Trex Search for Archive Link OAAD or OAWD Documents,

HI Sap Gurus,
Can Trex Search in the originals of documents which are stored by OAAD or OAWD Transactions,
if so how to activate the Trex Original document Search for Documents stored through OAAD or OAWD,
Thanks and regards
J Sari,

Dear Athol,
We are using SAP Content server to store our Documents from GOS and also the same Content server is used  for maintaining our Documents through DMS also,
so as a standard, Trex cannot search documents maintained in content server by GOS methord and it can only search those documents which are maintained by DMS CV01N method,
pls suggest how to proceed for the development to allow Trex to search all the documents in Content server, how big is the development, is there any SAP suggested solution to be followed,
Thanks and Regards

  • TRex search for iView

Hello, I was wondering how to do make the TRex search for the content in iViews and link to those iViews into the portal when the TRex send the results for search. Right now the TRex searches in the repositories specified in the datasource and the results link to the content of documents. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    > I've seen this forum ...
Oh, don't mix up the PCD repository which can be searched for iViews ==> that is iView names, maybe description etc, but this does <i>not</i> mean the content itself.
As far as I understand your original question, you would like to search "real content" ("what's printed within the iView") in that kind that clicking on a search result link would lead you to the corresponding navigation target.
For this, the scenario given in my orignal answer in <i>this</i> thread should be the way to go. Even if this works only in "internet" scenarios properly, for this scenario cannot distinguish between different roles / access rights.
    > is SPS 14 the same that SP14?
Yes. "SP" = "Support Package", SPS = "Support Package Stack", the "new" common number for all components playing together.
    Hope it helps

  • Search for Missing Links in This Folder option not working

I'm running InDesign CC 9.2.1, though this problem has persisted throughout the last few years and previous versions of InDesign. My operating system is OS 10.9.3. In early versions of InDesign, you could check the "Search for Missing Links in This Folder" option box when re-linking a missing link and the missing image would be highlighted in the finder window of the new image location. I did not keep track of what version of InDesign it was when this function ceased to work properly, but I would like to see if there is something I can do to make it work again.
The "Search for Missing Links in This Folder" check box is still in the finder window, and is always checked, so in theory it should highlight the missing link/s in the folder it is searching in, but it does not. The example below illustrates my point. The InDesign document that I used to illustrate this was opened up and there were four missing links. When I select the missing link/s and hit the relink button at the bottom of the links palate, I navigate to the correct location of the link but the image doesn't get selected even though the "Search for Missing Links" is checked. The missing link it should have highlighted was 431-11 frontal.psd, which clearly exists at the top of the "Front Street" folder.
This isn't a big deal when the folder contains four images. But when it has hundreds of links, it is a pain to try to find all of the links that are missing when the file name is often truncated, or it has an odd string of only numbers, etc. Just checking to see if anyone has any insight to this issue.

I think the yellow alert triangle next to each link name means that you just have to update those links, by hitting the refresh button at the bottom of the link panel once all links are selected (it's two arrows in a circle)

  • Search for broken links to images

Is there an efficient way to search for broken links to
    images?

    Hi there
I'm not sure if you are meaning to ask about links inside
topics that point to images that you are popping up or linking to
outright or if instead, you mean that some of the images that are
supposed to be displayed inside topics are maybe missing and you
    wish to know about them.
One easy way to spot a missing image reference is by using
the Project Manager. Not sure if you are using RoboHelp 7, 8 or
older here, but if on 7 or 8 look in the Project Manager pod.
Otherwise it will be found on the left panel of the application.
Expand the Images pseudo folder and quickly scan the list of images
and expand sub folders inside. Any missing image should be listed
with a red x to indicate the status. You may then examine the image
properties to see which topic(s) is/are still referencing it.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Using a single Content server for DMS and also for Archive link documents

    Hi,
We have Planned for a single content server for managing the documents in DMS, parallelly as DMS Standard SAP objects are not available for all SAP transactions, i have proposed for making use of SAP Archivelink funtionality to maintain the documentations where Std SAP DMS does not provide a Solution.
    so here the question is
can a single content server be used as a content repository for Both DMS and archivelink,
can any one having done this pls state if it is possible to create different or Many Content repositories for DMS, Archive link in the same server,
is this a virtual creation or can we assign each repository a specific storage space which it should not exceed.
    Thanks and regards
    Sathish

    Hi sathish,
-- Through the ArchiveLink docuemnt Management interface, an SAP sytem can use various content servers as storage media. similarly, one contnent server can be used by multiple SAP systems.
-- A Content server always has a single database assigned to it. A database can therefore be used by only one content server.
-- A databse is split into as many repositories as necessary. The design of the repository is mapped in the SAP system.A repository contains documents.
Depending on your requirements,(if u have limited documents or with low requirements)  you can use the same content server for both DMS and Archivelink.
The number of documents stored on the content server is limited only by the size of the database.
Its better to have an external content server for archiving purpose, if your database size is increasing. Since the archiving systems storage is not dependent on the database.
U can also refer to the below thread :

    hope this helps....

  • Trex search for business object in portal

    Hi
I would like to build a KM search iView in portal which enables users to search for business object from backend system.
I have built up the indices for business object in the backend system. In portal->trex monitor->display index details, I can see the indices which are created from backend system. But soemhow, I feel the indices are not usable, as I can not see them in the indexing monitor. And after I created an KM search iview with search component 'search_input_indexes', my index created from backend can also not be shown in the preview of the iview.
I guess there is some step missing. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks and best regards
    Yingzhi

    Hi Yingzhi,
with current releases, business objects indexed through the ABAP-based Search Engine Service (SES) or directly from certain SAP solutions to TREX are not by default accessible from KM.
The next release after NW2004s will enable Enterprise Search and provide the meta-search engine for parallel search access to business objects and KM documents.
Please see the following presentation for some explanations on SES and Enterprise Search and note stated time-lines:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/73f3eedf-0501-0010-0aa6-950694c02f99
In some monitors that access TREX directly from the portal, you may see the business object indexes, but they are not actually known to KM.

  • PCD search for delta links

    Hi all,
I'm trying to look for delta link pcd objects in my portal.
I have code that works for iviews, pages, roles & worksets,  for example:
    NamingEnumeration ne = dirCtx.search("","(com.sap.portal.pcd.gl.ObjectClass=com.sapportals.portal.iview)",
    pcdSearchControls);
The following example shows how to read ONE delta link properties::

I want to run this code for all delta links in the portal.
How to look for ALL delta links by code?
    I'm using 7.00.17.
    Regards,
    Omri

    Hi
use our coding to fetch iViews/pages/...
got through them and check wether one is a delta link or not:
If the object is not a delta link or inherited via a delta link, getDlModificationState() returns null.

  • Archive Link problem with redundant document names

    Hi all,
I have a tricky problem in archive link. I would like to attach some different documents to an HR/PD Organisation unit ( objekttyp pdotype_o )
All customizing works fine but the problem is, all documents attached to one busines object ID have the same name ( in this case objectnumber.pdf)
I am not lucky with this issue because  the users must be able to see all documents ( via document finder ) attached to the org. unit  and all what the users get, is a list of  one or more documents with exactly the same name.
In some cases this are about 10 different documents and this issue is a very bad solution because users have to open all attached docs to recognize which one they need.
During the import/check in of the documents via transaction OAAD and OAWD, SAP renames the original document name.pdf  into the related object ID.pdf and there is no way to rerename it or influence this process.
I tried to use some scan software with SAP interface but unfort. with the same result because software of this kind use the archive link interface too and cannot influence the process of check in and rename.
Has anybody an idea ( third party software, customer development or something like this ) to prevent this problem and give me the possibility to stay with the original document names or change it after check in?
    Thank you in advance
    Rayko

    How you fix this problem?
I'm with the same problem. Could you help me please?

  • Preview crashes when I search for specific words in (a) specific document(s).

Here is a reply I wrote to someone else who had the same issue.  I don't believe their solution applies to my situation, because their problem was fixed when they upgraded to Mavericks.  I have been using Mavericks since it came out, but I have been having this problem ever since I got my MacBook Pro more than 2 years ago.
    ===========
If I search for a particular word or combination, preview crashes.  It happens much more often when I am searching multiple PDF's at once.
It really does seem incredibly random.  I could type the word "experiential" into the search box, and it will crash.  I can restart Preview and do the same search over and over and it will always crash after typing a specific letter in the word (i.e., it will crash EVERY time I get to the T in "experiential."
To get around it, I have resulted to searching for the last half of words I want to find.  I will search for "iential" instead of experiential or "ingency" instead of contingency.
It is truly insane.  On any given day, I never know what search word will crash with what document.  But in any given session of a few hours, I know the same words will cause the same document or group of documents to crash over and over.
And it doesn't just happen sometimes.  I would say it happens with about 25% of the words I search for.  Again, I am search several documents at once, which may contribute to my problem being worse.  But, this shouldn't be happening at all.
I have trashed the preferences files and repaired all permissions.  No help.   AAAAAGH!

    Do a backup.
    Quit Preview.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Remove the following. You may not find them all. Restart and test.

  • TREX search for contracts

We have installed SRM5.0. TREX is running on a separate server. A RFC connection between the two servers has been established. Is any other config needed to be able to search in SRM via TREX?

    Hi
You need to execute program SAP_BC_TREX_ADMIN to create contract index. Do read the documentation for this program.

    Hi,
In a clients system, salesdocuments for a given period has been archived. Unfortunately we now need this info (combination of salesdocument / material).
