TREX 7.0 Installation

Hi All,
I've successfully installed NW04s sneak preview on my PC. I'm trying to install the TREX70SP07P1, for TREX installation after launching sapinst:
I select <b>"SAP NetWeaver 2004s TREX Search and Classification" -> "Installation services for TREX global file system" -> "TREX global file system"</b>
This step completed successfully.
Again I launch same sapinst and selected following options:
<b>"SAP NetWeaver 2004s TREX Search and Classification" -> "Installation services for TREX instances" -> "TREX instance"</b>
This step gives me following ERROR during installation:
CJS-00287 TREX HOTFIX CHECK: Cannot apply TREX hotfix.<br>DIAGNOSIS: No TREX installations found on local host.<br>SOLUTION: This installation requires an installed TREX version 70, SP 07 to apply hotfix 01.
Please help me resolving this issue

Hi,
You're trying to install the Patch 1 of SP07 for TREX. Did you installed TRX previously. Because to install this patch you must have TREX SP07 installed.
Downlad and install the TREX70SP07 and then the patch you mentioned

  • TREX problem: Rapid Installer 2.0

First I try to install EP 6.0 SR1 with Rapid Installer 2.0, I got an trex error in the installation. In this forum (read by Nicky Gromeleit) I got the information that installing TREX in rapid installation is not possible so I try again the following steps:
    1) Install only EP platform succesfully
    2) Install TREX manually succesfully
    3) I have configured IIS 6.0 for TREX
    4) After entering the name server adress in the SAP J2EE Engine Adminisatrator Tool I got only com.sapportals.wdf.WdfErrors in the TREX monitor, although the adress and port is correct. I use the url which you can see in "settings/ Landscape Overview" after starting trexgui.exe.
Did I forget something or must I change something else?
    Regards,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
I had the same problem in the rapidinstallation, but the installation of Trex manualy works fine. I used the port, witch you can find opening 'Drive:\usr\sap\TREX_<Instance>\sapprofile.ini' at line 'TREX/NameServer/Port'
In the Visual Administrator "-> Server 0 -> Services -> TREX Service" I changed the
Parameter 'nameserver.address' in my case to 'tcpip://localhost:port'
Nothing else is to do. So I did nearly the same as you, but maybe the port differs.
    Greetings,
    Axel

  • Trex 7.0 installation problem

    Hi All,
I am trying to install Trex 7.0 and during the installation it asks for the TREX NW2004sSR1 software pkg , i give the exact location of that pkg. The installation then continues with all the other parameters correctly provided. But when it reaches <b>Phase 6 of 13</b>, the window for the TREX NW2004sSR1 software pkg appears again.
Now when i specify the location that contains the LABEL.ASC file , it gives me a window pop up saying <b>LABEL.ASC does not exist</b> in the specified location.
I have checked the files in that location. There is a LABEL.ASC file available.
The LABEL.ASC file contains the foll. entry :
                        SAP:TREX:7.00:content:*:CD51031375
I would appreciate if anyone could tell me the appropriate solution to this or mail me the installation screenshots at [email protected]
    Thanks in advance.

Are you mapping a drive to the export file or is it local. The label.asc in the root of the install DVD is enough. Make sure you copy it to a local drive on the server not a mapped drive.

  • TREX Version and Installation Guide

    Hi,
I m using EP7.0 with SP15, configured WebDAV repository with the Content Server 6.0
Now i wanna install TREX Server. Can you guys let me know the version of TREX server which suits my configuration.
and also send me the link of TREX installation Guide.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Amarnath S

    Hi Amar,
You should be able to use the most current version of TRex 7.1.  See the central note 1003900 for more information.  To get to the installation documents, follow this path.
https://service.sap.com/instguides --> Installation and Upgrade Guides --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAp NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) --> Installation --> 3 - Installation - Standalone Engines --> SAP NetWeaver Search and Classification TREX.
    Hope this helps.

  • Removing Trex from EP installation

    Hi,
I want to remove Trex from an existing installation of EP5 SP6.
    a) How do I do this (what configuration changes should I make)?
    b) What remaining problems will the users see (for example if it leaves the "search" box in the header the users will obviously have a problem if they try and use it)?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
    Cheers,
    Stuart.

    Hi Stuart,
although EP5 is "long ago" and I am more aware of EP6 these days, you should procede roughly like this:
    a)
    - First, you should delete all indices and taxonomies through the Index Administration UI.
    - Second, you should delete the TREX Server address from the files config.properties and/or configlocal.properties in your EP-KM installation (search for them on the file system of the server!)
    - Third, you can uninstall TREX for which you should be able to use the OS's (Windows?) Add/Remove functionality
    - Fourth, if a TREX directory remains on the server, delete that.
    b)
    - Do not use any KM iViews that contain search fields
    - And, sorry, I do not know exactly where, configure your portal header to NOT contain the quick search field any longer. If you cannot find that, please post that part of the question again in the EP forum.

    Hi Rich,
Thanks for the reply. I tried whatever you have said. After executing the command "G:\usr\sap\trex_02\TREXDaemon.exe -f G:\usr\sap\trex_02\TREXDaemon.ini", instead of MSVCP60.DLL missing, I got
"An instance of this service is already running.
You should consider checking if the process with the id 2548 is running and of type TREXDaemon. If you are sure that there is no instance alive remove the file G:\usr\sap\trex_02\lock\[email protected] and restart." and also I have the MSVCP60.DLL file under C:\WINDOWS\system32. My EP is on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
I removed [email protected] and restarted. I am still getting the same error "Index could not be created; creating index failed: HTTP server error: 502 (Errorcode 7266)". I am still not able to create an index. While TREX installation i have a first_test_index created succesfully. But No index Server is Displayed in TREX Monitor. While performing Serach I get No Search Index could be found.
Rich could you help me out.

  • Diskspace Requirement for Trex Installation

    Hi guys,
I just installed Trex server to one of our systems. It will be used for indexing and searching for our portal system which is running on another server.
While checking Trex 7.0 Installation guide, hard disk capacity took my attention.
On the server we installed Trex server, there is a free space of 30 GB. (Index, Trex and queue directory are on the same partition)
Our KM contains pdf and doc documents total size; 25 gb. In the guide it says; index directory needs approximately half as much disk space as the documents plus the same amount of disk space needed temporarily for the optimization and queue directory needs space approximately three quarters of the disk space required by indexes.
    Calculation of disk space required;
    For index directory;  Permanent size = 25 / 2 = 12.5 GB
                                 Temporary size = 12.5 GB
                                 Total = 25 GB
    For queue directory; 3 * 25 / 4 = 18,75 GB
Total space (index + queue) = 43,75 GB
So 30 gb space is not enough for this amount of document.
    Is this true?
    Any suggestions?
    Tolga

We were facing stability issues. Mapbox is a consultant solution and there's not that much documentation about the "internals", it runs as a Java application inside a J2EE engine and thus has all the implication that comes with that.
The behaviour of that version was indeterministic, mails didn't get through and there were so many places to check, why a certain mail was stuck.
You can run the Mapbox as part of J2EE on i5/OS but I can't state here anything about stability or issues, you'd better ask on the i5/OS forum here

  • Is it posible to use TREX 7.1 with E-Commerce 5.0?

    Hi All,
E-commerce 5.0 installation guides specifies using TREX 7.0. But We are facing issues, installing TREX 7.0 on Windows 64 bit platform as TREX 7.0 does not support Windows 64 bit platform.
Please can someone advice if we can use TREX 7.1 with E-Commerce 5.0
Scenerio is  E-Commerce ERP edition. with backend R/3 4.6c.
    Regards,
    Dipender Singh

    Hello Martin,
The E-commerce 5.0 guide for ERP, says that the minimum version supported is 4.6C with the specific patch level version. We had issues initially with the TREX 7.0 installation on 64 bit windows ( lot of modifications have to be done manually here).
But now TREX 7.0 is working fine and i can see the replication happeing from R/3 4.6C. We are configuring the webshops and doing all the XCM settings currently so, would be able to tell in a days time, if  it works for us or not.(with 4.6C).

  • Trex 7.0: free disk requirements

    Hello,
one of my customers has the problem that indexing on their TREX 7.0 installation (DMS-only scenario with KPRO indexing) fails with
error: RROR: not enough disk space for index call. Free disk space in 'e:\usr\sap\TR1\TRX00\index\81f615674584204c9ea4201cc1d950f3prd010\de'=5967 MB (should be at least 7299 MB)!
Of course it is obvious that we have to increase the free space, BUT the total size of index is only 15 GB on disk ,so why it requires half of space free on disk? And is there any way to reduce this requirement to something more reasonable?

    Hi Frank,
cannot read the error message in the screenshot.
Disk usage may be due to large Queues during indexing.
    Could this be the case?

    Hi,
you can look for installation guide in the sap marketplace.
    The link is:
<a href="https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700004245702005E.PDF">Installation Guide Search and Classification TREX 6.1</a>
Anyway, if you go to https://service.sap.com/instguides and then to Sap Netweaver>Release 04>Installation>Cross-Nw you'll find it.
I think that if you to Release 2004s you'll find TREX 7.0 installation guides.
