TREX -  Sneak Preview Portal Integration

I installed Sneak Preview EP6SP4 Portal and CM.
I The System Configutaion for KM do not show the TREX.
How do I integrate TREX into EP6 Portal?
Thanks for your help.
PK

Hi PK
The TREX is, as far as i remember, not a part of the EP60 Portal installation which is why you need to install it separately. You will find inst guides on service markedsplace with quicklink ep60 under installations.

I was seeing this error after upgrading to SP16.  In my case, I was able to fix by the following:
    1.  Login to the portal and navigate to System Administration --> Support --> Portal Runtime --> Application Console
    2.  Select com.sap.km.application and click "Show"
    3.  Refresh the application and restart the two services.
    Hope that helps.

  • NW Sneak Preview EP 6.0 SP4 and TREX

    Greetings.
I installed the sneak preview edition with KM and it works fine. We would like to install TREX.
Did anyone tried installing TREX along with the Sneakpreview. If so could you please let me know the version and any other tips.
    Thanks in advance.
    - PK

    PK,
Have you had any success configuring TREX with EP 6.0 SP4?  I have been trying myself and have not had much luck.
After a successful install of TREX 6.0.1.2.0 on a seperate server, I receive a java runtime error in the Portal TREX monitor.
I have also noticed that in the Portal, under System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Configuration,  there is no TREX folder.
I am beginning to think that you cannot install TREX onto this trial version of EP.  Do you agree?
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • NW04 Sneak Preview and TREX

    Hi,
Does anybody know if the sneak preview comes with the TREX search engine?
If yes, does some configuration have to be done after installation?
If no, can it be installed afterwards seperately?
    Thanks in advance,
    Vincent

According to the feature comparison matrix at https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/downloaditem.sdn?res=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6, I think TREX (or some parts) mignt be availabe in KMC. In this case, it is already in this preview.

  • Enterprise Portal Sneak Preview, quick installation guide

    Hello,
Two or three months ago I have installed the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal Sneak Preview SP9. For this purpose I have used the quick installation guide which formerly could be found under the following web-address:

Some of my colleagues would like to install the same release now but the quick installation guide is not available any more.
Can anybody tell me where the quick installation guide is or which installation guide I can use instead for SP9?

  • EP Sneak Preview - Moving from Portal Authentication to LDAP

Has anyone used the EP sneak preview, configuring first against portal authentication alone and then moving users to LDAP and leaving just the roles in the portal db, without having disaster strike and have to reinstall, etc.?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi,
according to the Quick Install Guide
    <i>(url: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/Quick%20Installation%20Guide%20for%20SAP%20NetWeaver%20EP%20on%20MaxDB,%20Developer%20Edition%20Sneak%20Preview.htm)</i>
first i installed the latest JDK, which is 1.4.2_08
manually i set the following environment variables (like i read a few threads before):
    CLASSPATH =
    %JAVA_HOME%lib;%JAVA_HOME%jrelib;
    JAVA_HOME = C:j2sdk1.4.2_08
    Path = %JAVA_HOME%bin;c:j2sdk1.4.2_08bin;c:j2sdk1.4.2_08jrebin;...
when clicking sapinst.exe it says: <i>latest JRE 1.4.2 with latest Patch level could not be found.</i>
then i checked startinstgui.bat and get the following error:
the system cannot find the path.
Starting SAPinst GUI with local Java Runtime
Java Runtime found in JAVA_HOME environment variable
      Java path: C:j2sdk1.4.2_08binjava.exe
a logon screen appears for sagui installation, which wants to logon to localhost and port 21212. this does not work as i have no webserver running...
i am riding xp - maybe the whole thing really works only on win2000 or win server 2003?
    any comments apreciated.

  • Integrated planning in sneak preview of java and abap versions of nw 2004s

    Hello all,
I installed both AS ABAP and AS JAVA of the sneak preview netweaver 2004s,but unable to run integrated planning.I searched the forum and sap notes but did not find specific required steps to configure.Anyone able to run integrated planning of the preview versions ? does it involve extensive configuration ? Could someone post the necessary steps to configure.I checked the SLD and it is running but did not have any 'technical systems' configured.I created a technical system for ABAP and JAVA manually myself. The jco destinations still shows 'No SLD connection' with a red button beside it.
Then I went to visual administrator and checked SLD data supplier service. It looks like it is lot of BASIS work to configure this. Please let me know if someone has simple steps to configure and run integrated planning just after installing sneakpreview versions of nw 2004s ABAP and JAVA.
    Thanks

    Hi Steffen,
all you need for this type of communication is already included in the WAS. There's a lot of documentation available:
JCO (Java Connector for ABAP backends): http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/35/42e13d82fcfb34e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
Generating proxies "around" JCO (very useful feature of the developer studio):
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/897483ea5011d6b2e800508b6b8a93/frameset.htm
Using ABAP EIS in a transactional J2EE environment via J2EE connector architecture: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6f/1bd5caa85b11d6b28500508b5d5211/frameset.htm
This should be sufficient for the beginning
    Hope that helps.
    Best regards

  • Problem with Integrated Planning / NW2004s Sneak Preview

Has anyone successfully started the planning modeler of the integrated planning in NW2004s?
I installed the ABAP Edition of NW2004s Sneak Preview (NSP) and after that the Slim Java Edition (J2E). When starting the planning modeler I get the error message "Cannot find J2EE Engine" although the J2E-System is running according to the management console.
I suggest that you need to modify some of the parameters of the ICM. Has anyone some infos how to do that?
    Thanks for your replies
    Thorsten

    Hi Thor,
as raja mentioned you need NW04s Java engine to integrate with NW04s ABAP sneak preview.Right now it is not available for download in SDN and service market place. it is still under ramp up and only available to SAP internal.
    Thanks
    Sarath.

  • Can not open Portal home page - sneak preview

    Hi,
I have installed portal sneak preview. All the pags opened for the first 3 days. Later Portal stopped working, but I get only j2ee engine home page.

    http://localhost:50000/index.html
The below URLs does not work
    http://localhost:50000
    http://localhost:50000/irj
    http://localhost:50000/irj/portal
All the links in the j2ee engine home page also does not work.
The only changes I made to the system is
I have installed Apache on different port 8080
I have installed JBoss on Apache
I have changed the ip address couple of times and changed back to determine IP address automatically as it was.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

I've had exactly the same problem on Solaris but unfortunately haven't been able to get it to work.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be resolved ?
