Trial of PS CC not detecting AMD GPU

Hello, my Trial of Photoshop CC 2014 is not detecting my AMD 7950. Latest Driver installed, everything else detects the GPU. Integrated GPU is disabled.

  • GTX 760 N760-TF-2GD5-OC PhysX and Cuda Not Detected

I have done google search after google search, but I've yet to find any info on my problem.
I recently acquired an MSI GTX 760 OC from Newegg, and of course right away put it in my rig and installed Geforce Experience. Drivers were automatically downloaded, and all seemed well. At least, until I opened GPU-Z. OpenCL, CUDA, and PhysX were not checked. At first I didn't think anything about it because I've had similar issues with GPU-Z in the past with my old HD Radeon 6750, but when I opened up AC4, the PhysX option wasn't anywhere to be found. And I did download the patch, so that wasn't the issue.
Next I ran BOINC, which also did not detect a GPU capable of running calculations, which of course the GTX 760 is. So somehow, the PhysX/CUDA installation went wrong.
I re-downloaded the driver suite outside of Geforce Experience in case that was where the fault was, but even after uninstalling and re-installing the drivers several times, PhysX and CUDA refused to check themselves on GPU-Z. I even ran my machine in safe mode and used Driver Sweeper, but no avail.
It does appear that PhysX isn't un-installing itself properly, because every time I run the driver installation program, PhysX always shows up as being installed. I have manually deleted the folders, so there aren't any actual PhysX files on my PC anymore. I figured that the problem lies in the registry perhaps, but Auslogics Registry Cleaner hasn't turned up any errors so far.
Any help would be great; I've sent a ticket in to MSI, but since it is a weekend I'm not expecting a response until Monday. I go back to college on Monday, so I'd like to get this fixed sooner rather than later
    My specs:
    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
    i5 2500K SB @4.6GHz
    8GB DDR3 in Dual Channel
2 HDD (old ones lol) in AHCI mode
    mobo is an MSI Z68A-GD55-B3
    Thanks again for the help.

An OS reinstall would be an absolute last ditch there-is-nothing-else-you-can-do option for me, because backing up my HDD is almost impossible in my situation.
Would a System Restore to a point earlier than the original install of the graphics card perform a similar function to the uninstall? Assuming I did something dumb in the installation or something went wrong in the original driver download.

  • Photoshop CC 14.1 GPU not detected (MacOS)

    So I upgraded to Photoshop CC 14.1  Mid 2009 Macbook, 10.8.4 6GB ram/NVDIA 9400M GPU 236 MB ram.
When I launch PS by itself, my GPU is detected. If I double click on a file, there is a delay in opening and I get this message:
All my OpenGL functions are disabled. So now what can be done to get my GPU working as it did in 14.0?
I'll guess I'm out of luck since NVDIA doesn't issue updated drivers for my GPU.
Just tell me what logfiles you need and how I can get them for you. I'm thinking maybe 14.1 is too much for this system and I'll have to dial back if this is not a bug.

Has anyone had a problem free upgrade to 14.1? If so, what sort of hardware configuration?
    No problem here, Trevor.
I'm running Photoshop 12.1 on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, ATI Radeon HD 7850 with Catalyst 13.4 driver set and so far it's problem-free.

  • 3x GPU Cards on 990FXA-GD80. Third card not detected in OS.

I have three Sapphire Radeon 7950 plugged into each 16x PCIe slot. The third card is not detected by the OS in any way. The two other cards are detected just fine.
What can I do? All items are brand new. I have not used the CrossFireX cable, since I won't be using the cards together, but for individual folding.
    Thanks for any help

ok so one of 4 things is happening here!
1: you could have a power issue on the board and the 3rd slot is not getting enougth power through the PCI_E slot to use the card (suggestion you remove the Middle Card and see if the 3rd slot comes Online?)
2: your PSU could be too weak to power the card (what PSU do you have? as i would suggest that you need a single +12v rail with 60A and a 750W minimum Rating overall)
3: possible defective Card (have you tried it in one of the other slots to see if its visible there?)
4: your CPU has a issue and is limiting the lanes as AMD GPU's like at least 8 Lanes Available (slim possibility but it should have enougth lanes to use all 3 cards)
i would suggest you run the 3 checks i have suggested in the () above and see what happens! also try to make sure the 3rd card is seated properly as it may look right but may not be connecting to the PCI_E slot Correctly!

  • Photoshop CC 2014.2.1 not detecting my dedicated GPU

When I open Photoshop, I get the following error message:
"3D features require a minimum of 512MB of vRAM. Photoshop has detected less than that on your system.
Updating the driver of your graphics card may resolve the issue."
I am running a laptop PC with an integrated graphics card (Intel HD4600) and a dedicated Nvidia GTX 675M with 2 GB of vRAM.
I switch between the two adapters with the press of a single button, for power-saving purposes.
I always run at high-performance with the dedicated GPU active when running Photoshop.
I run the latest driver from Nvidia, and in the Nvidia control panel I manually set the preferences for Photoshop to utilize the dedicated GPU. But it still does not detect my main graphics adapter.
I checked the system information in Photoshop and cannot make sense of it. Why would it be unable to detect the GPU when every GPU demanding software I have run so far (a lot) have been able to..
I have checked google and the very forums and found the problem in various forms with no real solution for it so far. Hopefully someone on these forums can help, considering I am paying a monthly fee for the program and the support that comes with it
First part of System Information in case it can be useful:

    Thanks for the quick response!
But as mentioned in my initial post, I deactivate the integrated graphics adapter when using Photoshop, or any software that demands decent graphical processing power.
I only have it activated when in power-saving mode. And of course I update to the newest display drivers via the GeForce Experience or through their website.
Point is, I have never had any problems with any software whatsoever in detecting the proper GPU and utilizing it's power. The only software unable to register my dedicated video card is Photoshop.

  • AMD Radeon HD 7450 DP not detected

I have a new HP Compaq Elite 8300 CMT with Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit and an AMD Radeon HD 7450 DP graphics card installed.  However although my monitor works when connected to the DVI output of the graphics card, under Device manager it is listed as 'Standard VGA adapter'.
I have tried installing the latest driver packages from both AMD and HP and in both cases the AMD Install Manager does not detect the graphics card, it just installs the audio driver and the install manager and says 'installation complete'.
I have been Googling this for a couple of days with no luck, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Windows 7 Not Detecting Nvidia Card. Gt70 670MX GPU.

So I downgraded from windows 8 to windows 7 and have recently discovered my computer is using the Intel HD 4000 instead of the correct Nvidia 670MX. When I disable the Intel Hd the system restarts and displays stuff but the nvidia program says it can not detect an nvidia gpu. When I re enable, the nvidia driver detects the gpu but does not use it (directx diag shows the intel hd 4000). Any help would be greatly appreciated because I would hate to have to reformat back to windows 8.

Dxdiag will not use the NVidia card. Ignore it, as it's stupid to rely on it for anything.
You can't use the NVidia card 100% of the time. You need to use the Intel HD4000 when you're not gaming, as that's what it's meant for with Optimus.
Sometimes you need to make sure that it is switching to the NVidia card when you need it for a game or for whatever it is you're doing that you need it. This usually involves making a custom profile within the NVidia control panel. I have not played a game yet where I did NOT have to add it. I'd add it anyway, just to be sure that it's working correctly. Once you add the game, and tell it to use the NVidia high performance adapter (instead of the Intel integrated adapter), it should work just fine and hopefully increase your FPS.

  • GPU not detected

i have installed a  NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 but the GPU is NOT Detected in After Effects cs6,please help

That is not a GPU that After Effects CS6 will use for the GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer, but it will still be used for the OpenGL GPU features.

  • Z77A-GD65 not detecting second 7950 GPU

    Hi all,
Here are my specs, to start with:
    Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD65
    Processor: Intel i5-3570k
    Memory: 2x 4GB GeIL Black Dragon DDR3 PC3-12800C11
    SSD: Samsung 830 256GB
GPU 1: HIS 7950 Boost Edition 3GB, in the top 16x PCIe slot
GPU 2: VTX3D 7950 3GB, in the second 16x PCIe slot, via a powered PCIe 16x riser card
    PSU: OCZ ZS 750W
    Monitors: 1x BenQ G2420HDBL 1920x1080, 2x Dell 20" 1680x1050
USB devices: Razer Tarantula keyboard, Logitech MX Revolution mouse, Blue Snowball ICE microphone
Since installing the second graphics card, I have been having issues with the system booting, getting as far as 15 on the LED output, before restarting, and repeating over and over, on BIOS A91. I found that if I had none of my monitors turned on, then the system would more reliably boot.
Today, I have updated my BIOS to the AC3 release. This appears to have resolved the reboot loop, I can have all my monitors switched on now - however, it is now not detecting my 2nd graphics card at all!
I have the system fully water cooled, so removing/swapping cards around is going to be very difficult - due to my loop design, I am using the powered 16x riser card.
However, before this is pointed at as being the problem, I was having the reboot loop issue with the previous BIOS when I had the card plugged in directly to the motherboard prior to fitting the water cooling to this second card! The powered riser made no difference, either good or bad.
Any thoughts or suggestions on any settings that I may have missed anywhere after updating the BIOS that would have the effect of disabling my second 7950?

    Quote
would I be right in remembering that there is some setting, somewhere (which I've not found yet) that specifies something about the PCIe slots and which ones are active, ie disabling the 1x slots and giving the PCIe lanes to the 16x slot
There is no setting. The slots are automatically switched depending on the population. If the primary slot is the only physical x16 slots populated it is X16/x0/x0. If the 2nd slot or both is/are populated it is (x8/x8/x0). If the 3rd or all slots is/are populated it is x8/x4/x4.

  • CS6 Not Responding - AMD Radeon 6630m issues

I have been faced with an increasing number of CS6 freezes, primarliy when in the middle of some quick select editing on raw files, which appear to be the video card. Windows informs me that the "Display Driver AMD stopped responding and recovered" in the windows task bar. After this message shows Photoshop is frozen, and listed as not responding in task manager at which point I have to kill the process. Are there any known compatibility issues with this video card and\or drivers and Photoshop? I have the latest driver from HP (this is an Envy 14), which had the version 9.0.0.0 driver from AMD. I tried the latest beta drivers from AMDs site and it gave me an error saying that the hardware was not supported and to use the manufacturer provided drivers.

You need to update that old video card driver, from AMD's website (not Microsoft, and not the system builder).

  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Not Detected in CC or CS6

So, I have a dilemma, and I'm hoping Adobe staff might be able to help. I'm including all the nitty gritty details, so bear with me.
I'm running an Asus G74JH laptop. Asus has decided not to update the driver for my specific card anymore, leaving me off at version 8.683.
I have uninstalled this driver and updated to the most current stable and beta driver on the website (I tried both on separate occasions), and finally, CC was able to detect my GPU.
However, the most stable version of my GPU driver causes my laptop to crash in games that I play, such as Counter-Strike: GO, League of Legends, and pretty much every other game I try to run. It sits fine for a while, and suddenly, I get a grey / bezeled screen. If I hit my power button and force my PC into sleep mode, wake it up, the game will continue until the next time it decides to randomly crash. If I do not force it into sleep mode, it freezes and requires a hard reboot.
    My question is--
Is Adobe able to detect the 8.683 version of my driver rather than have me update to my current driver that causes my games to crash?
I'm conflicted by work and play.
I've also contacted Asus and AMD/ATI. I'm now trying Adobe. I'm hoping someone-- anyone.. can help me with this. I want to get on that CC monthly!
Thank you for your time and effort!

The W500 is on the list of ThinkPad models that are not fully supported in Windows 8. My personal experience is that Windows 8 runs rather well on a W500, despite the lack of switchable graphics. Also, forget about using the Display Port output to drive an external monitor. That just will not work without those unavailable drivers. However, the W500 runs Windows 8 rather well, and video is pretty quick without the ATI support. Both a standard hard drive and solid state drive exhibit rather good performance with Windows 8 on the W500.
I'm not too upset about the lack of Windows 8 support for the W500; that new operating system isn't all that much better than Windows 7 anyway.

  • Cineform Encoding not utilising CPU/GPU in AME

Hey folks, I'm working on a machinima project at the moment with fairly massive amounts of data. We are acquiring our images at two resolutions, 2560x1440 and 3820x2400, which is generated with Uncompressed RGB .avi files. I am then using the watch folder tool in Media Encoder to convert these to Cineform 444 Filmscan 2 .avi files. There is only a slight amount of disk space saved by this transcoding but the main reason we do this is becaus Premiere seems to be able to play back the Cineform files fin in realtime, where as it can't playback the uncompressed files.
The issue is, that Media Encoder takes about 5x realtime to do this encoding. I have tried with and without Cuda switched on and it doesn't seem to want to utilise my hardware. The CPU usage is about 14% of one core, and the GPU is even less.
Is there a reason Cineform can't max out my CPU/GPU usage in media encoder?
I have tried this on two systems with very different specs, and have the same results.
    System 1: i7 3770K @ 4.6GHz, 32GB RAM, 2x AMD 7970 GPU, 700MB/s RAID5
    System 2: i7 980X @ 4.2GHz, 24GB RAM, 2x GTX 780, 700MB/s RAID5

What are your system specs?  OS version, motherboard, memory, processor, number of hard drives etc...
Unless something jumps out related to your system, I really don't have any idea why it isn't working.  We have two editing systems using the GTX285.  They both are working fine.
If you go to iolo.com, download a free trial of System Mechanic (NOT the professional version which includes anti-virus).  The trial is fully functional for 30 days.  Run a complete system scan, repair problems and then restart.  See if that helps.
You're NOT using the Premiere CS5 trial version... Right?

  • GRAPHICS CARD: detected AMD 11.1 drivers, please upgrade to 11.7 ERROR!. APPLE BOOTCAMP.

Hello folks I'm a gamer and recently I had bought BF3 when I try to launch the application it says:
"Detected AMD Radeon driver version 11.1. The recommended driver version is 11.7. Please update drivers at http://www.amd.com/ before playing this game."
So I, "try," updating the drivers
    1. AMD.com
    2. Clicked on Support & Drivers.
    3. Component Category: MAC Graphics, Product Line: Apple Boot Camp, Product Model: MacBook Pro, Operating System: Windows 7 - 64 Bit
    4. Then I click on View Results and it takes me here:http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/bootcamp-win7.aspx
    5. There's only one result, version #8.812. ( Which is the version I already have; 11.1 )
So I try re-downloading that, installing it, it tells me it installed fine, but when I try to run the game it gives me the same error, as it's still 11.1. What can I do? Thanks.
P.S. I know there are a bunch of threads around here like this, thing is none of them really have any solutions.
Extra info: It's MacBookPro 15 in.
I have even tried going to control panel > Adjust Screen Resolution > Advance settings> properties > Drivers > Update Drivers > Search online for software > and it comes out that I'm completely up to date on my AMD Radeon HD6770M. I think it's something with bootcamp maybe they need an update or something. Please leave your solutions below. I will try anything at this point.

    Very easy soluion
    Use this link
    http://www.hardwareheaven.com/mobility-radeon-drivers-support/206549-ati-catalys t-mobility-11-12-display-drivers-notebook-computers-13-12-2011-a.html
This will guide you how to do it, should take you 5-10 minutes to update.
    NOTE
Dont update the drivers by running the installer, just open 'start' > my computer (right click > manage) > device manager > select GPU > right click properties > update drivers, select drivers from location then select the driver folder you just downloaded
This will allow you to update.
