Treo 750 Camera

I just recently got a Treo 750 with built in camera function. I have taken a few photos with it no problem...
I then installed Ringo, and sometime around then the camera function vanished. I can't click on the program in Start>Programs and bring up the camera function, instead it goes to Pictures and Videos. I tried getting to camera thru that, it doesn't even show up...I know it has it, but it just won't show up.
I tried a soft reset, didn't work so i tried a Hard reset it still doesn't work. Matter fact the icon in Start>Programs is even missing. Tried changing the side button from default media player to it, the option for camera isn't even there. It's almost like it doesn't even have the built in camera. Yet you can physically see it, plus I've used it and even had pictures saved on it (until hard reset) for it.
Is there any way to just reinstall the whole WM5? or should I just wait for WM6? Is the camera function in the phone OS or the PocketPS OS?
Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to chat with a tech. support rep on the Palm website. and they wrote up a service ticket for my handheld, they were suppose to contact me to arrange shipping but didn't.  Awhile later, The Backlight stopped working so it requires a flashlight to see the screen. It's clear to me that the PalmTreo750 is a white elephant/Edsel = F**k Up  I have given up on that piece of S**t.

  • Treo 750 camera "gone"

Even after multiple hard resets, there is no camera applicatin whatsoever. It worked fine in the past, but one day it was just gone, and I can't seem to figure out how to get it back.
Does anyone have ANY idea how I would go about fixing it?

Hello and welcome to the forums -
The camera/camcorder apps are hard-coded into the ROM of the device, so when you do a hard reset, they should return, even if somehow they were removed. Try this: From your home screen, tap the time in the top left-hand corner, and choose the Info option. Then tap on Version at the bottom and press the letter C. This should jump you to the "C" apps, including things like the calculator and calendar. Also, check to see if anything for "Camcorder" or "Camera" is there. If it is, then the application is still there, but it may not be visible. If it's listed, on the home screen, tap the word next to the signal strength indicator, and make sure "All" is selected. Once in the "All" group is selected, check again for the camera and camcorder. Both should be there. If not, there may have been a hardware failure, and the device may need to be repaired.
    Hope this helps -

  • ActiveSync won't detect my Treo 750

    Help!!
I started with Windows Mobile 5 before with Activesync 4.2 and it worked just fine.
a year ago, I updated my palm with WM 6 and Activesync 4.5 and it worked just fine.
Recently, I have got new laptop from my company and try to re-install activesync.
During the process, I accidentally deleted the connection in my palm and everything is gone!!!
I tried to install activesync 4.5 in my new laptop and try to connect them, however, activesync won't detect my device.  It did not even charge my mobile.
Curious enough, I tried to connect it with my other laptop at home (using Activesync 4.5) and it did not detect the device as well.  Running out of idea, I removed Activesync in my home laptop and install Activesync 4.2. Try to connect and it worked!!! However, an error message came out saying that I need to have ActiveSync 4.5 to synchronize with WM 6.
I uninstall the ActiveSync 4.2 and install 4.5 in the laptop and try to synchronize again.  But this time, same situation happens again where Activesync did not recognize my device!!!
What to do, I am running out of idea.  Help me please...

I went through all the recommended steps I found online and spent 2 hours with palm support and 1 hour with Dell support and still was unable to connect my att palm treo 750 using activesync when I had successfully done so in the past.  I am using a treo 750 with winmobile 5 ver and activesync 4.2  connecting to win XP pro. I would see the phone in my device manager but it would not connect. This is what I discovered that fixed my problem and not just on my Dell computer but another computer I have as well. I would go into the phone to  Start/Settings/Connections Tab and found USB to PC and check the box to allow advanced connections. I would then remove the battery. unplug the USB cable and reinstall the battery. After phone boot up, plug usb in and attempt connection again and it would fail. Again open on the phone the  Start/Settings/Connections Tab and found USB to PC and uncheck the box to allow advanced connections. If connection fails (it probably will) pull battery from phone and unplug USB. reinstall battery to reboot phone then plug the USB cable back in. My device would again connect.. This needs to be done every once in a while because of the buggy phone and/or activesync software. I hope this helps anyone and prevents them from wasting as much time as I have on keeping an otherwise good phone in sync with an xp computer. Peace and long live a free internet and quality software....

  • Changed who a phone number was assigned to in contacts-Treo 750

I changed who was assigned to a specific phone number in my contact list. But whenever that phone number calls my phone the caller ID still comes up as the previous person. But in the call history list it reflects the new person. I have tried resetting my phone, syncing my phone, clearing my call history. Why does it do this and how can I get the caller ID to show the correct person?
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)

I deleted it from the old contact person and made a new contact with that phone number. I finally got it to work though right after I posted my original message. I deleted the call history from the other phone and then reset my phone again, for the 3rd time and it finally came up correctly. I don't know why it was doing that though.

  • Is it really possible to upgrade from a Treo 650 to a Treo 750?

I am not a very happy customer at the moment, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I upgraded from my old Palm Tungsten to a Zire, then to a Cingular Treo 650, combining three devices into one. I have since discovered that the Treo 650 seems to have a faulty transmission mode, as I can rarely be clearly understood by whomever I call. Am on the second (or third, I have lost track) and continue to have the same problem. I get five bars of reception but can't be understood on the other end. A bit of a problem when one is trying to call 911. Am constantly told I am "breaking up". The repair shop says it "Can't duplicate the problem". OK, then I do not want to give up all the info I have stored in the fool thing, and the 750 seems to have a different system, so I thought I would try that. All the stuff I could find seemed to indicate it wouldn't be a problem to upgrade. When the 750 arrived, I tried to install the software from the CD on my Windows XP computer. No dice. Setup encounters an error and closes. Can't even look at the files, because setup tries to run any time I access the CD. From any drive.  Gave it to my girlfiend to check on her computer, and the CD seemed to run fine. Other CDs work just fine on my computer. Must be some kind of conflict, but what? Tried calling the AT&T number that suggested they could help with setup, and was first connected to the business center, they routed me to the laptop center, who routed me to the network center, who said they would have to bring in the Palm customer service and connected me to a Mac guy that dumped me back to a menu that took me to someone for whom English is a second language with whom I was trying to communicate over a very poor satellite connection. They made no sense anyway. telling me first that I couldn't have two desktops running (wrong, my girlfriend has my old Zire and the CD worked fine) and then insisting that the serial number on my device had to start with a P, when it clearly does not have any alpha characters in it. Gave up on that route of assistance. Managed to get the new ActiveSync installed from my girlfriends computer over the network. Great. Now let's get my 650 synced with Outlook (which I have not used at home) and see if we can move on. Nope. First I have to update Outlook 2000 from the old Win98 to my current XP. Find the old CD, and square that away. OK, now sync to Outlook. Nope. The sync program gives an error, saying it will only sync with Outlook 98, 2000, and XP(2002). Good grief. I have Outlook 2000, and the software apparently does not recognize it. If the Palm doesn't work, there is no reason for me to keep this phone, and I am very close to returning it and abandoning the Palm entirely when I upgrade to something that works, although I dread re-entering all that information.

Thanks for the feedback. Today I installed an Enterprise version of Office 2007 I purchased a while back, but had not yet installed. Microsoft presented a few challenges, but they were quickly resolved. I then downloaded the appropriate conduit from Palm, and synced the 650 with the handheld overwriting the computer. Then used Active Destop to sync the 750. Satisfied I had moved as much info as possible, I called AT&T and had them move the phone number to the new Treo.
Bonus! When the guy at AT&T called me on the new phone to verify it, he said it sounded better than my landline.
Sorry for the streaming paragraph. When it is late I tend to write like I think.

  • Problem with syncing Treo 750

I just got an AT&T Treo 750 and am trying to set it up for syncing with my disktop computer running Windows XP Pro, SP3.
First, I am not an Outlook user, but figured out that I had to install that software to use ActiveSync. Second, I am not planning on using my 750 for email, and am only interested in syncing my Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks. It appeared that I did have to set up the 750 for email to get thngs started with ActiveSync, so I did that, too. Now when I attempt to sync I get this MS message:
Cannot syncronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected. Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile. Support Code: 8503001f
What do I need to do to get the 750 and my computer to sync?
Second question: Is there any other syncing software I can use other than Outlook?
    Thanks - John

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. If the data is gone from your 750 and was never in outlook there is nothing I can do . But if you have your old device and are using Palm Desktop 4.1.4e we can get the data back to outlook so you can sync your data back to the 750.
Post back if you do not have Palm Desktop 4.1.4e
If you do great. All you need to do is go to Start-->Programs/All Programs-->Palm/Palmone-->PIM Conduit Sync--> Sync with Outlook. If it says you are already to sync with Outlook then good if not let it do its thing. After this what you need to do next is right click on the Hotsync Manager go to custom then click on Calendar and select change then select handheld overwrites desktop. Do the same for contacts, tasks, and memos.
Post back if you have more questions.

  • Sync Windows Mobile Treo 750 with Vista 64 bit, FINALLY DID IT!

I have just spent 3 hours trying to set up sync between my Treo 750 and my new Vista 64-bit computer.  Here's what I learned:
You have to download the Windows Mobile Device Center and its update (that's why some people felt they were downloading twice).  Even after the second download, it still didn't work, so I was told to uninstall both, then I was directed to the following link, where it only had to download once -- http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx
Once I did that, I kept getting an error message that my device was not recognized, and the mobile device center
said the device was not connected (and the proposed solution on the computer was to replace the device).  I tried the things that others have mentioned on this forum, but it still did not work.  After talking with AT&T, they suggested I do a soft reset on the phone.  That is what finally worked for me EXCEPT that each time my phone "timed out" (the display went blank), it would say it was not connected again.  I finally kept touching the screen so the display would not go blank.  Another option is to change the amount of time it will stay on before timing out, which I may do if this continues to be a problem when I sync in the future.
I hope this information helps someone else along the way.  It has been quite a frustrating process, as are many other things when transitioning to a new computer.

    Very Delayed Update:
Whenever I upgraded my Treo 750 to WM6, I found in PROGRAMS "Proxy Manager" which is nothing but a box to select to "Force AT&T Proxy".
Whenever I have established an ActiveSync connection via Bluetooth with my internet connected laptop, I simply Un-Select the "Force AT&T Proxy" and any program (IE, Google Maps, email Send & Recieve, etc.) use the ActiveSynce Passthough.

  • Palm treo 750 will not pair with Motorola H500

I have no other Bluetooth devices at all and nothing will pair with it and I followed the directions to the letter as have several other knowledgeable people, one being the AT&T tech in the store.  You say the connection is locked to the last device paired.  Is it possible that it's locked on the device even though the passkey didn't work?  Can it be in some kind of limbo - recognized but not paired and the connection is locked?  I don't know all the technology about that - but something happened when I tried to pair it the first time - it recognized it just fine and then rejected the passkey and it won't pair with anything, even a Palm earpiece. Of course, if that were the case, any of the 3 master resets I have performed should have cleared that huh? There are no devices listed and both devices are fully charged.  The ebayer who sold me the phone is willing to let me return it so if you have any other ideas, please let me know.  Thanks.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
You can try a hard reset to resolve this issue. A hard reset will erase all data on the device and restore settings back to default. For further information and instructions on resets please visit kb.palm.com and look up article number 43146 in the Solution I.D. search field.
Once a hard reset has been completed successfully and the device is restored, see if you are still experiencing the same problems with the microphone. If the problems still exsists you have a hardware issue and you will want to seek repair or replacement methods.
I hope this information is useful and please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
