Trial Acrobat XI

Having trouble downloading trial of Adobe Acrobat XI.  I am on a Windows 8 platform, using Chrome.  When I hit the "start trial" button, screen freezes.

3PG3 where exactly are you clicking on a start trial button?  Is it on the web page or do you currently have the software downloaded and installed on your Windows 8 computer?

how do i edit pdf word document in trial acrobat XI?

    Hi joleenm54529481,
If you have a Word document, you'll want to edit it in Word. If you have a PDF that you want to edit, then you can do that in the Acrobat XI trial that you've installed. Here are some good Help articles that will give the basics that you need to know about editing PDFs in Acrobat: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/topics/editing-pdfs.html
Please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • Trial Acrobat X - not worth the pain

SO, IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT TRIALING ACROBAT X . . . DON'T! YOU'LL REGRET IT.
I use all parts of CS3. I saw the trial for Acrobat X and thought, "I'll give it a spin." Big mistake. Now Adobe popups are hounding me every minute or so with "buy it now??!!" messages. Annoying. So, I think I'll just go back to using my trusty Acrobat 8 Pro. NO CAN DO! Apparently, installing the trial has invalidated the license data on my system for the version 8. And, of course it was installed from a corporate license so I don't have the CDs or any idea of what the magic codes are. So, Adobe has maneuvered me into paying full retail (since I can't prove I have a license, I can't get the upgrade discount) to use software I've already paid for.
    Sweet.
Man, Gimp, Nvu, et al are looking better and better . . . Adobe is definitely working itself out of a franchise. Any suggestions for open source solutions for PDF editing? I've got CutePDF and it works great. Just too limited in functionality.

Acrobat will uninstall any previous version - this is clearly indicated on the install dialogs, and if a user has lost the license key or media for a previous version, that's unfortunate but not the fault of Acrobat X.

  • Cannot print pdf file using windows 7 64 bit and trial acrobat X

cannot print pdf files using trial version of Acrobat X and windows 7 64 bit prints all other files no problem.
I've done some searching but can't find anything that helps
    Thanks for any help

I fixed this problem. I had to turn off the browser virtualization feature in Zone Alarm Extreme Security. This wiped out all of the Firefox settings, but I had bookmarks, etc. backed up. (answered by original poster)

  • I downloaded the trial acrobat professional and this is blocking me from updating adobe reader.

Does anyone know how I can get the adobe reader update?

So, you installed the trial of Acrobat Pro?
And used it for a month?
    And the trial ran out?
And don't want to buy it?
But have left it on your system?
That's the problem. If you don't want to buy it, then uninstall the trial. (DON'T delete files, that won't help)

  • Can't Print to Trial Acrobat Professional

I downloaded and installed an Acrobat Professional 30-day
Trial version. It starts up but when I try to print to it, either
from Word or using the startup icon, I get a message that I must
activate it to print to it. But it appears activation requires that
    I purchase the trial.
    Can anyone please help me?

I've started having the same problem with InDesign and a Canon Pixma iX4000-- the job is sent to the printer much too quickly, and then the print queue shows an error message of "no pages found."  It worked for the first week or so I had the printer, and then for no apparent reason it stopped.
I've rebooted, reinstalled the printer under different names, deleted InDesign prefs etc., but nothing has helped.  The only way I can currently print from InDesign is to use the "print as bitmap" option, which is extremely slow.

  • Cannot install trial acrobat pro, file damaged.

Downloading from the website, but no luck. XP 64  bit

try a different browser and/or a different (wired) connection and/or a download manager.  or
if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  Adobe Acrobat XI Pro/Standard and Reader: Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

  • Keep getting prompt for serial number on Trial Acrobat XI Pro

The other day I purchased the upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for US $199. After downloading and installing, the activation failed because my Acrobat Pro 9 serial number turned out to be Beta, and therefore not eligible for the upgrade.
So I uninstalled XI Pro, ran Adobe Uninstaller Tool, rebooted, then downloaded/installed Acrobat XI Pro Trial. But when I try to run Trial version, it keeps prompting me with the same Serial Number Upgrade dialog box that I got with the upgrade that didn't accept my Pro 9 serial number because it was Beta.
How do I prevent XI Pro Trial from prompting for Upgrade Serial Number so I can use Trial before buying? I have never been able to run the Trial version, and am getting desperate because I need to try that before I purchase.
              Thanks in advance!!         ~Carol

The prompt I receive is "left over" from the XI Pro UPGRADE version. There's a dropdown box where you choose the version you're upgrading from (Win Pro 9), then add the serial number, which is either approved or declined - in my case, declined because my Pro 9 was a Beta version (which I didn't know).
It's that Upgrade version dialog that keeps popping up when I try to get into the Trial version, forcing me to choose from the same list of versions as I did when trying to get into the Upgrade version.
If that dialog box left over from the Upgrade installation pops up with the Trial install, how do I know it won't also pop up if/when I purchase the Full version? I really want to get this all cleared up and working correctly (i.e., actually using the Trial version) before risking more trouble by introducing another element. No amount of Windows uninstalling plus Adobe Uninstaller Tool for all Acrobat products (plus, of course, rebooting) has overcome this.
And, just to be clear: I've never been able to "activate" the Trial version of Pro XI, so it's not like it's looking at this as a second install of Trial.
Meanwhile, I've again uninstalled all versions of Acrobat and reinstalled my Pro 9 to continue working on a project. But I know if I reinstall XI Pro Trial, that same dialog box from the Upgrade (forcing me to choose a version + serial number I'm upgrading from) will pop up, as I've been through that before.
The whole thing could have been avoided if only Adobe had forced me to enter the serial number for my Pro 9 BEFORE paying for, downloading and installing the XI Pro Upgrade.
Thanks for bearing with me on this. The one bright spot is that my refund for the Upgrade is being processed.          ~Carol

  • Uninstalled trial acrobat Pro and trying to install Acrobat Standard

A user had installed Acrobat Professional at a trial. She never got it to work. We now have the Acrobat Standard with serial number to install on her laptop.
It came up the Pro so I uninstalled the Professional. The I installed Standard but when it gets to the Acrobat screen it displays Acrobat Professional at the top of the screen.
I clicked ok through a couple of screens thinking it was confused and entered the Standard serial number that I have and it said invalid.
I had her reboot and I tried again with the same results.
What do I need to get rid of before the Standard install so it doesn't think it is Professional?  It is not showing up in the Programs Add/Remove list.
    Thanks.

uninstall all acrobat and readers (if any are installed), clean (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs) and then reinstall.

  • When I try to download trial Acrobat STANDARD XI, I get Acrobat PRO XI - why?

I'm trying to test to see if Acrobat Standard XI will help me, before I purchase Acrobat PRO XI.
When I start the download, it says STANDARD, but then switches to PRO - with no way to change.
    Help!  Penny Dudley

    Thank you!
I'm trying to convert PDF/A files with the "save as" feature.
I know that it works in PRO but wasn't sure about STANDARD.
    Couldn't get a straight answer - anywhere!
    Much appreciated.....Penny

  • Trialing Acrobat Pro X - Quick Question RE: OCR

I open the PDF, but I'm very new to Acrobat - unless I am missing something, I am not finding anything to use OCR for my scanned document.  In some help thread I read, it mentioned to select "DOCUMENT", then there are some OCR options...when with the document opened, I don't see any "DOCUMENT" option.
Can someone help me on this?
    Thanks!

    Thanks, Lori!
I see that now - and it processed - but where does the output go?

  • Downloaded trial acrobat x.....

Now my microsoft word program will not respond...any suggestions?

Acrobat X do have issues with some version of Office like Office 2000. If the PDF printer is causing the trouble, remove the PDF printer. If it is PDFmaker, remove the PDFmaker. Please refer this document to view the Known Issue for Acrobat X
