    When I was signed into Adobe (which was a requirement for installing the upgrade), Lightroom 6 told my at the top right corner that I had 30 days left of my free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. In parallel with this forum posting, I am chatting with Adobe support. he is away to find out how to prevent any synching with Creative Cloud during the 30 day free trial. I do not think that Creative Cloud is an application that gets installed on your PC. I think Lightroom 6 has it built in, and can use it if if you are signed up to the Creative Cloud and Lightroom Mobile (which I am for 30 days)

    Yes, you have to find the catalog file from the CC trial (use your operating system to search for it, the file name ends with .LRCAT), and then once you find it, open the LR5 trial and open the catalog you just found using File->Open Catalog

  • I can I download a trial for Lightroom 5?

    I took images shot on a friends camera (Canon 5D mark iii) that I am not able to import into LR 3.  I thought about buying LR 5 but would like to try the trial.  Apparently all I could download was the creative cloud, which I do not want at this time.  Is it possible to get a 30 day free trial for Lightroom 5?
    Any help would be appreciated.  I have a disk full of images to process and I can't get them into LR at this time.

    Scrappy1 what do you mean exactly by doing a scan?
    Under Windows 7 you will want to use the Programs and Features Control Panel to remove your installation.  I would recommend verifying that Photoshop Lightroom is removed from the list of installed applications.

    Follow up from my post- I have resolved the issue I had. After several more attempts to get it to work, I finally had a chat with an agent. For all intents, I did not get a resolution for the problem, all she did was repost a link to download. What I ended up doing was uninstalled the trial of Lightroom, along with the creative cloud software, and then loaded Lightroom from the link I received when I purchased it. The program runs just fine...

  • Help! I tried to import my Elements 8.0 catalog into my trial of Lightroom 4, not working!

    Please someone help me! I downloaded a trial of Lightroom 4 and went to import my Elements 8.0 catalog.  It says that it did do it, but with errors...and now when I open Lightroom, all my pictures just show up as grey squares.  If I try to import pictures individually, it says that Lightroom already has all my pictures in the Library.  Does anyone know a solution? Thank you!

    That's a mysterious one!  What type of files are the ones with the grey thumbnails?  They're not PNG files or something like that?
    If they're definitely a supported file type (JPEG, PSD, TIFF, camera raw file), then try something for me.  Go to File menu > New Catalog and create a quick test catalog somewhere.  Then just try importing one of the photos previously in your Elements catalog - set it to Add at Existing Location so it doesn't mess up your main catalog.  That will confirm that the photos are ok.
    If that works, find your upgraded catalog on the hard drive, close LR and rename the Previews.lrdata file to something else temporarily.  Then reopen LR and see if you can now see the thumbnails.

    I downloaded PS CS6 just fine, but when I click the download now for the free trial of lightroom nothing happens.  I don't understand why this is the only program that is not responding.  I don't get any error message or anything when i click the button.     Yes, but I don't know enough about iPhoto to understand the consequences of "imported them into iPhoto first". In any event, I do understand the needs of Lightroom, and if the photos have been moved or renamed or deleted (or if the folders that contain them have been moved or renamed or deleted) outside of Lightroom, then this will cause the Lightroom symptoms you describe. You need to reconnect the photos in Lightroom using the instructions I linked to. Either that or move the photos and folders back to where they used to be after you imported them into Lightroom. Nothing else will work.
    In the future, please understand that your photos are never stored in Lightroom; they are stored on your hard disk somewhere and the very simple principle that you need to follow is that Lightroom needs to be informed of where the photos are at all times, using the methods in that link; or better yet by never moving or renaming or deleting the photos (and the folders that contain them) outside of Lightroom.
    As an additional recommendation, the idea of using both iPhoto and Lightroom on the same photos is one that could cause problems, especially for beginners. If you are going to use one of these software, then don't use the other one.

    Your Lightroom 4.4 catalog file is still on your hard disk, unchanged. You can search for it by opening Lightroom 4.4 and then select File->Open Recent.
    Same thing in Lightroom 5, if you use File->Open Recent, it should allow you to open the converted version of your previous Lightroom 4.4 catalog.
