Treo 700WX (Verizon) Email Problem

I have the Treo 700WX (Verizon) phone.  I have no problem sending or recieving emails from my work Pop 3 Account.
However, at times, I deal with large programs at times and this will fill my memory card up.  If I delete the email from my phone, it will delete it on the server.
Every email application I have ever seen has had a way to leave a copy of the message on the server.  If the Treo does have this option, I can not find it.
Please help, I am losing emails that I really need.
Thank you,
JR

When I go into options, it shows a list of my accounts.  I select my account.
E-mail Setup (1/4) - This is where you enter your email address. -- Next
E-mail Setup (2/4) - This is your user information. -- Next
E-mail Setup (3/4) - Account Information.  -- Next
E-mail Setup (4/4) - Server Information.  -- Finish
On screen 4, there is an Options button. Which brings you to an options setup.
Options (1/3) - This is where you tell to connect and check for messages every however (I have it set to 15) minutes.  -- Next
Options (2/3) - This page has Only diplay messages from the last x number of days. and your outgoing mail settings. -- Next
Options (3/3) - This page is whether or not you want to get the full message of just the headers.  -- Finish
I still don't see anywhere to set the option to keep the messages on the server.
Thanks for your help thus far,
JR
Edited to add that I am running WM5.

I have a Treo 700wx and use Verizon with Yahoo premium mail service. I can send and receive emails but any attachments on incoming mail is "removed" before I receive it. I actually have a message at the bottom of my email that tells me attachments have been removed! Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Is it an option I need to change on my Treo software or what? I receive the attachments fine on my desktop when logged in to my Yahoo account. And I called Yahoo and they verified that their ssytem is working properly.

  • Treo 700wx (Verizon) AOL Email: How to Delete Email

I have AOL setup on my Treo running Windows Mobile 5.0.  Every time I delete an email from my Treo, it will repopulate the email after the next sync.  How do I get the email to stay deleted?  Very Frustrating.
Post relates to: Treo 700wx (Verizon)

I did try that link.  When I enter my email address it tells me there is no known yahoo account associated with it.
I called Verizon Tech help today got transferred 4 times and no one was able to help nor did they understand my issue.  I also had trouble understanding their accents.
At this point I'd be happy to just unlink yahoo from my verizon.net account but no body seems to understand or be able to help.  I explained that there appears to be a defect on the web site when I click change password in verizon/yahoo email page it takes me to a Yahoo page with my verizon email address prepopulated as the login id.  When i enter my verizon.net password the credentials fail.  Then I click the 'can't log in link' which prompts me for my email address associated with a yahoo account.  The response is there is no account.  I am in a perpetual circle.
Its amazing that Verizon can engineer the system, build the GUI but the suppor people don't even understand what a bug is.  All they want to do is reset my password.  We've done that 10 tmes but it doesn't seem to carry over to the yahoo portal.
I also understand Verizon no longer uses yahoo email with new customers which may explain why this integration and support is broken down.  This gets me back to wanting to divoce my account from yahoo but folks on the support end don't understand what I'm trying  to do.  After the 4th transfer and silence after I explained the entire situation I told them to forget it, as I'll create a gmail account.  Probably better off anyway siince they support imap.

  • Trouble turning on the screen on my Treo 700wx (Verizon)

I have a situation that Verizon thinks is related to low memory availability on my Treo. I disagree. I have to hit the 'end call/power off' button repeatedly to get my screen to turn on. The backlight on the keyboard comes on fine and the screen shows signs of life sometimes, but most of the time I just get a black or dark gray screen (no today screen). Soft resets seem to do the job, but I sometimes have to do that 2 or 3 times.
I get phone calls but I can't see who is calling me since the screen never fully recovers from 'sleep'. I rely on this phone for work and it not only hinders my effectiveness and poses a risk while driving but it also makes me look unprofessional!
I have removed programs but still have the problem. Currently, my settings show 62.95 mb total space in storage on the phone, 36.59 mb in use, and 26.36 mb free. The total program memory is 57.45 mb, 15.22 mb in use, and 42.23 mb free. With all this space free, I just had the same problem and had to soft reset the phone to get it working again.
Please let me know if any of the following programs have a known issue with this phone, and should I remove any of them:
    Astraware Sudoku
    Palm Updinfo
    Palm PayldMatchdll
    Spb Backup
    TomTom Navigator
    Sync Client
    Astraware Cubis
These are still installed on the phone. Please assist with this MOST frustrating situation!!!!!
Post relates to: Treo 700wx (Verizon)

No, the issue was not resolved really. The only solution Verizon could finally offer was to replace the phone. I received a new Treo 700wx next day and shipped the one with problems back to them. That part of the process was very easy. I have not had a moment's trouble since then with the replacement and I run all the same applications I did before. In fact, I restored everything from a backup of the old phone to the new one. No problems. I still do not know what caused the original phone to malfunction, but I would be willing to bet it was related to the download/update I had to do shortly after I bought the phone. The phone's op system had to be upgraded from 1.20 (I think) to 1.22. The new phone came with 1.22 installed from Palm/Verizon, so it was clean from the start.
    Hope that helps!

  • Windows Mobile 6 for Palm Treo 700wx (Verizon)

I'm sorry if this is similar to other posts, but I didn't find any I was looking for specifically.
Up until Christmas Eve I had a Palm Treo 700wx from Verizon with WM5 on it update 1.22.  On Christmas Eve my phone pretty much became useless.  Verizon tech support could not resolve the problem so they sent me to a Verizon store to get a replacement.  This phone now has WM6 (I use this term loosely I'll explain later) update 1.24.
Ok, so great WM6 I think.  Need to learn new stuff some things are in different places and some stuff is just plain different and new GREAT!!!  Then while surfing the web to get myself knowledgeable in the ways of WM6 I start finding myself to become very very disappointed.  I find that most of the joys of WM6 are missing.  Yeah great I think where are they.  I see talk of a Task Manager that actually looks like the Windows XP Task Manager (I can't find this on my phone).  I hear talk of these neat things called plug-ins (anyone know where they are?)...  I hear this thing about My Desktop ummm is that supposed to have replaced the Today Screen, because I can't find that on my phone.  It seems to me that Palm has rolled out a bastardized version of WM5/WM6 and labeled it as WM6 this is quite disappointing.
Can anyone tell me how to get on my phone what is seen is this video link: http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-us&vid=44589ab6-7674-4730-8fb0-ea730631fd77 this is supposed to be a video from Microsoft highlighting the features of WM6 with Microsoft engineers doing the highlighting.  But I can't find half of this stuff on my Palm phone.

Hello slvrmoontiger and welcome to the Palm forums.
The guys in the video are talking about Windows Mobile 6.1.  Your Treo 700wx now has Windows Mobile 6.0, the same as the Treo 750.  The featutes of Windows Mobile 6.1 are not available in the 6.0 Professional release.

Though I have a check box to make an alert repeat it is grayed out.  Most any phone I have ever had or used could be set up to beep at a set interval when there is a voicemail waiting.  So far I have been unable to make this one do that.

This is the same for all windows mobile devices. You will need a 3rd party program to do what you are asking. Such as Treo Alert, Phone Alarm. Those are the ones I know of. There could be others that are better.

Post relates to: Treo 700wx (Verizon)

I do apoligize that is only for palm os devices. I kind of spaced there. Lets go through basic set up of your device to ensure you are trying to connect the devices properly. Also about how far apart are you holding the devices? Have you tried moving them closer?
To setup bluetooth pairing to your headset
On your Bluetooth accessory, turn on the Bluetooth feature and make the device discoverable. Refer to the accessory's documentation to learn how.
On your smartphone: press Start . Select settings, then Connections, then Bluetooth.
Check the boxes for "Turn on Bluetooth" and "Make this device discoverable."
Select the Devices tab at the bottom of the screen.
Tap "New Partnership" to search for other Bluetooth wireless devices.
You'll see a list of available devices in range. Highlight the device you want, then select Next.
If the device has a connection option, it will appear on the next screen. Select Finish. Now the devices will see each other when they're turned on and within range

  • Can't login to AOL - Palm Treo 700wx Verizon

It used to work fine, however recently it won't.  Using Palm Treo 700wx, Internet Explorer - I go to m.aol.com.  I put my username and password in.  It says 'locating' and then does nothing.  Screen stays the same.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try?  Verizon was no help.  It's driving me nuts!  Thanks in advance.

I would try clearing your cache and cookies in IE from menu, tools, options, select memory tab, delete files, on the security tab , choose to clear cookies. Try again to browes out to you AOL URL. You could also try a restart on the device using the following steps:
    Performing a soft reset
A soft reset is similar to restarting a
computer. If your smartphone is not
    responding or you have trouble
synchronizing with your computer, a soft
    reset may help.
    1
    door release
slide the battery door downward to
    remove it from your smartphone.
Use one hand to press the batteryand use the other hand to
    2
Use the stylus tip to gently press the
    reset
    smartphone.
button on the back of your
    3
logo screen to fill before continuing to
    use your smartphone
Wait for the progress bar on the Treo

    1. I've never seen that happen. Could you copy the error you're getting? I'd like to try to duplicate it for my own edification.
    2. You report it by contacting Verizon tech support. There are options on their Contact Us page in the footer.

  • Palm Treo 800 & Outlook email problem

I recently bought a Palm Treo 800.  This is my first "smart phone" and it's making me feel pretty dumb.  I have spent hours (on the phone with Sprint) trying to get my email set up to work.  I use Outlook on my laptop and would like to be able to sync my phone to it to pull contacts, calendar, etc. and then be able to send and recieve email from my phone.  However, when I sync the phone with my computer I can no longer send or recieve email wirelessly - I can only sync with the USB cable.  So at this point my options are: I can set the email on the phone up to send and recieve email but not using my Outlook information or I can set up the Outlook information on the phone but not be able to send and recieve email.  I am just over looking something or just too dumb for a "smart phone".

My company has an exchange server but I do not get my email directly of the web or server.  I use Outlook on my computer to pull the emails off of the server.  What I want is the Outlook on my computer and the Outlook on my phone to have the same information and to be able to recieve emails wirelessly.
I assume your Outlook is set up to work with an Exchange mailbox, and not just download and delete from the server. Typically you can tell from Outlook's Navigation Pane: your Exchange server folders are under Mailbox-Username, while your local storage foldes are named Personal Folders (until you rename them something more useful ).
Company policy permitting, you can wirelessly work with all the important stuff in your Exchange mailbox, including your mail folders, the main Contacts folder, and the main Calendar folder. This does not include contacts you stored in a Personal Folders (PST) file, or in a legacy Personal Address Book (PAB). In order to gain a unified view, you would need to migrate those into your Exchange mailbox.
So that's the first question: is everything you want to access in your Exchange Mailbox?
If so, you can delete your ActiveSync connection to Outlook and set up an Exchange ActiveSync (over-the-air) connection to your Exchange Server. The settings for this are the same as for Outlook Web Access.
    Does that make sense?

  • Treo 700wx Bluetooth problems.

    Hello All,
My Treo 700wx has problems with the Bluetooth connection turning itself off. It always happens when I roam and at other times too. It has always done this, with several headsets, so I'm pretty sure it's the phone. I've found some post here and other places that indicate this is a common problem, I just haven't been able to find the solution. Any advice would be appreciated.

Post relates to: Treo 700wx (Verizon)

I still have to do a hard-reset of my phone at least twice a day to make the bluetooth work. I've tried 4 different headsets, the one I have now is on the "Approved" list of headsets. It's really quite simple, one of two things causes the problem: 1) The phone looses service (which happens all the time where I live) and it turns the bluetooth off. 2) The phone looses the connection with the headset for a moment (like if I leave the phone on the desk and walk out of the room). I can live with cause #2, but there is nothing I can do about cause #1. From what I understand, customers with a Verizon phone can get a patch to fix the problem. So, do I have to sign up with Verizon to get support for this thing? Come on Palm, this is terrible service.

  • Treo 700wx problem

a couple days ago my VZW 700wx was giving me the message that my storage space was becoming critically low. i deleted a few .cab files and put it away. i was also outside of available coverage range while this was occurring.
about an hour after that took place, i looked at the time on my phone and noticed my battery power was declining so i tried to shut it off. this is when the fun started.
it wouldn't power off. i received several application crash errors (google maps, youtube app, etc). so, i figured it would be good to remove/replace the battery. at this point the Treo followed by WinMo 6 splash screen appeared and it just stayed there. i was preoccupied so back in the pocket it went and i got back on the road.
further down the road when i was back within cell coverage, i picked up the phone and the WinMo splash screen was still up. so, i once again removed/replaced the battery. and the phone came up. as if it had been hard reset.
this, of course, is a giant PITA, as i had several items that had not been backed up.
here's the odd thing: my available storage is still critically low. i haven't done anything to the phone since the crash/reset except change a few user preferences. could it be that it wasn't a full crash or reset? has anyone seen this before? is there a possibility that i can retrieve the items i want to keep? if so, how?
    a few other observations...
    * emails, contacts, calendar were not wiped out but ActiveSync settings were.
    * MMS messages were not wiped out.
    thanks.

After the hard reset, the Treo will no longer have your contacts, calendar events, etc. did all your contacts get erased? If they did, any pictures on the Treo will be deleted except for the pictures that come pre-loaded in Windows Mobile.
To see if the pictures are gone from the Treo look in the following location on the Treo,
By default, pictures are stored in the My
    Pictures folder on your smartphone.
