TREX upgrade to 7.0 release 50

Hi,
We are planning to upgrade our TREX server from 6.1.17.0 to 7.0 release 50. What is the procedure to be followed ? Where is the official upgrade guide in service.sap.com ?

Please refer the upgrade guide in SMP. Release & Upgrade guide --> Inst & Upgrade Guide --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP NW 7 --> Upgrade --> Upgrade - Standalone Engines (SAP NW Search and Classification TREX ).
You can find and upgrade document for upgrade to 7.0 from 6.1 in the TREX upgrade column.

I've upgraded the Discoverer from release 4 to 10.2.0.3

I've upgraded the Discoverer from release 4 to 10.2.0.3 on two of my test systems.
the difference between the two test system is that one is SSL enable and the other one is not.
On the test system that is not SSL enabled users can access Discoverer via EBS fine but
on the tests system that has SSL enabled users cant so now they have to go directly to
the Discoverer link to access it. I've logged an SR with Oracle and they told me to edit the ssl.conf file
for the Discoverer side which I did and I placed the file directories and the locations of the certificates in that ssl.conf.
How can I get Discoverer to through EBS when SSL is enabled.

Firstly, you need to check that the ICX: Discoverer Launcher system profile has the correct https url to launch Discoverer.

There shouldn't be. I went from iOS5.whatever to iOS6.1 with no issues.
Just make sure to back everything up before you do it, just in case all doesn't go as planned.
I always do mine the old fashioned way, download the full OS via iTunes so if you've already got it linked to a computer and been using iTunes to do updates/syncing that's how I'd suggest you do it.

Main steps:
- make a cold backup of DB
- install new version of oracle (9iR2) and apply patchset 9.0.2.4 (on windows also should apply 9.2.0.4.3)
- change environment settings
- start DB with new version (start service, but DO NOT open with DB, startup DB with migrate option) or run ODMA
- run u0900010.sql
or run ODMA from 9iR2 Home
By the way follow the migration guide instructions!

ECC6.0 upgrade issue with IDoc release

Hi experts,
we are in the process of upgrading our ECC environment from 5.0 to 6.0. We have quite a few interfaces which use ORDERS/Invoice Idocs in customised form. In ECC5.0 environment, we had developed a Z segment in the ORDERS Idoc and the segment release was set as 640. Everything worked fine in ECC5.0.
In upgraded environment, SAP has released new version of some segments. one of those is E1EDP01. This segment has 2 new versions in ECC6.0 environment - 007 and 008. This change in the version changes the data in the IDoc and hence interface goes in error at the EDI provider.
We have tried to use 640 as the IDoc segment release in the partner profile of the IDocs. This still gives us an issue because the 007 version of the segment E1EDP01 has release 620 and hence the Idoc picks up 007 version instead of 006 version as desired. When we change the partner profile with Segment release in the IDoc type as 46C, it gives us an issue in the Z segment saying that the IDoc segment is not released in 46C and the Idoc goes in error.
has any one faces such situation in the past? if yes, please throw some light.

I can't upgrade to Yosemite public release from Public Beta 2

I'm currently running Yosemite public beta 2. When I try to upgrade to Yosemite public release, The app store is saying the following
We could not complete your purchase.
A newer version of OS X is already installed on this computer. Are you sure you want to download OS X 10.10?
The options are "Learn more" or "Ok"
OK does nothing.
Checked the purchase tab, Public Beta 4 is available for download.

Try logging out of the App Store, restart the Mac, log in again. That might clear it.

This solved everything, after uninstalling IObit Advanced SystemCare iTunes would open with Bonjour enabled however iTunes wouldn't pick up the iPhone device. I did some more digging and a few of their other applications had been installed including Game Booster. Uninstalling that put everything back to normal.
I have been given a new device by Apple who were really helpful and the guys have neever seen the docking connector disabling before. Coinsidence?
Anyway in case this helps other people these were the symptoms (might help with searches):
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
- iTunes 10 wouldn't open originally, just egg timer then nothing yet processes all started
- Docking connector died on the device, wouldn't even trigger a standard USB connection or light up the device
- Uninstalling iTunes etc didn't change anything
- Disabling Bonjour worked but iTunes extremely unstable, seems frozen when syncing and the sync itself, especially with app transfer, was extremely slow and the other buttons were unresponsive after clicking for two minutes before screen would change
Have sent feedback to IObit about this to see if there isn't something that can be done.

Issue while TREX upgrade from 7.0 to 7.10 in Redhat 5

We are upgrading the TREX from 7.0 to 7.10 in Redhat 5
We follow the approach mention in TREX upgrade guide for Scenario Upgrade by Update
When we run the tool the insatllation run and finishes ( Having 2 steps only )
It already select the existing TREX system
1. Set up TREX instance
2. TREX execution phase
after that when we are checking TREX is still of old version.
Moreover we find our in /usr/sap/<SID> there is only more directory created with name <SID> having global profile and exe folder inside it but no instance folder
Please guide how to move ahead.

In the Mac world, major updates like 10.x (10.6 / 10.7 / 10.8) are not free. Minor upgrades like 10.6.x (10.6.4 / 10.7.3) are free.
So OS X 10.8 will be released this summer trough the Mac App Store and will be a paid upgrade.

in SMP,
We can upgrade to SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 from the following basis release:
SAP BW 2.0B; SAP BW 2.1C; SAP BW 3.0B; SAP BW 3.1 CONTENT;
From there we can install EHP1 for NW 7.0 i.e of basis 701.

Upgrading Crystal Reports XI Release 2 to CR 2008: Where is ReportDocument

I am attempting to upgrade our .NET Crystal Reports code from Crystal Reports XI Release 2 on Visual Studio 2005 SP1 to Crystal Reports 2008 on the same compiler. We use the ReportDocument interface and I can't seem to find it in the new Crystal Reports 4.0 managed directory. Here's the top of the .header file that worked in the old environment:

Okay, we seem to be getting somewhere. I switched the /AI directive to point to the managed/dotnet2 directory, but then I get the following warning:

                    crReportDocument->PrintToPrinter(1, false, 0, 0);
So, I'm assuming that maybe I need to provide an assembly search path to both the managed and the managed/dotnet2 directories. Is that correct? If so, is order dependent between those two /AI directives.

Solution Manager 7.1 Upgrade - ST add on release Issue

Good day
I have the following issue where the ST add on's are = the target release of the upgrade. The release is only on a higher patch level in 7.1(SPS4)
The step is Configuration(3) in SOLMANUP, it will not get past the phase of deciding to keep the add on's, the error is:
For the following Add-on component(s) the KEEP YOURS decision is not longer valid,
since at least for one of the base components an Add-on upgrade has been included:
ST-ICO     (changed base component: ST)
ST-PI      (changed base component: SAP_BASIS)
ST-SER     (changed base component: ST-PI)
You need to change the decision of the above Add-on(s).
Any ideas?

I am using SOLMANUP, I am using the installation/upgrade software and using SPS 4 as my target release. I am using SPS4_upgrade.xml in my download directory.
If I try using SPS 2 with SPS2_upgrade.xml it produces an error because my patch level of ST-PI is already patch 5 in my current system(Solution Manager 7.01 EHP1), and SPS 2 of Solution Manager 7.1 ST-PI = patch 4, that's why I am using SPS 4 stack as it is a higher level that my current patch level of ST-PI.
The issue is that the mentioned ST add-on's are the same release as the target release, the only difference is the patch level. The upgrade recognises that the source and target release is the same, but will not let me keep with Decision = Keep

TREX upgrade - Export Error

Hi,
I am in the process of upgrading TREX from TREX 6.1 to TREX 7.0 Rev 50 on the same same host as of old TREX system.
Did installed TREX Rev 50. Now trying to do export of all indexes from old TREX but getting the following error:
