  • Keep getting prompt for serial number on Trial Acrobat XI Pro

The other day I purchased the upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for US $199. After downloading and installing, the activation failed because my Acrobat Pro 9 serial number turned out to be Beta, and therefore not eligible for the upgrade.
So I uninstalled XI Pro, ran Adobe Uninstaller Tool, rebooted, then downloaded/installed Acrobat XI Pro Trial. But when I try to run Trial version, it keeps prompting me with the same Serial Number Upgrade dialog box that I got with the upgrade that didn't accept my Pro 9 serial number because it was Beta.
How do I prevent XI Pro Trial from prompting for Upgrade Serial Number so I can use Trial before buying? I have never been able to run the Trial version, and am getting desperate because I need to try that before I purchase.
              Thanks in advance!!         ~Carol

The prompt I receive is "left over" from the XI Pro UPGRADE version. There's a dropdown box where you choose the version you're upgrading from (Win Pro 9), then add the serial number, which is either approved or declined - in my case, declined because my Pro 9 was a Beta version (which I didn't know).
It's that Upgrade version dialog that keeps popping up when I try to get into the Trial version, forcing me to choose from the same list of versions as I did when trying to get into the Upgrade version.
If that dialog box left over from the Upgrade installation pops up with the Trial install, how do I know it won't also pop up if/when I purchase the Full version? I really want to get this all cleared up and working correctly (i.e., actually using the Trial version) before risking more trouble by introducing another element. No amount of Windows uninstalling plus Adobe Uninstaller Tool for all Acrobat products (plus, of course, rebooting) has overcome this.
And, just to be clear: I've never been able to "activate" the Trial version of Pro XI, so it's not like it's looking at this as a second install of Trial.
Meanwhile, I've again uninstalled all versions of Acrobat and reinstalled my Pro 9 to continue working on a project. But I know if I reinstall XI Pro Trial, that same dialog box from the Upgrade (forcing me to choose a version + serial number I'm upgrading from) will pop up, as I've been through that before.
The whole thing could have been avoided if only Adobe had forced me to enter the serial number for my Pro 9 BEFORE paying for, downloading and installing the XI Pro Upgrade.
Thanks for bearing with me on this. The one bright spot is that my refund for the Upgrade is being processed.          ~Carol

  • Create PDF from Scanner using Acrobat X Pro

I am using trial Acrobat X Pro. When I attempt to Create PDF documents from Scanner using Epson Perfection 4490 Photo flat-bed scanner I get pop-up that states Epson cannot be started.  This also occurs when I Create PDF from Scanner > Custom Scan > Scanner when I select Epson Perfection 4490 scanner. My scanner is turned on when I attempt to create PDF from scanner. I have no problem scanning documents and then creating PDF documents from file, but I would like to eliminate this step.  Thanks in advance--any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is a tricky problems as hundreds have had the same problem. Research on the net demonstrated that no one had the solution. Some have even thrown perfectly good scanners away. The problem is most likely  obtaining permission from Win 7 security. Don't bad mouth Adobe Acrobat or your scanner software. This solution will work and has been tested to work. You must be logged in as administrator. This will not help Mac User.
    1. Find the file acroscanbroker.exe
    2. Select properties
    3. Select security tab
    4. Select "users/*********
    5. Edit settings
    6. Full control  Check box
    7. Modify         Check box
    8. Read and Execute    Check box
    9. Read            Check box
    10. Write           Check box
Your scanner should now work and any grayed out menus should come to life.

I have had to erase my disk since then with trouble with Apple Store not recognising my machine and the reload from Time Machine has given complications . Can you please cancel my trial and return my Trial money.

If you paid for what you used then it was not a trial.

  • Acrobat XI Pro loads as trial version, not registered version, after MB & CPU swap, it is registered

I have been a registered user of Acrobat since version 3.01. Never had a problem until now!
The CPU on my MB died last month so I had to replace the CPU, MB (and I upgraded the memory).
When I rebooted the new system (with my existing hard drive) Acrobat XI Pro now shows up as a trial version. Not regsitered, which it does show up as on the the Adobe website.
    What should I do?

    Thank You
I am not PC illiterate, been building them there thangs fer nigh on 25 years.
I don’t know how you could have responded within 2 minutes, unless your last name is Adobe.
I was just afraid to try in case it got me into deeper water.
Suspecting that you might be a member of the Adobe team or a very loyal Adobe fan (to have responded so quickly) I went for it.
As you knew, yes it worked but I don’t feel foolish, sometime the better part of valor…, etc.
    Thanks a lot.

  • How do I replace my 30 day trial version of Acrobat XI Pro with purchased one?

After I purchased Acrobat XI Professional, while waiting for the serial number to arrive, I downloaded the 30 day free trial as was suggested by the Adobe website. Now that I have the serial number, after I've downloaded it, a pop-up says it can't instal as Acrobat XI is already occupying the space??? Does that mean I have to wait for the 30 days to end before I can download my purchased version? Can I convert the free trial version to the newly purchased one?
I used the Help button in the main menu bar but there is only a deactivate  button so I guessed that meant it was activated but when I logged into my Adobe account it said I had no products registered. If I wait until the end of the 30 days, maybe I'll receive a notification to register...I hope. I don't want to lose this great product and it wasn't cheap.

    Hi susang72964324,
If you see a deactivate button in the help menu then it means your product is already activated, and please be rest assured, once you have purchased the product you can use it until your subscription expires.

  • Why do I keep getting prompted to use the Acrobat XI Trial when I already have Acrobat XI Pro?  How do I get this to stop?

Every time I open a PDF file, I get prompted with an Acrobat XI Pro message that asks me if I want to "License This Software" or "Continue Trial".  I signed a year commitment about 3 months ago and continue to be billed for Acrobat Pro XI, so I'm not sure why I'm getting this message.  It says I only have 23 days remaining on my "Trial", so not sure if it will revert back to the software I bought at that point or not.  It is quite annoying having to deal with the pop up every time though, so would prefer to fix it, if possible.

    Hi Tom,
You might need to accept the end user license when prompted following the on-screen instruction.
Let me know if it works fine.
    Regards,
    Anubha

  • I had Acrobat XI Pro Trial installed on W8.1, and I had to uninstall it because issues with MS Office 2010. Now I try to reinstall Acrobat and It does not allow me to use the trial version anymore even it was not over. What to do??

Well, I had installed in my new computer a trial version from Acrobat XI Pro, but I had issues with Microsoft Word 2010, since it did not allow me to save changes on my file. I uninstalled it from my computer before the trial period was over, and then, after I solved the issue with Office, I wanted to get it back for a time, but the installer does not allow me to choose Trial Version. I can reach that screen where you choose between key and trial, but once I press trial and click on next, it does absolutely nothing at all.
I have tried to manually delete folders, and I even used CC Clean to make a registry set up, but nothing out of that is working for me at all, and it keeps happening. I have no really idea what to do, and I kinda need to use Acrobat immediately for a file.

The trial can only be loaded 1 time as far as I know. You could try http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, and reboot. Then try an install again, but my guess is you will have to purchase Acrobat at this point.

  • I can no longer open any PDF after my trial of Acrobat XI Pro finished...Help

I can no longer open any PDF after my trial of Acrobat XI Pro finished...Help

I would try using this tool to first remove all traces of Acrobat from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Acrobat XI Pro: Licensed / activated version in trial mode and expire after 30 days

First, when viewing a PDF file, my licensed Acrobat XI Pro (v11.0.10) closes the PDF and shows accept license agreement window.
    I accepted the license-agreement.
Then a window showed up telling me to log-in into my Adobe-account, clicked on log-in.
Log-in window did not appear though.
I re-launched Acrobat and it is now telling me that it is a trial version for 30 days.
    Great!
    "Help->Deactivate" is greyed out.
I may go into my Adobe account, Acrobat XI Pro is listed there, together with the key.
    Now what?

    Later:
with thanks to the solution from Vikrantt Singh
on: Re: Acrobat XI Pro Repeatedly Asking to License Despite Registering/Activating
minor exception - in my case the folders
    \Adobe PCD
    \SLCache
    were located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    so:
    1) Delete the Adobe PCD-folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
    2) Delete the SL Cache-folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
    3) Delete the Sl Store-folder under C:\ProgramData\Adobe
    4) Launch Acrobat again and activate
    Now things are fine again.

Can anyone help with this - do I have to uninstall Reader and then reinstall?

I have had a trial version of Acrobat X1 Pro - I have decided not to buy at this stage - for some time it has been conflicting with opening PDF docs after "saving as" from word 2007 - I uninstalled Pro X1 and now when I "save as" PDF from word 2007 to PDF it will save the document as a PDF but will not open the document to display after publishing - I have to got to where the file has been saved to view the new PDF document - this is really annoying - do I have to delete adobe reader and reinstall it - adobe needs to look at this conflict with acrobat pro as I have even gone it to properties and tried to have adobe reader as the default PDF program - the main issue is that I cannot view the PDF after publishing it from word 2007
