TREX Integration

Hi,
has somebody experience with the integration of a MDM repository into TREX to enable a full text search:
- prerequisites
- features and restrictions
Thanks for help,
Matthias.

Hi Reiko,
The TREX integration part you specified provides access to the TREX server. This integration allows you to search PDFs (rich content) stored in the repository.

The installation package MDM 5.5 SP04 contain a TREX integration part in its Master_Data_Server area. Is there anyone who can tell me a little bit more about the purpose of such a combination or provide a high level documentation.
I would like to know what kind of additional service that TREX integration will deliver for MDM customers.

  • TREX integration with Portal

    Hello,
We have installed TREX in one of the portal instance. Wanted to know how to integrate it on Portal so that we can perform the Search across the Portal page developed like Wep Page Com[poser, URL iView pages etc.
    regards,
    Jaish

    Hi! Jaish!
First you need to check that Httpserver have been installed on the TREX server, this service its the anchor beetween Portal, Java Applications, and Trex Server, one proof is  check this URL
    http://<YOUR SERVER>:30005/TREXHttpServer/TREXISAPIExt.dll?CMD=PING
if this doesnt work, check this thread https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=53149 to configure HttpServer... or search more information about Trex HttpServer
Then you need what others has said to you... set the nameserver on portal machine, using visual administration.
    Hope its help.

  • XI - EP integration using the TREX RFC Connction

    Hi Experts,
Is there a document on XI - TREX integration using the RFC connection. I need to build an application in EP where I would search for messages in the XI box based on certain input parameters. The search would happen using the TREX engine which in turn has indexes of all XI messages.

  • KM setup in portal

    Hi All,
I want to implement KM setup in EP7 portal.
Could anyone help me by providing some docs for the same.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,

You have to create KM reposiroties in System admin-> system config -> KM->CM before start using KM Capabilities.
For KM Configuration with TREX Integration

Once KM & TREX is installed, you can work with collaboraion.
Collaboration room is created based on room templates. The content in the room will be stored in the KM content dynamically.
also below wiki will help you for creating collaboration rooms

  • Knowledge Management Tab

    Hi EP folks :
When i click the KM tab on EP home page , I am getting exception  nosuchmethod error  .
    I am using KM6.0 , I also applied the patch/update.
    pleez help...

    Hi Sushma,
Knowledge management & TREx are installed comes along with portal. We cannot install KM on its own.
The main advantage of KM is to store the files and documents in a structured manner as per your requirement. TREX is a search engine which helps in searching the doucmetns in KM content.
Collaboration is a feature where all portal users can connect each other and share their views based on the collaboration rooms, sending mails from portal, messenger service. etc.....
For KM Configuration with TREX Integration

Knowledge Management, TREX, and Collaboration How-to Guides for SAP NetWeaver 2004
Once KM & TREX is installed, you can see the KM content tab under  content Administrator role. In Km content you can see various standard repositories which comes along with KM installation. You can create your own KM repositories in portal. For that search in SDN, you will get lot of documents.
You can also work with collaboration like room is created based on room templates. The content in the room will be stored in the KM content dynamically.
    Hope that helps you.

  • What is GP implementation ??

    hi experts,
Anybody knows about GP implementation described
in note 1122409 - guided_procedures index in TREX??
    It's saying ,
"As the TREX integration is not used in GP functionality, in future releases the corresponding implementation will be disabled and the TREX index will not be created."
    Best Regards,
    MASAKI

It depends. NXP uses a confusing numbering scheme:
    For example:
    - JCOP41v2.2: JCOP with triple-interface, JC2.2.1/GP2.1.1
    - JCOP31v2.2: JCOP with dual-interface, JC2.2.1/GP2.1.1
    - JCOP31v2: JCOP with dual-interface, JC2.1.1/OP2.0.1'
The important thing is the version number, eg. JCOP41v2.2. All v2.2 JCOP cards are JC2.2.1/GP2.1.1. All older JCOP cards are JC2.1.1/OP2.0.1'.
Since OpenPlatform 2.0.1' and GlobalPlatform 2.1.1 use different secure channel protocols (SCP_01_05 vs. SCP_02_15), the authentication will be slightly different.

  • GTS Version Differences

A client just starting working on upgrading from 3.0 to 7.2.  Can anyone tell me what are the significant changes between 3.0 and 7.2 as well as 8.0?    Thanks! Mark

    The differences are significant.
But it is also important on what GTS "modules" you are focussing ?
    - Customs Management
for electronic customs communication you have to have at least GTS 7.2 to ensure communication.
The difference to older GTS Versions is in extended functionlity for Customs declarations, for available country-customs communication, supported customs procedures (e.g. bonded warehous, inward processing, outward processing...)
    - Compliance Mgm
same here; much more functionality is available in GTS 8.0 than in GTS 3.0 - also the coverage of legal requirement e.g. for export control is much more better in 8.0..... also for Sanctioned Party List screening - you find more functionality (e.g. TREX integration)
I recommend you upgrade directly to GTS 8.0
To get full information about the differences i recommend you to have a closer look at the

  • Integrating Trex search With Solution manager

    HI Guys,
Please help me with this .
Let's say the solution manager is integrated in the SAP Portal and trex is available in the SAP portal.
Can we search documents stored in the solution manager via the trex which is integrated in the SAP Portal? Is there a how-to guide available on the config?
    Any thoughts are appreciated.
    Dev.

    Hi Dev
    I'm facing a similar problem.
We have a trex server. We connected the TRex to our EP KM. Fulltext search in our Portal KM works well.
We have several project documentations on our Solution Manager. I was hoping I could connect the KM repository of the solution manager to our TREX and search the docs from EP. I was able to connect the Solution Manager repository to Trex. The index is working well.
The procedure is described in note 750623 but unfortunately  the note is far away from a how to guide so I hope this helps:
    Trex:
    - Go to Admin Tool. Then landscape - connectivity and click on create "Connection". Enter system information of your solution manager system. Then click on Create - RFC Destination (sm59).
    Solution Manager:
    - Transaction srmo: Create a new Search Server Relation (DRFUZZY) and enter the RFC Destination you created in the above step and set it to default.
    - Transaction spro: SAP Solution Manager - Cross-Scenario Settings - Document Management - Servers - Connect Index Server for Full Text Search.   Click on "Define Index Readiness" and mark both entries for "IWBSolar" and save.
    - Now go tou se38 and start the report RSTIRIDX_REINDEX. Here enter IWBSOlAR for document area and execute.
    - Now go back to spro: Start the IMG activity "Schedule Asynchronous Indexing and De-indexing" and schedule the indexing job (Make sure you have executed the report RSTIRIDX_REINDEX before).
If you want to test the search go to transaction SKPR07, go to tools, select document area IWB Solar and click on "test search".
Unfortunately I don't know if there is any bether transaction for the search.
I was looking for a possibility to search from EP directly to the solman KM.  But unfortunately I didnt' find a solution for this. The only way I know is to connect the solution manager over a transaction iview im EP.
    Hope I could help.

  • Integration of TREX with Product Catalog

    Hi Friends ,
I have already Replicated my catalog (Intial Repl. and Delta Repli.) this Catalog can be seen in WebServer.
Now i want this Ctalog to be integrated to TREX where i want to see it physically ..
Thanks in Advance for the Reply
    Cheers
    Ram

What do you mean by seeing it physically?
In Transaction SRMO, select the Search Server relation you used to publish the Catalog... On the bottom, there is a button for "Display Data Path". That will tell you the data path of the index on the TREX Server.
For Example if it says: usr/sap/trex/index
then the index is published to:
Path to TREX installation (Can be C:\Program Files\SAP\TREX)\usr/sap/trex/index
or else, you can search for the folder named Index on the TREX Server.
    Thanks,
    Ranjan

  • Integration of TREX/Enterprise Search

    Hi,
is it possible to integrate TREX/Enterprise Search into a web dypro application? That means the user can put a search string into an input field in a web dynpro application, the request goes to the TREX and the result will be shown in a web dynpro table.
Are there any documentations? How to handle this? I couldn't find anything to manage this.
    Thanks.
    Regards, Susanne

The ABAP Dictionary F4 Search Helps (transaction se11) are supported by Web Dynpro ABAP in the same way as with SAP GUI.
Note that the function module TREX_EXT_SEARCH_DOCUMENTS is an SAP internal interface.
It is not released for customer use, i.e. you cannot claim SAP support for your implementation.
Instead you should use a released search framework, that resides on TREX.
For details read SAP note 1254901 - SES for customer projects on TREX search
If you need a cookbook, how to include your specific search help into a standard F4 search help, you can refer to SAP note 1345777 (FAQ SES), chapter 8.

  • TREX -  Sneak Preview Portal Integration

I installed Sneak Preview EP6SP4 Portal and CM.
I The System Configutaion for KM do not show the TREX.
How do I integrate TREX into EP6 Portal?
    Thanks for your help.
    PK

    Hi PK
The TREX is, as far as i remember, not a part of the EP60 Portal installation which is why you need to install it separately. You will find inst guides on service markedsplace with quicklink ep60 under installations.

  • Problem indexing with TREX

    Hi guys,
We have some problems with our TREX system. This´s our environment:
      - SAP Netweaver 7 - SP17 (SUN Solaris)
      - SAP TREX 7 (Windows 2003 server)
      - IIS 6 with SSO to File Server (SSO22Kerbmap configured)
The problem is that When indexing process is started, we detected that a lot of documents had preprocessing errors. We have in TREX log the following info for each file error:

Can somebody help us to solve this problem?
    Best regards.

    Hi Julio,
did you check the following SAP Note ?
    SAP Note 735639 - SSO22KerbMap: Known issues
Did you also create an Active Directory User for the user index_service ?
This is described on page 7 in my white paper "[Integration of Windows File Servers into the SAP KM platform using SSO and the WebDAV repository manager|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e1f93f5c-0301-0010-5c83-9681791f78ec]".
