Tri-fold template

I have tried several tri-fold templates by users and have found them slightly off. Would be nice for Adobe to put on into the template library - just a simple tri-fold.

One approach would be to set up the document as 3 columns with .25 gutter and .125 (1/8 in) outside margins (top and bottom can be anything you like). Drag two ruler guides onto the page (this is just for helping you move the column guides). After each guide is dragged, it should be selected, and you can type the exact position you want into the x: field on the control panel, for example 3.6875  - .125 (InDesign can do simple math in the fields), and press enter to move the guide.
From the view menu, unlock the column guides, then drag them so the left one of the pair snaps to the ruler guide (presuming you subrtacted the .125).
The other side of the sheet needs to be a mirror image. You might find it easier to move the ruler zero point to the right edge of the page to set this side up. If you do, you'll want to set the first guide to -3.6875 + .125, and the second to -6.25 + .125, then move the column guides to the right.
Now relock the column guides so they don't move. You can delete the ruler guides if you like, since the column guides are now in the same position.

  • Tri-fold template prints unevenly

    Exported a pdf of a tri-fold template.
Printing on an 8.5 x 11 sheet results in a left margin larger than the right, so it doesn't fold in the correct places.
Didn't do anything to the original template settings.
Have played with various scale settings (e.g., set for printer margins, etc.)--no luck.
    Canon iP4300 printer.

Check your printer manual and see if borderless printing is possible. If so, choose the least amount of expansion, if that option is available. You can't resize an existing template to accommodate that wide margin and still fold properly. You could start from scratch and design your own layout to fit the parameters of your printer. Otherwise you may have to buy a new printer. Check the specs before buying.

  • How to create a half fold template in Adobe Illustrator?

    Hi
I wanna design a card by using adobe illustrator, but i have no idea how to create half fold template.
Anyone can teach me how to create a half fold A4 template?
    Thanks alot !!

Indeed, Monika. And then you have to trust them.
Most know what they're doing (and if you know what you're doing, you can tell them apart by the answers they give you to your questions).
They produce by certified standards and if you deliver exactly according to the specifications, you get what you want. They have automatic processes to check your documents and reject them when they don't conform to the specs.

  • Can I split a tri fold into individual pages?

I have a tri fold brochure that I've created. Prints great when two sided.  However, I need each part of the tri fold to be an individual page (will be 6 pages total). Is there a way I can do this withing InDesign so I don't lose quality?
This is how I did it but it is not the right way.  I exported the pdf. and then opened it up in Photoshop and cropped each individual section and saved it out as a png. Then I used Photoshop's PDF automation script to create the PDF.  But text looks wonky and everything is fuzzy bc its a flattened image.
    Any help is appreciated!

  • Tri-folds

Have just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
How do I get to Adobe's tri-fold creative page?

    Linda5$
I suspect that you should be in another forum, such as Photoshop Elements or Photoshop CS6, maybe InDesign. That "Adobe's tri-fold creative page" sounds like a photo editor's agenda rather than a Premiere Elements video editor agenda.
By any chance is the following the type of thing that you were looking for?

Are you in need of assistance with your Premiere Elements 10 projects or the integration of Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 to produce a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc with your source media?

  • Where can I find good ID pocket folder templates?

My ID software came with a huge folder of templates for all kinds of projects, but strangely enough, there are no pocket folder templates. I wonder why?
Aside from printer's websites, are there any ID pocket folder templates in some obvious places that I've missed that anyone can suggest?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I just want to second Peter's suggestion.
To get a "folder template" made up the company has to make or have made a "die-forme" which can add extra cost.
If you contact your print supplier and tell them your needs - they should already have a folder template setup that suits a "die-forme" they already have.
That way you don't incur the cost of having the "die-forme" created.

I want to create a background for a tri-fold brochure. I would like use an image on the internet for the task. I noticed some of my previously used images are not supported. What image types are supported in InDesign?

Most "images from the internet" are going to be far too low a resolution to be useful for a print brochure. Also, unless the image was purchased, or you have specific permission from its creator, you can't legally use it that way.

    Single sheet?
You can setup up mutliple text frames and connect the flows manually (which is what I do for single sheet jobs), or you can set up a page size for a single column, then use aftermarket imposition software, such as from quite.com.

  • Import target folder templates

I would like to rationalise my current workflow by eliminating Breeze Systems' Downloader Pro, but in order to do that I need to be able to set an import's target folder from a template.
What I want to be able to do is have Lightroom calculate a target folder name based on the metadata from the image it is importing, creating the target folder before import if necessary. Downloader Pro allows you to set the target folder based on all kinds of metadata, but the ones I use are a per-import "job code" that I supply interactively before the import, various date manipulations (based on the capture time/date), and camera name variants from the EXIF. Given that I end up with a folder structure like this:
        \Photos\<YYYY>\<YYYY>-<MM>\<job code>\<short camera name>_<image-number>.nef
    e.g.
        \Photos\2009\2009-06\My Job Code\d60_01234.nef
and the only part I have to remember to supply before starting is the job code ("My Job Code" above) and Downloader pops up a dialog to ensure that I don't forget.
This, combined with import presets would make for a superb import system.
    Cheers,
    Simon

    +1
While I use a different format (\<YY>\<month number>-<month name>\<job code>), I really want more control over the import folder structure, along the lines of how file renaming works.
I managed to fudge this in LR1 by using the internationalization codes (link long-forgotten) but it would be nice to have this "really" solved.

  • Working folder & template questions (Mac and Win)

I'm using Captivate for Mac (both 5.5 and 6). In the recording preferences (Project Info) there is a field for "Working folder" for FMR in Captivate 5.5 or Video Demo in Captivate 6.
For new blank projects, it appears that the Working folder is automatically generated to have a path name:
    /private/var/folders/.....
Question #1: Where is this location on a Mac? (I can't find it.)
Question #2: Is this location different from the "Adobe Captivate Cached Projects" folder in my Documents folder on a Mac?
On a related topic, a client has provided me with a template that currently has this path for the Working folder:
    C:\Users\JaneSmith\AppData\Local\Temp\CP344026233798Session\ForFMR344026233908
Obviously, this path is valid only on Jane Smith's Win PC and is useless for any other Captivate user, whether on Windows or Mac. In fact, when I modify certain default preferences for this template, I get an error message: "The specified working folder could not be created. Please enter a valid location to continue." So I have to change it to a local Mac path.
Question #3: Which location do I use for the Working folder? Do I use the "/private/var/folders/" location (wherever that is). Do I create any old folder? Or do I use the "Adobe Captivate Cached Projects" folder?
Question #4: I need to share this modified template with several Captivate users working on this project (could be using either Mac or Windows). If a template contains a working folder specific to my computer, must every user re-modify the template and re-set the working folder location for his/her specific computer?
Question #5: If I'm not mistaken, temp/working folders for similar software are usually set at the application level, not the project/document level. Is there a good reason why that convention isn't followed in Captivate?

  • Inheriting folder templates

    Hi,
I have created a template group and have assigned that group to a folder.
What I want to achieve is being able to create a new document based on those templates
in any <b>SUB</b>folder of that folder, <b>too</b>.
Currently, it looks as if the templates are <b>only</b> available to the folder to which they are
    <b>explicitly</b> assigned.
I do <b>not</b> want to have these templates available in any other KM folder, because they are very specific
    to my project.
Is there some form of <b>inheritance</b>?
    regards

    Hi,
I am looking for this feature too.
Did you find a solution to this?
Alternatively, does anyone know how to assign it via code?

  • Converting a tri-fold to flash

I am trying to convert a trifold brochure with the first page
opening to the left and the inside page opening out to the right to
reveal a center page. I have worked with page flip to create
booklets in flash, but not sure how to create a file with both
right and left opening pages. Any help you can provide will be
    appreciated

after importing, select the entire range of keyframes
    containing your image sequence. Right-click
over them and select COPY FRAMES.
Open Library and create a new symbol.
PASTE FRAMES into frame 1 of this new symbol.
On main timeline create a new layer (delete original layer)
and drg instance of your new symbol to
it. Now you have a nested animation that can be reused.

  • Exporting a tri-fold brochure PDF, but the second page appears totally blank.

    Hey everyone,
The odd thing about this problem is that I am currently working on two brochures, and the exporting problem only appears to happening with one of them.  Below is a screen shot of the offending page.  It does contain a lot more pictures than my other brochure which is exporting easily.  Export settings are identical, BTW.
This is my first inDesign project, so I could be making a newbie mistake.  Thanks for your help!
    Dan

It seems to be the inner glow, though I don't know why that's a problem. On the other hand, I can't see that it actually is doing anything (nor is the outer glow) and it can be turned off without affecting the file, I think. I don't see that the drop shadows on the photos are going to be visible in the finished product, either, and I'd also remove those (the ones on the color bars are visible).
There's also a very tiny unfilled rectangle at the top of the stack that's in the area of the young man's hair in the center photo. It should probably be deleted. You can expand the layer and select it there to remove it. I would also suggest using something other than the Times .dfont for the verse citation. .dfonts can be a problem when you go to print.
