TREX language configuration

Hi,
i have tried to delete some languages for trex, so that TREX does not create indexes for this languages.
I followed the instructions on this page (deleted the entries in the utf8-section)
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d6/f03841d9338739e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
and reindexed my indizes, but the indexes for the deleted languages are although created.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Sven

Hello Sascha, Hello Paul,
yes, there were more than one file and i changed the wrong one. The right file and the information from the note solved the problem.
Thank you.
After changing the configuration and restarting trex, a reindex doesn't change the settings for an index. It is necessary to create it new.
Best Regards
Sven

  • TREX Language support: Bulgarian

Can anyone clarify Bulgarian language support of TREX 6.1?
TREX 7.0 and above is described as supporting Bulgarian via mapping to Russian, though no details of how to achieve this are provided.
As Russian is a supported language at 6.1 I would assume the same mapping activity could be done on that version.
Anyone have details/experience of this set-up?

  • Any PLM4P Info on Multiple Language Configuration & Usage?

Are there any white papers or tutorials on how to best configure custom data elements in PLM4P application for multiple languages? We can translate with free text cells on custom sections, but I cannot find avenues to translate spec classification data and taxomony in ADMN or workflow status in WFA, etc ... so that we can configure these items to display in the users' UI language which is not English.

Setting alternate language values for some of these data admin items, like Specification Categories, must be done via database scripts.
Please back up your database prior to performing inserts.
Spec Categories are grouped by spec type (eg, 1004 for Material/Ingredient Spec, 2147 for Trade Spec, etc). The following query shows the various spec category groups.
SELECT * FROM commonTaxonomyNamespace order by NamespaceID
For Trade Specs, for instance, the NamespaceID is GSMTaxonomy2147, and the PKID you'll need is '21404D2D82BE-9342-4938-91F1-26D2DB1327A7'
To see the values of the Trade spec categories, you can run the following:
    SELECT * FROM commonSMILTaxonomyNode cat
inner join commonSMILTaxonomyNodeML catName on cat.pkid = catName.fkSMILTaxonomyNode
    where cat.fkTaxonomyNamespace = '21404D2D82BE-9342-4938-91F1-26D2DB1327A7'
To insert new translations to an existing entry, you'll have to insert into the commonSMILTaxonomyNodeML using the same PKID and fkSMILTaxonomyNode values, but a different langID value. To see an example of multiple language values in this table, run the following, which will show the '* No Category Available' values:
    SELECT * FROM commonSMILTaxonomyNode cat
inner join commonSMILTaxonomyNodeML catName on cat.pkid = catName.fkSMILTaxonomyNode
    where cat.fkTaxonomyNamespace = '21404D2D82BE-9342-4938-91F1-26D2DB1327A7'
    and fkSMILTaxonomyNode ='2141144016E5-3EB4-498E-B45C-F18187C2E7D7'

  • SAP CRM to ECC - SSO Configuration - Logon Language Setup

    Hi All,
I am a BASIS consultant currently handling one CRM project. I need a help in configuring SSO between CRM and ECC. Now SSO is not configured, so When I click on the External Link created in CRM calling an ECC transaction, it requests for Client/UserID/Password/LogonLang for the ECC system. Here it takes Logon Language as same as what I have logged in CRM. Hope once SSO configured it will check only for the userID and log into ECC without requesting any further details. But the issue here is we are planning to have additional languages in CRM but not in ECC. So whenenver user logs in CRM with language other than EN - english (eg. FR), and when tried to login to ECC with the external link from CRM, by default ECC login needs to be logged in with language EN, as FR will not be available in ECC. I do not find any logon language configuration in SSO, how can we achieve this, logging into language FR in CRM, logging in EN when clicking External ECC link? Configuring Logon Data defaults (in SU01) in ECC, restricting to logon language EN, will not help I hope. Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Shahul

    Hi Srikishan,
Thanks for the response. When user from CRM logged in another language than EN for eg. FR, clicks on external link in CRM, takes to EN, only if that language FR is not installed in ECC, else it will take to the same language in which CRM user logged in. This cannot be controlled in SSO configuration. Is this correct?
In case if FR is installed in both the systems, ie CRM and ECC, but user wants to log only to EN when clicked the external link(to ECC) from CRM, how we can configure this, Is any parameter can control or SSO setup configuration available? Please advice.

  • How to patch TREX 6.1 SP14 in a distributed configuration ?

    Hi,
I'm looking at applying the latest TREX 6.1 support package on a Distributed TREX configuration (1 master & 3 slave TREX servers) and reading through the TREX installation, configuration (distributed) and the NW04 SPS >=15 guides there is no clear instructions on the recommended process to be followed.
I'm assuming that I shutdown all 4 TREX instances then bring one up at a time, patch it then shut it down again and do then repeat this on the next TREX instance host contained in the Distributed config  - untill all 4 servers have been patched.
Has anyone seen any instruction/detail on the SAP recommended procedure when patching a distributed TREX configuration , or can confirm if my assumptions on the process are correct.
    Thanks,
    Brian McQuillan.

  • TREX not working in CV04N but works in SKPR07

    Hi there
I don't normally get too involved in TREX setup (I normally hand it over to basis) but this time I've been dragged into it. We have a problem where the TREX is configured and is working. If we go to SKPR07 and index, it works and we can do searches from SKPR07 and it returns the results from the content of the file, however, when we attempt to do a search in CV04N in text search, it doesn't return any results at all.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Athol,
Initially you don't find the text search field atall,
    Please check the steps:
    1. Go to SKPR07  in tools tab select "DMS_PCD1" in document class field & docarea field with DMS
    2. go to edit in the same Tcode and select Administration, you get popup screen fill Management table field with "DMS1DISTA"
3.Tick "Create indexing readiness" and "indexability of the class" options.
4.Click on "Index able Attributes"  you get the sub-screen select all or required once.
5.There are two ways of scheduling indexing jobs, ABAP Program is "RSTIRIDX" Tcode SM36
6.after selecting in the TCode SM36 click on "job wizard" icon.
    After doing this above steps,
You can check the CV04N you can find the field "SerchTxt"
Hope this will solve your problem

  • XML file being written to and queried are in two different language dir

I have a script that writes out an XML file and will read it back for checking purposes. I then have a different  script that will read the XML file and act upon it (in this case for Open, Closed for Severe wWeather, Closed for Holiday, etc). What happens is that when I write to the XML file the file is put into the Documant Management/en_US folder. When I try to red from the file it reads from the Document Management/en folder (which is proabably a hold over from our previous versions).
So, I look into the System/Language area and see that the IVR language configuration is en_US and the Default IVR Configuration Language is set to en. So, I changed the second one to be en_US.
Now, when I try to read the file it reads from the en_US folder so everything looks great. But, now when I try to write the file it writes to the en folder.
If I switch the Default IVR Configuration Language back to en, everything goes back to how it worked at the beginning of the note.
So, I have been fighting with this for a few days now and cannot figure out why the system will not read and write from/to the same folder. Can anyone come up with a reason? I see nothing in the scripts that specify a different folder so I am utterly confused. With it jumping between folders I feel like I am in some Abbott and Costello film....
    Thanks for any help
    Dave

The good news is we can be lazy but first to check one more thing: Is your Trigger set to use the System Default language, en_US, or en?  If it's set to en that might explain the inconsistancy.
Now the lazy part: when the engine cannot find a document in en_US it is supposed to auto-search the en and then default folders as well. So, you should be able to let it write to en and read from en_US because when it doesn't find it in en_US it should go look in en and then default anyways.
If none of that is working either then I declare shenanigans, I mean defect! Time to open a TAC SR.

The problem is that in some case there are 2, 3, 4 or more in. When I create an LSMW a have to select  one line in the upload to fill.

  • Function Module/Table to get language of a user.

    Hi All,
I need to find the language configured of a user programatically. If we see in SU01d, we see the language maintained for that user. This is particularly different than sy-langu.
We also tried changing the language in SU3 and running the SQL trace. But the resultant trace was too big to easily spot the right table. Also, we observed there were multiple Update/Insert and Delete operations. So we can deduce that there would not just be one table that would contain the required information.
Could you please suggest an FM which can take in UserID as a parameter and returns Language.
    Thanks,
    Tirth

    Hi Debaraj,
Thanks for suggesting the FM. But when i run this FM for my Id, I dont find any value coming in result USER_DEFAULT-LANGU.
Could you please suggest why is this happening. I see in SU01d that my language is configured as English.
    Thanks,
    Tirth

    A. ESS can support multiple languages but requires language configuration, where I need to do that?
The portal picks up the browser language setting and shows the content accordingly. That works for Business Packages too. There is a language settings in your user profile for languages when the browser language is not supported.
