalo Linkstation NAS on the system as well. This was going to serve two purposes 1) run some backup software to protect the computers and 2) consolidate the iTunes content in one place for all users. There is also an iPad in the home that I should would be better served by accessing the content on the NAS without requiring any of the computers being on. Dave is thinking about getting some other playback devices like Apple TV so thought a NAS would be a good way to go.
CURRENT ITUNES SETUP - I have created a new iTunes library on the NAS by holding the SHIFT button down while starting iTunes and pointed to that folder on a Share on the NAS. There was no music on the system at the time as we are planning to copy this over from an OLD machine that is now not being used. I have also authorized all the computers and turned on the home sharing feature (although I am not sure what good that does).
This “shift” button trick seesm to also point the default directory there without point to it in the advanced setup tab of iTunes.
I then synced one of the iPods with purchased content on it and synced that to the library after asking me to do so before an update. All the content showed up in the library and was playable - awesome.
I then logged into each user on each machine (yikes) and installed iTunes and used the “shift” trick to connect each users iTunes to the database on the NAS. Everything seems to work - but I have not tested it thoroughly.
SUMMARY
3 new Windwos 7 networked machines
4 identical users on each machine
1 TB Buffalo linkstation
iTunes setup with the folder on a SHARE
all user’s itunes connected to the iTunes folder on the NAS
all computers authorized with home sharing turned on.
one iTunes user account signed in on each machine
multiple iPods and one iPad in the system
QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
Is there a better way to do this on a NAS?
Would home sharing be better in some way?
I understand the NAS should show up under the shared section in iTunes - I assume that would mean that would mean each user has an iTunes library on their documents?
I have read that there may be corruption issues if users on the different machines try to access iTunes at the same time.
Will there be any issues syncing that various iPods with?
Ugh - sorry for the long post and all the questions. I am just trying to find the best way to do this. I wish Apple would put out a best practices document for setups like this. Thanks in advance.

This is a user to user support forum. Your fellow users can offer solutions or workarounds based on their experience with the application. If you think it should work differently drop a line to iTunes Feedback.
For reasons unknown Apple haven't chosen to allow iTunes to be suspended in one profile and active in another. My recollection is that this applies even if each profile has a different library, although it is some time since I've committed a personal test.
I'm not sure why my suggestion make less sense that your current approach?. As I understand it currently everybody is either signed into their own account when they can do something other than work with iTunes, or they sign into the special iTunes account where they can't access any of their other stuff. You don't have to disable fast user switching. Follow exactly the same steps, but make sure everyone closes iTunes before turning the computer over to another user. Disabling fast user switching helps to enforce that action.
